IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electric shock do not immerse or partially immerse cord, plugs, or appliance
in water or other liquid.

13. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
14. Check that the electrical installation is compatible with the wattage and voltage stated on the
bottom of the appliance.
15. If this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other), it is to reduce the
risk of electric shock. This plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified
electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
16. To disconnect the appliance, turn any control to minimum position, then remove plug from
the wall outlet.
17. The appliance is only to be operated in the closed position.

Safety instructions

Short Cord instructions
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use.
If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used :
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance;
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding 3-wire cord;
and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table top
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Remove all packaging materials, stickers and accessories
from the inside and the outside of the appliance (1).
Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface
(glass table, tablecloth, varnished furniture, etc.)
or on a soft surface such as a dish towel.
Always use the appliance on a flat, stable,
heat-resistant work surface.
To prevent the appliance from overheating,
do not place it in a corner or against a wall.
Open the appliance by lifting the closure latch (2).
Before using for the first time, thoroughly clean the plates
with warm water and dish soap.
Wipe over the plate using a paper towel dipped
in a little cooking oil (3).
Remove any surplus oil using a clean kitchen paper towel.

Close the appliance (4). Fully unwind the power cord.
Make sure that the electric power supply is compatible
with the power rating and voltage indicated on the bottom
of the appliance.
If an extension cord is used, take all necessary precautions
to prevent anyone from tripping over it ;
make sure to choose one of equivalent diameter.
If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified
person in order to avoid a hazard.
The power supply cord should be regularly examined for signs
of damage, and if the cord is damaged, the appliance
must not be used.
Plug the cord into the wall socket (5) .
The red indicator light will turn on (6).
On first use, there may be a slight odor and a little smoke
during the first few minutes.
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means
of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
It will take around 5-10 minutes for the appliance to pre-heat (7).
As soon as the appliance is pre-heated, the green indicator light
will turn on (8).
After pre-heating, the appliance is ready for use.

Do not move the appliance when in use.
To preserve the non-stick properties of the coating, do not cook food in aluminium foil.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
Do not place cooking ustensils on the cooking surface of the appliance.
Never cut directly on the plates.
Never run the appliance empty.
The green light will flash on and off regularly during the cooking process, to show that the
temperature is maintained.
Arepa dough recipe
1. Pour 2 1/2 cups of warm water into a bowl and add a teaspoon of salt or to taste.
2. Slowly add 2 cups of precooked maize flour. Knead by hand.
3. Cheese, seasonings or indeed a few drops of oil can be added.
Shape the dough into round balls using the palm
of your hands (9).
Place a dough ball in each mould and close the lid (10).
Make sure that the unit closes properly.
Four arepas can be prepared at a time.

Lock the latch (11).
Allow to cook for 5 to 10 minutes (12).
After completion of the baking process, open the appliance (13)
and remove the baked items (14).
Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging
the cooking plate.

Unplug the appliance (15).
Let it cool down before moving and cleaning it (16).
Clean the plates and the body of the appliance
with a sponge, hot water and dish soap (17).
Never immerse the appliance or power supply cord in water.
They are not dishwasher safe (18).
Never use metal scourers or scouring powder
to avoid damaging the cooking surface.

PRECAUCIONES IMPORTANTES
Durante la utilización de aparatos eléctricos, se deben respetar un cierto número de reglas ele-
mentales, especialmente las siguientes:
1. Lea por completo el modo de empleo y siga atentamente las instrucciones de uso.
2. No toque nunca las superficies calientes. Utilice las asas o los botones.
3. Con el fin de evitar los choques eléctricos, no introduzca en el agua o en cualquier otro
líquido el cable eléctrico, la toma de corriente o el aparato.
4. No previsto para ser usado por niños. Hay que prestar mucha atención cuando el aparato es
utilizado por niños o está cerca de ellos.
5. Desenchufe el aparato cuando no lo utilice y antes de limpiarlo. Esperar a que se enfrié antes
de limpiarlo y guardarlo.
6. No utilice el aparato si tiene un cable o clavija dañado; después de un mal funcionamiento o
si ha sido dañado de alguna manera, regrese el aparato al centro de servicio más cercano,
para su examinación, reparación o ajuste.
7. El uso de accesorios que no son recomendados por el fabricante puede ser peligroso.
8. No utilice el aparato en el exterior.
9. No permita que el cable cuelgue sobre las esquinas de una mesa o que entre en contacto con
superficies calientes.
10. No coloque nunca el aparato sobre/cerca de una estufa, de una hornilla eléctrica o dentro de
un horno caliente.
11. No use el aparato para otros usos que no fue destinado.
12. Debe extremar las precauciones cuando mueva un aparato que contenga aceite caliente o
cualquier otro líquido caliente.
13. La temperatura de las superficies accesibles puede aumentar cuando el aparato esté en fun-
cionamiento.
14. Compruebe que la instalación eléctrica es compatible con la potencia y la tensión indicadas
debajo del aparato.
15. Si su aparato está equipado con una toma polarizada (una pata es más ancha que la otra),
esto tiene por objetivo reducir los riesgos de choques eléctricos y, esta toma sólo puede conec-
tarse en un sentido. Si la toma no entra correctamente en el enchufe, voltéela.Si aún no entra,
contacte un electricista. No trate de modificar la toma de ninguna forma.
16. Por desconectar el aparato, cualquier control sobre la posición mini, luego desconecte el
enchufe de la toma.
18. El aparato se debe utilizar sólo en la posición cerrada.

