BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

1. IMPORTANT: Insert batteries into the home receiver unit first, then the

remote sensor.

2. Place the home unit as close as possible to the remote unit. This will

help with synchronization between the remote sensor and the home unit.

3. REMEMBER: Once you are ready to position your remote sensor and

home unit, ensure that the distance is not outside the effective

transmission range (100 feet). Some building materials and location of

the home unit or remote sensor can affect transmission quality and range.

Try various locations for best results.

BATTERY INSTALLATION

Home Receiver:

Lift off the battery cover on the back of the unit. Install 2 “AA” alkaline

batteries included according to the polarity indicated. Close the battery

cover.

Remote Sensor

Remove the attached bracket stand. Loosen the 2 screws securing the

battery cover with a small screwdriver and remove. Insert 2 “AA” alkaline

batteries included according to the polarity direction indicated. Depress the

C/F button to select either Centigrade or Fahrenheit temperature reading.

Select the channel of the remote sensor by pushing “CH” push button.

Always set the first sensor to channel 1, the 2nd to channel 2 and the 3rd to

channel 3. Ensure the black gasket is properly seated in the housing and

then replace the cover. Tighten the 2 screws to secure.

NOTE: There are no consumer serviceable parts.

GETTING STARTED

SETTING UP THE WIRELESS THERMOMETER

If you encounter any difficulties in setting up your wireless thermometer

system, please contact Consumer Relations.

• For the first installation, always insert batteries into the home unit FIRST

and then the remote sensor(s). (See BATTERY INSTALLATION section)

• Now enter the current weather conditions. Press “MAX/MIN” to select a

weather condition (sunny, partially sunny, cloudy, rainy, stormy). Press

“CLEAR” to confirm your selection. The built in barometer will

automatically adjust to this setting.

• Your new RF Thermometer is built with security code technology, the

home unit will learn the code of the first remote sensor and log it in as

channel 1. Channel 2 and Channel 3 will be registered in the same way

if additional sensors are used. This unit can monitor up to 3 separate

sensors.

• Once a channel is registered, it will not accept any new sensors. However,

registered channels can be erased by removing the batteries in the

remote sensor or the home unit.

• When replacing batteries for the remote sensor- Remember to clear the

corresponding channel of the home unit by removing the batteries. –OR–

Select the respective channel of the sensor by pressing the CHANNEL

button. Hold the CHANNEL button for 3 seconds to clear the registration.

• Press the Tx button on the back of remote sensor to verify the RF reception.

• It is recommended to test the units next to each other to ensure that both

the remote sensor and home receiver are properly synchronized.

NOTE: Keep the remote sensor out of direct sunlight and rain. Do not

mount on metal surface.

SETTING THE CLOCK & CALENDAR

1. Hold “SET” button for 3 seconds to enter clock set.

2. First, select 12 hour or 24 hour setting using the “ + , - ” buttons located

on the back of the home receiver. Press “SET” button to confirm your

selection.

3. Select Year - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the home

receiver to adjust year setting. Press “SET” button to confirm your

selection.

4. Select Month - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the

home receiver to adjust month setting. Press “SET” button to confirm

your selection.

SNOOZE/ LIGHT

1. Press the “SNOOZE/ LIGHT” button (Zz/ light icon

button) for an extended backlight.

2. In snooze alarm mode, press this button to trigger a

repetitive snooze alarm.

3. When normal alarm mode is selected, press the “SET”,

“ALERT”, “+” or “-” buttons to turn off alarm for one day.

MAX/ MIN MEMORY SETTINGS

1. Press ”MAX/ MIN“ button to view the maximum values for

5 seconds. Press again to view the minimum values.

2. To clear the memory record, press “CLEAR” while the

respective values displaying on screen.

TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE AND HUMIDITY

TREND INDICATORS:

You will see one of 3 icons;

will indicate Rising readings if it changes more than

1 degree or 1% relative humidity in an hour

will indicate Steady readings

will indicate Falling conditions if it is more than

1 degree 1% relative humidity in an hour

These readings are refreshed every hour.

WEATHER FORECAST WITH STORM ALERT

The built-in sensor will read the atmospheric pressure and

calculate the weather conditions of the next 12 hours. These

conditions will be displayed as; Sunny, Partial Sunny, Cloudy,

Rainy, Stormy, Icy at the top of the LCD display.

