How-To-Use
Materials:
• Safety glasses and gloves
• Standard caulk gun
• Cartridge of Sikaex Construction Sealant
• Utility knife
• Small spatula
Procedure
1. Make sure that all surfaces are clean, structurally sound, and
dry. Remove all dirt, oil, moisture, and/or old sealant that may
adversely affect the adhesion of the sealant. If joint or crack depth
exceeds 1/2”, use Sika backer rod to control joint depth. For mov-
ing joints, use a backer rod to avoid three-point bonding.
2. Cut the tip of the nozzle at a 45° angle to the desired bead size,
then puncture the seal inside of the nozzle and place the cartridge
into a caulking gun.
3. Wearing protective gloves and safety goggles, hold the gun at a
45° angle and squeeze the gun handle to start the ow of sealant.
One 10.1 .oz. cartridge yields 24 linear feet of sealant in a 1/4”
bead.
4. Force the sealant into the gap or crack and smooth the bead to a
desired shape using a spatula.
5. Clean up all tools, spills, and excess material with clean rags after
use. If necessary, use a paint thinner or other approved solvent,
such as acetone, following the solvent manufacturer’s precau-
tions.

Procedure
1. Asegure que toda supercie este limpia, sana y seca. Remueva todo
el mugre, aceite, humedad y selladores viejos, que puedan afectar or
impedir la adhesión del sellador. Si la profundidad de la junta or grieta
excede media pulgada, coloque un fondo de junta para controlar la
profundidad. En juntas de dilatación, el Sika Backer Rod ayuda a
prevenir la adherencia del sellador a tres caras de la junta.
2. Corte la punta de la boquilla en un ángulo de 45° al tamaño de cordón
de una cuarta pulgada de diámetro.
3. Utilizando guantes y gafas de seguridad, sostenga la pistola en ángulo
de 45° y comienze a dispensar el sellador. Un cartucho de 10.1 onzas
uidas rinde 24 pies lineales de un cordón de una cuarta pulgada de
diámetro.
4. Coloque la boquilla en la junta y rellene completamente. Termine el
cordón de sellador con una espátula dándole la forma deseada.
5. Después de su uso, limpie toda herramienta, derrames y exceso de
material con paños limpios. Si es necesario, se puede utilizar un
solvente apropriado, como acetona, siguiendo las normas de uso del
fabricante.
