GENERAL SAFETY RULES

Never use the generator in a location

that is wet or damp. Never expose the

generator to rain, snow, water spray or

standing water while in use. Protect the

generator from all hazardous weather

conditions. Moisture or ice can cause a

short circuit or other malfunction in the

electrical circuit.

Never operate the generator in an

enclosed area. Engine exhaust

contains carbon monoxide. Only

operate the generator outside and away

from windows, doors and vents.

Voltage produced by the generator

could result in death or serious injury.

• Never operate the generator in

rain or a floodplain unless proper

precautions are taken to avoid being

subject to rain or a flood.

• Never use worn or damaged

extension cords.

• Always have a licensed electrician

connect the generator to the utility

circuit.

• Never touch an operating generator

if the generator is wet or if you have

wet hands.

• Never operate the generator in highly

conductive areas such as around

metal decking or steel works.

• Always use grounded extension

cords. Always use three=wire or

double=insulated power tools.

• Never touch live terminals or

bare wires while the generator is

operating.

• Be sure the generator is properly

grounded before operating.

Gasoline and gasoline vapors are

extremely flammable and explosive

under certain conditions.

• Always refuel the generator outdoors,

in a well-ventilated area.

Never remove the fuel cap with the

engine running.

• Never refuel the generator while

the engine is running. Always turn

engine off and allow the generator to

cool before refueling.

• Only fill fuel tank with gasoline.

• Keep sparks, open flames or other

form of ignition (such as match,

cigarette, static electric source) away

when refueling.

• Never overfill the fuel tank. Leave

room for fuel to expand. Overfilling

the fuel tank can result in a sudden

overflow of gasoline and result in

spilled gasoline coming in contact

with HOT surfaces. Spilled fuel

can ignite, if fuel is spilled on

the generator, wipe up any spills

immediately. Dispose of rag properly.

Allow area of spilled fuel to dry

before operating the generator.

• Wear eye protection while refueling.

• Never use gasoline as a cleaning

agent.

• Store any containers containing

gasoline in a well=ventilated area,

away from any combustibles or

source of ignition.

• Check for fuel leaks after refueling.

Never operate the engine if a fuel leak

is discovered.

Never operate the generator if powered

items overheat, electrical output drops,

there is sparking, flames or smoke

coming from the generator, or if the

receptacles are damaged.

Never use the generator to power

medical support equipment.

Always remove any tools or other

service equipment used during

maintenance from the generator before

operating.

Never modify the generator.

Never operate the generator if itvibrates at high

levels, if engine speed changes greatly or if the

engine misfires often.

Always disconnect tools or appliances from the

generator before starting.

Always have assistance when lifting

the generator. The generator is heavy;

lifting it could cause bodily harm,

Avoid cutting on or near staples to

prevent personal injury.

Tools required - box cutter or similar device.

Carefully cut the packing tape on top of the carton.

Fold back top flaps to reveal the manual and EZ

Start instructions sitting on top of the unit. Remove

both documents and save them for reference.

Remove the Wheel Kit Accessories cardboard box.

Carefully cut two sides of the carton to remove the

generator.

WHEEL KIT ACCESSORIES

Open the Wheel Kit Accessories box and verify

the contents against the list below. If any parts are

missing, please locate an authorized Westinghouse

Generator dealer at www.westpropower.com or call

Before assembling the generator,

review Safety on page 7 and the

following safety messages.

Never lift the generator without

assistance. The generator is heavy and

lifting without assistance could resut

in personal injury.

Never use the handles as a lifting

point to support the entire weight of

the generator. Only use the handles

to move the generator by lifting the

handles and using the wheels to move

the generator.

Use caution when collapsing the

handles. Hands and fingers could get

caught and pinched.

Assembling the generator will require lifting the unit

on one side. Make sure all engine oil and fuel are

drained from the unit prior to assembling.

Once assembled, the wheel kit is not intended for

on-road use. The wheel kit is designed for use on this

generator only.

Tools required -tool bag (included).

Place generator on a flat surface.

Place a piece of cardboard or other soft material

to tip the generator onto, to protect the frame

paint and prevent the generator from sliding. Tip

the generator onto its side as shown in Figure 5

(engine should be on the bottom).

Install the rubber pads to the feet using the two

M6 x 18 flange bolts (see Figure 6).

4. Install the mounting feet to the frame using four

M6 x 18 mm bolts and M6 locking flange nuts (see

Figure 7).

Install the M12 x 105 mm wheel axle flange bolt

through the wheel (see Figure 8).

Thread the M12 serrated flange nut onto the bolt

with serrated edges facing away from the wheel.

