CALIFORNIA SAFE DRiNKiNG WATER AND TOXIC ENFORCEMENT ACT

This act requires the Governor of California to publish a list of substances known to the state to cause cancer,

birth defects, or other reproductive harm and requires businesses to warn customers ot: potential exposure to

such substances. Gas appliances can cause minor exposure to four of these substances, namely benzene, carbon

monoxide, formaldehyde, and soot,caused primarily by the incomplete combustion of natural gas or LPfuels.

Properly adjusted dryers will minimize incomplete combustion. Exposure to these substances can be minimized

further by properly venting the dryer to the outdoors.

GROUNDING REQU|REMENTS

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of

electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. This appliance must be equipped with

a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an

appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

power ci_ult to avoid electrical overload. Improper

power circuits can melt, creating risk of electrical shock

• Remove all packing items and dispose of all shipping

materials properly. Failure to do so can resultin death,

"Place dryer at least 18 inches above the floor far a

garage installation. Failure to do so can result in fire,

* Keep all packaging from children. Packaging material

can be dangerous for children. There isa risk of

suffocation.

flame suchas stoves or cooking ovens. Failure to follow

this warning can cause product deformation, smokeand

Do not place candles, smoking materials, or other

flammables on top of the product. Dripping wax,

smoke, or fire can result.

Exhaus|/Ducfing:

"Gas dr_ers MUST be exhausted to the outside. Failure

tofollow these instructions can resultin fire or death.

* The dryer exhaust system must be exhausted to the

outside of the dwelling, if the dryer is not exhausted

outdoors, some fine llnt and large amounts of

moisture will be expelled into the laundry area. An

accumulation of lint in any area of the home can

create a health and fire hazard.

• Use only rigid metal or flexible metal 4 inch diameter

duct inside the dryer cabinet or for exhausting to the

outside. Use of plastic or other combustlble ductwork

can cause a fre. Punctured ductwork can cause a fire

if it collapses or becomes otherwise restricted in use or

during installation.

* Ductwork is not provided wffh the dryer, and you

should obtain the necessary du_ork locally. The end

cop should have hinged dampers to prevent backdraff

when the dryer is not in use. FaiJure to follow these

instructionscan result infire or death.

* The exhaust duct must be 4 inches (10.2 cm) in

diameter with no obstructions. The exhaust duct

should be kept as short as possible. Make sure to

clean any old ducts before installing your new dryer.

Failure to follow these instructionscan result infire or

death.

• Rigid or semi rigid metal ductlng is recommended _

for use between the dryer and the wall. In special

installations when it is impossible to make a

connection wffh the above recommendations, a UL

listed fexible metal |ransi|ion duct may be used

between the dryer and wall connection only. The

use of this ducting will affect drying time. Failure to

follow these instructions can resuff in fire or death.

• DO NOT use sheet metal screws or other fasteners

which extend into the duct that could catch llnt and

reduce the efllciency of the exhaust system. Secure

all joints with duct tape. For complete details, follow

the Installation Instructions. Failure to follow these

instructionscan result in fire or death.

SAFETY INSTRUCT|ONS FOR CONNECTING ELECTRICITY

* Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove

the ground prong from the power cord. To prevent

personal injury or damage to the dryer, the electrical

power cord must be plugged into a properly

grounded outlet.

grounded. Failure to do so can result in electrical

shock or injury.

• Refer to the installation instructions in this manual

for specific electricaJ requirements far your model.

Failure to follow these instructionscan create an

electrical shock hazard and/or a fire hazard.

• This dryer must be plugged into a properly grounded

outlet. Electrical shock can resuJt if the dryer is not

properly grounded. Have the wall outlet and circuit

* The dryer should always be plugged into its own

individual electrical outlet which has a voffage rating

that matcFJes the rating plate. This provides the best

performance and also prevents overloading house

* Never unplug your dryer by pulllng on the power

cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull straight

out from the outlet. The power cord can be damaged,

iMPORTANT: Read all installation instructions completely before installing and operating your dryer.

it is important that you review this entire manual before installing and using your dryer. It contains detailed

instructionsconcerning electrical connections, gas connections and exhaust requirements.

