Charging the hands-free car kit
Your hands-free car kit has an internal battery. Before using the hands-free car kit
for the rst time, you must charge the battery.
If you charge the hands-free car kit at very cold or hot temperatures, •
it automatically stops charging.
You cannot use the functions of the hands-free car kit while charging.

Plug the small end of the cigar lighter adapter into the Charger Jack.

Plug the large end of the cigar lighter adapter into the accessory outlet in your
vehicle.
3.
When the battery is fully charged (the indicator light turns blue), unplug the
cigar lighter adapter from the hands-free car kit.
You can also use the travel adapter to charge the hands-free car kit.•
About the low battery indicator•
When your battery is low, the indicator light will turn red. Recharge your battery
to continue using your hands-free car kit. If the battery level becomes too low,
the hands-free car kit will automatically power off. To turn it on, slide the Power
switch up again.
Checking the battery level
Press and hold the Talk button and the Volume down button at the same time.
Depending on the battery level, the indicator light ashes 5 times in one of the
following colors:

Slide the hands-free car kit onto a sun visor in your vehicle as shown below.

Using your hands-free car kit
This section explains how to turn the hands-free car kit on, pair and connect to the
phone, and use various functions.
Activated functions and features may differ depending on the phone type.•
Some devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by Bluetooth SIG, •
may be incompatible with your hands-free car kit.
Turning the hands-free car kit on or off
To turn the hands-free car kit on, slide the Power switch up. The blue indicator •
light ashes 4 times.
To turn the hands-free car kit off, slide the Power switch down. The indicator •
light turns off after the blue indicator light changes to red.

Using the voice prompt
The voice prompt willl inform you about the current status of the hands-free car kit
and usage instructions.
Changing the language for the voice prompt
If you turn the hands-free car kit on for the rst time, you will hear the voice prompt
to change the language for the voice prompt. When you hear the voice prompt in
the language you want, press the Talk button.
To change the language for the voice prompt in Pairing mode, press and hold the
Talk button for 4 seconds.
Turning the voice prompt on or off
In Pairing mode, press and hold the Volume up and down buttons at the same
time. To enter Pairing mode, see page 12.

Pairing and connecting the hands-free car kit
Pairing will create a unique and encrypted wireless link between two Bluetooth
enabled devices, such as a Bluetooth phone and a Bluetooth hands-free car kit.
To use the hands-free car kit with other Bluetooth devices, the devices must be
paired. When trying to pair the two devices, keep the hands-free car kit and the
phone reasonably close together. After pairing, you can connect the two devices.

Pairing and connecting the hands-free car kit with a phone
1.
Enter Pairing mode.
Turn on your hands-free car kit and press and hold the Talk button until the •
blue indicator light stays lit.
If you turn the hands-free car kit on for the rst time, it proceeds into Pairing •
mode immediately after the language for the voice prompt is selected.
2.
Activate the Bluetooth feature on your phone and search for the hands-free car
kit (see your phone’s user manual).
3.
Select the hands-free car kit (HF1000) from the list of devices found by your
phone.
4.
Enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to pair and connect the hands-free car
kit to your phone.
Your hands-free car kit supports the Simple Pairing feature which allows the
hands-free car kit to be paired with a phone without requesting a PIN. This feature is
available for phones that are compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 or higher.
The hands-free car kit also can be paired via the Active pairing feature,
see page 15.

Connecting with two Bluetooth phones
With the Multi-point feature activated, your hands-free car kit can be connected
with two Bluetooth phones at the same time.
1.
After connecting with the rst Bluetooth phone, press and hold the Talk button
until the blue indicator light stays lit.
2.
Press and hold the Volume up button to activate the Multi-point feature.
3.
Activate the Bluetooth feature on the second Bluetooth phone and search for
the hands-free car kit (see your phone’s user manual).
4.
Select the hands-free car kit (HF1000) from the list of devices found by the
second Bluetooth phone.
5.
Enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to connect the hands-free car kit to the
phone.
6.
Reconnect to the hands-free car kit from the rst Bluetooth phone.