Consejos de seguridad

• Si se produce un accidente, deje correr agua fría inmediatamente sobre la quemadura y acuda
a un médico si fuera necesario.

Modo de empleo para los cables de alimentación cortos
El producto se suministra con un cable de alimentación corto (o con un cable de alimentación
amovible) para evitar que se enrede y que se pueda tropezar con él.
Se puede utilizar una extensión o un cable de alimentación más largo pero se deben tomar pre-
cauciones de seguridad.
Si utiliza una extensión o un cable de alimentación más largo procure:
1) Que las características especificadas en el cable sean como mínimo iguales a las que se indican
en el aparato.
2) Si el aparato tiene toma de tierra, el cable de prolongación deberá ser de 3 hilos (2 hilos + tierra).
3) Que el cable de alimentación se encuentre situado por detrás de la superficie de trabajo, fuera
del alcance de los niños y de modo que no se pueda tropezar con él.

Retire todos los embalajes, pegatinas o accesorios
tanto de dentro como de fuera del aparato (1).
No coloque nunca el aparato directamente sobre
un soporte frágil (mesa de cristal, mantel, mueblo barnizado...)
o sobre un soporte blando, tipo mantel de plástico.

Para evitar el sobrecalentamiento del aparato,
no lo coloque en una esquina o contra la pared.
Abrir el aparato levantándola el molde extraíble (2).
Antes de utilizar el aparato por primera vez, limpie las placas
con agua caliente y detergente para vajillas.
Limpie la placa con papel de cocina humedecido en aceite
de cocina (3).
Retire el exceso de aceite con papel de cocina limpio.

Cierre el aparato (4). Desenrosque completamente el cable.
Compruebe que la instalación eléctrica es compatible
con la potencia y la tensión indicadas debajo del aparato.
Si se utiliza un prolongador eléctrico, tome todas las precauciones
para asegurarse que las personas no tropiezan con el
cable : el mismo debe ser de sección al menos equivalente.
Si el cable de alimentación está dañado, éste tiene que ser
sustituido por el fabricante, o en un Servicio Técnico autorizado,
o una persona cualificada, para evitar cualquier peligro.
El cable de alimentación debe ser verificado regularmente
para detectar cualquier signo de deterioro, y si el cable
está dañado, el aparato no debe ser utilizado.
Conecte el cable al sector (5).
El indicador luminoso rojo se enciende (6).
En la primera utilización, podrá producirse un ligero
desprendimiento de olor y de humo durante los primeros
minutos.
Este aparato no está destinado para ser puesto en marcha
mediante un reloj exterior o un sistema de mando a distancia
separado.
Precaliente el aparato durante aproximadamente
5-10 minutos (7).
Cuando el precalentado termina, el indicador luminoso verde
se enciende (8).
Después del precalentamiento, el aparato estará listo
para ser utilizado.

No desplace el aparato durante su utilización.
Para conservar las cualidades antiadherentes del revestimiento, no cocine alimentos envueltos
en papel de aluminio.
No utilice nunca el aparato sin vigilancia.
No colocar utensilios de cocción sobre las superficies de cocción del aparato.
No corte directamente los alimentos sobre las placas.
No utilice nunca el aparato en vacío.
El piloto verde se apagará y se encenderá regularmente durante el uso para indicar
que la temperatura se mantiene.
Receta de masa por arepa

Encajar la molde extraíble (11).
Ponga a cocer durante 5 a 10 minutos (12).

y retirarla los productos horneados (14).
Para preservar el revestimiento de la placa de cocción,
utilizar siempre una espátula de plástico o madera.

Desconecte el aparato (15).
Dejarlo enfriar antes de desplazarlo y lavarlo el aparato(16).
Limpiar las placas y el cuerpo del aparato con una esponja,
agua caliente y detergente líquido para vajillas (17).
Bajo ninguna circunstancia introduzca el aparato ni el cable
en agua. No pueden lavarse en el lavavajillas (18).
No utilizar nunca una esponja metálica o polvos abrasivos
para no estropear la superficie de cocción.
