ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
When installed, operated and maintained according to all
instructions supplied with the product, if this appliance fails due
to a defect in material or workmanship within one year from the
date of purchase, call 1-800-4-MY-HOMP to arrange for free
repair.
FIVE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY ON THE MAGNETRON
For five years from the date of purchase, when this speed cook
oven is installed, operated and maintained according to all
instructions supplied with the product, Sears will replace the
magnetron free of charge due to defective materials or
workmanship.
If this appliance is used for other than private family purposes,
this warranty applies for only 90 days from the date of purchase.
THIS WARRANTY COVERS ONLY DEFECTS IN MATERIAL
AND WORKMANSHIP. SEARS WILL NOT PAY FOR:
1. Expendable items that can wear out from normal use,
including but not limited to filters, belts, light bulbs, and bags.
2. A service technician to instruct the user in correct product
installation, operation or maintenance.
3. A service technician to clean or maintain this product.
4. Damage to or failure of this product if it is not installed,
operated or maintained according to all instructions supplied
with the product.
5. Damage to or failure of this product resulting from accident,
abuse, misuse or use for other than its intended purpose.
6. Damage to or failure of this product caused by the use of
detergents, cleaners, chemicals or utensils other than those
recommended in all instructions supplied with the product.
7. Damage to or failure of parts or systems resulting from
unauthorized modifications made to this product.
DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES; LIMITATION OF

Customer's sole and exclusive remedy under this limited
warranty shall be product repair as provided herein. Implied
warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a
particular purpose, are limited to one year or the shortest period
allowed by law. Sears shall not be liable for incidental or
consequential damages. Some states and provinces do not allow
the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, or limitations on the duration of implied warranties of

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

The microwave oven must be grounded. In the event of
an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of
electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric
current. The microwave oven is equipped with a cord
having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug
must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed
and grounded.
WARNING: Improper use of the grounding plug can
result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified
electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are
not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether
the microwave oven is properly grounded.

The first time power is supplied to the microwave oven the
"Welcome" screen will appear, prompting the selection of the
venting method being used.
The method of ventilation determines whether or not the odor
filter (3M FILTRETETMtcharcoal filter) will be used. Ifthe setting is
Recirculation, the odor filter will be used, and the microwave
oven will track the filter usage and give prompts for its changing.
If the setting is External Venting, the odor filter will not be used,
and the microwave oven will not track or give prompts for odor
filter status.
To determine how the venting was installed, turn on the exhaust
fan and check the airflow. Ifair is coming from the top front of the
microwave oven, it is being recirculated. If there is a vent outside
through which the air is being vented, the microwave oven has
External Venting.
If the "Welcome" screen does not appear, the default setting has
already been selected. The current setting may be checked for
correctness, and may also be changed at any time through the
Options menu.
The microwave oven has a durable, nonstick coating that resists
soil buildup by making cleaning easier than in conventional
microwave ovens. See "General Cleaning" section for cleaning
instructions.
ULTRA HEATWAVE TM
TECHBMOLOGY
The microwave system uses ULTRA HEATWAVE
TECHNOLOGY TM, which delivers a constant stream of microwave
power-true high, medium and low power.
Typically, microwave ovens operate on HIGH power only. For
example, to achieve a 50% power level ("medium") in a typical
microwave oven, the microwave oven operates 50% of the time
at HIGH power and 50% of the time OFF.

In contrast, microwave ovens utilizing ULTRA HEATWAVE
TECHNOLOGY TM deliver the selected power level continuously.
This constant stream of microwave power helps to minimize
overcooking of foods and messy food spatters.
Sensor Cooking
The microwave system with ULTRA HEATWAVE
TECHNOLOGY TM features sensor cooking functions. A humidity
sensor in the microwave oven cavity detects moisture and
humidity emitted from food as it heats. The sensor adjusts
cooking times to various types and amounts of food. Sensor
cooking takes the guesswork out of microwave cooking.

To Turn Turntable Off:
The turntable can be turned off (except during an auto function or
Custom Grill). This is helpful when cooking with plates that are
larger than the turntable, or when cooking with two plates that
are side by side.
To Turn Off: Touch TURNTABLE ON/OFE
"TURNTABLE OFF" will appear in the display. The turntable will
turn back on automatically when cooking is over or STOP/CLEAR
is touched.

The microwave oven uses a 1,000-watt halogen bulb with a
500-watt quartz bulb to serve as the grill element for various
cooking functions.
When the element is in use, the halogen bulb glows very brightly,
while the glow of the quartz bulb is barely-if at all-visible. (See
"Troubleshooting" for quartz bulb testing.) The microwave oven
cavity and door will become hot. The use of oven mitts is
recommended.

The turntable can rotate in either direction to help cook food
more evenly. Do not operate the microwave oven without having
turntable in place. To order any of the parts, call
1-800-4-MY-HOME _. See "Replacement Parts" for
part numbers.
To Install:
1. Remove tape from the hub.
2. Place the support on the microwave oven cavity bottom.
3. Place the turntable on the support.
Fit the raised, curved lines in the center of the turntable
bottom between the 3 spokes of the hub. The rollers on the
support should fit inside the turntable bottom ridge.
The rectangular cooking rack is ideal for two-level cooking.
It provides extra cavity space for cooking 2 or more containers
at the same time. Insert the rack securely into the rack supports
on the side walls of the microwave oven. To reorder rack, call
1-800-4-MY-HOME _. See "Replacement Parts" section for
part number.
• When not using the rack for cooking, remove it from the
microwave oven. Damage to the microwave oven could result
if someone unintentionally turns on the microwave oven.
• Rack will become hot. Always use oven mitts or pot holders
when handling.
• Do not allow the rack to touch the inside cavity walls, ceiling
or floor.
• Use the rack only when cooking on 2 levels.
• Do not use metal cookware, utensils, or a browning dish with
the rack.
• Do not let food container on rack touch the top or sides of the
microwave oven.
• Do not use Skillette pan on rack.
• Remove rack before using Grill function.
• Remove rack before using Popcorn function.
• Do not cook food directly on the rack. Always use a
microwave-safe container.
• The rack is designed specifically for this microwave oven.
Do not attempt to use any other rack (besides those supplied
with the microwave oven) in this microwave oven.
• To avoid damage to the microwave oven due to soil buildup,
clean rack supports often (see "General Cleaning" section).
MICROWAVE OVEN
CONTROL PANEL
The Skillette pan, with its nonstick surface and a detachable
handle, has been specially designed for microwave use, and is
ideal for pan-frying (pan-browning) foods in the microwave oven.
The Skillette pan is also used as a drip pan under the grill rack
during grilling cycles. See "Grill" section.
Use the handle to grasp the pan. Place gripping end on the edge
of pan, squeeze handle and lift pan. To order replacement parts,
call 1-800-4-MY-HOME e. See "Replacement Parts" section for
part number. See "General Cleaning" for cleaning instructions.
The circular grill rack is for grilling in the microwave oven. See
"Grill" section. Place the grill rack securely on Skillette pan, the
Skillette pan on the turntable, and position food on grill rack. To