You can set the hands-free car kit automatically to reconnect to the recently •
connected phones each time you turn it on.
To reconnect to the two most recently connected phones, activate the Multi-
-
point feature. Press and hold the Volume up button in Pairing mode until the
blue indicator light ashes twice.
To reconnect to only the most recently connected phone, deactivate the Multi-
-
point feature. Press and hold the Volume down button in Pairing mode until the
red indicator light ashes twice.
When the hands-free car kit connects to two Bluetooth phones, some phones may
•
not connect to the hands-free car kit as the second Bluetooth phone.
Disconnecting the hands-free car kit
To disconnect the hands-free car kit from your phone,
Turn off the hands-free car kit.•
Use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.•

Reconnecting the hands-free car kit
When the hands-free car kit is paired with a phone, it will attempt to automatically
reconnect each time you turn it on.
If the hands-free car kit does not automatically attempt to reconnect,
Press the Talk button.•
Use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.•
Pairing via the Active pairing feature
With the Active pairing feature, your hands-free car kit can automatically search for
a Bluetooth phone and try to make a connection with it.
This feature is available for mobile phones, but the phone’s Bluetooth visibility
option must be set to on.
1.
Turn on the hands-free car kit.
2.
Enter pairing mode, see page 11.
3.
Press and hold the Talk button until the violet indicator light turns on.
The hands-free car kit will switch to Active Pairing mode, search a Bluetooth
phone within range, and attempt to pair with it.

Ensure the phone you wish to connect to is within range of the hands-free car kit. •
Place the hands-free car kit and phone close to each other to avoid pairing with
other devices.
The hands-free car kit will attempt Active pairing for up to 20 seconds.
•
The Bluetooth phone you want to connect with must not be paired with other •
devices. If the phone is already connected to another device, end the connection
and restart Active pairing feature.
This feature may be unavailable depending on the some PDAs.

Using call functions
Making a call
Redialing the last number
Press and hold the Talk button to redial the last number of the most recently
connected phone.
Press the Talk button twice to redial the last number of the other phone.

Dialing a number by voice
Press the Talk button to dial a number of the rst phone by voice, and say a name.
Available call functions may vary by the phone.
Answering a call
Press the Talk button to answer a call when you hear incoming call tones.
When two calls from the two connected phones come in, you can answer the call
of the rst phone.
Ending a call
Press the Talk button to end a call.
Rejecting a call
Press and hold the Talk button to reject a call when a call comes in.
When two calls from the two connected phones come in, you can reject the call of
the rst phone.

Using options during a call
You can use the following functions to control your call during a call.
Adjusting the volume
Press the Volume up or down button to adjust the volume.
Muting the microphone
Press and hold the Volume up or down button to turn the microphone off so that
the person with whom you are speaking cannot hear you. When the microphone
is turned off, the hands-free car kit beeps at regular intervals. Press and hold the
Volume up or down button again to turn the microphone back on.
Transferring a call from the phone to the hands-free car kit
Press the Talk button to transfer a call from the phone to the hands-free car kit.
Placing a call on hold
Press and hold the Talk button to place the current call on hold.
When the hands-free car kit is connected with two phones, this function is not
available.

Answering a second call
Press the Talk button to end the rst call and answer a second call of the same •
phone when you hear call waiting tones.
Press and hold the Talk button to place the rst call on hold and answer a second •
call of the same phone when you hear call waiting tones.
To switch between the current call and the held call, press and hold the Talk •
button.
When the hands-free car kit is connected with two Bluetooth phones, you cannot
answer a second call of the same phone.
Answering a new call of the second phone
Press the Talk button to end the rst call and answer a second call of the other •
phone when you hear call waiting tones.
Press and hold the Talk button to place the rst call on hold and answer a second •
call of the other phone when you hear call waiting tones.
To switch between the current call and the held call, press and hold the Talk •
button.

