ATTENTION: The polarity of the adapter has been preset at the factory to center-positive. This is the
most common polarity used with DVD players and other devices intended for automotive use. Do NOT
change the polarity of the adapter unless you are sure your device requires center-negative polarity.
• Check the owner’s manual of your device for the correct polarity setting or refer to the polarity symbol printed on your
device next to the adapter jack. Refer to the “Polarity Markings” section below to determine if the symbol indicates
Center-Positive or Center-Negative polarity.
• Move the polarity switch on the side of the adapter to the position which matches the polarity symbol shown on your
device or in the instruction manual for your device.
3. Set the voltage selection switch on the front of the Universal AC Adapter to the voltage indicated in the instruction
manual for your device. If you do not know the proper voltage, refer to the battery chart below and set the switch
accordingly.
4. Plug the AC adapter cord into your device and then plug the AC adapter into a standard 120 volt outlet. If your device
does not operate, unplug the AC adapter immediately and verify that the voltage selection switch and polarity switch
have been set properly per these instructions.

and use to prevent electrical shock. This power unit is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mounted
position.

1. L ocate the plug that fits your device and attach it to the end of the cord. Align the large pin with the large hole and the
small pin with the small hole before attaching. The plug will only fit one way on the end of the cord.
2. WARNING: Failure to match this adapter’s polarity with the end device polarity can permanently
damage the end device.

• Vérifiez le manuel de l’utilisateur de votre appareil pour connaître le réglage de polarité approprié ou regardez
le symbole de polarité imprimé sur votre appareil, à côté de la prise femelle de l’adaptateur. Consultez la section
« Marque de polarité » ci-dessous pour déterminer si le symbole indique centre positif ou centre négatif.
• Déplacez le commutateur de polarité, sur le côté de l’adaptateur, à la position qui correspond au symbole de polarité
indiqué sur votre appareil ou dans le manuel d’utilisation de votre appareil.
3. Positionner le sélecteur de tension à l’avant de l’adaptateur C.A. universel sur la position correspondant à la tension
indiquée dans le manuel d’instruction de l’appareil à alimenter. Si la tension correcte n’est pas connue, consulter le
tableau du nombre de piles ci-dessous et configurer le sélecteur en conséquence.
4. Brancher le cordon de l’adaptateur C.A. dans l’appareil à alimenter, puis brancher l’adaptateur dans une prise
standard de 120 volts. Si l’appareil ne fonctionne pas, débrancher immédiatement l’adaptateur C.A. et vérifier que
la position du sélecteur de tension et que la polarité de l’embout de la fiche ont été choisies conformément aux
présentes instructions.
MARQUES DE POLARITÉ
Regardez le symbole de polarité sur votre produit, là où vous le branchez. Ce sera un signe plus ou moins avec un
cercle entre eux. Le cercle sera ouvert d’un côté, ressemblant à la lettre « C ». Si le C est ouvert
vers le signe positif (+), la polarité doit être établie à centre positif (+). Si le C est ouvert vers le
signe négatif (-), la polarité doit être établie à centre négatif (-). Il vous faudra peut-être lire ces
instructions à l’envers pour que le symbole corresponde à celui de votre produit.
Si votre appareil ne comporte pas de symbole de polarité, appelez le fabricant du produit et
demandez-lui quelle est la polarité. Une mauvaise configuration de la polarité sur l’adaptateur
pourrait endommager votre appareil.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USB POWER PORT (on selected
modelsonly)
To use the USB power port, slide the selector switch to the
USB position and attach an appropriate USB charging cable
(cable not included) for your device. Power is not available
from the adapter’s output cord and plug tips while the selector
switch is in the USB position.

3. F ije el interruptor de selección de voltaje en la parte delantera del adaptador universal de CA al voltaje indicado en el