During programming, the display screen displays function
menus, servings and weights, preparation instructions, and
cooking time/power settings. During a cooking cycle, it counts
down the remaining time, and gives prompts to stir or turn food.
Touch Screen
The LCD touch screen is used to input commands. A light- to
medium-pressure touch of the fingertip will activate the menu
choice. However, sensitivity of the touch screen may vary, and
using the tips or backs of fingernails may provide more accuracy
when inputting commands.
The following demonstrates how to use the touch screen displays
to navigate through menus. This example shows the display
screens and selections when cooking chicken pieces.

A. Progress bar
The progress bar is a visual picture of the estimated running time
of a cooking cycle. It will appear during sensor cooking functions.
The line appears below the word "Sensing," and shows progress
by the darkening of the line from the left. After the sensor is
finished sensing, the remaining cook time replaces the word
"Sensing" at the top of the display, but the progress bar
continues to be displayed.
The START control will start any function.
If non-sensor cooking is interrupted, touching START will resume
the preset cycle.
For added convenience, the "Start" touch pad is also available on
some display screens, and provides the same function as the
START control.
The STOP/CLEAR control clears any incorrect command and
cancels most functions except for the Kitchen Timer, Child Lock,
exhaust fan, cooktop light and Learning Mode. It will not erase
the time of day.
The microwave oven will also turn off when the door is opened.
Close the door and touch START or "Continue" on the display
screen to resume the cycle.
NOTE: A sensor cooking cycle may not be resumed if interrupted
by opening the door.
This is a standard 12-hour clock (12:00 AM-11:59 PM). When
power is first supplied to the microwave oven, or after a power
failure, the "Home" screen will appear.
To Set Clock: Touch CLOCK, then follow directions on the
display screen.
To Hide Clock: Touch CLOCK, then touch STOP/CLEAR.
"Home" will appear in place of the time of day on the display
screen.
To Display Clock: Touch CLOCK, then touch START.
Tones are audible signals, indicating the following:

A. Timer countdown
When the Kitchen Timer is in use, the microwave oven can still
operate. During the microwave oven operation, "Timer" and the
countdown will appear in the upper, right-hand corner of the
display. The countdown may also be seen on the Kitchen Timer
screen by touching KITCHEN TIMER. Touch "Return" to go back
to the previous screen or wait until the timer ends. If the timer
ends while the microwave oven is still operating, the tone will
sound and the display will return to the set cooking mode.
To Set: Touch KITCHEN TIMER, enter desired time and touch
"Start."
To Cancel: Touch KITCHEN TIMER twice.

Exhaust Rsn
The exhaust fan has numerous speeds ranging from Off to High.
Toprotect the microwave oven, if the temperature from the range
or cooktop below the microwave oven gets too hot, the exhaust
fan will automatically turn on at high speed. It may stay on for up
to 1 hour. When this occurs, the Fan button will not function.
• A few seconds after the last time the Fan button is pressed,
the screen returns to the previous display.
The first time the exhaust fan is turned on after power is
connected to the microwave oven, the fan will start at high
speed. The next time the exhaust fan is turned on, it will start
at the last speed used.
To Turn Exhaust Fan On/Off: Press the Fan button to turn fan
on, then touch "+" or "-" or turn dial to select fan speed. Press
the Fan button twice to turn the fan off (or once if the fan screen
is active).
The cooktop/countertop light has numerous brightness settings
ranging from Off to High. The light can be turned on manually, or
the Night Light can be programmed to come on automatically
when the sensor detects low light level in the room. See "Night
Light" section.
To Manually Turn Light On/Off: Press the Light button to turn
light on, then touch "+" or "-" or turn dial to desired brightness
level. Press the Light button twice to turn light off (or once if the
light screen is active).
Functions can be selected, and displays can be changed by
using the Options menu.

To Activate Child Lock:

"Locked!" and a padlock icon will appear in the display
screen if any attempt is made to start the microwave oven. As
long as the Child Lock is activated, a lock icon will appear

The Night Light can be programmed to automatically come on
when low light levels are detected.
To Set the Sensor for Night Light:
1. On the "Home" screen, touch "More Choices."

Light, then touch "Set Level."
5. On the "Set Level" screen, touch "+" or "-" or turn the dial to

The display will show the current room light level as well as
the activation level setting. The current room light level will
fluctuate based upon current light conditions.

The display brightness and contrast may be adjusted to improve
display visibility.
Display brightness can be set at full (display backlight is on),
reduced (backlight is low and the screen is dim but still visible) or
off (display is completely dark) after 2 minutes of inactivity.
Display contrast may be set from MIN to MAX.
To Set Display Brightness or Contrast:
1. On "Home" screen, touch "More Choices."
2. Touch"Options."
3. Touch "Display Contrast" or "Display Brightness" (on "More
Choices" screen), and follow directions to set desired levels.
The Learning Mode is ideal for learning how to use the
microwave oven. When set, functions can be entered, with real
displays and tones, without actually turning on the microwave
generator or grill element. While functions are operating in the
Learning Mode, the microwave oven light will come on, the fan
will run, and the turntable will rotate (if set ON).
While the Learning Mode is active, the book icon will appear in
the upper, left-hand corner of the display.
To Activate Learning Mode:
The microwave oven must be off.
1. On "Home" screen, touch "More Choices."
2. Touch"Options."
3. Touch "More Choices."