Frequently asked questions
Will my hands-free car
kit work with laptops,
PCs, and PDAs?
Your hands-free car kit will work with devices that
support your hands-free car kit’s Bluetooth version
and proles. For specications, see page 31.
Why do I hear static or
interference while on
a call?
Appliances such as cordless phones and wireless
networking equipment may cause interference,
which usually sounds like static. To reduce any
interference, keep the hands-free car kit away from
other devices that use or produce radio waves.
Will my hands-free car
kit interfere with my
car’s electronics, radio,
or computer?
Your hands-free car kit produces signicantly less
power than a typical mobile phone. It also only emits
signals that are in compliance with the international
Bluetooth standard. Therefore, you should not
expect any interference with standard consumer-
grade electronics equipment.

Can other Bluetooth
phone users hear my
conversation?
When you pair your hands-free car kit to your
Bluetooth phone, you are creating a private link
between only these two Bluetooth devices. The
wireless Bluetooth technology used in your hands-
free car kit is not easily monitored by third parties
because Bluetooth wireless signals are signicantly
lower in radio frequency power than those produced
by a typical mobile phone.
Why do I hear an echo
while on a call?
Adjust the hands-free car kit volume, or move to
another area and try again.
How do I clean my
hands-free car kit?
Wipe it with a soft dry cloth.
The hands-free car kit
does not fully charge.
The hands-free car kit and the travel adapter may
not have been connected properly.
Separate the hands-free car kit from the travel
adapter, reconnect, and charge the hands-free
car kit.

What is Covered and For How Long?
SAMSUNG TELECOMMUNICATIONS AMERICA, LLC (“SAMSUNG”) warrants
to the original purchaser (“Purchaser”) that SAMSUNG’s phones and accessories
(“Products”) are free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use
and service for the period commencing upon the date of purchase and continuing
for the following specied period of time after that date:

What is Not Covered?
This Limited Warranty is conditioned upon proper use of Product by Purchaser.

to moisture or dampness, neglect, unusual physical, electrical or electromechanical
stress, or defects in appearance, cosmetic, decorative or structural items, including
framing, and any non-operative parts unless caused by SAMSUNG; (b) defects or
damage resulting from excessive force or use of a metallic object when pressing
on a touch screen; (c) equipment that has the serial number or the enhancement

What is Not Covered?
(d) any plastic surfaces or other externally exposed parts that are scratched or
damaged due to normal use; (e) malfunctions resulting from the use of Product
in conjunction or connection with accessories, products, or ancillary/peripheral
equipment not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG; (f) defects or damage from
improper testing, operation, main-tenance, installation, service, or adjustment
not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG; (g) defects or damage from external
causes such as collision with an object, or from re, ooding, sand, dirt, windstorm,
lightning, earthquake, or from exposure to weather conditions, or battery leakage,
theft, blown fuse, or improper use of any electrical source; (h) defects or damage
caused by cellular signal reception or transmission, or viruses or other software
problems introduced into the Product; (i) any other acts which are not the fault
of SAMSUNG; or (j) Product used or purchased outside the United States.
This Limited Warranty covers batteries only if battery capacity falls below 80%
of rated capacity or the battery leaks, and this Limited Warranty does not cover
any battery if (i) the battery has been charged by a battery charger not specied
or approved by SAMSUNG for charging the battery, (ii) any of the seals on the
battery are broken or show evidence of tampering, or (iii) the battery has been
used in equipment other than the SAMSUNG phone for which it is specied.

