fails to operate satisfactorily within one (1) year from the date of original purchase or
receipt as a gift, Wahl will at our option repair or replace it and return it to you FREE
OF CHARGE. Our warranty does not cover blades, which are wear out parts. Please

The warranty is void and no repair or replacement will be made under this warranty or

1. The product is modified in any manner.

3. The product has been subjected to unreasonable use.
This warranty gives specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which
may vary from state to state. No other written express warranty is given. Any implied

OIL
The blades on your new clipper should be oiled every few haircuts. For the best re-
sults, place three drops on front of each blade and one drop on each side of the blade
as shown. Use only Wahl Clipper oil (a small bottle
is included in this kit, additional oil can be purchased
separately, see www.grooming.Wahl.com for detail).
DO NOT USE HAIR OIL, GREASE, OR ANY OIL
MIXED WITH KEROSENE OR ANY SOLVENT.
Oiling the blades performs two, distinct functions:
• Provides a low friction, very thin film lubricant between the cutting blades so that
they can take a full cutting stroke without becoming hot from frictional heat.
• Flushes abrasive particles and hairs out from between the blades.
NOTE: If you cut into dirt, immediately wash the blades with oil to flush it out. If your
model contains one, working the tapering lever back and forth will assist in removing
the dirt particles. Do not try to sharpen the clipper blades. Once they become dull,
special equipment is needed to resharpen the blades. Also, never wash the blades in
water. If you determine the blades need resharpening, you can return them to Wahl
Clipper Corp. for resharpening. (See page 11 for service address). A nominal fee will
be charged for resharpening. To remove cutting blades for sharpening or replacement,
loosen and remove the 2 screws on bottom blade. Or if your clipper contains detach-
able blades, see “removing & cleaning detachable blades” for removal and follow the
packing instructions. You will replace the same and retighten. Packing: remove the
blades from the clipper, pack each blade individually in soft wrapping paper, enclose
both blades in a durable container.

NON-DETACHABLE BLADES:
BLADE ALIGNMENT
• If your clipper has a taper lever - position the taper lever in the close cut position.
• End of top blade teeth should be approximately 1/32” (.64mm) back from bottom
blade.
• This is important so that the clipper does not cut too close or allow the moving cutter
to touch the skin.
• Extreme left-hand tooth of top blade must be covering or to the left of the first small
tooth of bottom blade.
• Extreme right-hand tooth of top blade must be touching the big tooth on the bottom
blade.
• If blade alignment is incorrect, add a few drops of oil to the blades, turn clipper “ON”
for a few moments, turn “OFF” and unplug. Loosen screws slightly and adjust. Tighten
screws after blades are aligned.
DETACHABLE BLADES:
REMOVING DETACHABLE BLADES
Some Wahl Clippers are equipped with detachable blades. To remove
the blades, hold the clipper firmly in one hand. Using the thumb of
your other hand, simply push the blades away from the front of the
clipper. The blades and the mounting plate behind them will all come
off in one piece.
REATTACHING DETACHABLE BLADES
To replace the blades, place the hook at the bottom of the blade set into the space
provided on the clipper housing. Then pivot the blade set toward the housing until it
snaps into place. Once it is seated, snap blade set to case so that you hear a click.
CHARGING
Some clippers will have a charging indicator light that will glow when
your clipper is in the “OFF” position and connected to its charger.
The clipper cannot be overcharged, so you may charge it as often as
desired. We recommend that the battery be “worked” or discharged
by clipping without the cord and by not recharging after every use.
BATTERY TYPE: NICKEL METAL HYDRIDE:
CHARGING
1) Before use, the clipper must be fully charged for 24 hours, it will take 12 to 15
hours to charge your clipper with completely discharged batteries.
2) A fully charged clipper will deliver up to 60 minutes of continuous trimming.
3) After use, move the switch to the “O - OFF” (CHARGE) position. Reconnect the
clipper to the transformer cord and recharge batteries by connecting the wall plug
transformer into any convenient electrical outlet.
4) Should you need to use clipper in corded mode when battery is fully discharged, it
is best to charge clipper in “O - OFF” position for several minutes before use. During
use, you may notice a decrease in blade speed. This is perfectly normal. The clipper
will still perform adequately in corded mode with a fully discharged battery.
5) Connect the clipper to the transformer cord, and plug the wall transformer into an
electrical outlet.
6) Move the switch to the “1 - ON” position.
7 ) After use, turn to “O - OFF” position then disconnect wall transformer from outlet.
NiMD/NiCAD BATTERY REPLACEMENT, CLIPPER DISPOSAL & RECYCLING
1) For battery replacement send the entire, intact clipper unity to: Wahl Annex 3001

