Warning: • Always follow basic safety precautions when using this applience, especially when children are present. • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. • Do not damage the power cord, neither do not place any heavy objects on it, do not strech it or bend it. Place product on a flat, stable surface that is not subject to vibrations. Ensure the product and its parts is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture. To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or damage to this product, do not expose it to direct sunlight, dust, rain and moisture. Allow at least 30 cm clearance from the rear and the top of the unit and 5 cm from each side. Do not block any ventilation openings of this product. Always ensure that the ventilation openings are not covered with items such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. NEVER let anyone, especially children, push anything into holes, slots or any other openings in the unit’s casing as this could result in a fatal electric shock. Storms are dangerous for all electric appliances. If the mains or aerial wiring is struck by lightning, the appliance might get damaged, even if it is turned off. You should disconnect all the cables and connectors of the appliance before a storm. Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss. Maintenance • Unplug the power cable from the power source before cleaning the appliance. • Use a soft and clean rag to clean the outside of the unit. Never clean it with chemicals or detergent. Built-in Battery Care • Your product is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery. • The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but will eventually wear out. • Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the product when not in use. • Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, since overcharging may shorten its lifetime. • If left unused, a fully charged battery will lose its charge over time. • Leaving the product in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in the summer and winter conditions, will reduce the capacity and life time of the battery. • Always try to keep your device in a cool, moisture-free environment that's less than 32'C. • A product with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily, even when the battery is fully charged. Battery performance is particularly limited in temperatures well below freezing. • If you plan to store your device for longer than six months, charge the battery to 50% every six months to keep it fresh. Store the device at temperatures between 5 °C and 20 °C. Battery warning! • The battery used in this product may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. 4 • Do not attempt to open the product or replace the battery. It is built-in and not changeable. Use of other batteries may present a risk of fire or explosion and the warranty will be terminated. • Dispose of batteries according to local regulations. Please recycle when possible. Do not dispose as household waste or in a fire as they may explode. • Batteries may explode if damaged. • Charging the battery using supplied charger or under the charging condition specified in user manual. Charging the battery under any other conditions may cause the battery to overhead, emit hydrogen gas, leak, ignite or burst. CAUTION! 1. Important safety considerations • Do not expose batteries to high temperatures and do not place them on locations where the temperature might increase quickly, e.g. near the fire or on the direct sunshine. • Do not expose batteries to excessive radiant heat, do not throw them into the fire, do not disassemble them and do not try to recharge unrechargeable batteries. They could leak or explode. 2. To prevent deterioration or damage to the battery • Do not drop or subject to strong physical shock. 3. To ensure long battery life • Do not discharge completely. How to remove the battery for disposal RISK OF INJURY. WEAR GLOVES WHEN WORKING! The battery should be removed by an authorized Sharp service centre. Not doing so will invalidate any guarantees and warranties on your device. Step 1: Remove the 4 screws on the side (2 on left side, 2 on right side) of the top cover panel. Step 2: Gently open the top cover panel. You will see the blue battery pack held in place with a fixing bracket. Step 3: Remove the 2 screws on the battery fixing bracket. Slowly lift the bracket away from the battery (there are adhesive pads between the battery and bracket that will also need to be separated). Step 4: Carefully pull the battery wires away from the power board to break their connections. Step 5: With wire cutters, cut the wires from the battery that connect it to the heat sink (cut as near to the heat sink as possible). Disposal of this equipment and Batteries • Do not dispose of this product or its batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Return it to a designated collection point for the