CHOOSE THE PROPER LOCATION

• A location that allows for proper exhaust installation.

A gas dr_er must be exhausted to the outdoors. See

Ven|ing the Dryer.

• A grounded electrical outlet located within 2 ft. (61

crn) of either side of the dryer. See Connecting Electric

Dryers.

"A sturdy _oor to support the total dryer weight of 200

Ibs (90.7 _g). The combined weight of a companion

appliance should also be considered.

• No other fuel-burning appliance can be installed in the

same closet as a dryer.

• Store and install the dryer where it will not be exposed

to temperatures below freezing or exposed to outdoor

weather conditions.

• Choose a location with a solid, level floor with a

maximum slope of I inch (2.5 cm} under the entire

dryer. Pfthe slope isgreater than 1 inch (2.5 cm), install

the Extended Dryer Feet Kit. Clothes may not tumble

properly, and automatic sensorcyctes may not operate

correctly if the dryer is not level.

• if thedryer is being instaffed in a garage, place the

dryer at least 18 inches 146 cm} above the floor. If

using a pedestal, you will need 18 inches (46 cm) to

the bottom of the dryer.

"To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not install the

dryer in damp or wet locations.

Do not operate your dryer at temperatures below 45°F

(7°C). At lower temperatures, the dryer might not shut

off at the end of an automatic cycle. This can result

in !onger drying times. The dryer must not be installed

or stored in an area where it will be exposed to water

and/or weather. Check code requirements. Some

codes limit, or do not permib installation of the dryer

in garages, closets, mobile homes or sleeping quarters.

Contact your local building inspector.

NOTE: Installing the dryer in a humid space, or

installing or storing the dryer where it will be exposed

to the weather or freezing temperatures, may result in

rust or other damage that is not covered by the product

warranty.

GAS REQUIREMENTS (GAS MODELS ONIY)

* Gas supply requirements: As shipped from the

factory, this dryer is configured for use with natural

gas (NG), It can be converted for use with propane

(LP) gas, Gas pressure must not exceed 8 inches

wafer column far (NG), ar 13 inches wafer column for

(LP).

• A qualified service or gas company technician must

connect the dryer to the gas service. Failure to follow

these instructionscan result in fire, explosion, or death.

•Supply ilne requirements: Your laundry roam must

have a rigid gas supply line to your dryer, in the

MUST be installed within at least 6 ft. (1.8 m) of the

dryer, in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code

ANSi Z223.1 or Canadian gas insfallatlon code CSA

B149.1. A _ inch NPT pipe plug must be installed.

• if using a rigid pipe, |he rigid pipe should be ½ inch

IPS. if accep|able under local codes and ordinances

and when acceptable to your gas suppller, _ inch

lengths in excess of 20 ft. (6.1 m). Failure to do so can

• Connect the dryer fo the type of gas shown on

the nameplate. Failure to do so can result in fire,

explosion, or death.

=To prevent contamination of the gas valve, purge |he

gas supply of air and sediment before connecting

the gas supply to the dryer. Before |igh|enlng the

connection between the gas supply and the dryer,

purge remaining air until the odor of gas is detected,

• DO NOT use an open flame to inspect for gas leaks.

Use a noncorrosive leak detection fluid. Failure to do

so can result in fire, explosion, or death.

* Use only a new AGA- or CSA=certifled gas supply

llne with flexible stainless steel connectors. Failure to

do so can result in fire, explosion, or death.

• Securely tighten all gas connections. Failure to do so

can result in fire, explosion, or death.

• Use Teflon tape or a pipe-joint compound that is

insoluble in propane (LP) gas on all pipe threads.