2) Do not attempt to remove the battery.
3) If you choose not to replace the battery, the entire, intact clipper unit must be
disposed. Do not attempt to remove the battery for disposal. Many locations prohibit
disposal in standard waste receptacles. Check your local laws and regulations.
4)For recycling contact a government recycling agency, waste disposal service,
retailer, or visit online recycling sources, such as, www.batteryrecycling.com or www.
rbrc.org.
For an appliance that is equipped with a grounded plug, this appliance should be
grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of
electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with an appropriate grounding plug.
The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in
accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER - Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. If
repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the grounding
wire to either flat-blade terminal. The wire with insulation having an outer surface that
is green with or without yellow stripes is the grounding wire.
Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are
not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided; if it will not fit the outlet, have the proper
outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-V circuit, and has a grounding plug that
looks like the plug illustrated in sketch A in Figure 60.1. A temporary adapter, which
looks like the adapter illustrated in sketches B and C, may be used to connect this
plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in sketch B if a properly grounded outlet is not
available. The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet
(sketch A) can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green-colored rigid ear, lug,
or the like extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground
such as a properly grounded outlet-box cover. Whenever the adapter is used, it must
be held in place by a metal screw.

The first time you cut hair, cut only a small amount until you become accustomed to
how long each guide leaves the hair. Depending on your model, the following guide
combs may be included in your kit. Always start by placing the largest guide comb on
the clipper, then use shorter combs if desired length is shorter.
Guide Comb #3—leaves hair approx. 3/8”
Guide Comb #4—leaves hair approx. 1/2”
Guide Comb #7—leaves hair approx. 3/4”
Guide Comb #8—leaves hair approx. 1”
To attach combs, hold comb with teeth up and snap it firmly to the
bottom of the clipper blade. For uniform cutting, allow the clipper to cut its way through
the hair. Do not force it through at a faster rate.
1) Shut clipper off and slide Blade Adjustment forward.
2) Pivot Blade Attachment away from blade teeth and off.
1) It is normal for the unit to become somewhat warm during normal use.
2) Avoid pressing the blades strongly against the skin, being especially careful around
the ears. (The blades should be directed toward the skin at a right angle, but without
significant pressure.)
3) After cutting hair, clean the blades and oil clipper before storing the unit. Place a
small drop of WAHL CLIPPER OIL ONLY on the ends of the blades while clipper is
running.
4) To clean the body of the unit, use either a clean, dry, or dampened cloth.
DO NOT USE benzine or thinner to clean the unit.
5) Do not store the clipper in a wet or moist environment.
6) To prolong blade life, do not use clipper on dirty coats.
7) Do not try to repair any internal mechanisms. If the unit should need repair, return
it to Wahl Clipper Corporation.
8) Keep the cord untwisted and unobstructed. When stored, the cord should be

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
This clipper has been designed for household use.
The appliance is intended for trimming purposes only.
Assemble your supplies:
Clipper, oil, blades, slicker brush, attachment combs and comb, scissors, tear-free
shampoo, dryer, rubber bath mat, nail cutters. Be sure all your equipment is in good
working condition and easy to reach. Grooming should be done on a solid table
(about 30” high) with a non-slip surface to give your dog a steady and secure footing.
A grooming post to secure the dog would be of considerable aid. Good lighting is
essential. The light should be adequately bright and evenly distributed; there should
be no shadows.
1) Before clipping your dog for the first time, run the clipper near the dog’s ear for a
short time so he gets used to the noise.
2) If clipping for the first time, the clipping process will be slow. Try to move with the
dog when clipping. After a few grooming sessions, you will develop your own comfort-
able style and grooming will go faster.
3) Take your time when grooming, and use a lot of affection. Dogs know when you’re
in a hurry and will react by getting nervous, making grooming more difficult.
4) It is very important to trim out excess hair on the pads. Otherwise the pads will
become dirty and matted, causing painful walking for the dog.
Brush out coat thoroughly
a) Remove all snarls, knots, tangles and mats.
b) Part the hair and brush on 1” sections-brush from the skin out.

