What is UV-C and why is it so effective at destroying germs like bacteria,
viruses, and mold?
UV-C is part of the ultraviolet light spectrum that is filtered out by the earth’s atmosphere. The
“C” stands for the particular frequency of UV light that kills germs, (200nm to 280nm). UV-C light
is highly effective at killing microorganisms. Hospitals use UV-C light to sanitize surfaces.

FEATURES GUIDELINES FOR HOUSEHOLD APPLICATIONS
Sanitizing Tip: Effective disinfecting can generally be achieved in 20 seconds at a distance of
approximately 1 inch.
1. Bed mattresses, quilts, pillows: Vacuum the mattress first. Hold UV-C Light Wand
approximately 1 inch above the surface and move the UV-C light wand over a 12 inch area
for 20 seconds. Continue until the entire desired surface is covered.
2. Animal mattresses and enclosures. Refer to Number 1 for directions.
3. Personal hygiene items: Expose items such as personal razors, brushes combs and other
personal hygiene implements at close range for a minimum of 10 seconds.
4. Kitchen utensils: Hold the wand at close range, exposing knives, utensils, chopping boards for
a minimum of 10 seconds. Use away from water sources.
5. Bathroom Germs and Odors: Hold the wand approximately 2 inches above the surface of the
toilet seat or sink and slowly move the wand sideways over the entire surface for a total of
20 seconds. Be careful not to immerse the wand in water.
6. Shoes: Expose once a week at close range for five minutes to help kill germs that cause odors.
Expose the soles of your shoes more frequently - the soles are the major source of bringing
bacteria into the home!
7. Computers, Doorknobs, Telephones, etc.: Expose at a distance of 1 inch for approximately
10 seconds.
1. Ultraviolet (UV-C) light kills up to 99% of bacteria & viruses. It also fights odors and allergens
like mold & dust mites.
2. Portable handheld design is easy to operate.
SAFETY FEATURES
1. Special glass filter which shields and protects users from direct contact with UV ray.
2. The UV light automatically turns off after the prescribed time period has passed.
3. The UV light automatically shuts off when the wand has been turned over (bulb facing up).
The wand will resume working when turned back in the working position (bulb facing down).

1. Insert Battery: Open the battery cover. Insert 4 AA Alkaline
batteries into the battery compartment and close the cover.
UV-C Mini Sanitizer Wand is ready to work. (Fig. 1)
2. To Turn On: Press “on” button and hold until light blinks.
Press the “on” button again to activate the UV-C light.
UV-C light will stay on. (Fig. 2)
3. Lower Voltage Warning: When battery voltage reaches down
to 3.8V, UV-C Mini Sanitizer Wand will start beeping for
about 10 seconds. If no battery replacement is made after
the beep warning, unit will automatically turn off the power.
(Germicidal lamp and LED indicator light will turn off.)
4. To Turn Off: Simply press the switch once while UV-C light
wand is still in operation. (Fig. 3)
5. Safety Switch: UV-C Mini Sanitizer Wand contains a safety
switch. The safety switch protects users from direct contact
with the UV-C light. When the UV-C lamp is turned to the
upright position (bulb facing up) the switch will automatically
cut off the UV-C light. When the UV-C lamp is pointing
downwards it will resume lighting. (Fig. 4)

This device contains mercury in the sealed ultraviolet bulbs. Do not place your used

BROKEN BULB CLEAN UP
Do not use a household vacuum. Sweep debris (phosphor/glass) into a plastic bag and dispose
of properly. It is recommended that the UV-C bulbs are recycled or taken to a household-hazardous-
waste collection center. Call your county recycling coordinator to find the recycling center