Failure to do so can result in fire, explosion,

or death.

• DO NOT attempt any disassembly of the dryer;

disassembly requires the aflenfion and fl_is of

an authorized and qualified service technician or

company. Failure to follow this warning can result in fire,

explosion, or death.

=Do no|_ under any circumstances, cut or remove the

third (ground) prong from the power cord. Failure

to follow this warning can result in fire, explosion, or

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR

GAS MODELS ONLY "This dryer must be plugged into a 120-VAC, 60-Hz.

grounded outlet protected by a 15-ampere fuse or

VENTING THE DRYER

iMPORTANT! CHECK YOUR EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR PROBLEMS

The most common cause of dryer problems is poor exhaust venting. Before installing your new dryer, check the

items listed below to make sure you get the best possible performance. This can save you time and money by

reducing cycle times and increasing energy e_ciency.

* DIRTY OR DAMAGED EXHAUST DUCTS. Lint builds up in exhaust ducts over time. This decreases the airflow and

makes the dryer work harder. Visually inspect your ducts from both ends and have them c_eaned if they have not

been clecned recently.

*WRONG VENT MATERIAL. Check your vent to make sure it is rigid or semi-rigid metal ducting. If your venting is

pJastic or flexible foil, have it replaced before using the dryer.

"RESTRICTED OR DAMAGED VENT HOOD. Check your vent hood outside, it must be clean and free of lint buildup.

Check the damper and make sure it opens fully and easily.

* EXCESSIVELY LONG VENT. Measure the length of your exhaust system and count the elbows. Use the chart below

to see if your duct is too long. If it is too long, have the duct routed to another location that iswithin the

venting guidelines.

* DO NOT USE PLASTIC OR FOIL VENTING. The transition duct from your dryer to the wall must be rigid or

semi-rigid metal ducting. If your old transition duct is plastic or foil, REPLACE IT with semi-rigid metal ducfing.

Routing and Connecting Ductwork

Follow the guidelines below to maximize dryer

performance and reduce lint buildup and condensation

in the ductwork.

NOTE: Transition duct and fittings are NOT included

and must be purchased separately.

* Use 4 inch (102ram) diameter rigid or semi-rigid

metal duct.

- The exhaust duct run should be as short as possible.

"Use as few elbow joints as possible.

"The male end of each section of exhaust duct must

point away from the dryer.

* Use duct _ape on all joints. Never use screws.

* Insulate ducts that runs through unheated areas in

order to reduce condensation and lint buildup on

duct surfaces.

"The total _ength of semi-rigid metal transition duct

should not exceed 8 ft. (2.4 m).

|MPORTANT: Failure to exhaust the dryer, per the

Connecting the Dryer Vent

Verify all ducts and elbows are clean and free

from any blockages.

Measure duct length. DO NOT exceed the

maximum length listed in the Duct Length Chart.

Connect dryer exhaust to existing duct.

- Only use duct tape or clamps.

"DO NOT use screws to secure ductwork.

* Use rigid or semi-rigid metal ducts.

oDO NOT use plastic or thin metal foil tubing

for ductwork.

- The male end of each elbow must always point in

the direction of the airflow.

NOTE: Be careful when moving the dryer into its

final location. Do NOT crush the duct. Make sure the

connections do not come loose,

CONNECTING THE iNLET HOSE

The dryer must be connected to the cold water tap

using the new water supply hose. Do not use old hoses,

LEVELING THE DRYER

WARNING:

To reduce the risk of injury to persons, adhere to all

industry recommended safety procedures including

the use of long sleeved gloves and safety glasses.

• The appliances are heavy. Two or more people are

required when installing the dryer. Failure to follow

this warning can cause serious injury or death.

Toensure that the dryer provides optimal drying

performance, it must be level. To minimize vibration,

noiset and unwanted movement, the floor must be a

leveln solid surface.