a) Soak the dog thoroughly.
b) Apply shampoo and work into a good lather.
c) Pay particular attention to the rectum and pads (bottom of the paws).
d) Be careful also not to get soap in the dog’s eyes (for safety use a “tearfree”
shampoo).
e) Rinse very thoroughly.
f) Towel dry
g) Fluff dry or brush and dry.
• Start with the legs using a wire brush and moving up to the body.
• Direct dryer to the area you are brushing. Do one spot at a time.
• Use light, fluffing strokes.
• There should be no snags or tangles when you are done.
Adding a guide comb to your clipper allows you to cut hair at even lengths. Cutting
against the grain of the hair with a guide comb will give you a shorter cut, then cutting
with the grain of the hair.
1) Shut clipper off, and if your clipper has a taper lever, adjust the lever to the “Fine”
position.
2) Holding Blade Attachment in palm of hand, snap side spring clips on bottom blade.
3) Slide Blade Attachment into place.
4) BE SURE Blade Attachment is in correct installed position before operating clipper.
The blades can be severely damaged if the Blade Attachment is allowed to enter the
operating clipper blade teeth.

coiled and the unit placed in a dry place, away from children.
9) Use only the power source specified on the rating plate.
10) The cutting blades furnished with Pet Clippers are made of a special high carbon
steel scientifically heat treated for correct hardness. Years of experi-
ence have created a special process for grinding these
blades to a super sharpness.
11) Be careful not to drop the clipper or to “nick” the
blades.
12) Always replace the blade guard when the clipper
is not in use. This will help prevent accidental damage and blade
dulling.
13) Periodically dip the blade in a shallow pan of Wahl Clipper Oil (with clipper run-
ning) to flush out dirt and hair particles.
14) Feed clipper through the hair only as fast as it will cut. Feeding too fast wedges
the hair clippings between the blades, keeping them from cutting properly. DO NOT
CUT WET HAIR.
15) Keep your clipper blades sharp. Clip only clean animals. FOREIGN PARTICLES
are the major cause of dull blades. Sharp clipper blades cut better and faster. FOR
GENUINE FACTORY BLADE SHARPENING, see General Facts & Maintenance.
NEW REPLACEMENT BLADES are available from your Wahl products outlet. It is
recommended that you order an extra Wahl Regular Blade as a “spare” so that you
will always have a sharp clipper blade on hand.

RECARGA
1) Antes de usarla, es necesario cargar la cortadora durante 24
horas, tomará de 12 a 15 horas cargar por completo su cortadora
cuando las baterías estén completamente descargadas.
2) Una cortadora completamente cargada puede funcionar durante
60 minutos de corte continuo.
3) Después de usar, mueva el interruptor de a la posición “O -

CÓMO REMOVER CUCHILLAS DESMONTABLES
Algunas cortadoras Wahl están equipadas con cuchillas desmon-
tables. Para remover las cuchillas, sostenga firmemente la cortadora
en una mano. Usando el pulgar de su otra mano, simplemente empu-
je las cuchillas hacia la parte de atrás de la máquina. Las cuchillas y
la placa de montaje que está atrás de ellas se desarmarán en una sola pieza.
CÓMO VOLVER A COLOCAR CUCHILLAS DESMONTABLES
Para volver a colocar las cuchillas, coloque el gancho en la parte inferior del conjunto
de cuchillas en el espacio que está en la carcasa de la cortadora. Luego gire las
cuchillas hacia la carcasa hasta que entren en su sitio. Cuando esté en su lugar,
empuje el conjunto de cuchillas hacia la carcasa hasta que escuche un chasquido.
RECARGA
Algunas cortadoras tienen una luz indicadora de carga que se enciende cuando
su cortadora está en la posición de “APAGADO” y conectada a su cargador. La
cortadora no puede cargarse en exceso, así que puede cargarla con tanta frecuencia
como desee. Recomendamos que “trabaje” o descargue la batería cortando sin el
cable y no recargándola después de cada uso.
7) No intente reparar los mecanismos internos. Si la unidad necesita reparaciones,
devuélvala a Wahl Clipper Corporation.
8) Evite que el cable se tuerza o se atore. Cuando lo almacene, el cable se debe
enrollar y la unidad se debe colocar en un lugar seco y fuera del alcance de los niños.

