MICROMON MA400
Welcome to Behringer
Thank you for showing your condence in us by purchasing
the Behringer MICROMON MA400, a monitor headphone amplier
that is both exible and compact. On your headphones, you can
simultaneously listen to two audio signals:
• • one from a microphone
• • one from a mixer or a Hi-Fi unit
You can even emphasize one signal over the other. Hear yourself sing,
or concentrate on the main audio program. Both are possible.

MICROMON MA400
◊ ◊ High volumes can damage your hearing and your
headphones. Before you use the MA400, turn the MIC
LEVEL and MON LEVEL controls to 0 (zero).
(1) 12 V connector: To connect the power supply unit to the
MA400, use the 12 V connector. Connectingthe power supply
unit to the mains automatically switches the MA400 on. To
disconnect the unit from the mains, pull out the main cord plug.
(2) ON LED: As soon as the unit is connected to the mains, the ON
LED is illuminated.
(3) MIC INPUT connector: To send a microphone signal to the
MA400, you need an audio cable that includes XLRconnectors.
Plug:
• • one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector
• • the other XLR connector into the microphone
(4) MIC THRU connector: If you want to route the microphone signal
from the MA400 to a mixer, you need an audio cable that includes
XLR connectors.
Plug:
• • one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector
• • the other XLR connector into the microphone
(5) GND LIFT button: When you connect a mixer to the MA400,
keep this button pushed out to maintain a ground connection
to the mixer.
This connection prevents electrostatic charges from interfering
with your audiosignals.
However, if ground-loop hum interferes with your audio signals,
you can break the ground connection between the MA400
and the mixer. To do this, push in the GNDLIFT button.

(6) MONITOR INPUT connector: To send a signal from a mixer or
Hi-Fi unit to the MA400, you need an audio cable that includes
¼" connectors (unbalanced/stereo TRS or unbalanced/mono TS).
Plug:
• • one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector
• • the other ¼" connector into the AUX SEND of a mixer or,
alternatively the output of a Hi-Fi unit
(7) ¼" PHONES connector, (8) ⁄" PHONES connector:
To connect headphones to the MA400, use the ¼" or,
alternatively the ⁄" PHONES connector.
◊ ◊ Do not simultaneously use both PHONES connectors.
(9) MONO / STEREO switch: To specify the type of mixer or Hi-Fi
signal the MA400 receives, use this switch. If you plugged:
• • a TS connector into the MONITOR INPUT, the MA400
receives a mono signal. Pushthis switch to MONO.
• • a TRS connector into the MONITOR INPUT, the MA400
receives a stereo signal. Push this switch to STEREO.
(10) MIC LEVEL control: To adjust the volume of the microphone
signal, slowly turn this control toward 0 (minimum volume) or,
alternatively 10 (maximum volume).
(11) MON LEVEL control: To adjust the volume of the mixer or Hi-Fi
signal, slowly turn this control toward 0 (minimum volume) or,
alternatively 10 (maximum volume).
SERIAL NUMBER: To register your unit, use the serial number
that is located on the bottom of the MA400.

5) Do not use this apparatus near water.
6) Clean only with dry cloth.
7) Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
8) Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9) Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized
plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades
and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety.
If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of
the obsolete outlet.
10) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs,
convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11) Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12) Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or
sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus
combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
13) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
14) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged,
liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been
exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
15) The apparatus shall be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective
earthing connection.
16) Where the MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device,
the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.

◊ ◊ Los volúmenes elevados pueden dañar sus oídos
y auriculares. Antes de utilizar el MA400, gire los
controles MIC LEVEL y MON LEVEL hasta 0 (cero).
(1) Conector 12 V : Para conectar la fuente de alimentación
al MA400, use el conector 12 V. El MA400 se enciende
inmediatamente al conectar la fuente de alimentación a la
red de corriente eléctrica. Para desconectar la unidad de la red
eléctrica debe desenchufar la fuente de alimentación de la
toma de corriente.
(2) LED ON: Al conectar la unidad a la red de corriente eléctrica se
ilumina el LED ON.
(3) Conector MIC INPUT: Para enviar una señal de micrófono al
MA400 necesita un cable con conectores XLR.
Conecte:

(4) Conector MIC THRU: Si quiere enviar la señal de micrófono

Conecte:

equipo Hi-Fi.