MICROWAVE OVEN USE
A magnetron in the oven produces microwaves which reflect off
the metal floor, walls and ceiling and pass through the turntable
and appropriate cookware to the food. Microwaves are attracted
to and absorbed by fat, sugar and water molecules in the food,
causing them to move, producing friction and heat which cooks
the food.
• Do not lean on or allow children to swing on the microwave
oven door.
• Do not operate microwave oven when it is empty.
The turntable must be in place and correct side up when
microwave oven is in use. Do not use if turntable is chipped
or broken. Call 1-800-4-MY-HOME e to reorder. See
"Replacement Parts" section for part numbers.
• Baby bottles and baby food jars should not be heated in
microwave oven.
• Clothes, flowers, fruit, herbs, wood, gourds, paper, including
brown paper bags and newspaper, should not be dried in
microwave oven.
• Do not use the microwave oven for canning, sterilizing or
deep frying.
• Paraffin wax will not melt in the microwave oven because it
does not absorb microwaves.
• Use oven mitts or pot holders when removing containers from
microwave oven.
• Do not overcook potatoes. At the end of the recommended
cook time, potatoes should be slightly firm. Let potatoes
stand for 5 minutes. They will finish cooking while standing.
• Do not cook or reheat whole eggs inside the shell. Steam
buildup in whole eggs may cause them to burst. Cover
poached eggs and allow a standing time.
When microwave cooking, the amount, size and shape, starting
temperature, composition and density of the food affect cooking
results.
Amount of Food
The more food heated at once, the longer the cook time needed.
Check for doneness and add small increments of time if
necessary.
Size and Shape
Smaller pieces of food will cook more quickly than larger pieces,
and uniformly shaped foods cook more evenly than irregularly
shaped food.
Starting Temperature
Room temperature foods will heat faster than refrigerated foods,
and refrigerated foods will heat faster than frozen foods.
Composition and Density
Foods high in fat and sugar will reach a higher temperature and
will heat faster than other foods. Heavy, dense foods, such as
meat and potatoes, require a longer cook time than the same size
of a light, porous food, such as cake.

Covering
Covering food helps retain moisture, shorten cook time and
reduce spattering. Use the lid supplied with cookware. If a lid is
not available, wax paper, paper towels or plastic wrap approved
for microwave ovens may be used. Plastic wrap should be turned
back at one corner to provide an opening to vent steam.
Condensation on the door and cavity surfaces is normal during
heavy cooking.
Stirring and Turning
Stirring and turning redistribute heat evenly to avoid overcooking
the outer edges of food. Stir from outside to center. If possible,
turn food over from bottom to top.
Arranging
If heating irregularly shaped or different sized foods, arrange the
thinner parts and smaller sized items toward the center. If
cooking several items of the same size and shape, place them in
a ring pattern, leaving the center of the ring empty.
Piercing
Before heating, use a fork or small knife to pierce or prick foods
that have a skin or membrane, such as potatoes, egg yolks,
chicken livers, hot dogs and sausage. Prick in several places to
allow steam to vent.
Shielding
Use small, flat pieces of aluminum foil to shield the thin pieces of
irregularly shaped foods, bones and foods such as chicken
wings, leg tips and fish tail. See "Aluminum Foil and Metal" first.
Standing Time
Food will continue to cook by the natural conduction of heat even
after the microwave cooking cycle ends. The length of standing
time depends on the volume and density of the food.
Cookware and dinnerware must fit on the turntable, Always use
oven mitts or pot holders when handling because any dish may
become hot from heat transferred from the food. Do not use
cookware and dinnerware with gold or silver trim, Use the
following chart as a guide, then test before using.

To Test Cookware or Dinnerware for Microwave Use:
1. Place cookware or dinnerware in microwave oven with 1 cup
(250 mL) of water beside it.
2. Cook at 100% cooking power for 1 minute.
Do not use cookware or dinnerware if it becomes hot and the
water stays cool.
Always use oven mitts or pot holders when removing dishes from
the microwave oven.
Aluminum foil and some metal can be used in the microwave
oven. If not used properly, arcing (a blue flash of light) can occur
and cause damage to the microwave oven.
OK for Use
Racks and bakeware supplied with the microwave oven (on some
models), aluminum foil for shielding, and approved meat
thermometers may be used with the following guidelines:
• Do not allow aluminum foil or metal to touch the inside cavity
walls, ceiling or floor.

• Do not allow contact with another metal object during
microwave cooking.
Do Not Use
Metal cookware and bakeware, gold, silver, pewter, non-
approved meat thermometers, skewers, twist ties, foil liners
such as sandwich wrappers, staples and objects with gold or

When using the grill element for non-grill functions (without grill

To Change Cook Time or Power During a Cooking Cycle:
Cook time and/or power may be changed after cooking begins
without interrupting cooking.
1. Touch "Time" or "Power."
2. Turn dial to select new time or power.
3. Touch START.
A sensor in the microwave oven detects humidity released from
the food as it heats, and adjusts the cook time accordingly. The
progress bar appears during sensing (see "Progress Bar"
section).
Many sensor cycles require the covering of foods. Microwave-
safe containers or steamers with loose-fitting lids are
recommended. The loose-fitting lid allows enough steam to
escape to be detected by the sensor. When covering foods with
plastic wrap, be sure to leave a large enough vent opening to
allow the steam to escape.
NOTES:
• The microwave oven should be plugged in for at least
3 minutes.
• The microwave oven cavity and the exterior of the cooking
container should be dry.
• The room temperature should not exceed 95°F (35°C).
• If the door is opened during a sensor cycle, sensing will stop
and the program will be canceled.
For many cooking functions, the screen displays a "Doneness"
bar which can be adjusted by touching "+" or "-" or turning the
dial. For most foods, the maximum and minimum doneness
settings add to, or subtract from normal cook time.
For Defrost, the controlled percentage depends on food type and
weight.
When doneness has been set for a specific food, the "Doneness"
bar remembers that setting, and will remain at that setting for all
future cooking cycles of that specific food, until it is reset.
REMEMBER: Doneness control for Poultry, Pork, Fish,
Hamburger and Steak can be set for no less than the default
doneness.
For many cooking functions, the "Prepare" screen is available.
Touch "Prepare" for preparation instructions, as well as additional
information about the food item, cookware, etc.