OFFSETTING AIR PRESSURE FOR

WEATHER FORECAST

To ensure accurate weather forecast under different altitude

situations, you should first enter the existing weather

condition manually. Press the “MAX/MIN” button to select

receiver to adjust day setting. Press “SET” button to confirm your

selection.

6. Select Hour - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the home

receiver to adjust hour setting. Press “SET” button to confirm your

selection.

7. Select Minute - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the

home receiver to adjust minute setting. Press “SET” button to confirm

your selection.

8. World Time Offset - Use the “ + , - ” buttons located on the back of the

home receiver to adjust “World/Time Offset”. Press “SET” button to

confirm your selection.

WORLD TIME FUNCTION

You can view the world time by pressing “SET” button, “World” on the LCD

will be shown.

FAHRENHEIT/CENTIGRADE SELECTION

You can now select either Fahrenheit or Centigrade temperature readings.

Hold the max/min button for 3 seconds to toggle between Centigrade or

Fahrenheit readings.

SETTING ALARM TIME

This unit features two alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm2). To select one press the

“AL” button. Your selection will be shown on the display. To enter alarm time:

1. Hold the “AL” button for 3 seconds. Press “ + , - “ to enter the desired

Hr/ Min values and press “AL” to confirm setting.

2. To view alarm time - Press “AL” button. Alarm time will display for 5

seconds and then resume to normal clock thereafter.

3. The home receiver will provide either a daily alarm, which last for 2

minutes or a snooze mode where the alarm will repeat every 5 minutes

until manually cleared (see SNOOZE/LIGHT section below).

the current conditions. Press “CLEAR” to confirm. The home

unit will ask you to enter the existing weather condition right

after installing batteries for the first time.

After the initial step or in case the weather forecast deviates

from the existing conditions, you can still recalibrate the unit.

1. Hold “CLEAR” button for 3 seconds to enter the pressure

offset mode. The weather icon will flash.

2. Select the existing weather condition by pressing

“MAX/MIN” button.

3. Press “CLEAR” to confirm and exit.

4. The unit is now calibrated to the existing pressure and

weather conditions.

LOW BATTERY INDICATION

Low battery indication is available for the home receiver and

the remote sensor. Replace the batteries and follow the setup

procedure as mentioned in this instruction manual.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Both the Home Unit and Remote Sensor come with a table

stand or they can be wall mounted.

Table Top -

For the home unit, simply attach the stand provided.

For the remote sensor, simply fold out the attached stand

from the mounting bracket.

Wall Mounting -

For the Home Unit - Remove the table top stand from the

bottom of the unit. Fix a screw (not included) into the desired

wall and place the home unit onto the screw using the back

side hanging hole.

For the Remote Sensor - Fix two screws (not included) into

the desired hanging location using the mounting bracket

holes on the remote sensor as a template. Ensure that the

screws are placed vertically (in a straight line up/down) along

the surface and that there is proper distance between each screw to hang the

mounting bracket. Align the hanging holes of the mounting bracket with the

two screws and place unit onto the screws.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

• Extreme temperatures, shock or areas of unusual vibration should be

avoided to prevent damage to the units.

• Clean the units using only a soft, damp cloth to wipe. Do not use

solvents, abrasives, detergents or other strong cleaning agents. After

cleaning, wipe surfaces with a dry cloth.

• Do not submerge units in water or other liquids.

• Do not subject the units to extremely severe temperatures - DO NOT

PLACE UNITS INTO OVENS, FREEZERS or MICROWAVE UNITS.

NOTE: Opening the housing (other than the battery compartment) of

either the Remote Sensor or the Home Unit will invalidate your warranty.

Do not attempt to repair this unit – There are no consumer serviceable

parts.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Indoor and Outdoor temperatures do not match when

placed next to each other -

Each sensor is manufactured to be +/- 1 degree in accuracy under normal

conditions. So it is possible to have up to two degrees difference shown on

the separate temperature sensors (one could be “+1 degree” and the other

“-1 degree”. Additionally, the calibration curve is different between the two

units because of the greater temperature range of the outdoor sensor.

Errors are usually noted on the extreme ends of the temperature ranges.