(9) Conmutador MONO / STEREO: Utilice este conmutador para

(10) Control MIC LEVEL: Para ajustar el nivel de la señal de

mezclas o el equipo Hi-Fi, gire este control hacia el nivel de

10) Proteja los cables de suministro de energía de tal forma que no sean pisados o doblados,

11) Use únicamente los dispositivos o accesorios especificados por el fabricante.
12) Use únicamente la carretilla, plataforma, trípode, soporte o mesa especificados por el
fabricante o suministrados junto con el equipo. Al transportar el equipo, tenga cuidado para

◊ ◊ Des volumes sonores élevés peuvent endommager
votre système auditif ainsi que votre casque audio.
Avant d’allumer votre MA400, placez ses commandes
MIC LEVEL et MON LEVEL sur 0 (zéro).
(1) Connecteur 12 V : L’embase 12 V sert à la connexion de
l’alimentation secteur avec le MA400. Ce dernier est allumé dès que
la liaison a été établie avec la tension secteur. Pour désolidariser le
MA400 du secteur, débranchez son bloc d’alimentation.
(2) LED ON: La LED ON s’allume dès que le MA400 est relié au secteur.
(3) Entrée micro MIC INPUT:
Pour alimenter le MA400 avec un signal micro, utilisez un câble
micro doté de connecteurs XLR:

• • Reliez un XLR à l’entrée micro MIC INPUT du MA400
• • Reliez l’autre XLR à la sortie du micro
(4) Sortie MIC THRU: Pour alimenter une table de mixage
avec le signal micro du MA400, utilisez un câble monté en

(5) Touche GND LIFT:
Vériez que cette touche est relâchée si vous câblez votre MA400

pouvant générer du bruit résiduel. Cependant, si une boucle de
masse génère des interfé-rences audio, enfoncez la touche GND

(6) Entrée MONITOR INPUT: Pour alimenter le MA400 avec

◊ ◊ N’utilisez pas simultanément les deux sorties PHONES.
(9) Sélecteur MONO / STEREO: Utilisez ce sélecteur pour
déterminer quel type de signal, délivré par la console ou la
chaîne hi-, alimente le MA400.
Procédez de la façon suivante:
• • Si vous alimentez l’entrée MONITOR INPUT avec un jack
mono, le MA400 reçoit un signal mono. Dans ce cas,
placez le sélecteur en position MONO.
• • Si vous alimentez l’entrée MONITOR INPUT avec un jack
stéréo, le MA400 reçoit un signal stéréo. Dans ce cas,
placez le sélecteur en position STEREO..
(10) Potentiomètre MIC LEVEL: Utilisez ce potentiomètre pour
régler le volume du signal micro. Tournez-le vers 0 (minimum)
pour réduire le volume ou vers 10 (maximum) pour augmenter
le volume.
(11) Control MON LEVEL : Utilisez ce potentiomètre pour régler
le volume du signal de la console ou du système hi-.
Tournez-le vers 0 (minimum) pour réduire le volume ou vers 10
(maximum) pour amplier le volume.
NÚMERO DE SERIE: Pour enregistrer votre produit, utilisez le numéro
de série situé sur la base du MA400.

1) Lisez ces consignes.

9) Ne supprimez jamais la sécurité des prises bipolaires ou des prises terre. Les prises
bipolaires possèdent deux contacts de largeur différente. Le plus large est le contact
de sécurité. Les prises terre possèdent deux contacts plus une mise à la terre servant
de sécurité. Si la prise du bloc d’alimentation ou du cordon d’ali-mentation fourni ne
correspond pas à celles de votre installation électrique, faites appel à un électricien pour
effectuer le changement de prise.
10) Installez le cordon d’alimentation de telle façon qu’il ne puisse pas être endommagé,
tout particulièrement à proximité des prises et rallonges électriques ainsi que de l’appareil.
11) Utilisez exclusivement des accessoires et des appareils supplémentaires recommandés
par le fabricant.
12) Utilisez exclusivement des chariots, des diables, des présentoirs, des pieds et des
surfaces de travail recommandés par le fabricant ou livrés avec le produit. Déplacez
précautionneusement tout chariot ou diable chargé pour éviter d’éventuelles blessures
en cas de chute.
13) Débranchez l’appareil de la tension secteur en cas d’orage ou si l’appareil reste inutilisé
pendant une longue période de temps.
14) Les travaux d’entretien de l’appareil doivent être ef fectués uniquement par du personnel
qualifié. Aucun entretien n’est nécessaire sauf si l’appareil est endommagé de quelque
façon que ce soit (dommages sur le cordon d’alimentation ou la prise par exemple), si un
liquide ou un objet a pénétré à l’intérieur du châssis, si l’appareil a été exposé à la pluie ou à
l’humidité, s’il ne fonctionne pas correctement ou à la suite d’une chute.

