are a part of the product. They contain important

information about the safety, use and disposal of

the product. Before using the product, please learn

about all the safety information and usage instruc-

tions. Only use the product as described and for

the speciﬁed applications. If you lend the product

to someone else, please also give all the instructions.

The product is intended to measure body weight.

The product has a capacity of 396 lb / 28 st

(180 kg). The product is suitable for indoor use

Safety warnings

for batteries

When used correctly, cells and

batteries provide

a safe and

dependable source of portable

ower. However, if they are mis-

used or abused, this may result in

leakage, burns, ﬁre, or explosion.

Store batteries in a dry place at

room temperature. Batteries are

sensitive to high and low tem-

peratures. Such thermal expo-

sure may lead to leakage, ﬁre,

or explosion.

Keep cells and batteries out of

reach of children, especially small

batteries. Ingestion may lead to

choking or acute and serious

personal injury.

Keep cells or batteries clean

and dry both during use and

storage. Wipe metal terminals

with a soft, dry cloth if they

become dirty.

Immediately seek medical atten-

tion if a cell or battery has been

swallowed. Also, contact your

local poison control center.

In the event that the electrolyte

comes into contact with the skin

or eyes, immediately ﬂush with

fresh water for at least 15 minutes

and seek medical attention.

Store unused batteries in their

original packaging or in safe

place and away from metal ob-

jects that may short-circuit them.

Exercise care in handling batteries

in order to prevent shorting with

conducting materials, such as

rings, coins, bracelets, and keys.

The battery or the conductor can

overheat and cause burns, leak-

age, ﬁre, or explosion.

Clean the battery contacts and

also those of the product prior to

battery installation. Keep the

contacts clean.

Remove batteries from the prod-

uct that will not be used for an

extended period of time (months

or longer).

Remove discharged batteries

from product promptly to avoid

possible damage from leakage.

Choose the proper battery for

the intended application.

Always take care to correctly in-

sert batteries observing (+) and

(-) polarity marks on the battery

and the product for which it is

intended. Proper polarity must

be observed to avoid damage

to either product or batteries.

Never heat batteries in order to

revive them.

the battery label speciﬁcally states

the battery is rechargeable.

Charging a non-rechargeable

battery, may result in leakage,

ﬁre, or explosion.

Do not open or mutilate a battery

or cell. Electrolyte from the cell is

corrosive and can cause damage

to the eyes or skin. The cell con-

tents can also be hazardous if

ingested.

Do not drop or subject the cell

or battery to strong mechanical

shock.

Batteries should not be disas-

sembled, crushed, punctured, or

otherwise mutilated. Such

abuses may result in leakage,

ﬁre, or explosion.

Do not dispose of the battery in

Before ﬁrst use

Remove all packaging materials from the

product.

1. Turn the product over and place it on a soft

underlay to avoid scratching the surface.

2. Remove the screw on the battery cover 5.

3. Open the battery compartment 4 at the back

of the product by pushing the battery cover

clip 6 on the battery cover 5 toward the

battery compartment 4 and lifting oﬀ the

battery cover 5.

4. Remove the insulating strip 7 under the

battery.

5. Reattach the battery cover 5 to the battery

compartment 4. Be sure to insert the retaining

pin on the battery cover 5 into the notch on

the edge of the battery compartment 4.

Firmly press the battery cover 5 into the bat-

tery compartment 4 until you hear it lock into

place.

6. Lock the battery cover 5 with the screw.

Replacing the battery

1. Turn the product over and place it on a soft

underlay to avoid scratching the surface.

2. Replace the battery when the product is not in

use.

3. Open the battery compartment 4 as described

under „Initial use“.

4. To remove the drained battery, pull the locking

tab 8 until the battery is automatically released.

Remove the battery from the battery compart-

ment 4.

Note: The LC display 1 will show when to

replace the battery. If the battery is low, the LC

display 1 will display “Lo” (see Fig.) when

standing on the product and the product will

automatically switch oﬀ.

Note: When the product displays “Lo”, replace

the drained battery with a new battery of the

type speciﬁed under „Technical data“.

5. Insert a new battery in the battery compartment

4. Be sure to insert the battery correctly, with

the “+” pole up. The battery must be pushed

into the battery compartment 4 until secured

in place by the locking tab 8.

6. Close the battery compartment 4 as described

under „Initial use“. Lock the battery cover 5

with the screw.

Setting the unit of weight

Note: The standard unit of weight is pound (lb).

The factory default setting for the product as sup-

plied is “lb”.

Press the lb / st / kg button 3 to select the unit

of weight. The units will be displayed in the LC

display 1 as follows:

Pound (lb): see Figure

Stone (st): see Figure

Kilogram (kg): see Figure

Switching On Your Product/

Weighing Yourself

Tip: Weigh yourself at the same time of day

(preferably in the morning) after using the toilet, on

an empty stomach and without clothing to ensure

that your results are comparable.

Set the product on a solid, ﬂat and level surface.

Step on to the product.

Place even weight on each leg.

If at all possible stand on the same areas of the

platform each time and do not move. Moving

during the weighing process can lead to dis-

crepancies in the results.