10) Las cuchillas incluidas con cortadoras para mascotas están hechas de un acero
especial al alto carbono, con un tratamiento térmico especial para una dureza cor-
recta. Años de experiencia han creado un proceso especial para
esmerilar estas cuchillas con un filo extraordinario.
11) Tenga cuidado de no dejar caer la cortadora ni
“despostillar” las cuchillas.
12) Siempre coloque el protector de cuchillas cuando la
cortadora no está en uso. Esto ayudará a evitar daños
accidentales y la pérdida del filo de las cuchillas.
13) Moje periódicamente la cuchilla en una bandeja poco profunda con aceite para
cortadora Wahl (con la cortadora encendida) para eliminar suciedad y partículas de
pelo.
14) Pase la cortadora por el pelo a la velocidad a la que pueda cortar. Pasarla
demasiado rápido atora el pelo cortado entre las cuchillas, evitando que corten cor-
rectamente. NO CORTE PELO MOJADO.
15) Mantenga afiladas las cuchillas de su cortadora. Solamente corte el pelo a
animales limpios. Las PARTÍCULAS EXTRAÑAS son la principal causa de que las
cuchillas pierdan el filo. Las cuchillas afiladas cortan mejor y más rápido. PARA UN

Hay CUCHILLAS DE REPUESTO NUEVAS disponibles con su distribuidor de produc-
tos Wahl. Recomendamos que ordene una cuchilla Wahl regular adicional como

Para aparatos equipados con enchufe con conexión a tierra, este aparato debe estar
conectado a tierra. En caso de un cortocircuito eléctrico, la conexión a tierra reduce
el riesgo de una descarga eléctrica al proporcionar un cable de escape para la
corriente eléctrica. Este aparato está equipado con un cable que tiene un conductor
a tierra con una clavija de tierra correspondiente. El enchufe debe conectarse a un
tomacorriente instalado correctamente y conectado a tierra en conformidad con todos
los códigos y las ordenanzas locales.
PELIGRO - El uso incorrecto de la clavija de tierra puede causar un riesgo de descar-
ga eléctrica. Si es necesario reemplazar o reparar el cable o la clavija, no conecte el
conductor de tierra a ninguna de las terminales planas. El conductor con un aislante
exterior verde, con o sin franjas amarillas, es el conductor de tierra.
Consulte a un electricista calificado o a un reparador si no entiende completamente
las instrucciones de conexión a tierra, o si no está seguro de que el aparato esté
conectado a tierra correctamente. No modifique el enchufe incluido; si no entra
en el tomacorriente, haga que un electricista calificado le instale un tomacorriente
apropiado.
Este aparato debe usarse en un circuito con voltaje nominal de 120V, y tiene un
enchufe con tierra similar al que aparece en el boceto A en la figura 60.1. Se puede
usar un adaptador temporal similar al ilustrado en los bocetos B y C para conectar
este enchufe a un tomacorriente de 2 clavijas, como se muestra en el boceto B, si
no hay disponible un tomacorriente con tierra. El adaptador temporal solamente
debe ser usado hasta que un electricista calificado pueda conectar un tomacor-
riente con tierra (boceto A). La orejeta rígida o protuberancia similar de color verde
del adaptador debe ser conectada a una tierra permanente, como la cubierta de un
tomacorriente con conexión a tierra. Siempre que use el adaptador debe estar sujeto
en su lugar con un tornillo metálico.

