IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
• Read all instructions before use.
• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug, variable temperature control, or
appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking
off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,
or has been damaged in any manner.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
• The use of attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, elec
tric shock or injuries.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
• Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
• To disconnect the appliance, turn any control to off (if applicable), then remove plug from wall

• Keep lid closed on the appliance when in use.
• Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
• Use only water in this appliance. Do not put any other liquids or foods in the boiler.
• Do not set a coffeemaker on a wet or cold surface.
• Do not use a cracked coffeemaker or a coffeemaker having a loose or weakened handle.
• Do not clean coffeemaker with cleansers, steel wool pads or other abrasive material.
• Never stir inside of the pitcher with a spoon or other utensils.
• This machine has been manufactured to “make coffee.” Never use other extracts, cocoa powder,
chamomile, other infusions or soluble substances; these may block the holes in the filter.
• This is an electrical appliance. Therefore, during cleaning, never immerse the base or the boiler
in water.
• Be careful to avoid being scalded by spraying water, steam, or due to the improper use of the
appliance.
• The appliance must work only connected to a power outlet, never use directly on stovetop
burner.
• Never touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
• Fill the boiler with water before placing the coffeemaker on the support base.
• Do not let the power cord come into contact with the metallic parts of the coffeemaker when in
operation.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed,

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit correctly into the out-
let, flip it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature
by modifying the plug in any way.
EXTENSION CORD USE
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled or tripping
over a longer cord.
The use of an extension cord is not recommended. However, longer extension cords may be used if care
is exercised.
A. The leveled electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance.
B. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

ELECTRIC POWER
If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. It
should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
Warning: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of the outer
cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are
no user serviceable parts inside.

BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove all packing material and stickers from the product and save instruction manual.
• Cut and remove tie wrap located between the electric plug blades.
• Before using your new appliance, wipe the body of the appliance with a damp cloth.
• Wash all the removable parts with warm sudsy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Place appliance on a flat stable surface.
Caution: Because some countertop finishes are more sensitive than others, use care not to place
espresso maker on surfaces where heat may cause damage.
• Make sure switch is in the OFF position (0).
• Check that the coffeemaker is not hot, and unscrew it by holding the boiler with one hand and the
pitcher counterclockwise with the other.
• Remove funnel and fill the boiler with fresh water until reaching the safety valve (visible inside the
boiler) without filling past it.
Note: Do not use the coffeemaker without water in the boiler. Also do not put hot water in the boiler for
faster operation.
• Insert the funnel in the boiler.
• Tighten the coffeemaker securely. Hold the boiler with one hand and turn the pitcher clockwise
the other hand, without pushing on the handle.
• Place the coffeemaker on the base. Close the lid.
• Plug into a standard 120 Volt AC outlet.
• Press the switch ON (I). The light will indicate that the coffeemaker is on.
Caution: Do not open the lid to the pitcher during the brewing process as scalding may occur.
• Brew the water through the appliance without adding coffee grounds. This removes any dust or
residue that may remain in the system from the manufacturing process.
• The water will start to be released after a few minutes.

HOW TO USE YOUR ELECTRIC ESPRESSO MAKER
• Make sure switch is in the OFF position (0).
• Check that the coffeemaker is not hot, and unscrew it by holding the boiler with one hand and
the pitcher counterclockwise with the other.
• To prepare 6 cups of coffee, remove funnel and fill the boiler with fresh water until reaching the
safety valve (visible inside the boiler) without filling past it. Insert the funnel in the boiler, and fill the
funnel with ground coffee without compressing it.
• To prepare 3 cups of coffee, fill the boiler with water to around 2 centimeters below the safety
valve. Insert the 3-cup adapter in the funnel and fill the funnel with ground coffee without
compressing it.
Note: Do not use the coffeemaker without water in the boiler. Also do not put hot water in the boiler for
faster operation.
• Distribute the ground coffee uniformly and remove any excess coffee from the edge of the filter.
Note: Use good quality, medium ground coffee.
• Tighten the coffeemaker securely. Hold the boiler with one hand and turn the pitcher clockwise with
the other, without pushing on the handle.
• Place the coffeemaker on the base. Close the lid.
• Plug into a standard 120 Volt AC outlet.
• Press the switch ON (I). The light will indicate that the coffeemaker is on.
Caution: Do not open the lid to the water reservoir during the brewing process as scalding may occur.
• The coffee will start to be released after a few minutes.
• When brewing stops, press the switch OFF (0).
• Unplug unit and allow the coffeemaker to cool.