The product will start to measure immediately.

After blinking 3 times, the weight display will

display the result, as shown in, for example,

Fig.

Note: If the product shows “oL” (see Fig.), it

signals that the product is overloaded. Do not

exceed the maximum capacity of 396 lb /

28 st / 180 kg.

Step oﬀ the platform 2. The product will auto-

matically switch oﬀ after about 10 seconds.

Until then it will continue to show the weight.

Note: The product must be recalibrated after

changing locations and after changing the

battery. To do this, proceed as follows:

Step onto the product. The product will show

you an incorrect measuring result. Step oﬀ the

platform 2. The product will automatically

calibrate.

Wait until the product switches oﬀ automati-

cally.

Step onto the product again. The product will

now show the correct weight.

Troubleshooting

This product has delicate electronic components.

This means that if it is placed near an object that

transmits radio signals, it could cause interfer-

ence. If the LC display 1 indicates a problem,

move such objects away from it.

Electrostatic charge can cause the product to

fail. If the product fails to work, remove the

batteries brieﬂy and reinsert.

Cleaning

Never immerse the product in

water or other liquids. Ignoring this advice may

damage the product.

Clean the product with a slightly moist cloth.

For tough dirt dirt you can also apply a weak

soap solution to the cloth.

Disposal

Dispose of the packaging through your

local recycling facilities and in compliance

with all federal, state and local regulations.

Please note the package markings

regarding waste separation, indicated

by abbreviations (a) and numbers (b),

meaning: 1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper

and cardboard / 80–98: composite

materials.

Contact your local waste management

authority for additional information on

how to dispose of the used product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of

the product properly when it has reached the end

of its useful life, do not throw in the garbage. Infor-

mation on collection sites and their opening hours

is available from your local authority.

Improper disposal of batteries can

damage the environment!

Never throw batteries in the garbage. They may

contain toxic heavy metals and must be handled as

special waste. The chemical symbols of heavy met-

als are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.

Used batteries should therefore be disposed of

through a local collection point.

Three year limited warranty

What does this warranty cover?

The warranty covers:

· Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.

· Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or

failure to follow the safety and maintenance

instructions provided in the user manual.

What is not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

· Normal wear and tear of the product, including

fragile parts (such as switches, glass, etc.);

· Improper use or transport;

· Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;

· Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, ﬁre,

water, etc.);

· Tampering with the product (such as removing

cover, unscrewing screws etc.).

Consequential and incidental damages are also

not covered under this warranty. However, some

states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of in-

cidental or consequential damages, so this limitation

or exclusion may not apply to you.

What is the period of coverage and

warranty resolution?

The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase.

At our discretion, product will either be refunded or

replaced.

What will we not do?

We will not:

· Start a new warranty period upon product ex-

change;

· Repair product.

las terminales metálicas con un

para el control de intoxicaciones.

En caso de que el electrolito en-

tre en contacto con la piel o los

Almacene las baterías no usa-

das en su empaque original o

en un lugar seguro y alejadas

de objetos metálicos que puedan

provocarles cortocircuito.

Tenga cuidado al manipular la

baterías para evitar que haya

cortocircuito con materiales

conductores, como anillos,

moneras, pulseras y llaves. La

batería o el conductor se pue-

den sobrecalentar y provocar

quemaduras, chorreaduras,

incendio o explosión.

Limpie los contactos de la batería,

tanto en la batería como en el

producto antes de instalar la ba-

tería. Mantenga los contactos

limpios.

Retire la baterías del producto si

no se va a usar por un periodo

prolongado de tiempo (meses o

más).

Retire la baterías agotadas del

producto tan pronto como sea

posible para evitar posibles

daños por fugas.

Elija la batería adecuada para

la aplicación prevista.

Retire todos los materiales de empaque del

1. Voltee el producto y colóquelo sobre una su-

perﬁcie suave para evitar rayar la superﬁcie.

2. Retire el tornillo del compartimiento de las

baterías 5.

3. Abra el compartimiento de la batería 4 en la

parte trasera del producto presionando la len-

güeta 6 en la cubierta 5 hacia el comparti-

miento 4 y levantándola hacia la cubierta del

compartimiento de la batería 5.

4. Retire la tira aislante 7 debajo de la batería.

5. Vuelva a colocar la cubierta del comparti-

miento de la batería 5 en el compartimiento

4. Asegúrese de insertar la espiga de la cu-

bierta del compartimiento de la batería 5 en

la muesca del compartimiento 4.

Presione ﬁrmemente la cubierta del comparti-

miento de la batería 5 en el compartimiento

4 hasta que escuche que queda asegurada.

6. Asegure la cubierta del compartimiento de las

baterías 5 con el tornillo.

Reemplazar la batería

2. Reemplace la batería cuando el producto no

esté en uso.

3. Abra el compartimiento de la batería 4 como

se describe en el capítulo „Primer uso“.

4. Retire la batería agotada jalando la pestaña

de bloqueo 8 hasta que la batería se salga

sola. Saque la batería del compartimiento 4.

