Pre-Installation
PLANNING INSTALLATION
For the best result, locate the solar panel in a position where it receives direct sunlight and is generally free from cover and shade.
Be aware and consider foliage and building overhangs, which will affect the solar panel’s ability to charge.
Mount the solar panel in a position that will enable the maximum amount of light to be absorbed.
In the Northern Hemisphere this is usually south facing.

Installing the solar panel
□ Place the solar panel mounting bracket (B) on the desired
wall.
□ Mark with a pencil, the four pre-drilled holes in the
mounting bracket on the wall.
□ Utilize a standard power drill to create the mounting holes.

Installing the motion light
□ Once the Quick-Clip mounting bracket (CC) is installed,
ensure all the screws are tightly fastened. The 48 LED
Motion Light is now ready to be positioned into place.
□ Place the light hook (pre-installed on the back of the light)
over the mounting bracket. At this point, a click will be
heard as the light secures into place.

Connecting the solar panel

□ Insert the wire plug from the solar panel to the motion light
socket located underneath the battery housing.
□ The 48 LED Solar Motion Light is now installed and ready
to charge.

Charging the battery
□ Before the 48 LED Solar Motion Light can operate to its full
capacity, the solar panel needs to be in sunlight for 3 days
to fully charge the included battery. Charge the unit in the
“OFF” position.

Using the motion light switch
□ Turn the switch to the “AUTO” position, once the battery
is fully charged. Then the light will turn on automatically
at night when motion is detected by the motion detector
head.

Using the control dials
The 48 LED Solar Motion Light has 3 different control dials, which
control the light’s duration, sensitivity to light, and sensitivity to
motion.
1. SENS (Sensitivity)
This dial determines the range of motion detection.
2. TIME
This dial sets the duration of illumination time.
3. LUX (Light level)
This dial tells the sensor the level of darkness that must be
reached before the light turns on.
□ If set to the sensor will trigger the light to turn on in the
daytime.
□ If set to the sensor will only trigger the light to turn on
at dusk or when it is dark. This is the ideal position for
general usage.

detection. This feature allows a limited time of constant
illumination.

Adjusting the LUX Dial Setting
□ When installing and setting up the motion light it is
important to consider potential ambient light that may
affect the motion light’s performance.
1) Street or decorative lights can inuence the light’s LUX
sensor. Some alteration of the LUX dial may be required
dependant on the placement of the light.
2) If the light fails to illuminate at night, it is advisable to
consider the inuence of other forms of light and adjust the
LUX dial clockwise away from the image of the MOON. This
process may require multiple adjustments.

Replacing the battery
□ The battery pack is located in back of the light’s battery
housing.
□ Turn the switch to the “OFF” position. Remove the four
screws from the battery housing. Separate the battery
pack connector. Remove the old battery pack and replace
it with a new identical rechargeable battery pack.
□ Replace the cover of the battery housing and
secure it with the four screws.

NOTE: Some seasonal adjustments to both the solar
panel and LUX dial may be required.
Summer generally has longer periods of daylight. In
this case, the LUX dial should be turned accordingly.
This change is best achieved at dusk and the LUX dial
should be moved clockwise away from the MOON
image (see image below).
Throughout the winter, the solar panel should be
adjusted to maximize sun exposure during periods of
decreased sun exposure. A general rule is to position
the panel to face the midday sun.

Maintenance
Periodically check the connection from the solar panel to the light. Ensure this plug is correctly inserted.
□ Some seasonal adjustment of the solar panel may be required to offset shorter charge days during the winter.
□ Ensure the solar panel is free from any obstruction such as trees or buildings.
Care and Cleaning
□ The solar panel should be cleaned on a regular basis. This will ensure the 48 LED Solar Motion light charges consistently.
□ To clean the solar panel, use a damp cotton cloth. Never use any abrasive materials or cleaning products.
□ The lens of the LED light should also be cleaned with a damp cotton cloth. This ensures a clear illumination.

Why does the 48 LED Solar Motion Light not illuminate at night? □ Adjust the LUX dial clockwise to allow the motion light to turn on
at a lower darkness level and compensate for potential ambient
light. See Steps 3 & 4 under the Operation section of this manual.
If this does not x the issue, refer to the last solution of this
troubleshooting guide to reset the light.
Why does the 48 LED Solar Motion Light come on during the day? □ Adjust the LUX dial counter-clockwise to trigger the light at a higher
ambient darkness level. See Steps 3 & 4 under the Operation section
of this manual.
Why does the 48 LED Solar Motion Light come on for no reason? □ If this occurs, decrease the sensitivity setting by adjusting the
SENS dial counter clockwise.
What should I do if the 48 LED Solar Motion fails to turn off? □ The motion light should be used in the AUTO position. See Step 2
under the Operation section of this manual to identify how to
use the ON/OFF/AUTO switch.
What should I do if the 48 LED Solar Motion Light appears to
“strobe” or ash?
□ Turn the 48 LED Solar Motion Light to the “OFF” position. Allow
the battery to recharge for two full sunny days. At the end of the
second day, turn the light to the “AUTO” position. See Steps 3
& 4 under the Operation section of this manual to conrm the
light’s LUX dial settings. The 48 LED Solar Motion Light should
now work as required.
Will decorative or street lights have an effect on the 48 LED Solar
Motion Light’s ability to operate?
□ Yes, the sensor of the 48 LED Solar Motion Light is light sensitive.
For nighttime usage, ensure no other light activates the motion
sensor.
Does the solar panel require direct sun to charge? □ Mount the solar panel in a position that will enable the maximum
amount of light to be absorbed. In the Northern hemisphere this
is usually south facing. Refer to Planning Installation on page 3.
Where should the solar panel be mounted? □ Mount the solar panel in a position that will enable the maximum