recycling of WEEE in accordance with local law. By doing so, you will help to conserve resources and protect the environment. • Most of the EU countries regulate the disposal of batteries by law. Contact your retailer or local authorities for more information. • The shown above appears on electrical and electronivcal equipment and batteries (or the packaging) to remind users of this. Switch the POWER SWITCH to ON. The speaker will turn to Standby mode automatically, and the POWER INDICATOR will be lit up in red color. TURNING THE UNIT ON/OFF Press the STANDBY button to turn ON or OFF the unit. SETTING THE PLAYBACK MODE To change the playback modes, rotate the AUDIO-1 KNOB to choose: BT, AUX, USB, OFF. SETTING THE INPUT MODE Rotate the AUDIO-2 KNOB to choose: MIC/GUITAR, AUX. ADJUST THE VOLUME 1. Rotate the A-VOLUME KNOB to increase or decrease the music volume. 2. Rotate the B-VOLUME KNOB to adjust the microphone, guitar volume. 3. When AUDIO-1 and AUDIO-2 are both set to AUX, the volume can be adjusted by A-VOLUME and B-VOLUME. EQUALIZER (EQ) ADJUSTMENT Use the EQ SLIDER A and B to adjust an effect that best matches the music style: ROCK, JAZZ, FLAT, SAMBA, POP. 1. EQ SLIDER A is to adjust the sound effect for Audio-1(BT/AUX/USB). 2. EQ SLIDER B is to adjust the sound effect for Audio-2(MIC/GUITAR). SUPER BASS ADJUSTMENT Press the SUPER BASS button to increase the bass effect. Once the SUPER BASS is activated, the flashing light will be turned on, and the decoration LED lighting around the speakers will flash in blue. NOTES: The EQ SLIDER A/B cannot work once the SUPER BASS is activated. 6 FLASHING LIGHT To activate the light functions, you must switch AUDIO-2 to AUX mode. 1. Long press the LIGHT button to turn on/off the decoration LED lighting around the speakers. 2. Press the LIGHT button repeatedly to choose the lighting mode for the inner lights: L-1: Blue LED will be on constantly. L-2: Red LED will be on constantly. L-3: Green LED will be on constantly. L-4: Three-colors flash in gradual mode. L-5: Seven-colors flash in gradual mode. L-6: Three-colors dance with the music. Press one more time to turn off. BLUETOOTH OPERATION 1. Rotate the AUDIO-1 knob to BT mode to enter Bluetooth mode, “ - bt ” will be lit up and flash on the display screen. 2. Turn on the Bluetooth function on your device, scan “SHARP PS-940” and connect. Input the password 0000 if required. 3. Once successfully connected, there will be a prompt sound and “ - bt - ” will stop flashing. 4. Adjust the EQ effect by sliding the EQ SLIDER-A. 5. Rotate the A-VOLUME knob or adjust the volume on the external device to increase or decrease the music volume to your desired level. 6. Control the playback with your audio device. 7. Press the BLUETOOTH CONNECTION button to disconnect the bluetooth connection. Wireless connection with multiple PS-940 (connect to the compatible speakers). 1. Select a PS-940 as the host speaker. Long press the BLUETOOTH CONNECTION button, “ bt - “ will be shown on the display screen. 2. Continuously press the BLUETOOTH CONNECTION button twice on another one or more PS-940. When “ - bt ” shown on the display, it means the speakers have been connected to the host speaker successfully. 3. Make your device connect to the host speaker. Then you can enjoy the music via your the speakers. NOTES: The product supports 3 phones (except for Iphone) to establish bluetooth connection at the same time. 4. Use the EQ SLIDER-B to adjust your favor sound effect. NOTES: The EQ SLIDER-B cannot work if the AUDIO-2 is set to AUX mode. USB OPERATION This unit provides two USB ports, one for playback, and another for charging. 1. Set AUDIO-1 to USB mode. “ - USb -” will be shown on the display. 2. Plug the USB memory stick to the USB PLAYBACK PORT on the unit. Playback will start automatically from track 01. 3. To pause the playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the top panel of the unit. Press this button again to resume the playback. 4. To select a desired track, press the PREVIOUS or NEXT button respectively during playing until the desired track appears on the display. The unit will start to play automatically. AUX-IN OPERATION 1. Set the AUDIO-1 to AUX mode, “AUX” will be shown on the display. 2. Connect your audio device to the AUX IN JACK on the top panel of the unit with an AUX IN cable. 3. Rotate the A-VOLUME knob to adjust the music volume. 4. Use the EQ SLIDER-A to adjust your favor sound effect. 5. Control the playback with your audio device. MIC/GUITAR OPERATION 1. Set the AUDIO-2 to MIC/GUITAR mode. 2. Connect your microphone/guitar to the MIC or GUITAR JACK. 3. Die Akkuleistung wird vor allem bei Temperaturen weit unter dem Gefrierpunkt beeinträchtigt. • Wenn Sie Ihr Gerät länger als sechs Monate lagern möchten, sollten Sie den Akku alle sechs Monate auf 50 % aufladen, um seine Funktionsfähigkeit zu gewährleisten. Lagern Sie das Gerät bei Temperaturen zwischen 5 °C und 20 °C.