Base unit is not accepting remote transmissions -

The units may not be properly synchronized or the batteries may need to be

replaced. See “SETTING UP THE WIRELESS THERMOMETER” section

beginning on page 2 of the instructions for detailed instructions. With the

two units next to each other, attempt synchronization. Remember to always

place the remote sensor within the effective transmission range and away

from large metal surfaces.

What is the recommended battery type?

Your units will come with 4 “AA” alkaline batteries (2 “AA” batteries required

for each unit). We recommend using only alkaline batteries for replacements.

Where can I mount the remote sensor?

To get accurate readings and to prolong the life of your sensor, we

recommend that you mount it out of direct sunlight and rain. Fog and mist

will not affect the sensor, but large volumes of soaking rain may. To guard

against this, we recommend that you mount it under the eve of your house,

your garage or any other suitable place that will keep it out of direct sun and

rain.

HoMedics guarantees this product free from defects in material and

workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original purchase,

except as noted below.

This HoMedics product warranty does not cover damage caused by

misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of any unauthorized

accessory; alteration to the product; or any other conditions whatsoever

that are beyond our control. This warranty is effective only if the product is

purchased and operated in the USA. A product that requires modification

or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country other than the country

for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or

repair of products damaged by these modifications is not covered under

warranty. HoMedics shall not be responsible for any type of incidental,

consequential or special damages. All implied warranties, including but

not limited to those implied warranties of fitness and merchantability, are

limited in the total duration of two years from the original purchase date.

To obtain warranty service on your HoMedics product, either hand deliver

or mail the unit and your dated sales receipt (as proof of purchase),

postpaid, along with check or money order in the amount of $5.00

payable to HoMedics to cover handling.

Upon receipt, we will repair or replace, as appropriate, your product and

return it to you, postpaid. If it is appropriate to replace your product, we

will replace the product with the same product or a comparable product

at our option. Warranty is solely through our Service Center. Service of

this product by anyone other than HoMedics Service Center voids

warranty.

This warranty provides you with specific legal rights. You may have

additional rights which may vary from state to state. Because of indi-

vidual state regulations, some of the above limitations and exclusions

PARA EMPEZAR

INSTALACIÓN DEL TERMÓMETRO INALÁMBRICO

Si usted tiene dificultades para instalar su sistema de termómetros

inalámbricos, por favor póngase en contacto con Consumer Relations.

• Para la primera instalación inserte siempre PRIMERO las baterías en el receptor

doméstico y luego en el(los) sensor(es) remoto(s). (Ver la sección de INSTALACIÓN

DE LA BATERÍA)

• Ahora ingrese las condiciones meteorológicas actuales. Oprima “MAX/MIN” para

seleccionar una condición meteorológica (asoleado, parcialmente asoleado,

anublado, lluvioso, tempestad). Oprima el botón “CLEAR” para confirmar su

selección. El barómetro incorporado se ajusta automáticamente a esta selección.

• Su nuevo termómetro RF está construido con tecnología de códigos de seguridad;

el receptor doméstico aprende el código del primer sensor remoto y lo registra

como canal 1. Los canales 2 y 3 quedan registrados de la misma manera si se

usan sensores adicionales. Esta unidad puede monitorear hasta 3 sensores

separados.

• Una vez registrado un canal, éste no aceptará ningún sensor adicional. Sin

embargo, los canales registrados pueden cancelarse retirando las baterías del

sensor remoto o del receptor doméstico.

• Cuando coloca las baterías del sensor remoto: Acuérdese de cancelar el canal

correspondiente del receptor doméstico retirando las baterías. -Ó- Seleccione el

canal correspondiente al sensor oprimiendo el botón CHANNEL (Canal). Mantenga

oprimido el botón CHANNEL por 3 segundos para cancelar la registración.

• Oprima el botón Tx al respaldo del sensor remoto para verificar la recepción RF.

• Se recomienda ensayar las unidades a corta distancia entre ellas para asegurar

que tanto el sensor remoto como el receptor doméstico estén propiamente

sincronizados.

ATENCIÓN: Mantega el sensor remoto fuera de la luz solar y lluvia

7. Selección de los Minutos – Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo del

receptor doméstico para ajustar los minutos. Oprima el botón “SET” para confirmar

su selección.

8. Selección del “Huso Horario” – Use los botones “+, -” ubicados en el respaldo

del receptor doméstico para ajustar el “Huso Horario”. Oprima el botón “SET”

para confirmar su selección.

