Introduction
The Oxford® Comfort sling is an easy t, contoured sling designed to accommodate the majority of clients.
For use in conjunction with a 4-point positioning cradle, the patented Securi3 clip system ensures no
inadvertent detachment of the sling.
Special Sling Orders
On occasions, material, dimensional and other changes outside of the standard specication are requested.
Please be advised, that aside of any model specic references, tting, washing and safety guidelines

Statement of Intended Use
A sling is an item of moving and handling equipment that is used with a mechanical lift in order to facilitate
the transfer of a patient. It comprises a specially designed and constructed piece of fabric that is placed
under and/or around a patient before being attached to the spreader bar/cradle of a lift to raise, transfer and
lower the patient. When selected and used correctly, a sling and lift combination will achieve a safer transfer
and reduce the risks associated with manual handling.
It is the responsibility of a competent person to conduct a thorough risk assessment prior to using any
sling, to ensure that the sling choice, method of positioning in the sling and procedure for transfer has been
correctly determined for the patient. For further guidance, please contact your authorised Oxford Service
Provider or Joerns Healthcare.

Expected Service Life
The expected service life of an Oxford sling will vary dependent on use and following the care and washing
instructions provided in the user guide. Factors such as wash temperature, detergents, frequency of use
and patient weight will impact on the lifetime of your sling. Joerns Healthcare recommend that slings are
checked each and every time prior to use to ensure the safety of the patient. Bleached, torn, cut, frayed
or broken slings are unsafe and must be discarded and replaced. It is a requirement under LOLER (Lifting
Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) that slings are thoroughly checked and passed t
for use. For further advice, please contact your authorised Oxford Service Provider or Joerns Healthcare.
Serious Incident Reporting
In the event of a serious incident taking place during use of this product, aecting the patient and/or care-
giver, it must be reported to the product manufacturer or authorised distributor. Should the incident take
place within the European Union (EU), it must also be reported to the local competent authority within the
member state.
WARNING
• OXFORD RECOMMENDS THE USE OF GENUINE OXFORD PARTS. Oxford sling and lift
products are designed to be compatible with one another. For country specific guidance
on sling use and compatibility, please refer to the sling label or contact your local market
distributor or Joerns Healthcare.
• For the safety of the patient and carer; before using a sling a full risk assessment must be
conducted to ensure that the correct sling choice, method of positioning in the sling and
procedure for transfer has been determined for the patient.
• CHECK sling and stitching before each use. Using bleached, torn, cut, frayed or broken
slings is unsafe and could result in serious injury or death to the patient.
• DO NOT alter slings. Destroy and discard worn slings.
• NEVER leave a patient unattended.
• DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of the sling or lift.
• DO NOT attempt to re-position a patient by pulling on the sling loops.

Fitting the Sling from a Seated Position
The comfort sling is tted to the patient in the traditional
way. Fitting from the seated position requires the carer to
raise the clients leg and feed the leg support piece under
and up between the legs. Repeat this procedure for other
leg. Ensure the sling is not twisted or creased under the
thigh. Bring both leg pieces together and feed through
the modesty strap.
Position the rear section of the sling up and around the
shoulders and head, the client is then ready for lifting.

1. THE CLIENT’S POSTURE CAN BE ALTERED BY PUSHING DOWN ON SPREADER BAR
PIVOT HANDLE.
2. ATTACH SECURI3 CLIPS TO THE SPREADER BAR.

Fitting the Sling from a Lying Position
Safely position the client onto the sling, ensuring that the commode aperture is at the base of the spine.
Position the spreader bar as shown opposite and the client is ready for lifting.

When tted to the patient, the sling is connected to the 4 point spreader bar by using the Securi3 clip
system (step by step guide as follows). To remove, simply reverse this procedure.
The Comfort Pad must be applied as it provides additional comfort and support to the client. Do not lift
without the Comfort Pad correctly in position. The Comfort Pad is available in dierent thicknesses providing
increased levels of support/comfort.