Vielen Dank für Ihr Vertrauen in Behringer Produkte, das Sie mit dem
Kauf des MICROMON MA400 zum Ausdruck gebracht haben. Das

◊ ◊ Hohe Lautstärken können Ihr Gehör und Ihren Kopfhörer
beschädigen. Drehen Sie die MIC LEVEL-und MON LEVEL-
Regler auf 0, bevor Sie das Gerät in Betrieb nehmen.
(1) 12 V-Anschluss : Verwenden Sie den 12 V-Anschluss, um
das Netzteil am MA400 anzuschließen. Sobald Sie das Netzteil
mit dem Stromnetz verbinden, ist der MA400 automatisch
eingeschaltet. Um das Gerät vom Netz zu trennen, ziehen Sie den

• • einen XLR-Stecker mit dem MIC THRU-Anschluss und
• • den anderen XLR-Stecker mit dem Mikrofoneingang
des Mixers.
(5) GND LIFT-Schalter: Wenn Sie ein Mischpult am MA400
anschließen, drücken Sie diesen Schalter nicht, damit die
Masseverbindung zum Mixer erhalten bleibt.
Diese Verbindung verhindert die Beeinussung Ihrer
Audiosignale durch elektrostatische Ladungen. Wenn allerdings
durch Erdschleifen verursachtes Brummen Ihre Audiosignale
beeinträchtigt, können Sie die Masseverbindung zwischen
Mixer und MA400 unterbrechen. Drücken Sie dazu den GND
LIFT-Schalter.

(6) MONITOR INPUT-Anschluss: Um ein Signal von einem Mischpult
oder HiFi-Gerät zum MA400 zu leiten, benötigen Sie ein Audiokabel
mit 6,3-mm-Stereo-Klinkensteckern für Stereosignale oder ein

(7) 6,3-mm PHONES-Anschluss, (8) 3,5-mm PHONES-Anschluss:
Um einen Kopfhörer am MA400 anzuschließen, verwenden Sie
den 6,3-mm oder den 3,5-mm PHONES-Anschluss.
◊ ◊ Verwenden Sie nicht beide PHONES-
Anschlüsse gleichzeitig.
(9) MONO / STEREO-Schalter: Benutzen Sie diesen Schalter, um
zwischen Mono- und Stereosignalverarbeitung zu wählen.
Verbinden Sie:
• • einen Monoklinkenstecker an den MONITOR INPUT
angeschlossen, empfängt der MA400 ein Monosignal.
Drücken Sie diesen Schalter, um MONO zu wählen.

◊ ◊ Hoge volumes kunnen uw gehoor en uw hoofdtelefoon
beschadigen. Voordat u de MA400 gebruikt, zet u de MIC
LEVEL- en MON LEVEL-regelaars op 0 (nul).

(5) GND LIFT Knop: Wanneer u een mixer op de MA400 aansluit,

Als het gebrom van de aardlus echter uw audiosignalen verstoort,

(6) MONITOR INPUT Connector: Om een signaal van een mixer
of hi-eenheid naar de MA400 te sturen, hebt u een audiokabel
nodig met ¼"-aansluitingen (ongebalanceerd / stereo TRS of

Plug:
• • een ¼"-connector in de MONITOR INPUT-connector
• • de andere ¼"-connector in de AUX SEND van een mixer of,
als alternatief, de uitgang van een hi-apparaat
(7) ¼" PHONES conector, (8) ⁄" PHONES-connector: Gebruik
de ¼" of, alternatief de ⁄" PHONES-connector om een
hoofdtelefoon op de MA400 aan te sluiten.
◊ ◊ Gebruik niet tegelijkertijd beide PHONES-connectoren.
(8) MONO / STEREO Schakelaar: Gebruik deze schakelaar om het type
mixer of hisignaal te speciceren dat de MA400 ontvangt.
Als je het hebt aangeslote:
• • een TS connector in de MONITOR INPUT, de MA400
ontvangt een monosignaal. Zet deze schakelaar op MONO.
• • een TRS-connector in de MONITOR INPUT, ontvangt de
MA400 een stereosignaal. Zet deze schakelaar op STEREO.
(10) MIC LEVEL Controle: Om het volume van het microfoonsignaal
aan te passen, draait u deze regelaar langzaam naar 0
(minimumvolume) of, alternatief 10 (maximumvolume).
(11) MON LEVEL Controle: Om het volume van de mixer of het
hisignaal aan te passen, draait u deze regelaar langzaam naar