CARE AND CLEANING
This product contains no user serviceable parts.
• Unplug the cord and wait for the appliance to cool completely before cleaning.
• After each use, the pitcher, boiler, funnel and adapter, should be emptied and rinsed thoroughly
with warm water. Dry before reassembling the appliance. Take care not to wet the electrical parts.
Never rinse the boiler or base directly under the tap water and never immerse it in water.
Note: Make sure all the parts are properly installed before each use.
• Clean inside of the central tube periodically.
• Regularly check the gasket. Replace if there are signs of wear or deterioration. Use original spare
parts only.
• Every so often, check for any blockage on the disk filter. Blockages may be removed by using a
pin or needle as illustrated below.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
• The appliance and its parts are NOT dishwasher safe.
• Do not use any abrasive cleaners or metal pads to clean the appliance.
• Never spray or apply cleaner directly onto or into the appliance.

Suggested cleaning intervals
Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog your appliance.
• Make sure switch is in the OFF position (0).
• Fill the boiler with white cooking vinegar until reaching the safety valve (visible inside the boiler)
without filling past it.
• Insert the funnel in the boiler.
• Tighten the coffeemaker securely. Hold the boiler with one hand and turn the pitcher clockwise
with the other, without pushing on the handle.
• Place the coffeemaker on the base. Close the lid.
• Plug into a standard 120 Volt AC outlet.
• Press the switch ON (I). The light will indicate that the coffeemaker is on.
• Brew the cooking white vinegar through the appliance without adding coffee grounds.
Caution: Do not open the lid to the pitcher during the brewing process as scalding may occur.
• The vinegar will be released after a few minutes.
• Press the switch OFF (0) when the brewing process ends.
• Unplug unit and allow the coffeemaker to cool.
• Repeat the steps above using cold water to rinse away any traces of vinegar. It is recommended to
repeat this cold water cycle twice.
• Wash the coffeemaker as instructed in the CARE AND CLEANING section.
Decalcifying
The frequency of cleaning depends on the hardness of the water used. The following table gives the
suggested cleaning intervals:

STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
• Always allow the appliance to completely cool before storing.
• Wind the electrical cord into a coil and secure with a twist fastener.
• Store your appliance in a dry location, such as on a tabletop, countertop, or on a cupboard shelf.
• Other than recommended cleaning, no further user maintenance should be necessary.

INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD
Cuando se utilizan electrodomésticos, siempre se deben respetar ciertas medidas de
seguridad incluyendo las siguientes:

• No toque las superficies calientes. Utilice las asas o las perillas.

ENCHUFE POLARIZADO
Este aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (un contacto es más ancho que el otro). Para reducir el riesgo
de choque eléctrico, este enchufe entra en un contacto polarizado de una sola manera. Si el enchufe no
entra correctamente, inviértalo. Si aún así no encaja, busque la ayuda de un electricista calificado. No
intente hacerle ninguna modificación al enchufe.
USO DE UN CABLE DE EXTENSIÓN
El producto viene con un cable corto de suministro de potencia para reducir el riesgo que resulta de
enredarse o tropezarse con un cable más largo.
No se recomienda el uso de un cable de extensión. Sin embargo, puede usarse un cable de extensión si
se emplea el cuidado requerido.
A. El voltaje eléctrico del cable de extensión debe ser como mínimo igual al voltaje del aparato.
B. El cable de extensión debe acomodarse de modo que no cuelgue del mostrador o de la mesa,
para evitar que un niño tire del mismo o se tropiece sin intención.

ANTES DE UTILIZAR POR PRIMERA VEZ
• Retire todo el material de empaque y las calcomanías adheridas al producto y conserve el manual
de instrucciones.
• Corte y retire la banda plástica que pasa por los contactos del enchufe.
• Antes de usar la máquina, limpie toda la superficie de la misma con un paño húmedo.
• Lave todas las partes removibles con agua tibia y jabón. Enjuague y seque.
• Coloque el producto sobre una superficie plana y estable.
Advertencia: Debido a que el terminado de ciertos mostradores puede ser afectado más que otros,
asegúrese de no colocar la máquina sobre superficies susceptibles al calor.
• Asegúrese que el interruptor esté en la posición de apagado OFF (0).
• Compruebe que la cafetera no esté caliente, y desenrósquela sujetando la caldera con una mano y
con la otra mano gire la jarra en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.
• Retire el embudo y llene la caldera con agua hasta llegar a la válvula de seguridad (visible en el
interior de la caldera), sin sobrepasar la válvula.