Usage prévu
Une sangle est un composant d’un équipement d’aide au déplacement, utilisée avec un lève-personne
mécanique an de faciliter le transfert d’un patient. Elle se compose d’une toile spécialement conçue et
fabriquée, qui vient se placer sous et/ou autour du patient avant d’être attachée à la barre d’écartement/
arceau d’un pèse-personne an d’élever, de transférer et d’abaisser le patient. Utilisés correctement,
la sangle et le lève-personne assurent un transfert sécurisé et réduisent les risques associés aux
manipulations manuelles.
Il incombe à la personne compétente de procéder à une évaluation des risques avant d’utiliser une sangle,
an de s’assurer que le choix de la sangle, la méthode de positionnement dans la sangle et la procédure de

Durée de vie prévue
La durée de vie prévue d’une sangle Oxford varie selon l’usage qui en est fait et le respect des consignes

détergents utilisés, la fréquence d’utilisation et le poids du patient auront un impact sur la durée de vie de
la sangle. Joerns Healthcare recommande d’inspecter les sangles avant chaque utilisation, an de garantir
la sécurité du patient. Une sangle présentant des taches d’eau de Javel, déchirée, coupée ou elochée
représente un danger et doit être mise au rebut et remplacée. La réglementation LOLER (Lifting Operations
and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) exige l’examen minutieux des sangles an de garantir qu’elles

Comment Passer La Sangle En Position Assise
Positionnez le patient fermement sur la sangle de façon à ce que la coupe atteigne le bas de la colonne
vertébrale. Positionnez le éau comme illustré ci-contre. Le patient est prêt et peut être soulevé.
CONSEILS
1. LA POSTURE DU PATIENT PEUT ÊTRE MODIFIÉE EN APPUYANT SUR LA POIGNEE
DE PIVOT DU FLEAU.
2. FIXEZ LES CLIPS SECURI3 AU FLÉAU CONFORMÉMENT.
3. TOUTES LES BOUCLES VERTES DOIVENT ÊTRE VISIBLES AVANT DE SOULEVER LE
PATIENT.
La sangle Comfort se met place comme toutes les
autres sangles. Pour passer la sangle en position assise,
l’accompagnateur doit soulever la jambe du patient pour
glisser le renfort par-dessous et le faire ressortir entre les
jambes. Répétez l’opération pour l’autre jambe. Assurez-
vous que la sangle n’est ni entortillée ni plissée sous la
cuisse. Rejoignez les deux renforts et faites-les passer
dans la bande d’attache.
Remontez la partie arrière de la sangle et vériez qu’elle
enveloppe bien les épaules. Le patient est prêt et peut
être soulevé.

Une fois passée autour du patient, la sangle est attachée sur les 4 points de xation du éau au moyen du
système d’attache Securi3 (guide étape par étape ci-dessous). Pour enlever la sangle, il sut de suivre
la même procédure dans le sens inverse.
Il est nécessaire d’utiliser le renfort Comfort car il assure un plus grand confort et un meilleur maintien au
patient. Ne levez pas le patient sans avoir préalablement installé le renfort Comfort. Ce renfort existe en
diérentes épaisseurs pour un meilleur confort/maintien.

NE PAS laver à l’eau de javel L’eau de Javel aura pour eet d’endommager et de
fragiliser le matériau de la sangle, rendant cette dernière inutilisable.

Ein Gurt ist eine Ausstattung zum Umsetzen und zur Handhabung, die mit einer mechanischen
Hebevorrichtung verwendet wird, um den Transfer von Patienten zu erleichtern. Er besteht aus einem
eigens für diesen Zweck entwickelten und ausgelegten Sto, der unter und/oder um einen Patienten
gelegt und dann am Spreizbügel/an der Halterung eines Patientenlifters befestigt wird, um den Patienten
anzuheben, umzusetzen und abzusenken. Wenn die Kombination aus Gurt und Patientenlifter richtig
ausgewählt und verwendet wird, ermöglicht sie ein sicheres Umlagern und die mit dem manuellen Heben
von Patienten verbundenen Gefahren werden verringert.
Es liegt in der Verantwortung einer sachkundigen Person, dass vor dem Gebrauch von Gurten eine
umfassende Risikoanalyse durchgeführt und der richtige Gurt, die richtige Methode zur Positionierung im

Die erwartete Lebensdauer eines Oxford Gurts hängt vom Gebrauch und von der Beachtung der Pege-
und Waschanleitung in diesem Benutzerhandbuch ab. Faktoren wie Waschtemperatur, Waschmittel,
Häugkeit der Benutzung und das Gewicht des Patienten wirken sich auf die Lebensdauer Ihres Gurts aus.
Joerns Healthcare empehlt, Gurte vor jedem Gebrauch zu überprüfen, um die Sicherheit des Patienten
zu gewährleisten. Ausgebleichte, zerrissene, ausgefranste oder kaputte Gurte sind gefährlich und müssen
entsorgt und ausgewechselt werden. Nach LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
1998) oder den jeweils anwendbaren Unfallverhütungsvorschriften müssen Gurte gründlich überprüft und

händler gemeldet werden. Sollte der Vorfall innerhalb der Europäischen Union (EU) auftreten, muss er auch
die Behörde vor Ort gemeldet werden, die im jeweiligen Mitgliedstaat zuständig ist.