Problem Solution
What is the reset procedure for the 48 LED Solar Motion Light? 1. Turn the main switch to OFF.
2. Turn all three dials completely clockwise.
3. Turn the main switch to ON for 2 seconds and back to OFF.
4. Turn the LUX dial completely counter-clockwise.
5. Let the light recharge for 2 days.
6. Turn the main switch to Auto again. Observe if the light resumes
normal operation at nighttime.
7. If at night the unit is still not responding to motion, slowly turn
the LUX dial clockwise until the unit is activated. This last step
will further adjust the light sensitivity to the surrounding environment.

La lámpara solar de 48 LED tiene 3 perillas de ajuste
que controlan el alcance de detección, la duración de la
iluminación y la sensibilidad a la luz.
1. SENS
Esta perilla determina el alcance de detección de

2. TIME
Esta perilla ajusta la duración de iluminación al ser
activada la lámpara.
3. LUX
Esta perilla dicta el grado de oscuridad requerida por el
sensor para activar la lámpara.
□ Hacia el ícono el sensor activará la lámpara durante
el día.
□ Hacia el ícono el sensor sólo activará la lámpara al
anochecer o cuando esté oscuro. Esta es la posición ideal
para uso general.

Ajuste de la perilla de control de LUX
□ Al instalar y congurar su lámpara de monitoreo es
importante considerar posible luz ambiental que pueda
afectar su desempeño.
1) Las luces de la calle o decorativas pueden inuenciar el
sensor LUX de la lámpara. Puede ser necesario algún ajuste
de la perilla LUX dependiendo de la ubicación de la lámpara.
2) Si la lámpara no se ilumina en la noche, se recomienda
considerar la inuencia de otras formas de luz y ajustar la
perilla LUX hacia la derecha, alejándola así del ícono de la
LUNA. Este proceso puede requerir múltiples ajustes.

□ El paquete de baterías está ubicado en la parte posterior
de la lámpara.

Quite los cuatro tornillos del compartimento de la batería.
Saque el paquete de baterías y desconéctelo. Reemplace

NOTA: Algunos ajustes de acuerdo a las estaciones

Generalmente el verano tiene periodos más largos de
luz natural. En este caso, la perilla LUX debe ser girada
correspondientemente. Este cambio se logra mejor
al anochecer, girando la perilla LUX hacia la derecha,
alejándola así del ícono de la LUNA (ver la imagen
debajo). A través del invierno, el panel solar debe
ajustarse para maximizar la exposición al sol durante
periodos de luz natural reducida. Una regla general es
colocar el panel en dirección al sol del mediodía.

Mantenimiento

¿Qué debo hacer si la lámpara de monitoreo de 48 LED parpadea o
funciona intermitentemente?
□ Ponga el interruptor de la lámpara en la posición OFF. Permita
que la batería se recargue por dos días soleados. Al nal del
segundo día, regrese el interruptor a AUTO. Ver los pasos 3 & 4
en la sección de Operación de este manual para conrmar los
ajustes de la perilla de LUX. La lámpara de monitoreo de 48 LED
deberá ahora operar normalmente.
¿Es alguna parte de la lámpara resistente a la intemperie? □ Todas las partes de la lámpara son completamente
impermeabilizadas e ideales para cualquier instalación exterior.
¿El panel solar necesita estar expuesto directamente al sol para
cargar?
□ El panel solar puede cargar la batería interna en luz directa
e indirecta. Para mejores resultados, coloque el panel en luz
directa para maximizar e incrementar su ecacia. Referirse a la
planicación de la instalación en la página 3.
¿Dónde debe instalarse el panel solar? □ Instale el panel en una posición donde se maximice la cantidad
de luz que será absorbida. En el hemisferio norte dicha posición
es generalmente hacia el sur. Referirse a la planicación de la
instalación en la página 3.
¿Dónde se puede adquirir una nueva batería para la lámpara de
monitoreo de 48 LED?

Problema Solución
¿Cuál es el proceso de reinicialización para la lámpara de
monitoreo de 48 LED?
1. Ponga el interruptor principal en la posición de OFF.
2. Gire todas las perillas de ajuste completamente hacia la derecha
(dirección de las agujas del reloj).
3. Ponga el interruptor en ON por 2 segundos y de regreso a OFF.
4. Gire la perilla LUX completamente hacia la izquierda (contrario a
las agujas del reloj).
5. Recargue la lámpara 2 días completos en la posición de OFF.
6. Ponga el interruptor en la posición AUTO nuevamente y observe
si la lámpara opera correctamente.
7. Si en la noche la unidad aún no se activa con movimiento, gire
lentamente la perilla LUX hacia la derecha hasta que la luz se
encienda. Este último paso ajustará la lámpara a la luz de
entorno.
