WARNING Always follow the basic precautions listed below to avoid the possibility of serious injury or even death from electrical shock, short-circuiting, damages, fire or other hazards. These precautions include, but are not limited to, the following: If you notice any abnormality • If any of the following problems occur, immediately disconnect the Ethernet cable from this product. - The Ethernet cable becomes frayed or damaged. - Unusual smells or smoke are emitted. - Some object, or water has been dropped into the product. - There is a sudden loss of sound during use of the product. - Cracks or other visible damage appear on the product. Then have the product inspected or repaired by qualified Yamaha service personnel. Power supply • Use a CAT5e or higher grade cable. Failure to observe this precaution could result in a fire or malfunction. Do not open • This product contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to disassemble the internal parts or modify them in any way. 4 MLA-200 Owner’s Manual Water warning/Fire warning • Do not expose the product to rain, use it near water or in damp or wet conditions, or place on it any containers (such as vases, bottles or glasses) containing liquids which might spill into any openings. • Never insert or remove an electric plug with wet hands. • Do not place any burning items or open flames near the product, since they may cause a fire. Hearing loss • Before connecting the product to other devices, make sure that all volume levels are set to the minimum. Failing to do so may result in hearing loss, electric shock, or device damage. • Do not use headphones for a long period of time at a high or uncomfortable volume level, since this can cause permanent hearing loss. If you experience any hearing loss or ringing in the ears, consult a physician. • Use headphones with an impedance of 40Ω or more. Using headphones with an impedance of less than 40Ω may cause oscillation, extremely loud noises or hearing loss. Otherwise, the product, TV, or radio may generate noise. • Do not expose the product to excessive dust or vibration, or extreme cold or heat (such as in direct sunlight, near a heater, or in a car during the day), in order to prevent the possibility of panel disfiguration, unstable operation, or damage to the internal components. • Do not install in locations where temperature changes are severe. Otherwise, condensation may form on the inside or the surface of the product, causing it to break. • If there is reason to believe that condensation might have occurred, leave the product for several hours without turning on the power until the condensation has completely dried out, in order to prevent possible damage. • Do not place vinyl, plastic or rubber objects on the product, since this might cause alteration or discoloration of the panel. • When cleaning the product, use a dry and soft cloth. Do not use paint thinners, solvents, cleaning fluids, or chemical-impregnated wiping cloths, since this might cause alteration or discoloration. Lights up during normal operation. Flashes or goes off if an error occurred. In that case, immediately contact the instructor or person in charge of the system. [MY VOL.] knob Adjust the volume of your instrument or microphone. The more the knob is turned to the right, the louder your volume will be. When the knob is turned to the 3 o’clock position, your volume will be the same as that of other instruments. e Press to call the instructor. When the button is pressed, the instructor is called, and the button flashes. While the instructor is being called, press the button again to stop calling. When the instructor answers and during the conversation, the button lights up. The conversation is ended from the instructor's application. ty Connect a microphone headset or headphones. When turned on, the button lights up. Automatically turned on during conversations with the instructor. u [Dante] port Connect to a network. The MLA-200 is supplied power from the PoE Ethernet switch or injector. In order to prevent electromagnetic interference, use STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cables. NOTE Unplugging and plugging in the Ethernet cable in rapid succession may cause a malfunction. After unplugging the Ethernet cable and turning off the MLA-200, wait at least 5 seconds before plugging in the cable again. Use for the guide lamp feature with model songs and for receiving song data from the application. NOTE Use a USB cable of 3 m or less. o [INPUT] jack Connect with the PHONES (headphones) jack on the instrument. This is a standard stereo headphones input. !0 [INPUT GAIN] switch Switch the input gain for the [INPUT] jack to one of two settings. This switch is normally set to “0 dB”. Be careful not to change the DIP switch settings except when configuring or changing system settings. Be sure to consult with a system installer before operating the DIP switch.