NOTE: Adjust the teve]ing feet onry as far as necessary

to level the dryer. Extending the leveling feet more than

necessary can cause the dryer to vibrate.

0 Use a wrench to turn the leveling feet. Turn the

leveling foot clockwise to raise the dryer; turn the

foot counterclockwise to lower the dryer. Using a

leveb adjust the feet until the dryer is level from side

to side and front to back. Make sure all four feet

are in firm contact with the floor.

NOTE: if you are installing the dryer on the optional

pedestal, the dryer leveling feet shouldbe fully retracted.

Use the leveling feet on the pedestal to level the dryer.

Leveting Feet

Position the dryer in the final location. Place a level

across the top of the dryer.

Aft four leveling feet must rest solidly on the floor.

Gently pushon the top corners of the dryer to make

surethat the dryer does not rock from corner to corner.

Testing Dryer Heating

Close the dryer door, press the POWER button to turn

the dryer on, and start the dryer on a heat setting. When

the dryer starts,the igniter should ignite the main burner.

NOTE: If all air is not purged from the gas line, the gas

igniter may turn off before the main burner ignites, if

this happens, the igniter will tea,tempt gas ignition unfit

all the air ispurged from the gas line.

ELECTRIC MODELS

Close the dryer door, press the POWER button to turn

the dryer on, and start the dryer on a heat setting. The

exhaust air should be warm after the dryer has been

operating for 3 minutes.

Checking Airflow

Effective dryer operation requires proper airflow. The

adequacy of the airflow can be measured by evaluating

the static pressure. Static pressure in the exhaust duct

can be measured with a manometer, placed on the ex-

haust duct approximately 2 ft. (60.9 cm) from the dryer.

Static pressure in the exhaust duct should not exceed

0.6 inches (1.5 cm). The dryer should be checked while

the dryer isrunning with no load.

Checking Levelness

Once the dryer is in its final location, recheck the dryer

to be sure it is level Make sure it islevel front to back

and side to side, and that all four leveling feet are

firmly on the floor.

Checking Venting

The vent duct should be checked for lint buildup and

cleaned at least once per year. If any noticeable

reduction in drying performance occurs, check the duct

for obstructions and blockages.

CHECK VENT INDICATOR

(DUCT BLOCKAGE SENSING SYSTEM)

The CHECK VENT duct blockage sensing system

detects and alerls you to blockages in the ductwork

that reduce exhaust flow from the dryer. This light

does notindicate any problems with your dryer.

covered by your dryer's warranty. There are services

STEAM REFRESHCYCLE

The STEAM REFRESH cycleusesthe power of steam

to quickly reduce wrinkles and odor in fabrics.

It also refreshes wrinkled clothes that have been

stored for an extended period of time, and it can

make heavily wrinkled clothes easier to iron. STEAM

REFRESHcan also be used to help reduce odors in

fabrics.

starting a new load; a clogged lint filter wilt increase

NOTE: NEVER tumble dry a load of ctothing with the

rack installed. When the rack is installed, the drum will

rotate as usual, but the rack wiff not move. Make sure all

articles to be dried remain completely on the rack and

cannot fall off or be pulled off by the turning drum. Be

sureto remove the rack after use.

CHIME

The CHIME button adjusts the volume of the

chime or turns it off. Pressthe button repeatedly

until the desired sound level isreached.

CONTROL LOCK

r_ Use this option to disable the controls. All

The STEAM REFRESHcycle usesthe power of steam

on extended period of time, and it can make heavily

wrinkled clothes easier to iron. STEAM REFRESHcan

also be used to help reduce odors in fabrics. Use this

feature with small loads (1 - 4 items).

REGULAR CLEANING

C|eaning the Exterior

Proper care of your dryer can extend its life. The outside

of the machine can be cleaned with warm water and

a miJd, nor,abrasive household detergent. Immediately

wipe off: any spillswith a soft, damp cloth.

iMPORTANT: Do not use cleaning alcohols, solvents, or

similar products.