What are SAMSUNG's Obligations?
During the applicable warranty period, SAMSUNG will repair or replace, at
SAMSUNG’s sole option, without charge to Purchaser, any defective component
part of Product. To obtain service under this Limited Warranty, Purchaser must
return Product to an authorized phone service facility in an adequate container for
shipping, accompanied by Purchaser’s sales receipt or comparable substitute proof
of sale showing the original date of purchase, the serial number of Product and the
sellers’ name and address. To obtain assistance on where to deliver the Product,
call Samsung Customer Care at 1-888-987-4357. Upon receipt, SAMSUNG will
promptly repair or replace the defective Product. SAMSUNG may, at SAMSUNG’s
sole option, use rebuilt, reconditioned, or new parts or components when repairing
any Product or replace Product with a rebuilt, reconditioned or new Product.
Repaired/replaced cases, pouches and holsters will be warranted for a period of
ninety (90) days. All other repaired/replaced Product will be warranted for a period
equal to the re-mainder of the original Limited Warranty on the original Product
or for 90 days, whichever is longer. All replaced parts, components, boards and
equipment shall become the property of SAMSUNG. If SAMSUNG determines that
any Product is not covered by this Limited Warranty, Purchaser must pay all parts,
shipping, and labor charges for the repair or return of such Product.

This Limited Warranty allocates risk of Product failure between Purchaser and
SAMSUNG, and SAMSUNG’s Product pricing reects this allocation of risk and

Carga del kit manos libres para el vehículo
El kit manos libres para el vehículo cuenta con una batería interna. Antes de
utilizar el kit manos libres para el vehículo por primera vez, debe cargar la batería.
Si carga el kit manos libres para el vehículo a temperaturas muy bajas o muy •
altas, se detiene la carga automáticamente.
No puede usar las funciones del kit manos libres para el vehículo mientras se carga.

Conecte el extremo pequeño del adaptador del encendedor a la toma
del cargador.

Conecte el extremo grande del adaptador del encendedor a la toma
de accesorios del vehículo.

Cuando la batería esté cargada por completo (la luz indicadora se vuelve azul),
desconecte el adaptador del encendedor del kit manos libres para el vehículo.

Acerca del indicador de batería baja

Cuando la batería esté baja, la luz indicadora se volverá roja. Vuelva a cargar la batería
para continuar utilizando el kit manos libres para el vehículo. Si el nivel de carga de la
batería está muy bajo, el kit manos libres para el vehículo se apagará automáticamente.
Para encenderlo, deslice el interruptor de encendido y apagado hacia arriba.
Control del nivel de la batería

de encendido y apagado hacia abajo. La luz indicadora se apaga después

para el vehículo y de las instrucciones de uso.
Cambio del idioma de las indicaciones de voz
Si enciende el kit manos libres para el vehículo por primera vez, escuchará
indicaciones de voz para cambiar el idioma de las mismas. Cuando escuche
las indicaciones de voz en el idioma que desea, presione el botón Hablar.
Para cambiar el idioma de las indicaciones de voz en el modo de vinculación,
mantenga presionado el botón Hablar durante 4 segundos.
Activación y desactivación de las indicaciones de voz
En el modo de vinculación, mantenga presionados al mismo tiempo los botones

La vinculación crea un vínculo inalámbrico codicado y único entre dos dispositivos
Bluetooth, como un teléfono Bluetooth y un kit manos libres para el vehículo Bluetooth.
Para utilizar un kit manos libres para el vehículo con otros dispositivos Bluetooth,
ambos deben vincularse. Cuando intente vincular los dos dispositivos, mantenga
el kit manos libres para el vehículo y el teléfono a una distancia razonable.
Después de vincularlos, puede encender ambos dispositivos.

