TrafficMASTER allure ULTRA es lo último en pro-
ductos “hazlo tú mismo” de pisos. Sin necesidad
de usar adhesivos o pegamentos desordenados.
La flexibilidad de allure permite que las tablas
que se instalen sobre contrapisos con desniveles,
(ver Preparar el Contrapiso en la página 4) o los
pisos existentes, tales como la madera natural,
concreto, vinilo, linóleo e incluso cerámica.
¡Para ahorrar tiempo y dinero!
allure ULTRA se ve y se siente como la madera,
es IMPERMEABLE por lo que puede instalarse en
áreas propensas a la humedad donde normal-
mente no se podría instalar un piso de madera o
laminado tradicional, por ejemplo, sótanos y
baños. Ver la sección de preparación del
contrapiso.
¡allure ULTRA tiene una capa de CBT (en
español, Tecnología de Microesferas de
Cerámica) para mayor durabilidad y re-
sistencia al desgaste!
Cada tabla allure se ajusta a otra con su banda
de acople, no es necesario pegarla al contrapiso.
Es flotante. Para cortar una tabla, simplemente
marca y parte de un golpe.
allure no hace ruido ni es frío al pisar.

Tablas necesarias para
completar el proyecto
Mide el largo y ancho de la habitación. Si la
habitación tiene nichos o desniveles, mídelos por
separado. Así obtendrás las medidas en pies
cuadrados de la habitación. Compra al menos 10%
de material adicional para reponer material des-
perdiciado al cortar o por error, y para guardar en
caso de reemplazos o necesidades en un futuro. En
la mayoría de los casos necesitarás un 10% de ma-
terial adicional. No obstante, la cantidad puede
variar según el tamaño del cuarto y la distribución.
allure ULTRA viene en tablas de 121 cm x 19 cm
(47.6" x 7.5") ó 2.48 pies cuadrados (0.06 m
2
)
por tabla. 8 tablas por caja= 19.8 pies cuadrados
(1.84 m
2
) por caja. De tal modo que si tu
habitación tiene 10’ x 10’ ó 100 pies cuadrados
(3.05 m x 3.05 m ó 9.30 m
2
), te recomendamos
comprar 6 cajas (120 pies cuadrados)
CONSEJO ÚTIL NÚM. 1: Para mejores resulta-
dos es importante que compres el producto (las
cajas) del mismo Núm. de LOTE (lote de teñido).
Núms. de lote distintos pueden tener variaciones de
tonalidad. Cada caja de allure tiene el núm. de lote
impreso en los extremos de la caja. Ejemplo de un
núm. de lote: 30.08.2009. Si tienes más de un
núm. de lote, recomendamos especialmente que in-
stales tablas de 4 ó 5 cajas diferentes de lotes con
núm. distintos y que las mezcles aleatoriamente a me-
dida que avances con la instalación. Esto garanti-
zará un piso de aspecto más natural.

If you have old, ugly vinyl and don’t wont to pay for
an expensive removal and remediating job, allure is
the perfect answer. Any loose or damaged tiles
should be patched prior to installing allure over the
old floor. Never sand old vinyl floors from any floor
manufacturer, if you think the floor may be over 20
years old.
PRECAUCIÓN: No instalar allure sobre alfombras ni

no es adecuado para uso en exteriores, terrazas
interiores/solárium, saunas y cuartos donde haya riesgo
de inundación. También recomendamos especialmente

ue no lo instales en habitaciones o viviendas sin control
de la temperatura. La exposición directa al sol a largo
plazo puede causar daños a tu piso. Para obtener más

Acondiciona allure antes de instalar
DEBES almacenar allure de forma horizontal, en la
habitación donde se va a instalar, 48 horas antes de la
instalación. Asegúrate de que la temperatura de la
habitación se encuentre entre los 65 y los 85 grados F.
¡No saques las tablas de la caja durante este período
de aclimatación! Mantén esa misma temperatura durante
el proceso de instalación (2 días mínimos).
Preparar el contrapiso:
La superficie del contrapiso debe estar, lisa, plana, seca,
limpia y firme. Se deben quitar los residuos de adhesivo y
las grapas de alfombra para garantizar una instalación
apropiada.
Los contrapisos deben ser planos con un margen de toler-
ancia de 3/16” (5mm) a lo largo de 10 pies. Cualquier
desnivel superior a 3/16" (5 mm) debe lijarse o rellenarse
con un nivelador de pisos. Hundimientos o levantamientos
en el contrapiso impedirán el ajuste apropiado de allure.
El contrapiso debe revisarse con cuidado para garantizar
que no tenga problemas de humedad. allure ULTRA
es impermeable. Pero NO es un impermeabilizante.
Cualquier problema relacionado con la humedad debe
resolverse antes de proceder con la instalación. Los pisos
nuevos de concreto, deben curarse por un mínimo
de 90 días. Para obtener más información sobre las
especificaciones de instalación, por favor consulte la
tabla en la página 5.
CONSEJO ÚTIL NÚM. 2: Si vas a colocar allure
sobre losas de cerámica, se deberá nivelar las líneas de
lechada con un nivelador de pisos. Si vas a instalar allure
sobre otro piso ya instalado que tenga relieves o líneas
de lechada, debes emparejar con un nivelador de piso si
el relieve o la línea de lechada sobrepasan 1/8”—(3 mm).
Si tienes pisos de vinilo feos o viejos, y no deseas pagar
mucho dinero para quitarlos o renovarlos, allure es la
solución perfecta. Cualquier losa floja o dañada debe
repararse antes de instalar allure sobre el piso viejo.
Nunca lijes ningún piso de vinilo de cualquier fabricante,
si sospechas que puede tener más de 20 años.