NEVER use steel wool or abrasive cleansers because

they can damage the surface.

Cleaning the interior

Wipe around the door opening and seal with a soft,

damp cloth to prevent lint and dust buildup that could

damage the door seal.

Clean the window with a soft cloth dampened with

warm water and a mild, nonabrasive household

detergent_ then wipe dry.

NEVER use steel wool or abrasive cleansers; they can

scratch or damage the surface.

Cleaning Around and Under |he Dryer

Vacuum lint and dust from around the dryer and

underneath it regularly.

Some fabric softeners can build up on the lint filter over

time. This buildup can restrict the airflow through the

filter reducing dryer efficiency and lengthening drying

times. After removing lint, if the filter looks dark or dirty

when held up to the light, follow these steps to clean:

Use hot soapy water and o stiff: brush to clean

the filter.

0 Make sure the filter is completely dry before

reinstalling it and using the dryer.

NOTE: NEVER operate the dryer with a wet lint rifler.

Maintaining Ductwotk

Vent ductwork should be checked for lint build up once per

month and cleaned at least once per year. If any noticeable

reduction in airflow or drying performance occurs, immedi-

ately check the ducfwork for obstruction and blockages. Con-

tact a qualified technician or service provider.

The mas_ common cause of dryer problems is poor exhaust venting. Poorexhaust venting may result from the

following conditions:

Vent ducts should be checked for lint buildup and

cleaned at least once per year, If any noticeable

reduction indrying performance occurs, check the ducts

for obstructions and blockages.

If the CHECK VENT indicator illuminates, the exhaust

system should be checked immediately for damage

or obstructions. The CHECK VENT indicator signals a

serious rec_ction in exhaust airflow which wiff greatly

reduce energy e_ciency and increase drying times.

Damaged or restricted exhaust systemsare not covered

by the dryer warranty. Damage to the dryer that is

caused by damaged, restricted, or otherwise inadequate

exhaust systems is not covered by the dryer warranty.

CHECK VENT Indlca_or

The CHECJ< VENT warning system isdesigned to

help you avoid the reduced performance caused by

restrictions in the household exhaust system. The CHECK

VENT indicator illuminates to alert you when problems

in the system occur, so you can have them repaired.

While you should always check and maintain your

exhaust system regularly, the CHECK VENT warning

system will detect and alert you if seriousproblems

develop in your home's exhaust system. This includes

exhaust systemsthat are unsatisfactory for any reason

including c b_ockage in the venting, crushed/kinked

venting, or venting which exceeds the maximum

recommended length requirement as described in the

installatio_ section.

NOTE: The total length includes the _ength from the

back of the dryer to the outside vent hood_ PLUSa

factor for every 90 ° elbow in the exhaust system. For

example, if the distance from the back of the dryer to

the vent hc.od is 30 feet, and there are four elbows in

the system, then it exceeds the 28 foot maximum length

allowed for those conditions.

The CHECK VENT indicator on the control panel will

alert you that the exhaust system is not moving enough

air from the dryer to the outside. This lack of airflow will

lead to long dry times, poor drying and possibly dryer

failure.

As a reminder, external dryer venting isconsidered

part of your home and isnot covered by the product

warranty or protection agreements. There are services

available for cleaning/maintaining the external venting.

duct cleaning service from Sears (if it isavailable in

your area}.

CHECK VENT Operation

The CHECK VENT system uses components already

in the dryer. By monitoring these components over the

course of several cycles, the control is able to determine

how much restriction there is in the exhaust system. If

it detects a high _eve_of restriction, it will turn on the

CHECK VENT light to alert you to the condition. The

dryer will continue to operate after the light comes

on_ but you should have the exhaust system cleaned or

repaired immediately to avoid longer dry times and

higher energy consumption.

