Power connection

se only the power source marked

R Do not overload power outlets and
extension cords. This can result in

Installation

o prevent the risk of fire or
electrical shock, do not expose the
product to rain or any type of
moisture.
R Do not place or use this product
near automatically controlled

and fire alarms. Radio waves
emitted from this product may cause
such devices to malfunction
resulting in an accident.
R Do not allow the AC adaptor to be
excessively pulled, bent or placed
under heavy objects.
R Install the product only on a vertical
surface. Do not install the product on
a ceiling, as the product may fall,
resulting in damage or injury.
R Keep small parts (screws, etc.) out
of the reach of children. There is a
risk of swallowing. In the event they
are swallowed, seek medical advice
immediately.

Operating safeguards
R Unplug the product from power
outlets before cleaning. Do not use
liquid or aerosol cleaners.
R Do not disassemble the product.
R Never put metal objects inside the
product. If metal objects enter the
product, turn off the circuit breaker
and contact an authorized service
center.
Medical
R C
onsult the manufacturer of any
personal medical devices, such as
pacemakers or hearing aids, to
determine if they are adequately
shielded from external RF (radio
frequency) energy. DECT features
operate between 1.92 GHz and
1.93 GHz with a peak transmission
power of 115 mW.
R Do not use the product in health
care facilities if any regulations
posted in the area instruct you not to
do so. Hospitals or health care
facilities may be using equipment
that could be sensitive to external
RF energy.
CAUTION
Installation and location
R N
ever install wiring during a lightning
storm.
R The AC adaptor is used as the main
disconnect device. Ensure that the
AC outlet is installed near the
product and is easily accessible.
R To avoid the risk of strangulation,
keep the product and the AC
adaptor cord at least 1 m (3 feet)
from a child’s crib and out of the
reach of small children.
Preventing accidents and injuries
R Do not put your ear(s) near the
product, as loud sounds emitted
from the product may cause hearing
impairment.
R Do not look directly at the strobe
light when it is flashing. Light emitted
from the strobe light may cause
damage to the eyes.
R Consider the installation
environment carefully when
installing the product. Pay particular
attention to infants, children, and the
elderly, as they may be more
sensitive to loud sounds and strobe
lights.

R The product should be kept away
from heat sources such as heaters,
kitchen stoves, etc. It should not be
placed in rooms where the
temperature is less than 0 °C (32 °F)
or greater than 40 °C (104 °F).

Install the siren in the desired
location.
Registering the siren
This procedure is not required for
d
evices that were included as part of
a bundle.
Before you can use the siren, it must

e registered to the hub.
If you purchased devices separately
(i.e., not as part of a bundle), you must
register each device to the hub.
You can register each device by using
the registration buttons or the [Home
Network] app.
Note:
R Before registering the siren, make
sure the AC adaptors of the hub and
siren are connected and each
device is powered.

Confirming the
usage area
Wireless communication
r
ange
The wireless communication range of
each device in the system from the hub
is approximately 50 m (160 feet)
indoors and approximately 300 m
(1,000 feet) outdoors. Wireless
communication may be unreliable
when the following obstacles are
located between the hub and other
devices.
R Metal doors or screens
R Walls containing aluminum-sheet
insulation
R Walls made of concrete or
corrugated iron
R Double-pane glass windows
R Multiple walls
R When using each device on
separate floors or in different
buildings
Note:
R You can use the siren’s LED
indicator to confirm the siren’s
communication status (page 7). If
the LED indicator is lit in green or is
blinking quickly in red, the siren is
communicating properly with the
hub.
Usage area cautions
U
sing the siren in the following areas
may cause deformation, malfunction, or
operational failure.
R In direct sunlight
R Areas exposed to grease or steam,
such as kitchens
R N
ear fire or heating devices
R Near magnetic fields (such as near
microwaves and magnets)
R Areas subject to extreme
temperature changes, such as next
to air conditioners
R Areas with reflective objects, such
as glass, that can interfere with
detection of temperature variation
R Areas where the temperature is
affected by strong illuminating
objects (such as fluorescent lights)
R Near devices that emit strong radio
waves, such as mobile phones

Installation
Mount the siren on a wall using the
holes in the rear cover.
Note:
R The strobe light flashes when the
siren sounds. Mount the siren in a
location where its strobe light will be
visible.
R Mount the siren on the stable
location where the siren can be
adequately supported when
mounting.
R Mount the siren securely to a wall.
Vibrations may cause it to fall if it is
not secured.
R Do not mount siren on a soft
material. It may fall down, break or
cause injury.
R Do not mount the siren on the
following places: gypsum board,
ALC (autoclaved lightweight cellular
concrete), concrete block, plywood
less than 25.4 mm (1 inch) thick, etc.
R Use only the supplied Panasonic AC
adaptor PNLV236.

