2 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
2.1 Features
This is a Photoelectric switch solely designed for incorporating to the
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) intelligent lighting
management system to provide multi-functions such as switching on
and off and dimming the light, also lighting scenery setting which can
offer comfort and convenience as well as energy saving benefits.
Using the spring clamps for easy and quick installation.
Constant light control is enabled with the auto/manual dim
function to provide an easy and cost effective solution for energy
saving.
The ambient Lux value can be learned as the threshold for
switching on / off the loads by VR if the pre-set Lux value does
not match user’s requirement.
A red LED is equipped as an indicator for Lux learning, Dim
function and operating mode selection.
With DALI outputs control lighting system in their corresponding
areas, all connected devices share the same broadcast address.
and there is no need to assign address to every device.

INSTALLATION AND WIRING
Please disconnect power completely and read the entire
instruction manual carefully before installation.
Please disconnect power completely and read the entire
instruction manual carefully before installation.
3.1 Select a proper location
3.1.1 Installation tips specially for DALI dimming presence
detector
The detector should be placed in room where it can measure both
natural light and artificial light simultaneously.
Direct light on the detector from any illumination should be avoided.
You should be away from the detector to avoid affecting the
luminous flux that reaches the detector when making Lux value
setting.
Do not install the detector directly next to a window or sun blind
which can cause incorrect measurement on the natural light
(Refer to FIG.2).
FIG.2
3.2.1 Delay on / off 60sec function
!1m1m
Load will be switched on / off after LED turns on / off 60sec.
Please refer to the followings for detailed load and LED action:
Red LED is switched on when the ambient light level reaches the
pre-set switch on Lux value, and load will turn on if LED keeps on
60sec.
Red LED is switched off when the ambient light level is higher than
the pre-set switch on value and load will turn off if LED keeps on
60sec.
3.2.2 Brightness control function
There are two ways to turn on the load:
Semi-Auto: Manual on & Auto off
Set "Mode" knob to "Semi-Auto", the connected load only can be
manually switched on by operating the connected external push
button even if the ambient light level is lower than the pre-set Lux
setting value, and to be automatically switched off until the
ambient light level keeps be higher than the switch off Lux value for
5min or by operating the connected external push button.
Auto: Auto on & Auto off
Set "Mode" knob to "Auto", when the ambient light level is below
pre-set Lux setting value and keeps for 60sec, the load will turn on
automatically, and to be automatically switched off until the
ambient light level keeps be higher than the switch off Lux value for
5min or by operating the connected external push button.

3.2.3 Manual ON /OFF/ dimming via external push button
switch
No matter the photoelectric switch is in Auto or Semi-Auto working
mode, it is possible not to completely turn the lighting off but maintain
a minimum brightness level of artificial light as user desired.
Placing the STBY% knob to OFF will switch off the artificial light if
there is sufficient daylight. Setting the STBY% knob to other places
(10%, 20%, 30%) will keep the lighting still be on with set value, even
there is sufficient daylight. In this case, the lighting will not be
switched off until the ambient light value has reached the switch off
Lux value for 5 minutes, or the switching-off can be done by using the
external push-button switch.
For user easy and correct setting the desired illumination, after knob is
adjusted, the illumination of load will turn to be the changed setting
value within 1sec firstly, then 5sec later, it returns to the original
setting value.
3.2.4 Load on illumination in standby mode
(STBY% knob setting)
3.3 Wiring (See FIG.3)
FIG.3
KSL-DALI-01
DA+DA-
It is possible to install an external push-button switch (N.O. type)
between the R and the L terminals (refer to wiring FIG.3) to manually
turn the light off and on as well as dim the light.
In any situation, by short pressing ( < 2sec) the push-button switch,
the load will be switched on or off (on ĺ off ; off ĺ on).
Under the light on status, by long pressing ( 2sec) the push-button
switch can dim the brightness of load. The dimming can only be done
in one-way, that is, it can only be dimmed to the brightest or the
darkest, cycle dimming is not possible, and once the light is dimmed to
the maximum or minimum value, the built-in red LED will keep on for
5sec as indication. Release the push-button switch when brightness
of lighting meets your requirement.
Remark: It will lead to opposite dimming direction when the next
dimming is carried out.
After the lighting is turned on, the brightness of the lighting will
automatically decrease or increase according to the current ambient
brightness to keep the sum of the lighting and the current ambient
brightness consistent with the preset Lux setting value. That is to say,
when the ambient brightness increases, the brightness of the lighting
decreases, and vice versa.
