Please read all Safety precautions before using your headset to ensure safe
and proper use.
Safety precautions
When using your headset while driving, follow local regulations in the region you are in.•
Never disassemble or modify your headset for any reason. Doing this may cause the •
headset to malfunction or become combustible. Bring the headset to an authorized service
center to repair it.
Keep your device and all accessories out of the reach of small children or animals. Small •
parts may cause choking or serious injury if swallowed.
Avoid exposing your device to very cold or very hot temperatures (below 0° C or above 45° C). •
Extreme temperatures can cause the deformation of the device and reduce the charging
capacity and life of your device.
Do not allow your device to get wet — liquids can cause serious damage. Do not handle •
your device with wet hands. Water damage to your device can void your manufacturer’s
warranty.
Avoid using your device’s light close to the eyes of children or animals. •
Do not use the device during a thunderstorm. Thunderstorms can cause the device •
to malfunction and increase the risk of electric shock.
Excessive exposure to sound at high volumes can cause hearing damage. Always
turn the volume down before plugging the earphones into an audio source and use
only the minimum volume setting necessary to hear your conversation or music.

This section explains what to remember for the proper use of your Bluetooth
headset.
Your headset overview
Make sure you have the following items with your headset: travel adapter, •
ear pieces, earhook and user manual.
The items supplied with your headset may vary depending on your region.•

Slide the switch to turn the headset on or off.
Talk
Press and hold to enter • Pairing mode.
Press to make or answer a call.•

Press to adjust the volume.•
Press and hold to turn the microphone on or off.•

to turn the Multi-point feature on.

You can hear a beep when the volume level of the headset reaches to the lowest
or highest level.

Charging the headset
This headset has a rechargeable internal battery which is non-removable. Ensure
that you fully charge the battery before using the headset for the rst time.
1 Connect the charger to the headset (see below images).
2 Plug the charger in to the wall outlet.
During charging, the indicator light will turn red. If charging does not begin,
unplug the travel adapter and plug it in again.
3 When the headset is fully charged, the indicator light changes to blue. Unplug
the travel adapter from the power outlet and the headset.

Use only Samsung-approved chargers. Unauthorized chargers may cause •
an explosion or damage to the headset.
The battery will gradually wear out while charging or discharging because •
it is a consumable part.
When a call come in while charging, disconnect your headset from the travel •
adapter and answer the call.
When the battery charge gets low
The headset beeps and the indicator light ashes red. Recharge the battery. If the
headset powers off during a call, the call will be automatically transferred to the
phone.
Checking the battery level
At the same time, press and hold the Volume down and the Talk button. Depending
on the battery level, the indicator light ashes 5 times in one of the following colors:

Wearing the headset
Place the headset on your ear. Depending on what ear you are going to wear
the headset, simply adjust the ear hook accordingly.
Handle the headset properly to improve performance
Do not block the device’s internal antenna. The human body can interfere •
with a Bluetooth signal.
If you usually use your mobile phone with your right hand, wear the headset •
on your right ear.
Avoid coming in contact with the internal antenna of a headset or mobile •
for a better performance.

Using your headset
This section explains how to turn the headset on, pair and connect to the phone,
and use various functions.
Activated functions and features may differ depending on the phone type.•
Some devices, especially those that are not tested or approved by Bluetooth SIG, •
may be incompatible with your headset.
Turning the headset on or off
To turn the headset on, slide up the power switch. The blue indicator light •
ashes 4 times.
To turn the headset off, slide down the power switch. The indicator light ashes •
red then turns off.

Pairing and connecting the headset
Pairing will create a unique and encrypted wireless link between two Bluetooth
enabled devices, such as a Bluetooth phone and a Bluetooth headset.
To use the headset with other Bluetooth devices, the devices must be paired.
When trying to pair the two devices, keep the headset and the phone reasonably
close together. After pairing, you can connect the two devices.
Pairing and connecting the headset with a phone
1 Enter Pairing mode.
With the headset turned on, press and hold the Talk button until the blue •
indicator light stays lit.
If you turn on the headset for the rst time, it proceeds into Pairing mode •
immediately.
2 Activate the Bluetooth feature on your phone and search for the headset
(see your phone’s user manual).
3 Select the headset (HM1100) from the list of devices found by your phone.
4 Enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to pair and connect the headset to your
phone.

Your headset supports the Simple Pairing feature which allows the headset to be
paired with a phone without requesting a PIN. This feature is available for phones
that are compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 or higher.
The headset also can be paired via the Active pairing feature, see page 13.
Connecting with two Bluetooth phones
With the Multi-point feature activated, your headset can be connected with two
Bluetooth phones at the same time.
1 After connecting with the rst Bluetooth phone, press and hold the Talk button
until the blue indicator light stays lit.
2 Press and hold the Volume up button to activate the Multi-point feature.
3 Activate the Bluetooth feature on the second Bluetooth phone and search for
the headset (see your phone’s user manual).
4 Select the headset (HM1100) from the list of devices found by the second
Bluetooth phone.
5 Enter the Bluetooth PIN (0000, 4 zeros) to connect the headset to the phone.
6 Turn the headset off and on. When the headset turns on, it automatically
connects with the two Bluetooth phones.

When the headset connects to two Bluetooth phones, some phones may not connect
to the headset as the second Bluetooth phone.
Disconnecting the headset
To disconnect the headset from your phone,
Turn off the headset.•
Use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.•
Reconnecting the headset
When the headset is paired with phones, it will attempt to automatically reconnect
each time you turn it on.
If the headset does not automatically attempt to reconnect,
Press the Talk button.•
Use the Bluetooth menu on your phone.•
If the Multi-point feature is deactivated, your headset will reconnect only to a primary
phone. To turn Multi-point feature on or off, see page 5.

Pairing via the Active pairing feature
With the Active pairing feature, your headset can automatically search for
a Bluetooth phone and try to make a connection with it.
This feature is available for mobile phones, but the phone’s Bluetooth visibility option
must be set to on.
1 Turn on the headset.
2 Press and hold the Talk button to enter Pairing mode.
3 Press and hold the Talk button until the violet indicator light turns on.
The headset will switch to Active Pairing mode, search a Bluetooth phone
within range, and attempt to pair with it.
Ensure the phone you wish to connect to is within range of the headset. Place the •
headset and phone close to each other to avoid pairing with other devices.
The Bluetooth phone you want to connect with must not be paired with other •
devices. If the phone is already connected to another device, end the connection
and restart the Active pairing feature.
This feature may be unavailable depending on the some PDAs.•

Using call functions
Available call functions may vary by the phone.
Making a call
Redialing the latest number
Press and hold the Talk button to redial the latest number of the most recently
connected phone.
Press the Talk button twice to redial the last number of the other phone,
see page 11.
For some phones, pressing the Talk button opens the call log list. Press the Talk
button again to dial the selected number.
Dialing a number by voice
Press the Talk button and say a name. You can dial a number of the rst phone.

Answering a call
Press the Talk button to answer a call when you hear incoming call tones.
When two calls from the two connected phones come in, you can answer the call
of the rst phone.
Ending a call
Press the Talk button to end a call.
Rejecting a call
Press and hold the Talk button to reject a call when a call comes in.
When two calls from the two connected phones come in, you can reject the call
of the rst phone.
This function is available only on the Hands-Free prole. For more information,
see your phone’s user manual.

Using options during a call
You can use the following functions during the call.
Adjusting the volume
Press the Volume up or down button to adjust the volume.
Muting the microphone
Press and hold the Volume up or down button to turn the microphone off so that
the person with whom you are speaking cannot hear you. When the microphone
is turned off, the headset beeps at regular intervals. Press and hold the Volume up
or down button again to turn the microphone back on.
Transferring a call from the phone to the headset
Press the Talk button to transfer a call from the phone to the headset.
Placing a call on hold
Press and hold the Talk button to place the current call on hold.
This function is available only on the Hands-Free prole. For more information,
see your phone’s user manual.

Answering a second call
Press the Talk button to end the rst call and answer a second call of the same •
phone when you hear call waiting tones.
Press and hold the Talk button to place the rst call on hold and answer •
a second call of the same phone when you hear call waiting tones.
To switch between the current call and the held call, press and hold the Talk •
button.
This function is available only on the Hands-Free prole. For more information,
see your phone’s user manual.
Answering a new call of the second phone
Press the Talk button to end the rst call and answer a second call of the other •
phone when you hear call waiting tones.
Press and hold the Talk button to place the rst call on hold and answer •
a second call of the other phone when you hear call waiting tones.
To switch between the current call and the held call, press and hold the Talk •
button.
This function is available only on the Hands-Free prole. For more information,

Frequently asked questions
Will my headset work
with laptops, PCs, and
PDAs?
Your headset will work with devices that support
your headset's Bluetooth version and proles.
For specications, see page 29.
Why do I hear static or
interference while on
a call?
Appliances such as cordless phones and wireless
networking equipment may cause interference, which
usually sounds like static. To reduce any interference,
keep the headset away from other devices that use
or produce radio waves.
Will my headset
interfere with my car's
electronics, radio, or
computer?
Your headset produces signicantly less power than
a typical mobile phone. It also only emits signals that
are in compliance with the international Bluetooth
standard. Therefore, you should not expect any
interference with standard consumer-grade electronics
equipment.

Can other Bluetooth
phone users hear my
conversation?
When you pair your headset to your Bluetooth phone,
you are creating a private link between only these two
Bluetooth devices. The wireless Bluetooth technology
used in your headset is not easily monitored by
third parties because Bluetooth wireless signals are
signicantly lower in radio frequency power than those
produced by a typical mobile phone.
Why do I hear an echo
while on a call?
Adjust the headset volume, or move to another area
and try again.
How do I clean my
headset?
Wipe it with a soft dry cloth.
The headset does not
fully charge.
The headset and the travel adapter may not have
been connected properly.
Separate the headset from the travel adapter,
reconnect, and charge the headset.
I cannot use all the
features described in
the manual.
Available features may vary depending on the
connected device. If your headset is connected to two
devices at once, some features may be unavailable.

What is Covered and For How Long?
SAMSUNG TELECOMMUNICATIONS AMERICA, LLC (“SAMSUNG”)
warrants to the original purchaser (“Purchaser”) that SAMSUNG’s phones and
accessories (“Products”) are free from defects in material and workmanship under
normal use and service for the period commencing upon the date of purchase and
continuing for the following specied period of time after that date:

What is Not Covered?
This Limited Warranty is conditioned upon proper use of Product by Purchaser.
This Limited Warranty does not cover: (a) defects or damage resulting from

to moisture or dampness, neglect, unusual physical, electrical or electromechanical
stress, or defects in appearance, cosmetic, decorative or structural items, including
framing, and any nonoperative parts unless caused by SAMSUNG; (b) defects or
damage resulting from excessive force or use of a metallic object when pressing on

What is Not Covered?

damaged due to normal use; (e) malfunctions resulting from the use of Product
in conjunction or connection with accessories, products, or ancillary/peripheral
equipment not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG; (f) defects or damage from
improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, service, or adjustment
not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG; (g) defects or damage from external
causes such as collision with an object, or from re, ooding, sand, dirt, windstorm,
lightning, earthquake, or from exposure to weather conditions, or battery leakage,
theft, blown fuse, or improper use of any electrical source; (h) defects or damage
caused by cellular signal reception or transmission, or viruses or other software
problems introduced into the Product; (i) any other acts which are not the
fault of SAMSUNG; or (j) Product used or purchased outside the United States.
This Limited Warranty covers batteries only if battery capacity falls below 80% of
rated capacity or the battery leaks, and this Limited Warranty does not cover any
battery if (i) the battery has been charged by a battery charger not specied or
approved by SAMSUNG for charging the battery, (ii) any of the seals on the battery
are broken or show evidence of tampering, or (iii) the battery has been used in
equipment other than the SAMSUNG phone for which it is specied.

What are SAMSUNG’s Obligations?
During the applicable warranty period, SAMSUNG will repair or replace, at
SAMSUNG’s sole option, without charge to Purchaser, any defective component
part of Product. To obtain service under this Limited Warranty, Purchaser must
return Product to an authorized phone service facility in an adequate container for
shipping, accompanied by Purchaser’s sales receipt or comparable substitute proof
of sale showing the original date of purchase, the serial number of Product and the
sellers’ name and address. To obtain assistance on where to deliver the Product,
call Samsung Customer Care at 1-888-987-4357. Upon receipt, SAMSUNG will
promptly repair or replace the defective Product. SAMSUNG may, at SAMSUNG’s
sole option, use rebuilt, reconditioned, or new parts or components when repairing
any Product or replace Product with a rebuilt, reconditioned or new Product.
Repaired/replaced cases, pouches and holsters will be warranted for a period of
ninety (90) days. All other repaired/replaced Product will be warranted for a period
equal to the remainder of the original Limited Warranty on the original Product
or for 90 days, whichever is longer. All replaced parts, components, boards and
equipment shall become the property of SAMSUNG. If SAMSUNG determines that
any Product is not covered by this Limited Warranty, Purchaser must pay all parts,
shipping, and labor charges for the repair or return of such Product.

Escuchará un sonido cuando el nivel de volumen del auricular alcance el máximo o
el mínimo.
Carga del auricular
El auricular tiene una batería interna recargable que no puede desmontarse. Asegúrese
de cargar totalmente la batería antes de usar el auricular por primera vez.
1 Conecte el cargador al auricular (como se indica en la imagen a continuación).
2 Conecte el cargador al tomacorriente.
Durante la carga, la luz indicadora se volverá roja. Si no se inicia la carga,
desconecte el adaptador de viaje y vuelva a conectarlo.

3 Cuando el dispositivo esté totalmente cargado, la luz indicadora se volverá
azul. Desconecte el cargador de viaje del tomacorriente y del auricular.
Use sólo cargadores aprobados por Samsung. Los cargadores no autorizados •
pueden producir explosiones o daños en el producto.
La batería se deteriora gradualmente a causa de la carga y la descarga, ya que se •
trata de un componente que se desgasta con el uso.
Si recibe una llamada mientras se realiza la carga, desconecte el auricular del •
adaptador de viaje y responda la llamada.
Cuando la carga de la batería está baja
El auricular emite un sonido y parpadea la luz indicadora roja. Recargue la batería.
Si el auricular se descarga durante una llamada, ésta se transferirá automáticamente
al teléfono.
Control del nivel de la batería
Mantenga presionados simultáneamente el botón de disminución de volumen
y el botón de funciones múltiples. Según el nivel de batería, la luz indicadora
parpadeará 5 veces en uno de los siguientes colores:

Colocación del auricular

Uso del auricular
Esta sección explica cómo encender el auricular, cómo vincularlo con el teléfono
y cómo utilizar varias funciones.
Las funciones y características disponibles pueden variar en función del tipo •
de teléfono.
Algunos dispositivos, en especial aquéllos no probados o autorizados por •
Bluetooth SIG, pueden ser incompatibles con el auricular.
Encendido y apagado del auricular
Para encender el auricular, deslice el interruptor de encendido y apagado hacia •
arriba. La luz indicadora azul parpadea 4 veces.
Para apagar el auricular, deslice el interruptor de encendido y apagado hacia •
abajo. Se enciende la luz indicadora en rojo y luego se apaga.

