Electric Shock Protector
™
is an innovation in
personal care, specifically engineered for safety. It is for household use
and may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household
current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.
HOW ESP
®
WORKS: This unit is provided with an appliance leakage
current interrupter (ALCI) safety device built into the plug. This device
will make it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as
accidental immersion in water. If the appliance is immersed in water, do
not attempt to reset the ALCI safety device. Please take the unit to the
nearest service facility for examination.
The ALCI safety device is equipped with a test button so that its
operation can be checked.
TO USE:
1. Press the reset button on the ALCI safety device.
2. Plug appliance into AC electrical outlet.
3. Then press the test button. The reset button will pop out.This verifies
that the safety device is operating properly. Should the reset button
not pop out, do not use the unit. Return immediately for service.
4. Press the reset button to re-activate the ALCI safety device and use
the appliance.
Repeat the above procedure each time this appliance is used to confirm
that the safety device is operational.
At any time, should this unit detect an electrical shock hazard, it will
immediately shut off. To restore power, the reset button on the ALCI
safety device must be pressed to reactivate the circuit.
IMPORTANT: Never block air intake grille, as this will cause the unit to
overheat. Should this happen, a built-in safety system will operate, and
the unit will shut off automatically. At this point, turn the switch to Off,
and clear any obstruction from the air intake grille. Wait 10 minutes
before attempting to operate appliance again. If the unit fails to operate,
it may indicate that the appliance has sustained extensive damage.
Do not try to repair it yourself. Take it to an electrical service facility, or
return it to the manufacturer. See warranty for instructions.
CAUTIONS: Heating section should never be touched, as it may be hot
and burns may occur.
SPECIAL ATTENTION: This new appliance is designed with a protective
coating around the heating coils. When plugged in and operating for the
first time, there may be a little momentary smoking while this coating is
initially heated. This represents no danger to the user and does not
indicate a defect in the unit. When using for the first time, allow the
appliance to continue running until the smoke dissipates. This should
last only about 30 seconds.
HOW TO USE THIS THERMAL HOT AIR STYLER: This appliance functions
as a dryer and styler to dry and style hair at the same time. Hair should
be clean and free from dirt, hair spray and creams. Hair should not be
wet. Use only when it is damp.
This styling brush has two heat settings, HIGH and LOW. Use HIGH heat
for normal easy-to-curl and hard-to-curl hair. Use Low heat for hair that
has been color-treated or is fragile or damaged and for finishing the
style.
TO USE: Taking one section of hair at a time, roll hair in the direction of
the curl desired, and hold a few seconds. The safety tip is a great help
in winding, as one hand can be used on the handle and the fingers of the
other on the safety tip. When hair feels warm, curl is set; press the curl
release button to release tangle-free curls, and gently pull toward ends of
hair. Continue all over head until the style desired is achieved and brush
into place … also using the hot brush!
CAUTION: Barrel gets very hot while styler is in use. Do not let any part
of heated barrel come in contact with bare skin on hands, face, neck,
ears, or any other area.
STYLING TIP: Most hairstyles are based either on curls that go under or
curls that flip up. Both methods are easy to achieve with this styler.
FOR PAGEBOY OR CURL-UNDER STYLES: Take small section of hair and
place in brush barrel. Roll AWAY from head and UNDER.
FOR FLIP-UP STYLES: Take small section of hair and place in brush barrel.
Roll TOWARD head and UPWARD.
When completely finished and all curls have cooled thoroughly, gently
brush and comb hair into the style desired.
NOTE: To avoid tangling, do not wind hair around brush more than
two times.
This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require additional
lubrication for the life of the unit. It contains no user serviceable parts.
Refer service to qualified service personnel.
WHILE USING: Untwist cord from time to time to avoid tangling.
TO CLEAN: Unplug unit and allow to cool. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to
wipe the surfaces. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the
unit. Intake grille must be cleared of any build-up of lint or hair with a
small brush.
TO STORE: Unplug appliance, allow to cool, and store in its box or in a dry
place. Never store it while it is hot or still plugged in. Never wrap the cord
tightly around the appliance. Never hang unit by the cord. Do not put any
stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to
fray and break.
SERVICE NOTE: Before returning unit for service, please make sure the air
intake grille is free of lint and hair. If it is not, clean with a small brush and
try to operate the unit again.

COMO USAR CEPILLO TERMICO CON AIRE CALIENTE: Este aparato
funciona como un secador y estilizador para poder secar y peinar el
cabello al mismo tiempo. El pelo debe estar limpio y libre de polvo, laca y
cremas. El cabello no debe estar mojado. Uselo solamente cuando el
cabello esté húmedo.
Este cepillo estilizador tiene dos posiciones de temperaturas, alta/baja
(LOW/HIGH). Use temperatura alta (HIGH), para cabellos normales,
fáciles o difíciles de rizar. Use temperatura baja (LOW) para cabellos que
han sido teñidos, frágiles o dañados y para el acabado del peinado.
PARA USARSE: Tomando una sección a la vez, enrolle el pelo en la
dirección que desea el rizo y sosténgalo por varios segundos. La punta
protectora es una gran ayuda para enrollar el cabello, ya que con una
mano se sujeta el mango y con los dedos de la otra mano la punta
protectora. Cuando sienta el pelo tibio es que ya está el rizo, presione el
botón para soltar el rizo y suavemente hálelo hasta las puntas del cabello.
Continúe en toda la cabeza hasta que haya obtenido el estilo que
deseado y puede cepillarlo … usando este mismo cepillo!
PRECAUCION: La barra calienta mucho mientras se está usando. No deje
que ninguna parte de la barra caliente entre en contacto con la piel de
las manos, cara, cuello, orejas, ni ninguna otra área.
FIJANDO LAS PUNTAS DEL CABELLO: La mayoría de peinados están
basados ya sea con rizos con las puntas hacia adentro o hacia fuera.

dos veces.
COMO USAR
Este aparato se mantiene lubricado permanentemente y no necesita
lubricación adicional durante la vida de la unidad. Esta unidad contiene
piezas de repuesto que puedan ser utilizadas por el usuario para su
reparación; en tal caso, póngase en contacto con personal de servicio
capacitado.

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
As a safety feature, this plug fits in a polarized outlet only one way. If
the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug and try again. If it
still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