IMPORTANT: In order for a dryer to properly and

efflcienfly dry your clothes, it is extremely important

that the exhaust system is as short and clean as

possible, it MUST be lessthan the maximum installation

requirements as outlined in the installation section. It is

also very important that you make sure that when the

dryer is installed, the exhaust system is clean and clear

of any restrictions and isnot kinked or crushed.

Failure to meet these guidelines will result in long dry

times, increased energy consumption and possibly even

clothing damage or dryer failure. When exhaust system

restrictions become extreme, the CHECK VENT light will

blink to alert you to the condition so you can have the

exhaust system cleaned or repaired.

To prevent false alarms and for increased reliability,

the dryer will monitor the exhaust condition for

several loads. If multiple, consecutive cycles exceed

the restriction limits, the control will blink the CHECK

VENT indicator.

A blinking CHECK VENT indicator means the external

venting should be checked for potential restrictions as

soon as possible.

The CHECK VENT indicator will remain active

(blinking) until the restriction is resolved AND the

control has verified the improved airflow for

several cycles.

O After the exhaust iscleaned it will take

repaired,

several cycles for the CHECK VENT indicator to reset

and turn off the light.

NOTE: The CHECK VENT indicator is designed to

measure performance over several consecutive cycles

before activating or deactivating, to avoid false alarms.

A very large load, such as a large comforter_ could

cause the CHECK VENT system to sense that the exhaust

system is restricted, but this would not cause the light to

blink. However_ if several large loads were to run back

to back, the CHECK VENT indicator could be activated.

Should you experience any problems with your

dryer, it has the capability of transmitting data via

your telephone to the Kenmore Connect Team. This

gives you the capability of speaking directly to our

specially trained technicians. The technician records

the data transmitted from your machine and uses it

to analyze the issue, providing a fast and effective

diagnosis.

If you experience probtems with your dryer, call

1-800=4=MY-HOME e. Only use the Kenmore Connect

System feature when instructed to do so by the

Kenmore Connect Team. The transmission soundsthat

you will hear are normal and sound similar to a fax

machine.

Kenmore Connect cannot be activated unlessyour

dryer isturned on by pressing the POWER button, if

your dryer isunable to turn on, then troubleshooting

must be done without using Kenmore Connect.

Using the Kenmore Connect TM System

asociated with your dryer, you wiff be quickly relayed to a Kenmore Connect team agent. Follow the technician's

the call center, no more than one inch from (but not touching} the machine.

NOTE: Do not press any other buttons or turn the cycle selector knob.

LISTEN for three beeps. After you hear the three beeps, release the TEMP button. Keep the

phone in place until the tone transmission has finished. The display will count down the time.

Heavy fabrics take longer to dry because they

tend to retain more moisture. To help reduce

and maintain more consistent drying times for

large and heavy fabrics, separate these items

into smaller loads of a consistent size.

Use the appropriate control settings for the

type of load you are drying. Some loads

may require an adjustment of the DRY LEVEL

setting for proper drying.

Remove the lint from the filter before every

load. With the lint removed, hold the filter up

to a light to see if it isdirty or clogged. If it

looks dirty, follow the cleaning instructionson.

With some loads that produce high amounts

if you are drying a very small load, add a

few extra items to ensure proper tumbling

action. If the load isvery small and you are

using AUTO DRY cycles, the electronic confrot

cannot properly sense the drynessof the load

and may shut off too soon. Use TIMED DRY or

add some extra wet clothes to the load.

Over drying a load of laundry can lead to

wrinkled clothes.Try a shorter drying time or

LESSDRY setting and remove items while they

still retain a slight amount of moisture.

Use the WRINKLE GUARD option. This

feature will tumble the clothes briefly every

few minutes for up to ]50 minutes to help

prevent wrinkling.

To avoid shrinkingyour clothes,always consult

and follow fabric care instructions. Some

fabrics will naturally shrink when washed.