R Insert the male plug of the DC
extension cord (C) firmly into
the DC jack (D, E).
R Insert the female plug of the DC
extension cord (F) firmly into
the AC adaptor plug (G).

he AC adaptor must remain
connected at all times. (It is normal
for the adaptor to feel warm during
use.)
R The AC adaptor should be
connected to a vertically oriented or
floor-mounted AC outlet. Do not
connect the AC adaptor to a
ceiling-mounted AC outlet, as the
weight of the adaptor may cause it
to become disconnected.
Power failure

Testing the siren
After you have installed the [Home
Network] app on your mobile device,
you can use your mobile device to test
the siren. For more information, refer to
the User’s Guide (page 12).
1 Start the [Home Network] app,
and tap [Settings].
2 Tap [Device Profiles].
3 Tap [Siren] and then select the
desired siren.
4 Tap [Installation Test].
5 Tap [Play].
Adjusting the siren’s
v
olume
You can adjust the siren’s volume
using the siren’s MHIGHN/MLOWN switch
(page 7).
Features available

hen using the
[Home Network] app
Some of the siren’s features that are
available when using the [Home
Network] app are listed below. For
more information, refer to the User’s
Guide (page 12).
Alarm system
You can use the app to arm and
disarm the alarm system, confirm
the current status of the system’s
devices, and view a log of previous
events. You can also use the app to
stop the siren from sounding.

You can use the app to confirm the
wireless signal strength of the siren,
change the siren’s name, change
whether the siren sounds, flashes,
or both, and test the siren.

Limited Warranty
Mail-In Service--Online
If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship,
Panasonic Corporation of North America (referred to as “the warrantor”) will, for the length
of the period indicated on the chart below, which starts with the date of original purchase
(“Limited Warranty period”), at its option either (a) repair your product with new or
refurbished parts, or (b) replace it with a new or a refurbished equivalent value product, or
(c) refund your purchase price. The decision to repair, replace or refund will be made by
the warrantor.
During the “Labor” Limited Warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During the
“Parts” Limited Warranty period, there will be no charge for parts. You must mail-in your
product prepaid during the Limited Warranty period. This Limited Warranty excludes both
parts and labor for batteries, antennas, and cosmetic parts (cabinet). This Limited
Warranty only applies to products purchased and serviced in the United States or Puerto
Rico. This Limited Warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and only covers
products purchased as new.

When shipping the unit carefully pack in a padded shipping carton, include all
accessories, and send it prepaid. Include a letter detailing the complaint, a return
address and provide a day time phone number where you can be reached. P.O. Boxes
are not acceptable. Keep the tracking number for your records. A copy of valid
registered receipt is required under the 1 year parts and labor Limited Warranty.
For Limited Warranty service for headsets if a headset is included with this
product please follow instructions above.
IF REPAIR IS NEEDED DURING THE LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD THE
PURCHASER WILL BE REQUIRED TO FURNISH A SALES
RECEIPT/PROOF OF PURCHASE INDICATING DATE OF PURCHASE,
AMOUNT PAID AND PLACE OF PURCHASE. CUSTOMER WILL BE

Limited Warranty Limits And Exclusions
This Limited Warranty ONLY COVERS failures due to defects in materials or workmanship,
and DOES NOT COVER normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage. The Limited Warranty
ALSO DOES NOT COVER damages which occurred in shipment, or failures which are
caused by products not supplied by the warrantor, or failures which result from accidents,
misuse, abuse, neglect, bug infestation, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, faulty
installation, set-up adjustments, misadjustment of consumer controls, improper maintenance,
power line surge, lightning damage, modification, introduction of sand, humidity or liquids,
commercial use such as hotel, office, restaurant, or other business or rental use of the
product, or service by anyone other than a Factory Service Center or other Authorized
Servicer, or damage that is attributable to acts of God.
THERE ARE NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES EXCEPT AS LISTED UNDER "LIMITED
WARRANTY COVERAGE". THE WARRANTOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT, OR
ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. (As examples, this
excludes damages for lost time, lost calls or messages, cost of having someone remove or
re-install an installed unit if applicable, travel to and from the servicer. The items listed are not
exclusive, but are for illustration only.) ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, ARE LIMITED TO THE PERIOD
OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights

Instale la sirena en la ubicación
deseada.
Registro de la sirena
Este procedimiento no es necesario para
unidades que son parte de un paquete.
Antes de poder usar la sirena, debe
registrarla en el hub.
Si compró los dispositivos por separado (es
decir, no como parte de un paquete), debe
registrar cada dispositivo en el hub.
Puede registrar cada unidad mediante los
botones de registro o la aplicación [Home
Network].
Nota:
R Antes de registrar la sirena, asegúrese
que todos los adaptadores de corriente
del hub y la sirena estén conectados y
cada dispos
itivo reciba alimentación.
Uso de los botones de registro
1 Hub:
Oprima y mantenga oprimido M