Popcorn is a sensor function. The sensor determines the
appropriate popping time of commercially packaged
microwavable popcorn.
• Remove rectangular cooking rack before use.
• Do not place bag on cooking rack or grill rack.
• Do not use regular paper bags or glassware.
• Pop only 1 package of popcorn at a time.
• Follow manufacturer's instructions when using a microwave
popcorn popper.
• Listen for popping to slow to 1 pop every 1 to 2 seconds,
then stop the cycle. Do not try to pop unpopped kernels.

Two or More Plates
Two plates may be heated side by side, or 1 dish larger than the
turntable, plus 2 plates on the rectangular cooking rack. For best
results, halfway through heating, turn the plates (or larger dish)
halfway around, and switch plates between top and bottom (if
heating more than 2 plates). See "Cooking Rack" section.
The turntable must be turned off while heating 2 bottom plates or
1 larger dish. See "Turntable" section.
The ULTRA DEFROST TM feature has 4 categories: Meat, Poultry,
Fish and Bread. It should not be used for food left outside the
freezer more than 20 minutes and frozen ready-made food. The
microwave oven can also be manually set to defrost.
• Food should be 0°F (-18°C) or colder at defrosting for optimal
results. How foods are stored can affect results.
• Unwrap foods and remove lids (for example, from fruit juice
containers) before defrosting.
• Thin packages will defrost more quickly than thick blocks.
• Separate food pieces as soon as possible during, or at the
end of the cycle for more even defrosting.
• Use small pieces of aluminum foil to shield parts of food such
as chicken wings, leg tips and fish tails. See "Aluminum Foil
and Metal" section first.
To Use ULTRA DEFROSTTM:
1. Place food, uncovered, on the turntable and close the door.
2. On the "Home" screen, touch "Ultra Defrost."
3. Select food type.
4. Turn dial to enter weight.
Meats and Poultry can be set from 0.1 to 6.5 Ib (45 g to 3 kg).
Fish can be set from 0.1 to 4.5 Ib (45 g to 2 kg). Bread can be
set from 0.1 to 2.0 Ib (45 to 907 g).
If weight is not known, touch "Weight Unknown?" and follow
the menu to determine approximate amount.
Doneness may be adjusted at this time by touching
"Doneness," and then touching "+" or "-" or turning dial.
5. Touch "Start" on the touch screen, or START control.
The display will count down the defrost time.

The microwave oven has a baking function which uses the grill
element in conjunction with the Skillette pan and microwaves.
Times and cooking powers have been programmed for certain
baked goods settings.
• The microwave oven cavity and door will become very hot
during grill element use. The use of oven mitts is
recommended.
The Skillette pan will become very hot. Use oven mitts to
grasp and remove pan from microwave oven. Do not place
hot Skillette pan directly on heat-sensitive surfaces. Damage
may occur.
• Use detachable handle when handling hot Skillette pan.
• Always use the Skillette pan to cook baked goods.
• Place Skillette pan directly on turntable. Do not place Skillette
pan on rectangular cooking rack.

Brownies: One 20-oz (567 g) package

The Grill function uses a 1,500-watt halogen and quartz element
that heats quickly to grill a variety of foods.
• Microwave oven cavity and door will become very hot during
grill element use. The use of oven mitts is recommended.
The circular grill rack and Skillette pan will become hot. Use
oven mitts to grasp and remove the Skillette pan from the
microwave oven. Do not place hot Skillette pan directly on
heat-sensitive surfaces. Damage may occur.
• Use the grill rack to place food closer to the Grill element for
faster grilling.
• Remove rectangular cooking rack. Do not use the cooking
rack to grill food.
• The turntable must be turned on when using the grill rack.
• Use the Skillette pan to catch drippings. Do not place the
Skillette pan on the grill rack or the cooking rack.
• Place grill rack securely on Skillette pan, and place both on
the turntable. Then position food directly on rack.
• For best results, apply light amount of cooking oil to grill rack.
• While the Grill function is in use, the fan operates at a low
speed automatically until the cycle is over.

need to enter a simmer time. The water will heat
to a boil and then the microwave oven will turn
off. Using oven mitts, gently remove the covered
dish of boiling water, add the pasta, re-cover,
place the dish back in the microwave oven.
Repeat steps 1-3 under "To Use Manual
Simmer," then turn dial to set simmer time.
Rice and
Vegetables
Place water/liquid and food in dish, cover, and
place in the microwave oven. Use 1/4-1/2 cup
(60-125 mL) water with vegetables. Turn dial to
set simmer time.
Soup and Place food in dish, cover, and then place dish in
liquid foods microwave oven. Turn dial to set simmer time.
*Use a dish large enough to completely cover food with water.

The Skillette feature uses the Skillette pan to brown, crisp, and
pan-fry foods in the microwave oven. The Skillette pan reaches
its optimal cooking temperature in approximately 3 minutes. Use
the pan as quickly as possible after it is heated for best results.
While microwaves heat food from above, they also heat the
Skillette pan very quickly from below to brown and crisp the food.
• Microwave oven cavity and door will become very hot during
grill element use. The use of oven mitts is recommended.
The Skillette pan will become very hot. Use the handle to
grasp and remove the pan from the microwave oven. Do not
place hot Skillette pan directly on heat-sensitive surfaces.
Damage may occur.
• Use detachable handle when handling hot Skillette pan.
• Do not use plastic utensils on the pan, as it becomes very hot
quickly and could melt the utensils.
• Do not use metal utensils, as they can scratch the pan.
• Do not use the pan in any other microwave oven or in a
standard thermal oven.
• Do not place the pan on the rectangular cooking rack or
circular grill rack. Always use the turntable as a support for
the pan.
• For best results, coat Skillette pan lightly with cooking oil to
make removing food and cleaning easier.

Food Poisoning Hazard
Do not let food sit in oven more than one hour before
or after cooking.
Doing so can result in food poisoning or sickness.
Hot cooked food can be kept warm in the microwave oven. Hold
Warm can be used by itself or can be programmed to follow a
cooking cycle. See "Cooking in Stages" section.
• Cover plates of food.
• Cover foods that were covered while being cooked.
• Do not cover baked goods such as pastries, pies, turnovers,
etc.
To Use:
1. Place hot cooked food on the turntable, and close the door.