FUNCIÓN DE LA HORA MUNDIAL

Usted puede ver la hora mundial oprimiendo el botón “SET” (ajustar); la palabra

“World” (mundo) aparece en la pantalla LCD.

SELECCIÓN DE FAHRENHEIT/CENTÍGRADOS

Ahora usted puede seleccionar la lectura de las temperaturas en grados Fahrenheit o

Centígrados. Oprima y tenga oprrimido el botón max/min por 3 segundos para alternar

entre lecturas en Centígrados o Fahrenheit.

AJUSTE DE LA ALARMA

Este unidad está provista de 2 alarmas (Alarma 1 y Alarma 2). Para seleccionar una,

oprima el botón “AL”. Su selección aparece en la pantalla. Para ingresar la hora de

la alarma:

1. Oprima y sostenga el botón “AL” por 3 segundos. Oprima “+, -” para ingresar los

valores deseados de Horas/Minutos (Hr/Min) y oprima “AL” para confirmar los

ajustes.

2. Para visualizar la hora de la alarma – Oprima el botón “AL”. La hora de la alarma

aparece en la pantalla por 5 segundos y luego vuelve a la pantalla normal del reloj.

3. El receptor doméstico ofrece el modo de alarma diaria, que dura 2 minutos, o

el modo de alarma repetida, en el cual la alarma se repite cada 5 minutos hasta

que quede apagada manualmente (ver la sección ALARMA REPETIDA/LUZ a

continuación).

ALARMA REPETIDA/LUZ (Snooze/Light)

1. Oprima el botón SNOOZE/LIGHT (Zz/botón de icono de luz) para

iluminar la pantalla por más tiempo.

2. En el modo de alarma repetida, oprima este botón para activar la

alarma repetida.

3. Cuando está seleccionado el modo de alarma normal, oprima el

botón “SET”, “ALERT”, “+” o “-” para apagar la alarma por un día.

AJUSTES DE MEMORIA MAX/MIN

1. Oprima el botón “MAX/MIN” para ver los valores máximos por 5

segundos. Oprima otra vez para ver los valores mínimos.

2. Para cancelar el récord en memoria, oprima “CLEAR” (cancelar)

PREVISIÓN METEOROLÓGICA CON ALARMA

DE TEMPESTAD

El sensor incorporado lee la presión atmosférica y calcula las condiciones

meteorológicas para las próximas 24 horas. Estas condiciones

aparecen como: Asoleado, Parcialmente asoleado, Anublado, Lluvioso,

Tempestad, Hielo, en la parte superior de la pantalla LCD.

AJUSTE DE PRESIÓN ATMOSFÉRICA PARA

PREVISIÓN METEOROLÓGICA

Para asegurar una previsión meteorológica precisa bajo diferentes

condiciones de altitud, usted debe primero ingresar manualmente las

condiciones meteorológicas actuales. Oprima el botón “MAX/MIN”.

para seleccionar las condiciones actuales. Oprima el botón “CLEAR”

para confirmar su selección. El receptor doméstico solicitará que

usted ingrese las condiciones meteorológicas actuales en seguida

después de instalar las baterías por primera vez.

Después el primer paso o en la eventualidad de que la previsión

meteorológica se aleje de las condiciones actuales, usted puede

todavía volver a calibrar el instrumento.existing conditions, you can

still recalibrate the unit.

1. Oprima y mantenga el botón “CLEAR” por 3 segundos para

ingresar al modo de ajuste de presión. El icono del tiempo

empieza a destallar.

2. Seleccione la condición meteorológica actual oprimiendo el botón

“MAX/MIN”.

3. Oprima el botón “CLEAR” para confirmar su selección.

4. La unidad está ahora calibrada con las condiciones meteorológicas

actuales y de presión.

INDICADOR DE BATERÍAS BAJAS

La indicación de baterías bajas está disponible en el receptor

doméstico y en el sensor remoto. Cambie las baterías y siga el

procedimiento de inicialización como se indica en este manual de

instrucciones.

INSTRUCCIONES DE MONTAJE

Tanto la Unidad Doméstica como el Sensor Remoto vienen con un

soporte de mesa o pueden montarse en la pared.