und Lifts von Oxford sind frei miteinander kombinierbar. Länderspezifische Angaben zur

• Zum Schutz des Patienten und der Pflegeperson muss vor der Benutzung des Sitztuchs

Anlegen Der Schlinge Aus Dem Sitz

SICHTBAR SIND, BEVOR SIE DEN PATIENTEN HEBEN.
Die Comfort Schlinge wird am Patienten auf traditionelle
Weise angelegt. Um die Schlinge aus dem Sitz anzulegen,
heben Sie das Bein des Patienten an und führen Sie die
Fußstütze unter dem Bein durch nach oben zwischen
die Beine. Wiederholen Sie diesen Vorgang am anderen
Bein. Achten Sie darauf, daß die Schlinge unter dem
Schenkel keine Falten wirft oder verdreht ist. Bringen Sie
beide Beinteile zusammen und führen Sie sie durch den
Unterleibgurt.
Legen Sie den hinteren Teil der Schlinge nach oben
um die Schultern und den Kopf. Der Patient kann nun
gehoben werden.

Positionieren Sie den Klienten sicher auf der Schlinge und stellen Sie sicher, dass sich die Kommodenönung

Introducción

Declaración de uso previsto
Un arnés es una pieza en movimiento y forma parte del equipo de manipulación que se utiliza con un
elevador mecánico para facilitar el traslado de un paciente. Se compone de un trozo de tela especialmente
diseñado y construido que se coloca por debajo o alrededor de un paciente antes de acoplarlo a la barra
separadora o la base de soporte de un elevador para levantar, transferir o descender al paciente. La
selección y uso correctos del arnés y combinación de piezas de elevación brindan una transferencia más
segura y reducen los riesgos asociados a la manipulación manual.
Una persona competente y responsable debe llevar a cabo una evaluación minuciosa de los riesgos antes
de usar cualquier arnés, para asegurarse de que la elección, el método de posicionamiento en el arnés y
el procedimiento de transferencia se hayan calculado correctamente para el paciente en cuestión. Para

Vida útil estipulada previa al mantenimiento
La vida útil estipulada de un arnés Oxford variará dependiendo del uso y del cuidado que le brinde, y
del seguimiento de las instrucciones de lavado presentes en la guía del usuario. Otros factores, como la
temperatura del lavado, los detergentes, la frecuencia de uso y el peso del paciente tendrán un impacto en
la vida útil del arnés. Joerns Healthcare recomienda revisar los arneses cada vez que vaya a usarlos para
garantizar la seguridad del paciente. Si los arneses se encuentran descoloridos, rotos, cortados o rasgados
ya no son elementos seguros, por lo que debe desecharlos y sustituirlos de inmediato. Es un requisito de
LOLER (Regulaciones sobre operaciones para levantar pacientes y equipos de elevación de 1998) que los

• OXFORD RECOMIENDA UTILIZAR PRODUCTOS AUTÉNTICOS OXFORD. Los sistemas Oxford de
arneses y elevación tienen un diseño que los hace compatibles entre sí. Para obtener información y
consejos específicos acerca del uso y compatibilidad de los arneses, consulte la etiqueta del arnés, o
bien comuníquese con su distribuidor local de mercado o con Joerns Healthcare.
• Por la seguridad del paciente y del proveedor de cuidados, antes de utilizar cualquier arnés, se

• NO deje NUNCA un paciente desatendido.
• NO exceda la capacidad estipulada para la eslinga o el elevador.
• NO intente modificar la posición del paciente tirando de las presillas del arnés.

