SAFETY TIPS
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING: READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR PERSONAL INJURY, MOUNT TO OUTLET BOX MARKED 'ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT OF 35 LBS (15.9 KG) OR LESS' AND USE
MOUNTING SCREWS PROVIDED WITH THE OUTLET BOX AND/OR SUPPORT DIRECTLY FROM BUILDING STRUCTURE. MOST OUTLET BOXES COMMONLY USED FOR THE SUPPORT OF LUMINARIES
ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT AND MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. CONSULT A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IF IN DOUBT

1. Be cautious! Read all instructions and safety information before installing your new fan. Review the accompanying assembly diagrams.
2. Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualied person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards (ANSI/NFPA 70), including re-rated construction.
3. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the manufacturer. If you have any questions, contact the manufacturer.
4. After making the wire connections, gently push connections into outlet box with wire nuts pointing up. The wires should be spread apart with the grounded conductor and the equipment-grounding conductor on one
side of the outlet box and ungrounded conductor on the other side of the outlet box.
5. Before you begin installing the fan and servicing or cleaning unit, switch power o at service panel and lock service disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally. When the service
disconnecting means cannot be locked, securely fasten a prominent warning device, such as a tag, to the service panel.
6. When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.

To reduce the risk of injury to persons, make sure the installation site you choose allows the fan blades to rotate without any obstructions. Allow a minimum clearance of 10 feet from the oor to the trailing edge of the blade.
8. To reduce the risk of electric shock, or personal injury, mount to outlet box marked “acceptable for fan support of 22.7 Kg (50 lb.) or less” and use mounting screws provide with the outlet box and/or support directly
from building structure. Most outlet boxes commonly used for the support of lighting xtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need to be replaced. Consult a qualied electrician if in doubt.
9. WARNING! Do not bend blade holders during installation to motor, balancing or during cleaning. Do not insert foreign object between rotating blades.
10. WARNING! To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, do not use this fan with any solid state fan speed control device, or variable speed control. this fan should only be used with fan speed control part #: BF-5.
11. The combustion airow needed for safe operation of fuel-burning equipment may be aected by this unit’s operation. Follow the heating equipment manufacturer’s guideline safety standards such as those published
by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the local code authorities.
12. All set screws must be checked and re-tightened where necessary before installation.
13. The appliance is not intended for use by young children or inrmed persons without supervision. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
14. WARNING: Read carefully and understand all ASSEMBLY AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS before operating. Failure to follow the safety rules and other basic safety precautions may result in serious personal injury.
15. Save the receipt, warranty, and this manual. It is important that you read the entire manual to become familiar with this product before you begin using it.
16. This fan is designed for certain applications only. Westinghouse is not responsible for issues arising from modication or improper use of this product such as an application for which it was not designed. We strongly
recommend that this product not be modied and/or used for any application other than that for which it was designed.
17. The Widespan 100In. High Volume Ceiling Fan is designed for large, high ceiling areas such as factories, barns, ranches, gyms, and warehouses.
18. The warnings, cautions, and instructions in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions or situations that could occur. Exercise common sense and caution when using this tool. Always be aware of the environment
and ensure that the tool is used in a safe and responsible manner.

DO NOT allow persons to operate or assemble this product until they have read this manual and have developed a thorough understanding of how the product works. Industrial or commercial applications must follow OSHA requirements.
20. Do not modify this product in any way. Unauthorized modication may impair the function and/or safety and could aect the life of the product. There are specic applications for which the product was designed.
21. Use the right tool for the job. DO NOT attempt to force small equipment to do the work of larger industrial equipment. There are certain applications for which this equipment was designed. This product will be safer
and do a better job at the capacity for which it was intended. DO NOT use this equipment for a purpose for which it was not intended.