1. Primero coloca una fila de tablas sueltas, sin ajus-
tarlas entre sí, para determinar si necesitas ajustar
el largo de la primera tabla, de modo que la
tabla en la pared opuesta a la de inicio, no mida
menos de 12”; o mide el largo de la habitación y
divide por 48” (el largo de una tabla). Si queda
menos de 12”, calcula ? del sobrante y corta esa
medida de la primera tabla. La última tabla de-
bería tener el mismo largo que la primera. Para
cortar una tabla, simplemente mide y marca la
tabla, y usa una escuadra y un cuchillo multiuso
para marcar y partir de un golpe. ¡Así de fácil!
2. La instalación debe empezar por una esquina
(lado izquierdo) y continuar desde la pared con
la lengüeta frente a la pared (Figura 1). Deja un
espacio mínimo de 1/8" (3mm) para que el
contrapiso se mueva o para que el producto
se expanda; dicho espacio quedará oculto al
colocar las molduras.
3. Al colocar la primera fila en línea recta, encaja
los extremos cortos, insertando la lengüeta en las
ranuras en un ángulo aproximado de 10 a 20
grados. Instala cada tabla en secuencia, en el ex-
tremo corto (7.5”) y asegúrate de que estén uni-
formemente alineadas. Lo anterior es muy
importante para lograr una instalación adecuada.
4. Asegúrate de que las uniones queden bien
ajustadas. No debe haber espacios visibles
entre las tablas.
Si las uniones no quedan ajustadas, puedes
levantar inmediatamente las tablas y volverlas a
colocar. Separa con cuidado la tabla superior de
la inferior y simplemente vuelve a colocarla —
según el paso núm. 3. Ten cuidado de no halar
las tablas al separarlas ya que podrías romper o
dañar el listón de ajuste.

shears or tin snips, and lay plank. Be sure to

frames.

pared (Figura 4).
10. Instalación alrededor de objetos irregulares: no
hay problema. Sencillamente coloca un patrón
de papel grueso alrededor de tuberías u objetos
con forma irregular. Coloca el patrón sobre la
tabla y marca. Corta siguiendo las líneas
trazadas, con la ayuda de un cuchillo multiuso o
tijeras resistentes, y coloca la tabla. No olvides
dejar un mínimo de 1/8” de espacio de
expansión alrededor de objetos fijos, ductos de
ventilación en el piso y marcos de puertas.

11. Lo bueno de allure ULTRA es la facilidad de in-
s

comenzar en una habitación y continuar a través
de un umbral hasta otra habitación con el mismo
patrón, y continuar instalando el piso de frente o en
la dirección contraria.
CONSEJO ÚTIL NÚM. 5: Asegúrate de guardar
tablas allure adicionales en caso de necesitar reem-
plazos imprevistos. Si necesitas reemplazar una tabla
de allure ULTRA, sencillamente, corta la tabla
dañada sólo por el lado largo y levántala fuera de
su sitio. Seguidamente, toma la tabla de reemplazo
y corta sólo la lengüeta y la ranura del lado largo de
la tabla. No cortes la lengüeta y la ranura del lado
corto de la tabla. A continuación, sencillamente
coloca la tabla en su lugar y ajusta los dos extremos
cortos hasta encajar.