4. Adjust time, if desired, and then touch "Start."

MICROWAVE OVEN CARE
IMPORTANT: Before cleaning, make sure all controls are off and
the microwave oven is cool. Always follow label instructions on
cleaning products.
Soap, water and a soft cloth or sponge are suggested unless
otherwise noted.
GREASE FILTERS
Do not operate the microwave oven without the grease filters in
place.
Soak grease filters in hot water and mild detergent. Scrub and
swish to remove embedded dirt. Rinse well and shake dry.
• Do not use ammonia or oven cleaner.
• Do not place in dishwasher.
MICROWAVE OVEN CAVITY
The gray finish inside the microwave oven cavity is a durable,
nonstick coating that makes soils easier to remove.

cleaners, steel-wool pads, gritty washcloths or some recycled

Heat 1 cup (250 mL) of water with 1tbs (15 mL) of either
lemon juice or vinegar for 2 to 5 minutes in microwave oven.
Microwave Inlet Cover
To avoid arcing and damage to the microwave oven, the
microwave inlet cover (see "Parts and Features") should be kept
clean.

Activate the Child Lock to avoid touch screen activation during

3M FILTRETETM*CHARCOAL ODOR FILTER
This filter works with the exhaust fan to eliminate cooking odors.
Depending on the fan speed used, the life of the filter ranges from
50 hours to 100 hours.
The Odor Filter Status screen, available through the Options
menu (see "Options" section), shows the percentage of the filter
usage, from 100% (new) to 0% (needs changing). When the
usage reaches 5% or lower, and the fan button is pressed, the
Order Filter screen appears on the display with ordering
information and changing instructions.
NOTE: If exhaust setting has been set for External Venting, the
Odor Filter Screen will not automatically appear. The exhaust
setting may be changed at any time. See "Exhaust Ventilation"
section.
To Remove and Replace Odor Filter:
1. Open microwave oven door.
2. Tilt vent grille forward and lift out to remove.
3. Lift filter up, then pull it out of the slot.
4. Replace the 3M FILTRETETMfcharcoal odor filter by
positioning the new filter inthe slot. "This side out" printed on
the edge of the filter should be facing out. Then replace the
vent grille by aligning the bottom tabs and snapping it back
into place.
5. Touch "Filter Reset" on the "Odor Filter" screen (in the
"Options" menu, under "Exhaust/Odor Filter").
GREASE FILTERS
To Remove and Replace Grease Filters:
1. Remove each of the grease filters by pushing the back of the
filter up, grasping the tab, and sliding the filter to the back.
Pull tab down until the filter drops out.
2. Replace grease filters by inserting the end without the tab
into the frame. Swing other end up and slide into position.

Is the turntable support operating properly?
Remove turntable. Remove and clean turntable support and
rollers. Replace turntable support. Replace turntable. Place
1 cup (250 mL) of water on the turntable, then restart
microwave oven. If it still is not working, contact a Sears
trained repair specialist. See back cover. Do not operate the
microwave oven without turntable and turntable support

a Sears trained repair specialist. See back cover.
Display shows time countdown, but microwave oven is
not operating
• Is the Kitchen Timer in use?

Tones are not sounding
• Aretones turned off?

Steam is coming from the vent grille
• Some steam is normal.
Fan running slower than usual
• Has the microwave oven been stored in a cold area?
The fan will run slower until the microwave oven warms up to
normal room temperature.
Cooking times seem too long
Is the cooking power set properly?

Are large amounts of food being heated?
Larger amounts of food need longer cooking times.
Is the incoming voltage less than specified in the
"Microwave Hood Combination Safety" section?
Have a qualified electrician check the electrical system in the
home.
Quartz bulb does not appear to be on
• This is not unusual. See "Grill Element" section.
Is the element still working properly?
Place 2 slices of bread on the circular grill rack, place the rack
on the turntable and close the door. Program the microwave
oven using manual or custom grill - without microwaves - for
4 minutes (see "Grill" section). The bread should toast dark
brown. If the bread does not toast, contact a Sears trained
repair specialist. See back cover.
Radio, TV or cordless phone interference
• Is the microwave oven plugged into the same outlet?
Try a different outlet.
Is the radio or TV receiver near the microwave oven?
Move the receiver away from the microwave oven, or adjust
the radio or TV antenna.
Are the microwave oven door and sealing surfaces clean?
Make sure these areas are clean.
is the cordless phone frequency 2.4 GHz?
Some 2.4 GHz-based cordless phones and home wireless
networks may experience static or noise while the microwave
oven is on. Use a corded phone, a different frequency
cordless phone or avoid using these items during microwave
oven operation.

INSTRUCClONES PARA LA CONEXlON
A TIERRA
[] Para todos los aparatos electrodomesticos de

El homo de microondas debe estar conectado a tierra. En
case de que se produzca un corto circuito, la conexi6n a
tierra reduce el riesgo de electrocucion per medio de un
alambre de escape para la corriente electrica. El horno de

alambre de conexion a tierra con un enchufe para

tierra puede resultar en riesgo de electrecucion. Consulte

La primera vez que se de suministro electrico al horno de
microondas, aparecera la pantalla de "Welcome" (Bienvenido) y
solicitara que seleccione el metodo de ventilaci6n que este
usando.
El metodo de ventilacidn determinara si se usara o no el filtro de
olores (filtro de carb6n 3M). Si el ajuste esta en recirculaci6n, se
usara el filtro de olores y el homo de microondas seguira la
trayectoria del use del filtro y le data mensajes para que Io
cambie. Si el ajuste esta en ventilaci6n externa, el filtro de olores
no se usara y el homo de microondas no seguira la trayectoria
del filtro nile dara mensajes sobre el estado del filtro de olores.
Para determinar crime se ha instalado la ventilacidn, encienda el
extractor de aire y verifique el flujo de aire. Si el aire viene de la
parte superior delantera del horno de microondas, es porque
esta en recirculacidn. Si hay un ducto de escape en el exterior a
traves del cual se esta ventilando el aire, el horno de microondas
tiene ventilacidn exterior.
Si no aparece la pantalla de "Welcome" (Bienvenido), eso
significa que ya se ha seleccionado el ajuste programado. Puede
verificarse el ajuste actual para ver si es el correcto y tambien
puede cambiarse en cualquier memento a traves del menu de
Options (Opciones).

Para veriflcar o cambiar el ajuste del escape:
1. En la pantalla "Home" (Principal), presione "More Choices"
(Opciones adicionales).
2. Presione "Options",
3. Presione"More Choices".
4. Presione "Exhaust/Odor Filter" (Filtro de escape/de olores).
5. Presione "Exhaust Setting" (Ajuste del escape).
Aparecera en la pantalla el ajuste actual, asi como tambien la
opci6n de cambiarlo.
6. Presione "Finished" (Terminado) si se ha cambiado el ajuste.
El homo de microondas dispone de un recubrimiento facil de
limpiar y duradero especial que es resistente a la acumulaci6n de
suciedad ya que hace la limpieza mas facil queen los hornos de

ULTRA HEATWAVE TM
TECHNOLOGY
El sistema de microondas utiliza ULTRA HEATWAVE
TECHNOLOGY TM, que entrega una corriente constante de
intensidad de microondas, es decir, intensidad alta, media y baja
real.
Normalmente, los hornos de microondas funcionan solamente a
la intensidad ALTA. Por ejemplo, para Iograr un nivel de
intensidad del 50% (medio) en un horno de microondas tipico,
este funciona 50% del tiempo a la intensidad ALTA y el 50%
restante del tiempo esta apagado (OFF).
En contraposici6n, los hornos de microondas que utilizan ULTRA
HEATWAVE TECHNOLOGY TM entregan el nivel de intensidad
elegido continuamente. Esta corriente constante de microondas
ayuda a reducir la cocci6n excesiva de los alimentos y las
salpicaduras de alimentos.

El sistema de microondas con ULTRA HEATWAVE
TECHNOLOGY TM ofrece las funciones de cocci6n per sensor. Un
sensor de humedad en la cavidad del horno de microondas
detecta la humedad y la condensaci6n que emiten los alimentos
mientras son calentados. El sensor ajusta los tiempos de cocci6n
segQn los diferentes tipos y cantidades de alimentos. La cocci6n
por sensor elimina la necesidad de adivinar durante la cocci6n
con microondas.

El horno de microondas usa un foco de hal6geno de 1.000 vatios
con un foco de cuarzo de 500 vales, para que sirva como
elemento para asar para varias funciones de cocina.
Cuando se esta usando el elemento, el foco hal6geno brilla con
mucha intensidad mientras que el brillo del foco de cuarzo es
poco visible y casi no se ve. (Para las pruebas del foco de cuarzo

microondas y la puerta se calentaran. Se recomienda el uso de
guantes para horno.

La bandeja giratoria puede rotar en ambas direcciones para
ayudar a cocinar los alimentos de manera mas pareja. No ponga
a funcionar el horno de microondas sin la bandeja giratoria en su

Para instalar:
1. Quite la cinta adhesiva del eje.
2. Coloque el soporte en el fondo de la cavidad del homo de
microondas.
3. Coloque la bandeja giratoria en el soporte.
Encaje las curvas alzadas en el centro del fondo de la
bandeja giratoria entre los tres rayos del eje. Los rodillos del
soporte deben encajar dentro del canal ranurado que esta
debajo de la bandeja giratoria.

La bandeja giratoria puede apagarse (excepto durante una
funci6n automatica o asado individualizado). Esto resulta Qtil
cuando se cocina con plates que son mas grandes que la
bandeja giratoria, o cuando se cocina con dos platos que estan
lade a lade.
Para apagar: Toque TURNTABLE ON/OFE
"TURNTABLE OFF" aparecera en la pantalla. La bandeja giratoria
se encendera automaticamente una vez que la cocci6n se haya
terminado o al tocar STOP/CLEAR.
La parrilla de cocci6n rectangular es ideal para cocinar en dos
niveles ya que proporciona espacio extra en el horno de
microondas para cocinar en dos o mas recipientes a la vez.
Introduzca la parrilla de modo que encaje bien en los soportes de
la parrilla que estan en las paredes laterales del horno de

Retire la parrilla del horno de microondas cuando no la use

No cocine los alimentos directamente sobre la parrilla. Use
siempre un recipiente apropiado para el homo de

La parrilla ha sido dise_ada especfficamente para este homo

A. Barra de progreso
La barra de progreso es una imagen visual del tiempo estimado
de funcionamiento de un ciclo de cocci6n. Va a aparecer durante
las funciones de cocci6n per sensor. Esta barra aparece debajo
de la palabra "Sensing" (Detectando), y muestra el progreso
oscureciendo la linea a partir de la izquierda. Una vez que el
sensor haya terminado su detecci6n, la palabra "Sensing" en la
parte superior de la pantalla es reemplazada por el tiempo de
cocci6n restante, pero la barra de progreso sigue visible.
El control START iniciara cualquier funci6n.
Presionando START reiniciara el ciclo preestablecido si es que se
interrumpe la cocci6n sin sensor.
Para su mayor comodidad, el bot6n tactil "Start" aparece
tambien en algunas pantallas de visualizaci6n y ofrece la misma

El control STOP/CLEAR despeja cualquier comando incorrecto y
cancela la mayor parte de las funciones, excepto Kitchen Timer
(Temporizador de cocina), Child Lock (BIoqueo para ni_os),
exhaust fan (extractor de aire), cooktop light (luz de la superficie
de cocci6n) y Learning Mode (Modo de aprendizaje). No podra
borrar la hora del dia.

A. Cuenta regresiva del temporizador
El homo de microondas puede operar ann cuando este
funcionando el temporizador de cocina, Durante la operaci6n del
horno de microondas, aparecera "Timer" (Temporizador) y la
cuenta regresiva en la esquina superior derecha de la pantalla. Si
presiona KITCHEN TIMER, podra observar la cuenta regresiva en
la pantalla del temporizador de cocina. Presione "Return" (Volver)
para volver a la pantalla previa o espere hasta que el
temporizador termine de contar. Si el temporizador Ilegara a
terminar de contar mientras el homo de microondas continua

El magnetrdn produce las microondas en el homo, las cuales se
reflejan del piso, de las paredes y del techo de metal y pasan a
traves de la bandeja giratoria y los utensilios de cocina
adecuados hasta los alimentos, La grasa, el azQcar y las
moleculas del agua que contienen los alimentos atraen y
absorben las microondas, hacen que se muevan, produciendo
friccidn y calor, cuya accidn cocina los alimentos.
• Nunca se recueste ni deje que los ni_os se columpien en la
puerta del horno de microondas.
• No ponga a funcionar el horno de microondas cuando este

La bandeja giratoria debe estar en su lugar con el lado
correcto hacia arriba cuando el horno de microondas este en
funcionamiento. No use la bandeja giratoria siesta
desportillada o quebrada. Llame al 1-800-4-MY-HOME ®para

• Los biberones y los tarros de comidas para bebes no se
deben calentar en el homo de microondas.
• Ropa, flores, fruta, hierbas, madera, jfcaras, papel,

La temperatura inicial
Los alimentos que estan atemperatura ambiente se calentaran
con mayor rapidez que los alimentos refrigerados, y los
alimentos refrigerados se calentaran con mayor rapidez que los
congelados.
Composicibn y densidad
Los alimentos con alto contenido de grasa y de azQcar
alcanzaran una temperatura mas alta y se calentaran con mayor
rapidez que otros alimentos. Los alimentos pesados y densos,
como la came y papas necesitan un tiempo de cocci6n mas
prolongado que el mismo tama5o de alimentos con densidad
ligera y porosa como los pasteles.
Envoltorios
Los alimentos cubiertos retienen la humedad, acortan el tiempo
de cocci6n y reducen las salpicaduras. Use la tapa provista con
los utensilios de cocina, Si no la tiene, puede usar papel de cera,
toallas de papel o pelfculas de plastico apropiados para utilizar
con microondas. Se deben doblar las pelfculas de plastico en
una esquina a fin de proporcionar una abertura para ventilar el
vapor. La condensaci6n en la puerta y en las superficies de la
cavidad es normal durante una cocci6n intensa,

Tamafio y forma
Los trozos mas pequer_os de alimentos se cocinaran con mayor
rapidez que los trozos grandes. Igualmente los alimentos de
forma pareja se cocinaran con mayor uniformidad que los

Proteccibn de los alimentos
Use pequeSos pedazos lisos de papel de aluminio para proteger

Cbmo cocinar manualmente:

Un sensor en el horno de microondas detecta la humedad que se
libera de los alimentos mientras se calientan y ajusta el tiempo de
cocci6n a consecuencia. La barra de progreso aparece durante
la deteccion (vea la secci6n "Barra de progreso").
Es necesario cubrir los alimentos para varies ciclos con sensor.
Se recomiendan recipientes aptos para microondas o vaporeras
con tapas que queden un poco sueltas. Las tapas sueltas
permiten que se escape el vapor suficiente como para ser

La pantalla muestra una barra de "Doneness" (Puesta a punto de

a punto de cocci6n le suma o resta al tiempo normal de cocci6n.
En el case de la descongelaci6n, el porcentaje controlado
dependera del tipo y del peso de los alimentos.
Una vez que se ha fijado la puesta a punto de cocci6n para un
alimento en particular, la barra de "Doneness" recuerda ese
ajuste y Io conservara durante todos los ciclos de cocci6n
futuros hasta que se le vuelva a restablecer.
REOUERDE: El control de puesta a punto para Poultry (Aves),
Pork (Cerdo), Fish (Pescado), Hamburger (Hamburguesa) y Steak

MINUTE, se agregara un minute de cocci6n usando la intensidad
de cocci6n actual.
Si se presiona ADD ONE MINUTE cuando el homo de
microondas no esta funcionando, o despues de haber terminado
un ciclo de cocci6n, el horno arranca durante un minute a1100%
de intensidad de cocci6n.

La funci6n Popcorn (Palomitas de maiz) es una funci6n del
sensor. El sensor determina el tiempo de estallido apropiado para
las palomitas de mafz empacadas comercialmente y aptas para
el homo de microondas.
• Quite la parrilla de cocci6n rectangular antes de utilizarla.
• No coloque la bolsa en la parrilla de cocci6n o la parrilla para
asar.
• No use utilice bolsas de papel comunes o cristalerfa.
• Solamente haga estallar 1 paquete de palomitas de mafz a la
vez.
• Siempre que use un recipiente especial para preparar
palomitas de maiz, siga las instrucciones del fabricante.
• Espere hasta que se produzca un estallido cada 16
2 segundos, luego apague el ciclo. Nunca haga estallar de
nuevo los granos que no estallaron.
• Para obtener los mejores resultados utilice bolsas de
palomitas de maiz frescas.
• Los resultados de la cocci6n estan sujetos a cambios seg0n
la marca y el contenido de grasa.
C6mo utilizar Popcorn: Coloque la bolsa de palomitas de maiz
en la bandeja giratoria. Presione POPCORN. El horno inicia

Se puede ajustar el horno de microondas para que cocine a
distintas intensidades de cocci6n durante lapsos de tiempo
diferentes y hasta en 4 etapas. Solamente podra programarse la
cocci6n per etapas en los ajustes manuales de cocci6n. Las
funciones de Manual Defrost (Descongelacion manual), Custom
Grill (Asado al gusto) y Manual Skillette (Sarten skillette manual)

Dos o m_s platos
Pueden recalentarse dos platos lado a lado, o un plato mas
grande que la bandeja giratoria mas 2 platos en la parrilla de
cocci6n rectangular. Para obtener los mejores resultados, a la
mitad del periodo de recalentamiento, de media vuelta a los
platos (o al plato grande) y alterne los platos entre la parte inferior
y la superior (si es que se estan calentando mas de dos platos).
Vea la secci6n "Parrilla de cocci6n."
Durante el recalentamiento de dos platos en el fondo o de un
plato grande, la bandeja giratoria debera estar apagada.
Consulte la secci6n "Bandeja giratoria".
La caracteristica ULTRA DEFROST TM tiene 4 categorias: came,
aves, pescado y panes. Nunca debera ser utilizada con
alimentos que estuvieron fuera del congelador por mas de
20 minutos ni con los alimentos congelados listos para usarse. El
homo de microondas puede ajustarse manualmente para la
descongelaci6n.
• Los alimentos deberan estar a 0°F (-18°C) o mas fr[os para
Iograr los resultados 6ptimos al descongelarlos. Los
resultados pueden verse afectados segt_n como se
almacenan los alimentos.
• Antes de descongelarlos, desenvuelva los alimentos y quite
las tapas (pot ejemplo, de los recipientes de los jugos de