• Enchufe en una toma de corriente estándar de 120 voltios de corriente alterna.
• Pulse el interruptor ON para encender (I). La luz indica que la cafetera está encendida.
Precaución: No abra la tapa de la jarra durante el proceso de colado, puede sufrir quemaduras.
• Deje que la cafetera comience a colar el agua sin agregar café molido. Esto elimina cualquier
residuo de polvo que puede permanecer en el sistema durante el proceso de fabricación.
• El agua comenzará a colar después de unos minutos.

COMO USAR SU CAFETERA ELÉCTRICA PARA EXPRESO
• Asegúrese que el interruptor esté en la posición de apagado (0).
• Compruebe que la cafetera no esté caliente, y desenrósquela sujetando la caldera con una mano y
con la otra mano gire la jarra en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.
• Para preparar 6 tazas de café: retire el embudo y llene la caldera con agua hasta llegar a la válvula
de seguridad (visible en el interior de la caldera) sin sobrepasarla. Inserte el embudo en la caldera,
y llene el embudo con café molido sin presionarlo.
• Para preparar 3 tazas de café: retire el embudo y llene la caldera con agua hasta 2 centímetros
por debajo de la válvula de seguridad. Inserte el adaptador para 3 tazas en el embudo y llene el
embudo con café molido sin presionarlo.
Nota: No utilice la cafetera sin agua en la caldera. Tampoco usar agua caliente para acelerar el proceso
de colado.
• Distribuya uniformemente el café molido y elimine cualquier exceso de café del borde del filtro.
Nota: Utilice café molido de buena calidad y de grano de tamaño medio.
• Apriete la cafetera de forma segura: mantenga la caldera con una mano y con la otra mano gire la
jarra en sentido de las agujas del reloj, sin empujar en el mango.
• Coloque la cafetera en la base. Cierre la tapa.
• Enchufe en una toma de corriente estándar de 120 voltios de corriente alterna.
• Pulse el interruptor ON para encender (I). La luz indica que la cafetera está encendida.
Precaución: No abra la tapa de la jarra durante el proceso de colado, puede sufrir quemaduras.
• El café comenzará a colarse después de unos minutos.
• Pulse el interruptor OFF para apagar (0).
• Desenchufe la cafetera y deje que se enfríe.
• Pulse el interruptor OFF para apagar (0) cuando se acabe el proceso de colado.
• Desenchufe la cafetera y deje que se enfríe.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA
Este producto no contiene piezas reparables por el consumidor.
• Desconecte el cable del tomacorriente. Espere que la cafetera se enfríe por completo antes de
limpiarla.
• La jarra, la caldera, el embudo y el adaptador para 3 tazas, deben vaciarse y enjuagarse a fondo
con agua tibia después de cada uso. Seque antes de ensamblar la cafetera. Tenga cuidado de no
mojar las partes eléctricas. Nunca enjuague la caldera o la base directamente bajo el agua
del grifo y nunca lo sumerja en agua.
Nota: Asegúrese de que todas las partes están instaladas correctamente antes de cada uso.
• Limpie el interior del tubo central periódicamente.
• Compruebe regularmente la empacadura. Debe sustituirla si hay signos de desgaste o deterioro.
Utilice sólo piezas de repuesto originales.
• Revise periódicamente el filtro en busca de obstrucciones y elimínelas mediante el uso de un
alfiler.
• Nunca sumerja la cafetera en agua ni en ningún otro líquido.
• La cafetera y sus partes no son aptas para el lavaplatos automático.

Los depósitos de minerales provenientes del agua dura pueden obstruir su cafetera.
• Asegúrese que el interruptor esté en la posición de apagado (0).

• Pulse el interruptor OFF para apagar (0) cuando se acabe el proceso de colado.
• Desenchufe la cafetera y deje que se enfríe.
• Repita este proceso usando agua fría en la caldera para limpiar cualquier residuo de vinagre que
pueda haber quedado. Se recomienda repetir por lo menos dos veces.
• Nunca rocíe o aplique limpiadores directamente sobre o dentro de la cafetera.
Descalcificación
La frecuencia de la limpieza depende de la dureza del agua que se está usando. La siguiente tabla
muestra intervalos de tiempo sugeridos para llevar a cabo la limpieza.

ALMACENAMIENTO Y MANTENIMIENTO
• Siempre deje enfriar completamente la cafetera antes de guardarla.
• Enrolle el cable eléctrico en espiral y asegúrelo con una atadura.
• Guarde la cafetera en un lugar seco; por ejemplo, encima de la mesa, el mostrador o en un estante
del armario.
• Adicional a la limpieza recomendada, no se requiere ningún mantenimiento especial.