Other fabrics can be washed but will shrink

when dried in a dryer. Use a bw or no heat

Es |mportame que revise por completo este manual antes de instalar y utilizar su secadora. En las siguientes p6ginas se proporcionan

instruccTones pormenorizadas acerca de las conexiones el_ctricas_ las conexiones de gas y tos requisitos de ventilaci6n.

COMO ELEGiR _ UBICACI6N _ ADECUADA

* Un lugar qL_e_permita la _nstalaci6n correcta del sistema de

escape. El secador de gas debe tenet una salida de escape

hacia el exterior. Consulte Requisitos de ventifaci6n

" La salida e_ctrica de toma a fierra debe estar a 61 cm (2

pies) de ambos lados de la secadora.Consulte Requisitos

el_ctricos.

• El suelo debe ser firme para soportar el peso total de la

secadora, siendo dste de 90,7 kg (200 Ibs). Igualmente,

se tendr6 en cuenta el peso combinado de un posible

electrodom_stico acoplado.

° No se puede instalar nlncj_n aparato de combusfi6n en el

mismo comparfimento que la secadora.

* Almacene e instale la secadora en un lugar que no est_

expuesto a temperaturas bajo cero o condiciones ctimdticas

externas.

• Etija una ubicaci6n con un piso s61ido,nivelado con un

declive mdximo de 2,5 cm (1pulgada) debajo de tada la

secadora. Si la pendiente es mayor de 2,5 cm (1 pulgada),

instale el Extended Dryer Feet Kit (kit de patas de la

secadora ampliada). Ropa quizds no rote adecuadamente y

los cictas del sensorautom6tica posiblemente no funcionen

correctamente sila secadora no est6 nivelada.

DiSTANCIAS DE SEPARACI6N

• La mayeria de las instalaciones requieren una distancia de

separaci6n minima de 14 cm (5 V2 puJgadas) en la parte

trasera de la secadora para el conducto de ventilaci6n.

* De_e una distancia de separaci6n minima en los laterales

y parte posterior de 2,5 cm (1 puJgada) para minimizar la

vibraci6n y el ruldo.

• Se recomie_da dejar una distancia de separaci6n adicional

para Ilevar a cabo la instalaci6n y el mantenimiento,

° No olvide tenet en cuenta las molduras de paredes, puertas

o suelot que podrian aumentar la distancia de separaci6n

necesaria.

* Deje al menos 53,3 cm (21 pulgadas} en maparte frontal de la

secadora para abrir la puerta.

* Para la instalaci6n en un garaje, necesita colocar la secadora

a 46 cm (18 pulg.) como minima deI suelo.Si utiliza un

pedestal, debe dejar una separaci6n de 46 cm (18 pulg.)

respecto a la parte inferior de la secadora.

"Para reducir el riesgo de descarga el_ctrica, no instale la

secadora en espacios h0medos ni mojados.

No utilice la secadora a temperaturas inferioresa 7°C (45°F). A

temperaturas bajas, la secadora puede no apagarse al final de

un ciclo automdtico. Estopuede con]levar a tiempos de secado

mds largos. La secadora no sedebe instalar ni almacenar en

una zona donde pueda estar expuesta al agua o a inclemencias

meteorol6gicas. Compruebe los requi-sitosdel c6digo. Algunos

c6digos lira|tan, o no permiten, la instalaci6n de la secadora en

garajes, muebles cerrados, caravanas o dormitorios. Contacte con

la persona encargada de la inspeccT6nde suedificio.

ilMPORTANTE! COMPRUEBE LA EXISTENCIA DE PROBLEMAS EN SU SISTEMA DE EVACUACION

La causa mc_shabitual de problemas en la secadora es una ventilaci6n deficiente. Antes de instalar su nueva secadara, compruebe

los efementos enumerados a continuaci6n para cjarantizar el mejor rendimiento posible. De esta manera, podr6 ahorrar tTempo y

dinero al reducir los tiempos de los ciclos y aumentar la eficiencia enercj_tica.