Nota: la pantalla LC 1 indicará cuándo

cambiar la batería. Al estar parado sobre el

producto y si la batería está baja, la pantalla

LC 1 mostrará „Lo“ (véase la ﬁg.) y el pro-

ducto se apagará automáticamente.

Nota: cuando el producto muestre „Lo“,

reemplace la batería agotada con una nueva

batería del tipo especiﬁcado en „Datos técnicos“.

5. Inserte una batería nueva en el compartimiento

para la batería 4. Asegúrese de que la batería

se inserta correctamente, con el polo „+“ hacia

arriba. La batería se debe empujar dentro del

compartimiento de la batería 4 hasta que

quede asegurada por la pestaña de bloqueo

6. Cierre el compartimiento de la batería 4

como se describe en el capítulo „Primer uso“.

Asegure la cubierta del compartimiento de las

baterías 5 con el tornillo.

Establecer las unidades

de peso

Nota: la unidad estándar de peso es la libra (lb).

La unidad que viene de fábrica para el producto

es “lb”.

Presione el botón lb / st / kg 3 para seleccio-

nar la unidad de peso. Las unidades se mostra-

rán en la pantalla LC 1 como a continuación:

Libra (lb): véase la ﬁgura

Stone (st): véase la ﬁgura

Kilogramo (kg): véase la ﬁgura

Prender el producto /

medir el peso

Consejo: pésese a la misma hora del día (de

preferencia en la mañana) después de ir al baño,

con el estómago vacío y sin ropa para garantizar

que sus resultados sean comparables.

Coloque el producto sobre una superﬁcie

sólida, horizontal y plana.

Párese sobre el producto.

Distribuya su peso en cada pierna.

De ser posible, párese en las mismas zonas de

la plataforma cada vez y no se mueva. Si se

mueve durante el proceso se pueden producir

discrepancias en los resultados.

El producto comenzará a medir inmediatamente.

Después de parpadear 3 veces, la pantalla

mostrará el resultado, como se muestra, por

ejemplo, en la ﬁg.

Nota: si el producto muestra „oL”, signiﬁca

que el producto tiene exceso de peso. No su-

pere la capacidad máxima de 396 lb / 28 st /

180 kg.

Bájese de la plataforma 2. El producto se

apaga automáticamente después de 10 segun-

dos. Hasta entonces, el peso se mantendrá

visible.

Nota: después de cambiarla de posición y

de cada cambio de batería, se debe volver a

calibrar el producto. Para hacerlo, realice lo

Resolución de problemas

Este producto cuenta con componentes electró-

nicos delicados. Esto signiﬁca que podrían pro-

ducirse interferencias si se coloca cerca de un

objeto que transmite señales de radio. Si la

pantalla LC 1 indica un problema, aleje los

objetos de él.

La descarga electrostática puede provocar que

el producto falle. En caso de que el producto

deje de funcionar, retire las baterías durante

un breve momento y vuelva a colocarlas.

Limpieza

Nunca sumerja al producto

en agua u otros líquidos. De lo contrario, se

puede dañar el producto.

Limpie el producto con un paño ligeramente

húmedo. Para las manchas más persistentes,

también puede usar una solución jabonosa

suave en el trapo.

Eliminación

Deshágase del empaque mediante sus

instalaciones de reciclaje locales y de

acuerdo con las regulaciones federales,

estatales y locales.

Observe las señales del material de

empaque para la separación de residuos,

los cuales están señalados con abrevia-

turas (a) y números (b) que signiﬁcan lo

siguiente: 1–7: plásticos / 20–22: papel

y tablero de ﬁbra / 80–98: materiales

mixtos.

desechos para mayor información sobre

cómo desechar su producto

desgastado.

Las baterías no deben ser eliminadas con los

desechos del hogar. Éstas pueden contener metales

pesados tóxicos y requieren ser tratadas como

desechos especiales. Los símbolos químicos de los

metales pesados son: Cd = Cadmio, HG = Mercurio,

Pb = Plomo. Por esta razón es importante eliminar

las baterías usadas en un punto de recolección

local.

Garantía limitada de 3 años

Lo que cubre la presente garantía

La garantía incluye:

· Daños, quebraduras o incapacidad para funcionar

debido a defectos.

· Daños que no hayan sido causados por el desgaste

propio del uso o por no seguir las instrucciones

de seguridad y mantención incluidas en el manual

para el usuario.

Lo que no cubre esta garantía

La garantía no cubre daños causados por:

· El desgaste propio del uso del producto, incluidas

las partes frágiles (como interruptores, piezas de

vidrio, etc.).

· Uso o transporte no indicado del producto.

· Desatención a las instrucciones de seguridad y

mantención.

· Accidentes o causas de fuerza mayor (e.g.

relámpagos, incendio, inundación, etc.).

· Manipulación mal intencionada del producto

(retirar la cubierta, tornillos, etc.).

La presente garantía tampoco cubre daños indirec-

tos o emergentes. Sin embargo algunos estados no

permiten la exclusión o limitación de daños indirec-

Período de cobertura y resolución de la

garantía

La garantía es válida por 3 años a partir de la

conveniente, devolverá el dinero o repondrá el

La empresa no:
