IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
• Read all instructions before using.
• Use iron only for its intended use.
• To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquid.
• The iron should always be turned off [0] (refer to HOW TO USE section) before plugging
into or unplugging from an outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead
grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
• Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away.
Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
• Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with or emptying of water and
when not in use.
• Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To
avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron, take it to a qualified
serviceman for examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric
shock when the iron is used.
• Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not
leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.
• Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when
you turn a steam iron upside down or use the surge of steam—there may be hot water in
the water tank. Avoid rapid movement of iron to minimize hot water spillage.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
– When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface on which the stand is placed
is stable.
– The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or
if it is leaking.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
• To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same
circuit.
• If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a cord with an ampere rating equal to or
greater than the max rating of the iron shall be used. A cord rated for less amperage can
result in a risk of fire or electric shock due to overheating. Care should be taken to arrange
the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
This product is for household use only.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric
shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into
the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to
modify the plug in any way.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
Warning: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of the
outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer
cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized
service personnel.
ELECTRICAL CORD
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk
resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use.
c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension cord should be
at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire
cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel; in Latin
America, by an authorized service center.
How to Use
This product is for household use only.
GETTING STARTED
Remove the plastic band around the power plug and all labels, tags and stickers attached to the body,
cord, or soleplate of the iron.
Note: Use ordinary tap water for ironing. Do not use water processed through a home softening
system.
Important: For optimum performance, let the iron stand for 90 seconds before beginning to
iron.
Tip: If unsure of a garment's fiber, test a small area (on an inside seam or hem) before ironing.
FILLING WATER TANK
1. With the iron unplugged and the steam button locked in the DOWN position, use a clean measuring
cup and pour water into the water-fill opening. Refill as needed.
2. Plug in the iron and let it stand on its heel rest. The power indicator light will turn on.
SELECTING TEMPERATURE
1. Use the fabric guide on the iron to select the proper temperature setting for the fabric.
Tip: If unsure of a garment's fiber, test a small area (on an inside seam or hem) before ironing. If there
is a brown buildup on the soleplate, lower the setting and/or reduce starch.
2. Once you determine the fabric type, set the temperature selector to the appropriate setting for your
fabric. Once the iron reaches the selected temperature, the power indicator light will turn off. The
light will cycle on an off during ironing.
3. When finished ironing, place iron on its heel rest, turn temperature selector to OFF and unplug the
iron.
3-WAY AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF
The automatic shutoff feature in your iron works as follows:
• Once the iron reaches appropriate temperature, it will turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity if left
on its soleplate or tipped over on its side. If left vertically on its heel rest, it will shut off after 8
minutes.
• As soon as you pick up the iron, it will start heating again. Wait for iron to reheat completely before
resuming operation.
STEAM IRONING
1. Be sure there is water in the water tank.
2. Turn the temperature selector between settings 5 and 7.
3. Unlock the steam button to the UP position. If steam does not start, gently bump the soleplate on
the ironing board a few times. If water drips from vents, turn the selector to a higher setting.
DRY IRONING
1. Turn the temperature selector to the desired setting and lock the steam button in the DOWN
position. For extended periods of dry ironing, empty the water from the iron.
2. If you want to empty the water, hold the iron over a sink with the tip pointing down. Water will
empty out the fill hole. Stay clear of splashing hot water.

ANTI DRIP SYSTEM
The anti drip system prevents water spotting at low temperatures.
EMPTYING WATER TANK (OPTIONAL)
1. Unplug the iron and let it cool.
2. To release the water, hold the iron over a sink with the tip pointing down and to one side. Water will
empty out of the water-fill opening.
Care and Cleaning
This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
CLEANING
1. Move the temperature selector to OFF, unplug the iron and allow the iron to cool completely.
2. Wipe the soleplate and outer surfaces with a soft cloth or sponge dampened in water. Never use
abrasives, heavy duty cleansers, or scouring pads that may scratch or discolor the iron.
STORAGE
1. Turn the temperature selector to OFF, unplug the iron and allow to cool completely.
2. Lock the steam button in the DOWN position. This helps keep the water valve clean and prevents
water from entering the steam chamber, which could cause spitting during next use.
3. Store iron on its heel rest. Storing the iron on its soleplate can cause leaks or damage.
4. Wrap the cord.
When using your iron for the first time,
you may notice water residue inside the unit. This is normal.