Conexión y vinculación del auricular
La conexión crea un vínculo inalámbrico codicado y único entre dos dispositivos
Bluetooth, como un teléfono Bluetooth y un auricular Bluetooth.
Para usar el auricular con otros dispositivos Bluetooth, se deben vincular ambos
dispositivos. Cuando conecte los dos dispositivos, conserve el auricular y el teléfono
a una distancia razonable. Después de completar la vinculación, puede encender
ambos dispositivos.
Conexión del auricular con un teléfono
1 Ingrese al modo de vinculación.
Con el auricular encendido, mantenga presionado el botón de funciones •
múltiples hasta que la luz indicadora azul quede encendida.
Si es la primera vez que enciende el auricular, éste se inicia en el modo •
de vinculación.
2 Active la función de Bluetooth en el teléfono y busque el auricular. Consulte
el manual de usuario del teléfono.
3 Seleccione el auricular (HM1100) de la lista de dispositivos encontrados por
el teléfono.
4 Ingrese el PIN de Bluetooth (0000, 4 ceros) para conectar el auricular al teléfono.

El auricular admite la función de vinculación simple, que permite que el auricular
se vincule con un teléfono sin necesidad de un PIN. Esta función está disponible
cuando el teléfono es compatible con la versión 2.1 de Bluetooth, o superior.
También se puede vincular el auricular mediante la función de vinculación activa.

Conexión con dos teléfonos Bluetooth
Con la función Multipunto activada, es posible conectar el auricular con dos
teléfonos Bluetooth al mismo tiempo.
1 Después de realizar la conexión con el primer teléfono Bluetooth, mantenga
presionado el botón de funciones múltiples hasta que la luz indicadora azul
permanezca encendida.
2 Mantenga presionado el botón de aumento del volumen para activar la función
Multipunto.
3 Active la función Bluetooth en el segundo teléfono y busque el auricular.

4 Seleccione el auricular (HM1100) de la lista de dispositivos encontrados por el

Reconexión del auricular
Cuando el auricular está conectado con dos teléfonos, intenta volver a conectarse

Si el auricular no intenta volver a conectarse automáticamente:
Presione el botón de funciones múltiples.•
Utilice el menú de Bluetooth de su teléfono.•
Si está desactivada la función Multipunto, el auricular se vuelve a conectar sólo

Vinculación con la función de vinculación activa
Con la función de vinculación activa, el auricular puede buscar automáticamente
un teléfono Bluetooth e intentar conectarse con él.
Esta función está disponible para teléfonos móviles, pero la opción de visibilidad de
Bluetooth del teléfono debe estar activada.
1 Encienda el auricular.
2 Mantenga presionado el botón de funciones múltiples para entrar en el modo
de vinculación.
3 Mantenga presionado el botón de funciones múltiples hasta que la luz indicadora
violeta se encienda.
El auricular pasa al modo de vinculación activa, busca un teléfono Bluetooth
dentro del alcance e intenta vincularse con él.
Asegúrese de que el teléfono al que desea conectar el auricular esté dentro del •
alcance del auricular. Coloque el auricular y el teléfono cerca para evitar la vinculación
con otros dispositivos.

En algunos modelos de teléfono, si presiona el botón de funciones múltiples, se abre
el listado de registro de llamadas. Presione el botón de funciones múltiples para
marcar el número seleccionado.
Marcar un número por voz
Presione el botón de funciones múltiples y diga un nombre. Puede marcar un número
del primer teléfono.

portátiles, PC y PDA?
El auricular funciona con dispositivos que son
compatibles con la misma versión y los mismos
perles Bluetooth. Para conocer las especicaciones,