R Si el registro falla, el hub emitirá varios
pitidos cortos.
Uso de la aplicación
Cuando registre la sirena con la aplicación
[Home Network], puede asignar un
nombre a sus dispositivos y agruparlos por
ubicación. Para obtener más información,
consulte la Guía del usuario (página 8).

de uso
Alcance de la comunicación
inalámbrica
El alcance de la comunicación inalámbrica
de cada dispositivo en el sistema del hub
es de aproximadamente 50 m (160 pies) en
interiores y de aproximadamente 300 m
(1,000 pies) en el exterior. Es posible que la
comunicación inalámbrica no sea tan
confiable cuando se encuentran los
obstáculos siguientes entre el hub y otros
dispositivos.
R Puertas o pantallas metálicas
R Par
edes que contengan aislamiento de
aluminio
R Paredes de hormigón o hierro corrugado
R Ventanas de vidrio doble
R Varias paredes
R Cuando los dispositivos están en pisos o
edificios diferentes
Nota:
R Puede usar el Led indicador de la sirena
para confirmar el estado de
comunicación de la sirena (página 3). Si
el Led indicador está encendido en
verde o parpadea rápidamente en rojo,
la sirena se está comunicando
correc
tamente con el hub.
Precauciones respecto al área
de uso
Usar la sirena en las siguientes áreas
puede causar deformación, averías o fallas
de operación.
R A la luz del sol
R En áreas expuestas a grasa o vapor,
como en cocinas
R Cerca del fuego o calefactores
R Cerca de campos magnéticos (como
cerca de hornos microondas e imanes)
R Áreas sujetas a cambios extremos de
temperatura, como cerca de aires
acondicionados
R Áreas con objetos reflectivos, como
vidrios, que pueden interferir con la
detección de la variación de temperatura
R Áreas donde objetos de iluminación
afectan la temperatura (como luces
fluorescentes)
R Cerca de dispositivos que emiten ondas
de radio potentes, como teléfonos
móviles

Instalación
Coloque la sirena en una pared mediante
los agujeros de la tapa posterior.
Nota:
R La luz estroboscópica parpadea cuando
suena la sirena. Coloque la sirena en un
lugar donde su luz estroboscópica sea
visible.
R Monte la sirena en una ubicación
estable donde se pueda sostener con
seguridad.
R Coloque la sirena de forma segura en
una pared. Las vibraciones pueden
provocar que la sirena se caiga si esta
n
o se asegura.
R No coloque la sirena sobre un material
blando. Podría caerse, romperse o
provocar lesiones.
R No monte la sirena en las siguientes
ubicaciones: tablas de yeso, hormigón
celular, bloques de hormigón,
contrachapados con grosor inferior a
25.4 mm (1 pulgadas), etc.
R Use solo el adaptador de corriente
alterna Panasonic PNLV236 que se
suministra.
1 Extraiga la tapa posterior ejerciendo
presión sobre los lados superiores de
la misma (A) y deslícela hacia abajo
(B).

3 Use el alargue de CC (A) para
conectar el adaptador de corriente
(B) a la sirena.
R Inserte el enchufe del alargue de
CC (C) firmemente en el conector
de CC (D, E).
R Inserte la ficha hembra del alargue
de CC (F) firmemente en el
enchufe del adaptador de corriente
(G).
4 Conecte el adaptador de corriente a la
toma de corriente (H).

5 Coloque la sirena en la tapa posterior.
R Inserte las 4 lengüetas de la tapa
posterior en los canales de la
sirena y luego ejerza presión hacia
abajo sobre la sirena.
Nota:
Mientras suena la sirena o la luz
estroboscópica está parpadeando, puede
oprimir M
N para detener la sirena.
Nota acerca de las
conexiones de
alimentación
Adaptador de corriente alterna
R El adaptador de corriente debe
permanecer conectado en todo
momento (es normal que el adaptador
se caliente durante su uso).
R El adaptador de corriente debe estar
conectado a un enchufe de corriente
orientado verticalmente o en una toma
de corriente alterna colocada en el piso.
No conecte el adaptador de corriente
alterna a una toma de corriente montada
en el techo, ya que el
peso del
adaptador puede hacer que se
desconecte.
Falla en el suministro eléctrico
R La sirena no funciona durante las fallas
del suministro eléctrico.

Prueba de la sirena
Después de instalar la aplicación [Home
Network] en su dispositivo móvil, puede
usarlo para probar la sirena. Para obtener
más información, consulte la Guía del
usuario (página 8).
1 Inicie la aplicación [Home Network] y,
luego, oprima [Configuración].
2 Toque [Ajustes de dispositivos].
3 Oprima [Sirena] y, luego, seleccione
la sirena deseada.
4 Toque [Prueba de instalación].
5 Toque [Reproduci

Ajuste del volumen de
la sirena
Puede ajustar el volumen de la sirena con
el interruptor MHIGHN/MLOWN de la sirena
(página 3).