MICROMON MA400 Welcome to Behringer Thank you for showing your confidence in us by purchasing the Behringer MICROMON MA400, a monitor headphone amplifier that is both flexible and compact. On your headphones, you can simultaneously listen to two audio signals: • one from a microphone • one from a mixer or a Hi-Fi unit You can even emphasize one signal over the other. Hear yourself sing, or concentrate on the main audio program. Both are possible. ◊ Please read the safety instructions that appear at the end of this document. Connectors and Control Elements This section illustrates and provides descriptions of each MA400 connector and command (1) (3) (4) (5) (6) (2) (7) (8) (9) MA400 connectors and control elements V 1.0 (10) (11) 2 MICROMON MA400 ◊ High volumes can damage your hearing and your headphones. Before you use the MA400, turn the MIC LEVEL and MON LEVEL controls to 0 (zero). (1) 12 V connector: To connect the power supply unit to the MA400, use the 12 V connector. Connecting the power supply unit to the mains automatically switches the MA400 on. To disconnect the unit from the mains, pull out the main cord plug. (2) ON LED: As soon as the unit is connected to the mains, the ON LED is illuminated. (3) MIC INPUT connector: To send a microphone signal to the MA400, you need an audio cable that includes XLR connectors. Plug: • one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector • the other XLR connector into the microphone (4) MIC THRU connector: If you want to route the microphone signal from the MA400 to a mixer, you need an audio cable that includes XLR connectors. Plug: • one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector • the other XLR connector into the microphone (5) GND LIFT button: When you connect a mixer to the MA400, keep this button pushed out to maintain a ground connection to the mixer. This connection prevents electrostatic charges from interfering with your audio signals. However, if ground-loop hum interferes with your audio signals, you can break the ground connection between the MA400 and the mixer. To do this, push in the GND LIFT button. MICROMON MA400 (6) MONITOR INPUT connector: To send a signal from a mixer or 3 Hi-Fi unit to the MA400, you need an audio cable that includes ¼" connectors (unbalanced/stereo TRS or unbalanced/mono TS). Plug: • one XLR connector into the MIC INPUT connector • the other ¼" connector into the AUX SEND of a mixer or, alternatively the output of a Hi-Fi unit (7) ¼" PHONES connector, (8) 1/8" PHONES connector: To connect headphones to the MA400, use the ¼" or, alternatively the 1/8" PHONES connector. ◊ Do not simultaneously use both PHONES connectors. (9) MONO / STEREO switch: To specify the type of mixer or Hi-Fi signal the MA400 receives, use this switch. If you plugged: • • a TS connector into the MONITOR INPUT, the MA400 receives a mono signal. Push this switch to MONO. a TRS connector into the MONITOR INPUT, the MA400 receives a stereo signal. Push this switch to STEREO. (10) MIC LEVEL control: To adjust the volume of the microphone signal, slowly turn this control toward 0 (minimum volume) or, alternatively 10 (maximum volume). (11) MON LEVEL control: To adjust the volume of the mixer or Hi-Fi signal, slowly turn this control toward 0 (minimum volume) or, alternatively 10 (maximum volume). SERIAL NUMBER: To register your unit, use the serial number that is located on the bottom of the MA400. 4 MICROMON MA400 Important Safety Instructions 1) Read these instructions. 2) Keep these instructions. 3) Heed all warnings. 4) Follow all instructions. 5) Do not use this apparatus near water. 6) Clean only with dry cloth. 7) Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. 8) Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 9) Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. 10) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. 11) Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 12) Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over. 13) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. 14) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. 15) The apparatus shall be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. 16) Where the MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. MICROMON MA400 5 17) Correct disposal of this product: This symbol indicates that this product must not be disposed of with household waste, according to the WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) and your national law. This product should be taken to a collection center licensed for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The mishandling of this type of waste could have a possible negative impact on the environment and human health due to potentially hazardous substances that are generally associated with EEE. At the same time, your cooperation in the correct disposal of this product will contribute to the effi cient use of natural resources. Si la prise du bloc d’alimentation ou du cordon d’ali-mentation fourni ne correspond pas à celles de votre installation électrique, faites appel à un électricien pour effectuer le changement de prise. 10) Installez le cordon d’alimentation de telle façon qu’il ne puisse pas être endommagé, tout particulièrement à proximité des prises et rallonges électriques ainsi que de l’appareil. 11) Utilisez exclusivement des accessoires et des appareils supplémentaires recommandés par le fabricant. 12) Utilisez exclusivement des chariots, des diables, des présentoirs, des pieds et des surfaces de travail recommandés par le fabricant ou livrés avec le produit. Déplacez précautionneusement tout chariot ou diable chargé pour éviter d’éventuelles blessures en cas de chute. 13) Débranchez l’appareil de la tension secteur en cas d’orage ou si l’appareil reste inutilisé pendant une longue période de temps. 14) Les travaux d’entretien de l’appareil doivent être effectués uniquement par du personnel qualifié.
