IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always
be taken to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury, including
the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
2. To reduce the risk of shock, always unplug the air purifier from the electrical
outlet immediately after using as well as before replacing or removing any
filters.
3.
The air purifier should always be placed on a flat, secure surface.
4. The cord should be kept away from any heated surfaces.
5. Never place or store the air purifier where it could fall or be pulled into a
sink or bathtub.
6. Do not reach for the air purifier if it has fallen into water. Unplug the
appliance immediately.
7. Do not place in or drop into water or liquid.
8. Do not place anything on top of unit.
9. Always keep the air purifier dry and do not operate in wet or moist
conditions like bathrooms, laundry areas or similar moist indoor places.
10. Always unplug the air purifier when not in use.
11. Check your air purifier cord and plug connections. A faulty wall outlet or
loose plug can cause the outlet or plug to overheat. Make sure the plug
fits tightly in outlet.
12. Do not run power cord under carpeting, runners or similar type floor
coverings.
13. Do not use this product outdoors.
14. Do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on any soft
surface, like a couch or bed, where the openings may become blocked.
15. Do not tilt or move the air purifier while the unit is powered on. Make sure
the power is off and remove the plug from the outlet before moving.
16. Use this air purifier only for its intended use as described in this manual.
Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire,
electric shock, or serious injury to a person.
17. Press the power button to turn off the air purifier prior to removing plug
from outlet.
FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY
NOTICE
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of electric shock, this plug isintended to fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not
fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
CAUTION
This appliance is for household use. Any servicing other than cleaning and user
maintenance should be performed by an authorized service representative.
• Do not immerse base in water.
• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not disassemble the base.
Note: The base does not contain any user-serviceable parts.
• Make sure the air purifier is always 6 inches away from any walls as well as at
least 3 feet away from any heat source.
• Repairs should be made only by authorized personnel.
• Check voltage to be sure that the voltage indicated on the nameplate agrees
with your voltage.
• Never clean with scouring powders or hard implements.

UNPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
Place the gift box containing your Cuisinart Purxium™ Air Purifier on a sturdy, flat
surface. Open the top flap and remove the instruction booklet and other printed
materials from the box. Remove all packing material from unit as well as plastic
coverings from any parts.

INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your Cuisinart CAP-1000 Purxium™ Air Purier. This
air purier offers 4-stage, 4-sided intake at 360 degrees to give a large
room clean and odor free air. It comes complete with 4 metal pre-lters,
H13 high-grade HEPA lters, active carbon lters and UV-C light that work
together to capture up to 99.9% of various airborne particles 0.1 Micron
or larger including bacteria and various contaminants to provide fresher,
cleaner air.

TO OPERATE YOUR AIR PURIFIER
1.
Place the CAP-1000 air purier on a sturdy, at surface.
2.
Make sure the unit is plugged in.
3.
Turn On: Press the Power ON button.

an Speeds: Select or change fan speed (choose 1, 2, 3, and 4).
Start by pressing the fan speed button, continue pressing until you
have reached your desired setting, then release the button.
5. 12-Hour Timer Function:
To select the desired time, press the timer
button. The timer will show settings ranging from 1 hour – 12 hours
and off. If there is no time selected, the timer will be off. The unit will
continue to run until the power is turned off.

Child Safety Lock: This can be activated by pressing and holding
the lock button for 3 seconds. All buttons on the air purier will now
be in locked mode. To take the unit off locked mode, simply hold the
lock button again for 3 seconds and the unit will now be unlocked.
7. Sleep Mode/Night Light: To activate the night light press once. The blue
night light will illuminate along with the control panel lights. To activate Sleep
Mode. Press the icon a second time, and the Moon symbol will illuminate in
addition to the night light. Press the icon one more and only the moon icon
will be illuminated.
9. Filter Replacement Light: The filter replacement light will illuminate in RED
when it is it is time to replace the HEPA H13 and active carbon filters on the
unit. The filter light will illuminate after 2,500 hours of continuous use.
10. UV-C Light: The UV-C light will illuminate automatically when the unit is
turned on. Press the button once to turn off the UV-C light.
Note:
Utilizing an H13 High-Grade HEPA filter does not make this a medical device.
REMOVING THE FILTERS
Always unplug your Cuisinart Purxium Air Purifier from the electrical outlet
before replacing or removing filters.
To replace the Purxium™ Air Purifier filters, you will first need to unplug the unit
and remove the back panel. To remove the back panel, squeeze the latch at the
top of the door panel and tilt the door panel down to remove. Once removed,
you can slide out the entire 4-sided H13 HEPA filter system. Your filter system
comes with 4 removable, reusable metal pre-filters. Slide each of the 4 filters out
from the main filter housing and hand wash them in warm soapy water. Be sure
to dry them thoroughly before using with your new replacement filter.