Colocación en la mesa -

Para la unidad doméstica, simplemente sujete el soporte

proporcionado. Para el sensor remoto, simplemente doble el soporte

sujetado de la repisa de montaje.

Montaje de pared -

Para la Unidad Doméstica – Retire del fondo de la unidad el soporte

para el montaje en la mesa. Coloque un tornillo (no incluido) en el

lugar deseado en la pared y cuelgue la unidad doméstica del tornillo

usando el orificio de colgar en el respaldo.

Para el Sensor Remoto – Coloque dos tornillos (no incluidos) en el lugar deseado

usando los orificios del soporte de montaje del sensor remoto como plantilla.

Asegúrese de que los tornillos queden colocados verticalmente a plomo (en línea recta

hacia arriba/abajo) en la superficie y que quede la distancia correcta entre los dos

tornillos para colgar el soporte de montaje. Alinee los orificios del soporte de montaje

con los dos tornillos y coloque la unidad sobre los tornillos.

INSTRUCCIONES DE CUIDADO Y MANTEN-

IMIENTO

• Para prevenir daños a las unidades, es importante evitar temperaturas extremas,

golpes o las áreas que presenten vibraciones anormales.

• Limpie las unidades usando sólo un trapo suave y húmedo para limpiar. No use

solventes, abrasivos, detergentes u otros agentes limpiadores agresivos. Después

de limpiar las superficies, séquelas con un paño seco.

• No sumerja las unidades en agua u otros líquidos.

• No someta las unidades a temperaturas extremas – NO COLOQUE LA UNIDAD EN

HORNOS, CONGELADORES o APARATOS A MICROONDAS.

ATENCIÓN: El abrir la caja (con exclusión del compartimiento para las baterías)

del Sensor Remoto o de la Unidad Doméstica anula la garantía. No trate de repara

esta unidad – No hay partes que necesiten servicio por parte del usuario.

SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS

Las temperaturas interior y exterior no corresponden

cuando las unidades se coloquen cerca entre ellas -

Cada sensor está construido para tener una aproximación de +/-1 grado en

condiciones normales. Así que es posible tener hasta dos grados de diferencia en

sensores de temperatura separados (uno podría tener “+1” grado y el otro “-1” grado).

Además, la curva de calibración es diferente entre las dos unidades porque el sensor

de temperatura exterior tiene un rango de temperaturas más amplio. Los errores por lo

general quedan anotados en los extremos de los rangos de temperatura.

La unidad base no recibe las transmisiones de las

unidades periféricas -

Las unidades pueden no estar sincronizadas correctamente o puede ser necesario

sustituir las baterías. Para instrucciones detalladas, ver la sección “INSTALACIÓN DEL

TERMÓMETRO INALÁMBRICO” que empieza en página 2 de las Instrucciones. Trate

de lograr la sincronización teniendo las dos unidades a corta distancia entre ellas.

Recuerde de colocar siempre el sensor remoto dentro de la distancia efectiva de

transmisión y lejos de grandes superficies metálicas.

¿Cuál es el tipo de batería recomendada?

Su unidad trae 4 baterías alcalinas “AA” (cada unidad necesita 2 baterías “AA”).

Recomendamos reemplazar las baterias sólo con baterías alcalinas.

¿Adonde puedo montar el sensor remoto?

Para lograr lecturas precisas y extender la vida útil del sensor,

recomendamos el montaje al abrigo de la luz solar directa y de la lluvia.

La niebla y la bruma no afectan al sensor, pero grandes cantidades de lluvia

intensa pueden afectarlo. Para protegerlo, recomendamos el montaje debajo

del voladizo de su casa, del garaje o cualquier otro lugar adecuado que lo

abrigue de la luz solar directa y de la lluvia.

Atención: Este equipo ha sido ensayado y probado y se ha comprobado que cumple

con los límites de los dispositivos digitales de la Clase B, según la Sección 15 de las

Normas FCC. Estos límites han sido dispuestos para proporcionar una protección

razonable contra las interferencias dañinas en las instalaciones domésticas. Este

equipo genera, usa y puede irradiar energía de radiofrecuencia y, si no se instala y

usa según las recomendaciones, puede causar interferencias dañinas a las

comunicaciones radio. Sin embargo, no hay garantías de que dichas interferencias

no se produzcan en una instalación particular. Si este equipo causara interferencias