un teléfono
1.
Ingrese al modo de vinculación.
Encienda el kit manos libres para el vehículo y mantenga presionado el •
botón Hablar hasta que la luz indicadora azul permanezca encendida.
Si enciende el kit manos libres para el vehículo por primera vez, se ingresa •
al modo de vinculación inmediatamente una vez seleccionado el idioma
de las indicaciones de voz.
2.
Active la función de Bluetooth en el teléfono y busque el kit manos libres para
el vehículo (consulte el manual del usuario del teléfono).
3.
Seleccione el kit manos libres para el vehículo (HF1000) de la lista de
dispositivos encontrados por el teléfono.
4.
Introduzca el PIN de Bluetooth (0000, 4 ceros) para conectar el kit manos
libres para el vehículo al teléfono.
El kit manos libres para el vehículo admite la función de vinculación simple que
permite que el kit manos libres para el vehículo se vincule con un teléfono sin
necesidad de un PIN. Esta función está disponible cuando el teléfono es compatible
con Bluetooth versión 2.1 o superior.

Conexión con dos teléfonos Bluetooth
Con la función de varios puntos activada, es posible conectar el kit manos libres
para el vehículo con dos teléfonos Bluetooth al mismo tiempo.
1.
Después de realizar la conexión con el primer teléfono Bluetooth, mantenga
presionado el botón Hablar hasta que la luz indicadora azul permanezca

Cuando el kit manos libres para el vehículo se conecta con un teléfono, cada
vez que vuelva a encenderlo, intentará volverse a conectar automáticamente.
Si el kit manos libres para el vehículo no intenta volver a conectarse
automáticamente:
Presione el botón Hablar.•
Utilice el menú de Bluetooth de su teléfono.•
Vinculación mediante la función de vinculación activa
Con la función de vinculación activa, el kit manos libres para el vehículo puede
buscar automáticamente un teléfono Bluetooth e intentar conectarse a él.
Esta función está disponible para teléfonos móviles, pero la opción de visibilidad
de Bluetooth del teléfono debe estar activada.

Encienda el kit manos libres para el vehículo.
2.
Ingrese al modo de vinculación. Consulte la página 43.
3.
Mantenga presionado el botón Hablar hasta que la luz indicadora violeta
se encienda.

buscará un teléfono Bluetooth dentro del alcance e intentará vincularse con él.

Producto. Para obtener servicio en virtud de esta garantía limitada, el comprador debe
enviar el Producto a una instalación de servicio autorizada en un paquete adecuado
para su envío, acompañado por el recibo de compra del Comprador o una evidencia
de compra comparable donde aparezca la fecha de compra, el número de serie del
Producto y el nombre y la dirección del vendedor. Para obtener información sobre a

GARANTÍA LIMITADA ESTÁNDAR– SEGUIDA
Al recibirlo, SAMSUNG reparará o reemplazará el Producto defectuoso
oportunamente. SAMSUNG puede, a su discreción única, usar piezas o
componentes reacondicionados, reconstruidos o nuevos para las reparaciones
de cualquier Producto o bien, reemplazarlo con un producto reacondicionado,
reconstruido o nuevo. Los estuches, las bolsas y los portateléfonos de cuero que
se hayan reparado o reemplazado estarán garantizados por un periodo de noventa
(90) días. Los otros Productos reparados o reemplazados tendrán una garantía
por un período equivalente al resto de la Garantía Limitada original del producto
original o por 90 días, lo que sea más. Todas las piezas, los componentes,
las tarjetas y el equipo de reposición pasarán a ser propiedad de SAMSUNG.
Si SAMSUNG determina que un producto no está cubierto por esta Garantía
Limitada, el comprador deberá pagar todos los cargos por concepto de piezas,
envío y mano de obra por la reparación o devolución de dicho Producto.

Esta Garantía Limitada distribuye el riesgo de las fallas del Producto entre el
Comprador y SAMSUNG y la estructura de precios de los Productos SAMSUNG
reeja esta asignación distribuida de riesgo y las limitaciones de la responsabilidad
contenidas en esta Garantía Limitada. Los representantes, empleados, distribuidores
y concesionarios de SAMSUNG no están autorizados para modicar esta Garantía
Limitada ni para otorgar garantías adicionales vinculantes para SAMSUNG.