INSTALLING YOUR REPLACEMENT
FILTER SYSTEM
1. Your air purifier will automatically tell you when its time to change your filter. An
icon on the control panel will illuminate after 2500 hours of purification has been
reached.
2 . Place the 4-sided combination H13 HEPA/Active Carbon filter on a sturdy
flat surface.
3. Slide the removable, reusable metal pre-filter that you have washed and dried
into the slots on all 4 sides of the replacement H13 HEPA/Active Carbon filter.
4. Slide the new 4-sided filter system into the back of the unit until you feel resis-
tance.
5. Make sure your air purifier is plugged in and powered up.
YOU WILL NOW NEED TO RESET THE FILTER INDICATOR.
6. Reset the filter indicator light by pressing and holding down the night light
button for 3 seconds. This will reset the filter indicator light.
MAINTENANCE AND REPLACEMENT
OF FILTERS AND UV-C LIGHT
The H13 high-grade HEPA lters could be vacuumed as needed in order for the air
purier to perform at its best. If the air purier contains dust or pet dander, it’s best
to clean the removable, reusable metal pre-lters more often than once a month to
maintain 2,500 hours of lter life. Always unplug your air purier from the electrical
outlet before replacing or removing any lters or replacing the UV-C bulb.
Step 1. Filter Cover Panel:
The Purxium Air Purier takes in and puries air on all 4 sides.
To remove lters contained in the unit, you will remove the lter cover
panel located in the back of the air purier. Press the button located on
top of the panel to release it from the base of the unit.
Step 2. Pre-Filters and HEPA H13 Filtration Set:
You will now see the pre-lter and HEPA H13 and active carbon lters
that you will remove from the unit by placing your ngers
on the left and right side of the lter and pulling straight out.
The lters are a complete set. The pre-lters may be removed
by pulling them up through the slots.
Step 3. UV-C Light:
Follow Steps 1 and 2 for removing lters. At the base of the unit, there is
one screw that hold the cover to the UV-C bulb compartment. Remove
the screw with a screwdriver and carefully remove the UV-C light bulb.
Replace with new a UV-C light bulb. The UV-C light bulb should be
replaced at 10,000 hours of use. Contact Cuisinart customer service for
your replacement UV-C light tube.
WARNING: Skin or eye damage may result from directly viewing the light
produced from this lamp in this apparatus. Always disconnect before relamping or
servicing. Replace lamp with Lamp Model No.: Z138, manufactured by Zhangzhou
Yingguang Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.
FEATURES AND SPECIFICATIONS
Note: The UV-C light contains mercury, which is a hazardous material. Please use
gloves when removing the bulb, place into a plastic bag and drop off at a recycle
facility near you.
Our H13 High Grade HEPA filter captures up to 99.9% of airborne particles
0.1 Micron or larger including bacteria and various contaminants as well as dust,
pollen and odors from cooking, smoke, pets and VOC’s. The CAP-1000 quiet DC
motor has a 3-stage filtration system that purifies air in an up to 1,000-sq. ft. area
two times every hour or 500-sq. ft. area four times every hour.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
To get the most out of your Purxium™ Air Purifier, it’s best to clean the washable
pre-filters once a month or more often, depending on where the air purifier is placed
and if you have pets. The HEPA H13 filters should be cleaned once a month using
the brush attachment from a vacuum.
1. Unplug the power cord from the unit and from the outlet. The metal pre-filters
are to be hand-washed only. If the pre-filters are fairly clean, wash each one
with warm soapy water. If the pre-filters are very dirty, you may need use a soft
brush to gently clean them. Make sure the pre-filters are completely dry before
placing back into the unit.
2. Remove the HEPA H13 and active carbon filters as described on page 4.
3. The best way to clean the HEPA H13 filters is to use a vacuum cleaner with the
brush attachment. Gently run the brush attachment along the white side of the
filter only. You do not need to vacuum the active carbon filter on the other side
of the HEPA H13 filter.