• CONDUCTOS DE VENTILACI()N SUClOS O DAI_IADOS. Se produce una acumulaci6n de pelusas con el paso del tiempo en los

conductos ::Jeventilaci6n, to que reduce eJ flu]o de aTre y aurnenta el trabajo de la secadora, lnspeccione visualmente 1os conductos

desde aml:os extremos y Ifmpielos sl no Io ha hecho recientemente.

* MATERIAL INADECUADO DE LOSCONDUCTOS DE VENTILACI(_N. Compruebe que losconductosde ventilaci6n son de metal ricjido

o semirrigic_o.Silosconductosde ventiJacT6nsonde pl6stico o 16m[namet61ica flexible, sustit0yalosantes de utilizar la secadora.

* EXTRACTOR OBSTRUIDO O DAI_IADO. Campruebe su extractor exterior. Debe estar limpio y libre de acumulaciones de pelusas.

ADVE ENCIA:

" Para reducir el r[esgo de lesionespersonales, cumpla con

todos los procedimientos de seguridad recomendados por la

industria, incluyendo el uso de use guantes con mangas rargas

y gafas de seguridad. Si no se cumple con esta advertencia se

podr6n producir heridas graves o muerte.

• Losaparatos son pesados. Se necesitan dos o m6s personas

para la instalacibn de la secadora. Si no se cumple con esta

advertencia se podr6n producir heridas graves o muerte.

Para asegurarse de obtener un secado 6ptimo, la secadora

debe estar nivelada. Para mTnimizarla vibraci6n, losruidos y los

movTm|entosno deseados, la superficie del suelo debe ser firme

y estar nivelada.

NOTA: Ajuste los pies de nivelaci6n s61olo necesario para

nivelar la secadora. Sise extlenden lospies de nivefaci6n m6s

de Io necesario0se pueden provocar vibraciones en la secadora.

Coloque la secadora en su ubicaci6n fTnat.Coloque un

nivel sobre la parte superior de la secadora.

Los cuafro pies de nivelaci6n deben apoyarse firmemente

sobre et suelo. PresioneIicjeramente las esquinas

superioresde la secadora para asegurarsede que noexiste

desequilibrioentre elias.

Use una Ilave inglesa para girar los pies de nivelaci6n.

Gire el pie de nTvelaci6nen sentido horario para elevar

MODELOS A GAS

Cierre la puerta de la secadora, apriete el interruptor ON/OFF

para encender la secadora, e iniciar la secadora en un ajuste de

ca]or.Cuando inicia la secadora, el encendedor deber6 encender

el quemador principal.

NOTA: Si no se purga todo el aire procedente de la toma de

gas, el generador de chispasde gas podr|a apagarse antes de

encender el quemador principal. Si esto ocurre, el generador de

chispas volver6 a intentar encender el gas hasta que se purgue

todo el aire procedente de la torna de gas.

MODELOS ELI_CTRICOS

Cierre la puerta de la secadora, apriete el interruptar ON/OFF

para encender la secadora, e iniciar la secadora en un ajuste

de calor. EJ escape de aire deber6 estar caliente despu_s de

que la secadora haya funcionado durante 3 minutos.

Revisi6n del flu]o de aire

El funclonamlento efectlvo de la secadora requiere de un flujo

de aire adecuado. La correcci6n del flujo de aire puede medirse

evaluando la presi6n est6tica. La presi6n est6tica del conducto

det escape se puede medir con un man6metro, colocado en el

conducto de escape aproximadamente a 2 pies (60,9 cm) de

distancia de la secadora. La presi6n est6tica del conducto de

escape no deberia exceder las 0,6 puJgadas (1,5 cm). Se debe

revisar la secadora mientras est6 funcionando sin carga

Una vez que la secadora se encuentra en su ubicaci6n final,

vueJva a revisor que Ja misma se encuentre niveJada. AsecjOrese

Utilce losajustes de control adecuados al tipa de