ULTRA de The Home Depot. Tu nuevo piso re-
sistente fue fabricado según los estándares más altos

vida. Aunque allure es uno de los pisos más fáciles
de cuidar, por favor sigue las recomendaciones de
esta guía para que mantenga esa apariencia nueva
y proteger el acabado de fábrica.
Mantenimiento preventivo:
1. NO usar TAPETES DE GOMA delante de puertas
que lleven al exterior. Así evitarás que la arena o
arenilla se metan en tus pisos. La arena gruesa es
el peor enemigo de cualquier revestimiento de
piso.
2. Instala protectores de piso adecuados (se re-
comienda el fieltro) en las patas de muebles usa-
dos en habitaciones con piso resistente. Los
protectores ayudarán a mover fácilmente las sillas
sobre el piso sin rayarlo o dejar marcas. Limpia
los protectores con frecuencia para eliminar la
arenilla que pueda haberse pegado a la base de
las patas de los muebles. En el caso de sillas gira-
torias de oficina y otros muebles rodantes, por
favor instala ruedas planas de 2”, que no dejen
marcas. No usar ruedas de goma.
3. Si deseas una apariencia óptima de tu piso, quita el
polvo con un trapeador o aspiradora, al menos dos
veces por semana. En pisos expuestos a mucho trá-
fico, haz lo anterior con más frecuencia. No usar
ningún limpiador doméstico contra el polvo, ya que
el piso puede volverse resbaloso o puede dañarse
el acabado. Simplemente, barre el piso tan seguido
como sea necesario.
4. No permitas que las uñas largas de las mascotas
dañen tu piso allure. Ello podría rayar seri-
amente la superficie. Lo mismo puede pasar en el
caso de zapatos de tacón alto sin la tapa ade-
cuada en los tacones.