This warranty is available to U.S. consumers only. You are a consumer if
you own a Cuisinart
®
Purxium™ Air Purifier that was purchased at retail for
personal, family or household use. Except as otherwise required under
applicable law, this warranty is not available to retailers or other
commercial purchasers or owners. We warrant that your Cuisinart
®
Purxium Air Purifier will be free of defects in materials and workmanship
under normal home use for 3 years from the date of original purchase.
We recommend that you visit our website, www.cuisinart.com, for a fast,
efficient way to complete your product registration. However, product
registration does not eliminate the need for the consumer to maintain the
original proof of purchase in order to obtain the warranty benefits. In the
event that you do not have proof of purchase date, the purchase date for
purposes of this warranty will be the date of manufacture.
CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ONLY
California law provides that for In-Warranty Service, California residents
have the option of returning a nonconforming product (A) to the store
where it was purchased or (B) to another retail store that sells Cuisinart
products of the same type. The retail store shall then, according to its
preference, either repair the product, refer the consumer to an independent
repair facility, replace the product, or refund the purchase price less the
amount directly attributable to the consumer’s prior usage of the product.
If neither of the above two options results in the appropriate relief to the
consumer, the consumer may then take the product to an independent
repair facility, if service or repair can be economically accomplished.
Cuisinart and not the consumer will be responsible for the reasonable cost
of such service, repair, replacement, or refund for nonconforming products
under warranty. California residents may also, according to their
preference, return nonconforming products directly to Cuisinart for repair

authorized by Cuisinart. This warranty does not cover any damage
caused by accident, misuse, shipment or other than ordinary household
use. This warranty excludes all incidental or consequential damages.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of these damages,
so these exclusions may not apply to you. You may also have other rights,
which vary from state to state.
Important: If the nonconforming product is to be serviced by someone
other than Cuisinart’s Authorized Service Center, please remind the

INSTRUCCIONES OPERACIÓN DE SU
PURIFICADOR DE AIRE
1.
Coloque la unidad sobre una superficie plana y segura.
2.
Cerciórese de que la unidad está enchufada.
3.
Para encender: Presione el ícono de encendido/apagado.
4.
Cuatro velocidades de ventilación: Para elegir o cambiar la
velocidad de ventilación: Mantenga presionado el ícono del
ventilador para elegir la velocidad de ventilación deseada, 1, 2, 3 o 4,
luego suelte el ícono del ventilador.
5. Temporizador de 12 horas:
Para fijar el tiempo deseado, presione
el ícono del reloj. La pantalla mostrará las opciones de tiempo
disponibles, desde 1 hora hasta 12 horas y “OFF” (temporizador
apagado). Si no selecciona ningún tiempo, el temporizador estará
apagado. La unidad seguirá encendida hasta que la apague
manualmente, presionando el ícono de encendido/apagado.

Bloqueo de seguridad para niños: Para activar el bloqueo de
seguridad para niños, mantenga presionado el ícono del candado por
3 segundos. Todos los controles de la unidad estarán bloqueados.
Para desactivar modo de bloqueo de seguridad, mantenga
presionado el ícono del candado por 3 segundos.
7. Modo de ahorro de energía/Luz nocturna: Para activar la luz nocturna
presione una vez. La luz nocturna azul se iluminará junto con las luces del
panel de control. Para activar el modo de suspensión. Presione el ícono por
segunda vez y el símbolo de la Luna se iluminará además de la luz nocturna.
Pulsa el icono una vez más y solo se iluminará el icono de la luna.
9. Indicador de cambio de los filtros: Si el ícono “Replace Filter” se enciende
de color ROJO, esto significa que es hora de cambiar el filtro de HEPA
H13 y los filtros de carbón activo. El indicador de cambio de los filtros se
encenderá después de 2500 horas de uso continuo.
10. Luz UV-C: La luz UV-C se encenderá automáticamente cada vez que
encienda la unidad. Presione el ícono UV una vez para apagar la luz.
Nota:
Usar un filtro HEPA H13 de alto rendimiento no convierte este aparato un
dispositivo médico.