Cómo Se Pone La Eslainga En Posición Sentada
La eslinga Comfort se le pone al paciente de la manera
tradicional. Si se va a poner en posición sentada, el
cuidador deberá levantar la pierna del paciente y meter la
pieza de sujeción de las piernas por debajo de las piernas
y sacarla por entre ellas. Repita el mismo procedimiento
con la otra pierna. Asegúrese de que la eslinga no esté
retorcida ni arrugada bajo el muslo. Junte las dos piezas
de sujeción de las piernas, y páselas por la correa de la
entrepierna.
Suba la parte trasera de la eslinga hasta los hombros
y rodee con ella los hombros y la cabeza; ahora podrá
levantar al paciente.
BUENOS CONSEJOS
1. SE PUEDE MODIFICAR LA POSTURA DEL PACIENTE PRESIONANDO HACIA BAJO EL
ASA PIVOTANTE DE LA BARRA DE SEPARACIÓN.

posizionamento a 4 punti, il sistema brevettato di Securi3 Clip assicura che l’imbracatura non si possa
slacciare inavvertitamente.
Ordini di imbracature speciali
Occasionalmente vengono richieste modiche di materiale, dimensioni e di altro tipo, al di fuori delle
speciche standard. Si prega di notare che, a parte i riferimenti specici del modello, le linee guida di
montaggio, lavaggio e sicurezza rimangono applicabili. In caso di dubbi, contattare il proprio rivenditore
Oxford autorizzato o direttamente Joerns Healthcare.
Dichiarazione di destinazione d’uso
Un’imbracatura è un’attrezzatura utile allo spostamento e alla movimentazione, utilizzata con un sollevatore
meccanico/elettrico per facilitare il trasferimento di un paziente. Comprende una componente in tessuto ap-

Se selezionata ed utilizzata correttamente, una buona combinazione di imbracatura e sollevatore otterrà un
trasferimento più sicuro e ridurrà i rischi associati alla movimentazione manuale del paziente.
È responsabilità di un soggetto competente condurre un’approfondita valutazione del rischio prima di utiliz-
zare qualsiasi imbracatura, per garantire che la scelta dell’imbracatura, il metodo di posizionamento del
paziente nell’imbracatura e la procedura per il trasferimento siano stati determinati correttamente. Per
ulteriori indicazioni, contattare il rivenditore Oxford autorizzato o Joerns Healthcare.
DA UTILIZZARE SOLO CON SOLLEVATORI PASSIVI.
Aspettative di durata
La durata prevista di un’imbracatura Oxford varia in base all’utilizzo e alle istruzioni per la cura e il lavaggio
fornite nella guida per l’utente. Fattori come la temperatura di lavaggio, i detersivi, la frequenza d’utilizzo
e il peso del paziente inuiranno sulla durata dell’imbracatura. Joerns Healthcare consiglia di controllare
le imbracature ogni volta prima dell’uso per garantire la sicurezza del paziente. Le imbragature scolorite,
strappate, tagliate, slacciate o rotte non sono sicure e devono essere scartate e sostituite. È un requisito
ai sensi del LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) che le imbracature siano
accuratamente controllate e dichiarate idonee all’uso. Per ulteriori consigli, contattare il rivenditore Oxford

imbracature e i sollevatori Oxford sono progettati per essere compatibili tra loro. Per una guida
specifica sull’uso e la compatibilità dell’imbracatura, fare riferimento all’etichetta posta su

• Per la sicurezza del paziente e dell’operatore, prima di utilizzare un’imbracatura è necessario

Applicazione dell’imbracatura con utente in posizione
seduta
L’imbracatura Comfort può essere applicata all’utente
in modo tradizionale. L’applicazione a un utente seduto
richiede all’assistente di sollevare la gamba e inserire
il supporto per la gamba sotto e attraverso le gambe
dell’utente. Ripetere la procedura sull’altra gamba.
Vericare che l’imbracatura non si sia attorcigliata o
ripiegata sotto la coscia. Unire entrambi i supporti per
le gambe e farli scorrere attraverso la fascia inferiore
dell’utente.
Per sollevare l’utente, posizionare verso l’alto la sezione
posteriore dell’imbracatura e attorno alle spalle e il capo.

1. LA POSTURA DELL’UTENTE PUÒ ESSERE MODIFICATA SPINGENDO VERSO IL

Dopo averla applicata all’utente, l’imbracatura deve essere attaccata al divaricatore a 4 punti usando
il sistema Securi3 Clip (vedere la procedura sequenziale qui sotto riportata). Per rimuoverla ripetere la
procedura in ordine inverso.
Per fornire all’utente un comfort e un sostegno aggiuntivo è necessario applicare anche l’imbottitura
Comfor t. Non procedere con il sollevamento prima di aver posizionato correttamente l’imbottitura Comfort.