La primera vez que corte el pelo, corte solo una pequeña cantidad hasta que se
acostumbre al largo del cabello que logra con cada guía. Dependiendo de su modelo,
los siguientes peines guía podrían venir incluidos en su juego. Comience siempre
colocando el peine guía más largo en la cortadora, después use los
peines más cortos si desea una longitud más corta.
Peine guía N° 3 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 3/8 pulg (9.5
mm)
Peine guía N° 4 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 1/2 pulg (12.7
mm)
Peine guía N° 7 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 3/4 pulg (19 mm)
Peine guía N° 8 - deja el pelo de aproximadamente 1 pulg (25.4 mm)
Para colocar peines, sujete el peine con los dientes hacia arriba e insértelo con
firmeza en la parte inferior de la cuchilla de la cortadora. Para lograr un corte parejo,
deje que la cortadora avance a través del cabello. No la fuerce para que pase con
una velocidad mayor.
1) Apague la cortadora y deslice el ajuste de la cuchilla hacia adelante.
2) Pivotee el accesorio de la cuchilla para separarlo de los dientes de la cuchilla y
quitarlo.
1) Es normal que la unidad se caliente un poco durante su uso normal.
2) Evite presionar las cuchillas fuertemente contra la piel; sea especialmente
cuidadoso con las orejas. (Las cuchillas deberían dirigirse a la piel en un ángulo recto
pero sin presión significativa).
3) Después de cortar pelo, limpie las cuchillas y aplíqueles aceite antes de almacenar
la unidad. Coloque una pequeña gota ÚNICAMENTE del ACEITE PARA CORTA-
DORA WAHL en los bordes de las cuchillas mientras la cortadora está funcionando.
4) Para limpiar el cuerpo de la unidad, utilice un paño limpio, seco o húmedo.
NO USE bencina ni disolvente para limpiar la unidad.
5) No almacene la cortadora en un lugar mojado o húmedo.
6) Para prolongar la vida útil de la cuchilla, no use la cortadora en pelajes sucios.

Esta cortadora fue diseñada para uso doméstico.
El aparato está diseñado solo con fines de recorte.
Reúna sus accesorios:
Cortadora, aceite, cuchillas, cepillo profundo, peines accesorios y peine, tijeras,
champú sin irritantes, secadora, tapete de baño de caucho, cortauñas. Asegúrese
de que todo su equipo está en buenas condiciones y a su alcance. El corte debe
hacerse en una mesa sólida (de unas 30 pulg. (75 cm) de altura) con una superficie
antiderrapante para que su perro esté estable y seguro. Un poste de aseo para atar
al perro sería de mucha ayuda. La buena iluminación es esencial. La luz debe ser lo
bastante brillante y estar bien distribuida; no debe arrojar sombras.
1) Antes de cortar el pelo a su perro por primera vez, haga funcionar la cortadora
cerca de su oreja por un período corto para que se acostumbre al ruido.
2) Si va a cortarle el pelo por primera vez, el proceso será lento. Trate de moverse
con el perro mientras hace el corte. Después de algunas sesiones de corte, desarrol-
lará su propio estilo y los cortes serán más rápidos.
3) Tómese su tiempo al cortar y sea muy afectuoso. Los perros sienten cuando tiene
prisa y reaccionan poniéndose nerviosos, lo que dificulta más el corte.
4) Es muy importante recortar el pelo excesivo de las almohadillas de las patas. De
lo contrario las almohadillas se ensuciarán y enredarán, causándole dolor al caminar
al perro.
Cepille a conciencia el pelaje.
a) Elimine todos los nudos, enredos y apelmazamientos.
b) Parta el pelo y cepíllelo en secciones de 1 pulgada (2.5 cm) -cepille desde la piel
hacia afuera.

a) Moje bien al perro.
b) Aplique champú y forme una buena espuma.
c) Preste especial atención al recto y a las almohadillas (la parte de abajo de las
patas).
d) Tenga cuidado de que no entre jabón en los ojos del perro (para mayor seguridad
use un champú sin irritantes).
e) Enjuague abundantemente.
f) Seque con toalla
g) Esponje el pelo, o cepíllelo y séquelo.
• Comience con las patas usando un cepillo de alambre y subiendo hacia el cuerpo.
• Aplique la secadora directamente al área que está cepillando. Seque una parte a
la vez.
• Use pasadas ligeras para esponjar.
• No debe haber enredos ni nudos cuando termine.
Al añadir un peine guía a su cortadora podrá cortar el pelo con un largo uniforme.
Cortar contra el grano del pelo con un peine guía le dará un corte más corto que
cortar a favor del grano del pelo.
1) Apague la cortadora y, si su cortadora tiene una palanca guía, ajústela a la
posición “Fino”.
2) Sosteniendo el accesorio de cuchilla en la palma de la mano, inserte los sujetado-
res laterales de resorte en la cuchilla inferior.
3) Deslice el accesorio de cuchilla en su lugar.
4) Asegúrese de que el accesorio de cuchilla está instalado en la posición correcta
antes de operar la cortadora. Las cuchillas pueden dañarse seriamente su el ac-
cesorio de cuchilla puede entrar en los dientes de la cuchilla cuando la cortadora está
funcionando.