• Los paquetes delgados se decongelan con mas rapidez que
los bloques gruesos.
• Para Iograr una descongelaci6n mas uniforme, y tan pronto
como le sea posible, ya sea al final del ciclo o durante la
descongelaci6n, separe todas las piezas de los alimentos.
Para proteger algunas piezas de los alimentos como serian
las puntas de las alas y patas de polio, y colas de pescado
utilice unos pedacitos de papel de aluminio. Consulte

C6mo utilizar ULTRA DEFROSTTM:
1. Coloque los alimentos, sin cubrir, en la bandeja giratoria, y

El horno de microondas cuenta con una funci6n de horneo que
utiliza el elemento del asador junto con la sarten Skillette y las
microondas. Se han programado ajustes de tiempo e
intensidades de cocci6n para alimentos horneados.
• La cavidad del homo de microondas y la puerta del homo de
microondas se ponen muy calientes durante la utilizaci6n del
elemento del asador. Se recomienda el uso de guantes para
horno.
• Use la manija desprendible mientras manipula la sarten
Skillette caliente.
La sarten Skillette se pone muy caliente. Para agarrar y
extraer la sarten del horno de microondas utilice la manija o
guantes para hornear. No coloque la sarten Skillette
directamente sobre superficies sensibles al calor ya que
estas se pueden da_ar.
• Cuando manipule la sarten skillette caliente, use la manija
desprendible.
• Para cocinar alimentos horneados, siempre utilice la sarten
Skillette.
• Coloque la sarten Skillette directamente sobre la bandeja
giratoria. No coloque la sarten sobre la parrilla de cocci6n.

• Use el recipiente apto para microondas con un tapa que
quede un poco suelta.
Cbmo utilizar Manual Simmer (Coccibn a fuego lento

1. Coloque el recipiente del alimento/liquido, se cubre, en la

cQbralo y col6quelo en el horno de microondas.
Utilice 1/4-1/2 taza (60-125 mL) de agua con los
vegetales. Fije el tiempo de cocci6n a fuego
lento girando el selector.
Sopas y Coloque el alimento en un recipiente, cQbralo y
alimentos col6quelo en el horno de microondas. Fije el
liquidos tiempo de cocci6n a fuego lento girando el
selector.
*Utilice un recipiente suficientemente grande para poder cubrir
con agua todo el alimento.
7. Presione STOP/CLEAR (Detener/Despejar) o abra la puerta

La caracteristica Skillette utiliza la sarten Skillette para dorar,
tostar y freir los alimentos en el homo de microondas. La sarten
Skillette alcanza su temperatura de cocci6n 6ptima en cerca de
3 minutos. Para obtener los mejores resultados, utilice la sarten
tan pronto come sea posible una vez que este caliente.
A pesar de que las microondas calientan los alimentos desde
arriba, tambien calientan la sarten Skillette desde abajo muy
rapidamente para dorar y tostar los alimentos.

Remoje los filtros para la grasa en agua caliente y detergente

Enjuaguelos bien y sacQdalos para secarlos.
• No use amonfaco ni productos comerciales para limpiar

CAVIDAD DEL HORNO DE MICROONDAS

No use estropajos que vienen con jab6n, productos de limpieza

Cuando menos una vez al mes deben extraerse y limpiarse los

Cuando la vida Qtil del filtro Ilega a 5% o mas bajo, y se presiona
el bot6n del ventilador, aparecera en la pantalla "Order Filter"

instrucciones para cambiarlo.
NOTA: Si se ha ajustado el escape para ventilaci6n extema, la
pantalla del filtro de olores no aparecera automaticamente.
Puede cambiarse el ajuste del escape en cualquier momento.

Cbmo extraer y reemplazar el filtro para olores:
1. Abra la puerta del homo de microondas.
2. Incline la rejilla de ventilaci6n hacia adelante y saquela para
quitarla.
3. Levante el filtro y luego jalelo fuera de la ranura.
4. Reemplace el filtro de carb6n 3M colocando el filtro nuevo en
la ranura. El lade que tiene impreso "This side out" (Este lado
hacia afuera) en el borde del filtro debera estar hacia afuera.
Luego vuelva a colocar la rejilla de ventilaci6n poniendola en
las lengOentas inferiores y encajandola de regreso en su sitio.
5. Presione "Filter Reset" (Reajuste del filtro) en la pantalla
"Odor Filter" (Filtro de olores) [en el ment_ de "Options"
(Opciones), bajo "Exhaust/Odor Filter" (Filtro de escape/de
olores)].
FILTROS DE GRASA
Cbmo extraer y remplazar los filtros de grasa:
1. Extraiga cada uno de los filtros de grasa empujando hacia
arriba la parte trasera del filtro, agarrando la leng0eta y luego
deslizando el filtro hacia atras. Tire de la leng(Jeta hacia abajo
hasta que caiga el filtro.
2. Reemplace los filtros de grasa insertando en el marco el
extremo sin la leng0eta. Haga girar el otro lado hacia arriba y
deslicelo en su sitio.

encapsulado de 10W y de bajo voltaje. Si desea hacer un pedido

Cbmo reemplazarlo:
1. Desenchufe el homo de microondas o desconecte el
suministro de energia,
2. Quite el tornillo de montaje de la tapa del foco y quite la tapa

Cbmo reemplazarlo:

7. Reemplace el foco sosteniendolo con un pafiuelo de papel o
usando guantes de algod6n. Nunca toque el foco con los

8. Cierre la tapa del foco,
9. Vuelva a colocar el filtro de carb6n para olores.
10. Deslice en su sitio la parte superior de la rejilla de ventilaci6n.
Empuje la base hasta que encaje en su sitio.
11. Enchufe el homo de microondas o reconecte el suministro de
energia.

1 taza (250 mL) de agua y encienda el horno de microondas
nuevamente. Si at]n no funciona, consulte a un tecnico

Coloque dos rebanadas de pan en el asador circular, coloque
la rejilla en la bandeja giratoria y cierre la puerta. Programe el
homo de microondas utilizando el asador manual o a la
medida - sin microondas - por 4 minutes (vea la secci6n
"Asador"). El pan se debe tostar con un color marr6n oscuro.

Interferencia de radio, TV o tel_fono inal&mbrico