INSTRUCTIONS D’UTILISATION MÉNAGÈRE
Astuce d’assainissement : Une désinfection efficace peut généralement être accomplie en
20 secondes à une distance d’environ 1 po.
1. Matelas, dessus-de-lit, coussins : Passez l’aspirateur sur le matelas tout d’abord. Maintenez le
bâton à rayons UVC à environ 1 po de la surface et effectuez un balayage sur une surface de
12 po pendant 20 secondes. Continuez de manière à exposer l’ensemble de la surface aux
rayons ultraviolets.
2. Lit d’animaux et niches. Reportez-vous aux instructions numéro 1.
3. Accessoires d’hygiène personnelle : Exposez les objets personnels, notamment les rasoirs,
brosses, peignes et autres accessoires d’hygiène pendant au moins 10 secondes près de
l'appareil.
4. Ustensiles de cuisine : Tenez le bâton près des ustensiles de manière à exposer les couteaux,
les planches à découper,etc., pendant au moins 10 secondes. Utilisez toujours le produit loin
de toute source d’eau.
5. Germes et odeurs de salle de bain : Tenez le bâton à environ 2 po du siège de toilette ou du
lavabo puis effectuez lentement un balayage latéral sur toute la surface pendant au moins
20 secondes. Attention, n’immergez pas le bâton dans l’eau.
6. Chaussures : Exposez les chaussures pendant 5 minutes près de l'appareil, une fois par
semaine pour éliminer les germes causant les odeurs. Exposez plus souvent les semelles de
vos chaussures ; les semelles sont le moyen idéal de transporter les bactéries dans votre
maison !
7. Ordinateurs, poignées de porte, téléphones, etc. : Exposez ces objets à 1 po de l'appareil
pendant environ 10 secondes.
1. Installation des piles : Ouvrez le couvercle du compartiment
à piles. Insérez 4 piles alcalines AA dans le compartiment
puis refermez le couvercle Le mini bâton assainisseur à
rayons UVC est prêt à l’emploi. (fig. 1)
2. Mise en marche : Appuyez sur le bouton « On » de mise en
marche et tenez-le jusqu’à ce que la lumière clignote.
Appuyez à nouveau sur le bouton « On » pour activer les
rayons UVC. La lampe UVC restera allumée. (fig. 2)
3. Avertissement de baisse de tension : Lorsque la tension est
inférieure à 3,8 volts, le mini bâton assainisseur à rayons
UVC émet des bips pendant 10 secondes. Si les piles ne
sont pas remplacées après l’avertissement par bips, l’unité
s’arrête automatiquement. (la lampe germicide et le témoin
DEL s’éteignent).
4. Arrêt : Appuyez simplement sur l’interrupteur une fois
pendant que le bâton est en fonctionnement. (fig. 3)
5. Interrupteur de sécurité. Le mini bâton assainisseur à rayons
UVC est équipé d’un interrupteur de sécurité. L’interrupteur
de sécurité protège les utilisateurs contre un contact direct
avec les rayons UVC. Lorsque la lampe UVC est en position
verticale (ampoule vers le haut) l'interrupteur arrête automa-
tiquement l’émission de rayons UVC. Lorsque la lampe UVC
est vers le bas, l’émission de rayons UVC reprend. (fig. 4)

MISE AU REBUT DES PILES
Pour préserver les ressources naturelles, les piles doivent être recyclées ou éliminées selon une

soient recyclées ou apportées à un point de collecte de déchets domestiques dangereux.

¿Qué es la luz UV-C y por qué es tan efectiva para destruir gérmenes como las
bacterias, virus, ácaros del polvo y moho?
La luz UV-C forma parte del espectro de luz ultravioleta que es filtrada por la atmósfera terrestre. La
letra “C” indica la frecuencia particular de la luz UV que elimina los gérmenes (200 nm hasta 280
nm). La luz UV-C es altamente efectiva para eliminar microorganismos. Los hospitales utilizan la luz
UV-C para desinfectar superficies.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE SEGURIDAD
1. Filtro de vidrio especial que bloquea y protege a los usuarios contra el contacto directo con los
rayos UV.
2. La luz UV se apaga automáticamente después de que transcurre el período prescrito.
3. La luz UV se apaga automáticamente cuando la lanza se voltea (con el foco mirando hacia
arriba). La lanza volverá a funcionar cuando se voltea a su posición de funcionamiento (con el
foco mirando hacia abajo).