It has been designed to enhance your experience of installing & maintaining the new resilient flooring allure ULTRA. Each allure plank locks to another plank not glued to your subfloor, using the interlocking strip. It’s free floating. To cut a plank, simply score and snap. allure is quiet and warm under foot. If the room has alcoves or offsets, measure these separately. This will give you the square footage of the room. Purchase a minimum of 10% extra to cover mistakes, trimming and for future needs and or replacement. Most installations require about 10% overage. However this can vary depending upon the room size and layout. allure ULTRA comes in 47.6” x 7.5” planks or 2.48 square feet per plank. 8 planks per case = 19.8 square feet per case. So, if your room is 10’ x 10’ or 100 sq.ft., we would recommend you purchase 6 cases (120 sq.ft) HELPFUL HINT #1: For best results it is important to purchase product (cases) from the same RUN # (dye lot). Different run #’s can have shade variations. Every case of allure has the run # printed on the ends of the case. Run # example: 30.08.2009. If you do have more than one run # we highly recommend you install planks from 4 or 5 different cases from different run #’s at one time and randomly mix them into the installation as you go. Esto garantizará un piso de aspecto más natural. 3 ENGLISH CAUTION: Do not install allure over carpet or any foam underlayment. This product is not suitable for any outside use, sunrooms/solariums, saunas, or rooms that have the potential of flooding. We also highly recommend you do not install in rooms or homes that are not temperature controlled. Exposure to long term direct sunlight can cause damage to your floor. For more information on installation specifications please see the chart on page 5. Acondiciona allure antes de instalar You MUST store allure horizontally in the room of installation for 48 hours prior to installation. Be sure the room temperature is between 65º & 85º F. Do not remove the planks from the case during this acclamation period! Maintain this temperature during installation (2 days minimum). Carpet staples or adhesive residue must be removed to insure proper installation. La superficie del contrapiso debe estar, lisa, plana, seca, limpia y firme. Subfloors must be carefully checked for moisture problems. allure ULTRA is waterproof. It is NOT a waterproofer. Any moisture problems need to be addressed prior to installation. New concrete floors need to cure for a minimum of 90 days. For more information on installation specifications please see the chart on page 5. HELPFUL HINT #2: If laying allure over existing ceramic tile, it will be necessary to skim coat the grout lines with a floor leveler. If you install allure over an existing floor that has an embossing or grout line on it, you must skim coat with a floor leveler if the embossing or grout line is greater than 1/8”— (3 mm). If you have old, ugly vinyl and don’t wont to pay for an expensive removal and remediating job, allure is the perfect answer. Any loose or damaged tiles should be patched prior to installing allure over the old floor. Never sand old vinyl floors from any floor manufacturer, if you think the floor may be over 20 years old. Simply measure the room from opposite ends of the wall to the far wall. If the measurements are different, you can make adjustments on the first row of allure by scribing the plank. 1. Lay a row of loose planks without securing them to each other first to determine if you need to adjust the length of the first plank to avoid a small piece of less than 12” on the opposite wall from where you started. Or, measure the length of the room and divide by 48” (length of one plank). If the remainder is less than 12”, calculate ½ of the remainder and trim this amount off the first plank. The last plank should be the same length as the first one. To cut a plank, simply measure and mark the plank, then using a straight edge and utility knife, simply score the plank and snap. 2. Installation should start in a corner (left hand) and proceed from the wall with the tongue facing the wall (Figure 1). Allow a minimum gap of 1/8” (3mm) for subfloor movement or product expansion, which should be covered by molding. 3. When laying the first row in a straight line interlock the short ends by inserting the tongue into the grooves at an angle of approx.10 to 20 degrees. Install each sequential plank on the short end (7.5”) and be sure to line up evenly. This is very important for a good installation. 4. Be sure to keep the seams tight. There should be no gap visible between planks. If your seam does not appear to be tight, you can immediately pull apart the planks and reapply them. Slowly lift the top plank away from the bottom plank and reapply it — repeating Step #3. Be careful not to pull the planks apart too fast or you could rip or damage the Locking Strip. To start the second row with the plank cut at about 2/3 length (32"), measure and mark the plank. Then using a straight edge and utility knife or shears, score the plank and snap. 7. Interlock the plank tightly against the first row (long side) again at a 10-20 degree angle. The next plank, interlock the short side first, leaving it slightly away from the long side and then slide into the long side. HELPFUL HINT #4: When cutting allure for length, be sure to always cut the short side of the plank with the tongue edge. The remaining piece can then be used on the opposite side of the room, at the end of that row (Figure 3) if layout permits. 8. Start the third row with the plank cut at 1/3 of a length (16”). Again the remaining piece can be used at the opposite end of the row, if the layout of the room permits. 9. Continue this pattern for the remainder of the rows to be installed. Always place the cut end of the first plank against the wall (Figure 4). 10. Fitting around irregular objects is no problem. Simply make a pattern out of heavy paper to fit around pipes or irregular objects. Place the pattern upon the plank and trace. Cut along trace lines using a utility knife or heavy duty shears or tin snips, and lay plank. Be sure to leave a minimum of 1/8” expansion space around all fixed objects, floor vents and door frames. Use NON-RUBBER protective mats in front of any doors leading to the outside. This helps keep the sand and grit from getting on to your floors. Gritty sand is any floor covering's worst enemy. 2. Install proper floor protectors (felt preferred) on all furniture legs used on resilient flooring. Protectors will allow chairs to move easily over the floor without scuffing or scratching. Clean protectors on a regular basis to remove any grit that may have become embedded on the bottom of the furniture leg. For any swiveled type office chairs and other rolling furniture, please install 2” wide non-staining flat casters. Do not use rubber casters. ESPAÑOL cuidado y mantenimiento ¡Felicitaciones! Long term continuous inside temperatures over 95º F degrees combined with strong direct sunlight will damage your allure floor and cause the installation to fail. 6. Do NOT use a steam cleaner on allure flooring as it may result in permanent damage to your floor and will void the warranty. HELPFUL HINT #6: To avoid yellowing from asphalt driveways or parking lots, always use doormats at entranceways. It’s a good idea to use a hard surface floor attachment when vacuuming your allure floor. Regular maintenance: 1. Food spills should be cleaned up as rapidly as possible with a quality liquid vinyl cleaner. Make sure the cleaner you choose is an all-purpose liquid cleaner that is NON-ABRASIVE. We do not recommend powdered cleaners, oil soaps, dishwashing detergents, or other dusting products. Try to use a non-rinsing, biodegradable cleaner that leaves no residue or haze and requires no rinsing after application. 2. If allure Single Step is not readily available, then you may obtain it directly from Halstead. See instructions on how to purchase this cleaner, and other helpful products from Halstead on page 13. 3. Shoe marks and scuffs can be easily removed using a spot application of your allure Single Step and a green Scotch Brite pad. ESPAÑOL 5. Evita la exposición prolongada a la luz directa del sol. The surface of your TrafficMASTER allure floor is very dense and non-porous; this prevents wax from penetrating and thus will build up a bed for yellowing and dirt collection. The same non-porous feature also provides all the protection against wear and staining that you will need. Use only allure Single Step for heavy wear when you have experienced some loss of the original appearance over time. Your TrafficMASTER allure floor has been designed to be very easy to maintain, but you may prefer to add an occasional coat of the allure Single Step to renew and protect your floor. If you cannot locate the allure Single Step, then please ask your Home Depot representative for an equivalent low-gloss product. Additionally, the allure Single Step is available directly from Halstead. See page 13 on how to order. 6. If your floor has been exposed to excessive amounts of water due to flooding, don’t panic, allure ULTRA is waterproof! Simply remove the water as quickly as possible with a Wet-Vac or other device and ventilate the room. A dehumidifier should be promptly turned on in the room to reduce the moisture levels back to normal. Do not dry the room below the normal moisture level that existed previously. 7. If accidental deep scratches appear on your floor then it might be necessary to replace such damaged tiles. Remember HELPFUL HINT #5, please refer to this section for replacing a plank of allure. 8. If the scratches are fine and the result of normal household use, then it is recommended only to fill them with one or two coats of the TrafficMASTER Matte Floor Finish. 9.
