Swing latch
to release handle.
Depress to
retract blade.
OPERATION:
Release the handle swing latch to separate handles. Depress the blade release to
fully open the blade. Insert pipe or tubing squarely into the saddle. Squeeze the
pivoting handle fully to engage the blade, then relax to allow ratcheting. Repeat until
blade is through the pipe.
HELPFUL HINTS:
To prevent cracking of cold pipe - warm pipe (no direct ame) and use slow, even
strokes. Apply light oil on mechanism to prevent rusting and reduce friction. Rotate
shears slightly around very exible thin pipe or tubing to assist in cutting.
REPLACE BLADE:
Caution: Blade removal and replacement
involves maneuvering and handling the
loose blade. Use extreme caution when
handling the blade. Release the handle
latch to separate handles. Depress the
blade release to fully open the blade.
Using small nose pliers, gently remove
the extension spring hook from the blade.
Remove blade screw, wavy washer, and
blade pivot nut from the opposite side.
Carefully remove the blade from the body.
Assemble the new blade into the body
and replace blade pivot nut, screw and
wavy washer. While making sure the blade
is in the open position, carefully replace
the extension spring hook into the blade
hole. Test cut a piece of plastic pipe or tube to make sure of proper tool operation.
RESHARPEN BLADE:
Sharpen with ne, hard whetstone held at 30-degree angle to blade. Sharpen evenly
on both sides of cutting edge so tool cuts easily. If blade cuts crooked, sharpen side
toward which blade deects. Draw stone into blade, not away.
CAUTION:
Wear eye protection when cutting cold or brittle plastics. Pipe can
crack or shatter causing possible eye injury. Keep ngers clear when
cutting. Blade is sharp! Pick up and hold tool by the handles. When
not using shears, leave blade in the fully advanced (closed) position to prevent dam-
age to blade and hands. Latch handles together for storage.

Gire el pestillo para

FUNCIONAMIENTO:
Suelte el enganche del mango para separar asas. Presionar el liberador de la hoja
para abrirla completamente. Inserte el tubo o tubería en ángulo recto en el bastidor.
Presione completamente la palanca giratoria para enganchar la cuchilla, luego relájela
para permitir el trinquete. Repita hasta que la cuchilla pase por la tubería.
CONSEJOS ÚTILES:
Para evitar el agrietamiento de la tubería fría, caliente la tubería (sin llama directa) y
aplique golpes lentos y suaves.
Aplique aceite suave en el mecanismo para prevenir la oxidación y reducir la fricción.
Gire levemente las cizallas alrededor de los tubos o tubería delgada y muy exible para
ayudar al corte
SUSTITUCIÓN DE HOJA:
Advertencia: La remoción y sustitución de la
cuchilla implica maniobrar y manejar la hoja
suelta.Tenga mucho cuidado al manipular la
cuchilla. Suelte el enganche del mango para
separar las asas. Presione el desbloqueador
de la hoja para abrir completamente la hoja.
Usando alicates de punta na, quite suave-
mente el gancho del resorte de extensión de
la hoja. Retire del lado opuesto el tornillo de
la hoja, la arandela ondulada y el perno gi-
ratorio de la hoja. Retire cuidadosamente la
hoja del cuerpo. Coloque la nueva hoja en el
cuerpo y vuelva a colocar el perno giratorio
de la hoja, el tornillo y la arandela ondulada.
Asegurándose de que la cuchilla esté en la posición abierta, coloque cuidadosamente el
gancho del resorte de extensión en el agujero de la hoja. Pruebe cortar un trozo de tubo
o tubo de plástico para asegurarse de que la herramienta funcione correctamente.
AFILAR LA HOJA:
Ale con una piedra de alar na y dura en un ángulo de 30 grados de la hoja. Ale
uniformemente en ambos lados del lo de corte para que la herramienta se corte fácil-
mente. Si la hoja se corta torcida, ale el lado hacia el que se desvía la hoja.
Arrastre la piedra en la hoja, no afuera.
PRECAUCIÓN:
Utilice protección para los ojos cuando corte plásticos fríos o quebradizos.
El tubo se puede agrietar o fragmentar, causando posibles lesiones en los
ojos. Mantenga los dedos libres al cortar. ¡La hoja está alada! Levante
y sostenga la herramienta por la empuñadura. Cuando no use tijeras, deje la hoja en
posición totalmente avanzada (cerrada) para evitar daños en la hoja y las manos. Para
guardarla, trabe las asas.