PAUTAS PARA LAS APLICACIONES DOMÉSTICAS
Punta desinfectante: Una desinfección eficaz se logra por lo general en 20 segundos a una
distancia de 2.54 cm.
1. Colchones, edredones, almohadas: Primero, limpie el colchón con una aspiradora. Sostenga la
minivara de luz UV-C aproximadamente a 2.54 cm por encima de la superficie y muévala a lo
largo de un área de 30.18 cm durante 20 segundos. Continúe de la misma manera hasta que
haya cubierto toda la superficie deseada.
2. Colchones y recintos de animales. Consulte las instrucciones en el N° 1.
3. Artículos de higiene personal: Exponga los artículos, por ejemplo, las navajas de rasurar, los
cepillos, los peines y otros implementos para la higiene personal a poca distancia durante
10 segundos como mínimo.
4. Utensilios de cocina: Sostenga la minivara cerca de los cuchillos, utensilios, tablas de picar
durante 10 segundos como mínimo. Use la minivara lejos de fuentes de agua.
5. Gérmenes y olores en los baños: Sostenga la minivara aproximadamente a 5 cm por encima
del asiento del inodoro o lavabo y mueva la minivara lentamente hacia los lados para cubrir toda
la superficie durante 20 segundos en total. Tenga extremo cuidado de no sumergir la minivara
en el agua.
6. Zapatos: Expóngalos una vez a la semana a corta distancia durante cinco minutos para ayudar
a eliminar los gérmenes causantes de olores. Exponga las suelas de los zapatos con mayor
frecuencia, las suelas son la principal fuente de ingreso de bacterias en el hogar.
7. Computadoras, picaportes, teléfonos, etc.: Expóngalos a una distancia de 2.54 cm
aproximadamente durante 10 segundos.

1. Inserte la batería: Abra la tapa del compartimiento de las
baterías. Instale cuatro (4) baterías alcalinas AA en el
compartimiento y cierre la tapa. La minivara desinfectante
UV-C está lista para funcionar. (Fig. 1)
2. Para encender: Presione el botón de encendido ("on") y
manténgalo presionado hasta que la luz parpadee. Presione
el botón de encendido de nuevo para activar la luz UV-C. La
luz UV-C permanecerá encendida. (Fig. 2)
3. Advertencia de bajo voltaje: Cuando el voltaje de la batería
llega a 3.8 V, la minivara desinfectante UV-C comenzará a
emitir un sonido durante 10 segundos aproximadamente. Si
no se reemplaza la batería después de que se escucha el
sonido, la unidad se apagará automáticamente. (La lámpara
germicida y la luz indicadora LED se apagarán.)
4. Para apagar: Simplemente oprima el interruptor una vez
mientras la minivara de luz UV-C aún está funcionando.

5. Interruptor de seguridad: La minivara desinfectante UV-C
tiene un interruptor de seguridad. Este interruptor protege a
los usuarios del contacto directo con la luz UV-C. Cuando la
minivara UV-C se voltea hacia arriba (con el foco mirando
hacia arriba), el interruptor apaga inmediatamente la luz
UV-C. Cuando la minivara UV-C mira hacia abajo volverá a
encenderse. (Fig. 4)

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
ELIMINACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA
Para preservar los recursos naturales, elimine o recicle las baterías usadas de manera adecuada.
Este producto DEBE ser desechado apropiadamente. Las leyes locales, estatales o federales pueden
prohibir la eliminación de baterías en la basura doméstica regular. Consulte a la autoridad local que
supervisa la eliminación de desechos para obtener información sobre las opciones disponibles de
reciclado o eliminación.
ELIMINACIÓN DEL FOCO
MAVISO DE MERCURIO
Este dispositivo contiene mercurio en los focos ultravioleta sellados. No deseche los
focos usados en la basura. Deséchelos de manera apropiada.
LIMPIEZA DE UN FOCO ROTO
No use una aspiradora doméstica. Barra los residuos (fósforo / vidrio), colóquelos en una bolsa de
plástico y deseche de la manera apropiada. Se recomienda reciclar los focos UV-C o llevarlos a un
centro de recolección de residuos peligrosos domésticos. Llame al coordinador de reciclado del
condado para saber la ubicación del centro de reciclado más cercano a su domicilio.