INSTALACIÓN DELSISTEMA DE FILTRACIÓN
DE REPUESTO
1. Su purificador de aire le avisará automáticamente cuando llegue el momento
de cambiar el filtro. El ícono “Replace Filter” en el panel de control se
encenderá después de 2500 horas de purificación del aire.
2. Coloque los cuatro filtros HEPA H13/filtros de carbón activo en una superficie
plana y resistente.
3. Deslice cada prefiltro metálico removible y reutilizable (lavado y secado) en la
ranuras del filtro HEPA/filtro de carbón activo de repuesto correspondiente.
4. Deslice los cuatro lados del nuevo sistema de filtración en la unidad hasta
que sienta resistencia.
5. Compruebe que el purificador de aire está enchufado y encendido.
AHORA TENDRÁ QUE REINICIAR EL INDICADOR DE CAMBIO DEL FILTRO.
6. Para reiniciar el indicador de cambio del filtro, mantenga presionando el ícono
de la luna por 3 segundos; el ícono “Change Filter” se apagará.
MANTENIMIENTO Y REEMPLAZO
DE LOS FILTROS Y DE LA LUZ UV-C
Los filtros HEPA H13 de alto rendimiento deben ser aspirados regularmente
para que el purificador de aire funcione de manera óptima. Si nota que los filtros

antes de retirar o cambiar los filtros o la bombilla UV-C.
Paso 1. Cubierta del filtro:
El purificador de aire Purxium aspira y filtra el aire en los cuatro lados.
Para retirar los filtros, deberá primero retirar la cubierta del filtro
ubicada en la parte posterior de la unidad. Presione el botón ubicado
en la parte superior de la cubierta para liberarla de la base.
Paso 2. Sistema de filtración HEPA H13 y prefiltros:
Ahora verá el prefiltro, el filtro HEPA H13 y el filtro de carbón activo.
Retírelos de la unidad colocando los dedos a la izquierda y a la derecha
del filtro y tirando directamente hacia fuera.
Nota: Los filtros HEPA H13 y los filtros de carbón son un juego
completo. Para retirar los prefiltros metálicos, jálelos hacia arriba a
través de las ranuras.
Paso 3. Bombilla UV-C:
Siga los pasos 1 y 2 para retirar los filtros. En la base de la unidad, hay
un tornillo que sujeta la cubierta del compartimiento de la bombilla
UV-C. Retire el tornillo con un destornillador y, con cuidado, retire la
bombilla UV-C. Sustituya la bombilla usada por una nueva bombilla
UV-C. La bombilla UV-C debe ser reemplazada después de aprox.
10.000 horas de uso. Comuníquese con el centro de atención al cliente
de Cuisinart para conseguir bombillas UV-C de repuesto.
ADVERTENCIA: Mirar directamente la luz producida por la lámpara UV-C
puede causar daños oculares o cutáneos. Siempre desenchufe la unidad antes
de cambiar la bombilla o cualquier operación de mantenimiento. Reemplace la

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
Para sacar el máximo provecho de su purificador de aire Purxium™, es
recomendable lavar los prefiltros una vez al mes o más a menudo, dependiendo
de dónde se coloque la unidad y si tiene mascotas. Los filtros HEPA H13 deben
ser limpiados una vez al mes usando el accesorio “cepillo” de su aspiradora.
1. Desconecte el cable de la unidad y de la toma de corriente. Los prefiltros
metálicos deben lavarse a mano solamente. Si los prefiltros no están muy
sucios, lave cada uno en el fregadero con agua tibia. Si están muy sucios, use
un cepillo suave para restregarlos suavemente. Cerciórese de dejar secar los
prefiltros por completo antes de volver a colocarlos en la unidad.
2. Retire los filtros HEPA H13 y los filtros de carbón activo según se describió en
la sección “REMOCIÓN DE LOS FILTROS”.
3. La mejor manera de limpiar los filtros HEPA H13 es aspirarlos con una
aspiradora, usando el accesorio “cepillo” de la aspiradora. Pase suavemente el
cepillo a lo largo del lado blanco del filtro solamente. No es necesario aspirar/
limpiar el otro lado (o sea, el lado con el filtro de carbón activo) del filtro HEPA
H13.