¿Por qué escucho estática
o interferencia durante una
llamada?
Los dispositivos como teléfonos inalámbricos
y equipos de red inalámbrica pueden producir
interferencia, que por lo general se escucha
como estática. Para reducir cualquier interferencia,
mantenga el dispositivo alejado de otros
dispositivos que usen o produzcan ondas
de radio.
¿Produce interferencias

crea un vínculo privado sólo entre estos dos
dispositivos Bluetooth. La tecnología inalámbrica
Bluetooth del auricular no es fácilmente monitoreada
por otros, ya que las señales inalámbricas de
Bluetooth poseen una frecuencia de radio menor
que la producida por los teléfonos móviles clásicos.

a humedad; tensión física, eléctrica o electromecánica excepcional, defectos de las

¿Qué no goza de cobertura?
(d) todas las supercies plásticas y otras piezas expuestas externamente que se rayen
o dañen debido al uso normal; (e) el mal funcionamiento que resulte de usar el Producto
junto con accesorios, productos o equipos periféricos o auxiliares que SAMSUNG no
haya suministrado o aprobado; (f) defectos o daños debidos a pruebas, funcionamiento,
mantenimiento, instalación, servicio o ajuste inapropiados; (g) defectos o daños por
factores externos, como golpes, fuego, agua, arena, polvo, tormentas de viento,
relámpagos, terremotos, exposición a condiciones meteorológicas, goteo de baterías,
robo, quema de fusibles o uso inadecuado de cualquier fuente eléctrica; (h) defectos
o daños causados por la transmisión o recepción de señales inalámbricas, virus u
otros problemas de software que puedan afectar el Producto; (i) cualquier otro hecho
que no sea responsabilidad de SAMSUNG; o (j) Productos que se hayan comprado
fuera de los Estados Unidos. Esta garantía limitada cubre las baterías únicamente
si la capacidad de las mismas disminuyera a menos del 80% de la capacidad nominal
o si la batería goteara, y esta garantía limitada no cubre batería alguna si (i) la batería
se hubiera cargado con un cargador que SAMSUNG no haya especicado o aprobado;
(ii) cualquiera de los sellos de la batería estuvieran rotos o mostraran evidencia
de manipulación o (iii) la batería se hubiera usado en un equipo que no fuese el teléfono
SAMSUNG para el cual está especicada.

¿Cuáles son las obligaciones de SAMSUNG?
Durante el período aplicable de garantía, SAMSUNG reparará o reemplazará, a su
discreción única, sin cargo al comprador, cualquier pieza componente defectuosa del
Producto. Para obtener servicio en virtud de esta garantía limitada, el comprador debe
enviar el Producto a una instalación de servicio autorizada en un paquete adecuado
para su envío, acompañado por el recibo de compra del Comprador o una evidencia
de compra comparable donde aparezca la fecha de compra, el número de serie del
Producto y el nombre y la dirección del vendedor. Para obtener información sobre
a dónde puede enviar el Producto, llame al Centro de Atención al Cliente de Samsung
al 1-888-987-4357.
Al recibirlo, SAMSUNG reparará o reemplazará el Producto
defectuoso oportunamente. SAMSUNG puede, a su discreción única, usar piezas
o componentes reacondicionados, reconstruidos o nuevos para las reparaciones
de cualquier Producto o bien, reemplazarlo con un producto reacondicionado,
reconstruido o nuevo. Los estuches, las bolsas y los portateléfonos de cuero que
se hayan reparado o reemplazado estarán garantizados por un periodo de noventa
(90) días. Los otros Productos reparados o reemplazados tendrán una garantía
por un período equivalente al resto de la Garantía Limitada original del producto
original o por 90 días, lo que sea más. Todas las piezas, los componentes,
las tarjetas y el equipo de reposición pasarán a ser propiedad de SAMSUNG.
Si SAMSUNG determina que un producto no está cubierto por esta Garantía
Limitada, el comprador deberá pagar todos los cargos por concepto de piezas,
envío y mano de obra por la reparación o devolución de dicho Producto.