Tighten the nut (see Figure 8).

Install the handles using the clevis pin and hairpin

cotter. Install the nylon washers on the outside and

inside of the handle as shown in Figure 10.

Install the wheel with bolt through the axle bracket

on the frame (see Figure 9).

Install the serrated flange nut and tighten (see

Figure9).

3. Install the rubber pads to the mounting foot using

M6 x 18 mm flange bolts.

4. Install the mounting foot to the frame using M6

flange bolts and nuts.

7. Install the handles using the clevis pin and hairpin

cotter as shown in Figure 14.

Install the 16 mm x 105 mm axle pin through the

axle bracket on the frame.

Install the hairpin cotter through the axle pin.

NOTE:

To avoid electric shock:

• ALWAYS connect the positive (+)

battery wire (red boot) first when

connecting battery wires.

• ALWAYS disconnect the negative (=)

battery wire (black boot) first when

disconnecting battery wires.

• NEVER connect the negative (-)

battery wire (black boot) to the

positive (+) post on the battery.

• NEVER connect the positive (+)

battery wire (red boot) to the negative

(-) post on the battery.

• NEVER touch both battery posts

simultaneously.

• NEVER place a metal tool across

both battery posts.

• ALWAYS use insulated or non-

conducting tools when installing the

battery.

The generator comes equipped with the

positive battery wire (red boot) already

attached.

Verify the positive (+) battery wire (red boot) is

securely tightened to the positive (+) battery post.

Make sure boot is over battery post.

Carefully remove the protective wrapping around

the lug of the negative (-) battery wire (black boot).

Locate negative (-) cable attached to alternator

cable, remove tie and route to the negative (-)

battery post.

Pull back the black boot and securely attach the

negative (-) battery wire (black boot) to the negative

(-) battery post as shown in Figure 15. Replace the

black boot so it protects the wire lug and battery

post.

position once the engine is running.

Spark Plug Boot (Wire): Must be removed

when servicing the engine or the spark plug.

CONTROL PANEL FEATURES

Engine Control Switch (RUN/STOP for

Manual Start Units):

• RUN - In the RUN position, the switch

allows the generator to be started (for

manual start models).

• STOP - In the STOP position, the switch

stops the engine.

Hour Meter: Displays how many hours the

generator has been run.

Main Circuit Breaker: The main circuit

breaker controls total output of all outlets to

protect the generator.

120/240-Volt, 30-Amp Twist Lock Outlet

(NEMA 14-30R): Outlet can supply either

120V or 240V output.

120-Volt, 20-Amp Duplex Outlets (NEMA

5-20R): Each outlet is capable of carrying a

maximum of 20 amps on a single receptacle

or a combination of both receptacles.

20-Amp Circuit Breakers: Each circuit

breaker limits the current that can be

delivered through the 120-volt duplex outlets

to 20 amps.

Ground Terminal: The ground terminal is

used to ground the generator.

Engine Control Switch (START/RUN/STOP

for Electric Start Units):

• START - When the switch is momentarily

depressed and held in the START position,

the electric start motor engages and starts

the engine. Once the engine starts, release

the switch. (The switch will automatically go

to the RUN position.)

• RUN - Once started, the switch will remain

in the RUN position.

• STOP - To stop the engine, move the switch

to the STOP position.

Before starting the generator, review

Safety on page 7.

Location Selection - Before starting the generator,

avoid exhaust and location hazards by verifying:

• You have selected a location to operate the

generator that is outdoors and well ventlated.

• You have selected a location with a level and solid

surface on which to place the generator.

• You have selected a location that is at least 6 feet

(1.8 m) away from any building, other equipment or

combustible material.

• if the generator is located close to a building, make

sure it is not located near any windows, doors

and/or vents.

No Connected Loads - Make sure the generator

has no connected loads before starting it. To ensure

there are no connected loads, unplug any electrical

extension cords that are plugged into the control panel

receptacles.

Starting the generator with loads already applied

to it could result in damage to any appliance being

powered off the generator during the brief start-up

period.

Grounding the Generator - The National Electric

Code (NEC), as well as many local electrical codes,

require the generator to be connected to earth ground

before operating. Before starting the generator, make

sure it isconnected to earth ground by connecting

the ground terminal on the control panel (see Figure

19) to earth ground using copper wire (minimum 10

AWG). Consult a qualified electrician for local grounding

requirements.

Always operate the generator on a level

surface. Placing the generator on non-

level surfaces can cause the generator

to tip over, causing fuel and oil to spill.

Spilled fuel can ignite if it comes in

contact with an ignition source such as

a very hot surface.

Only operate the generator on a solid, level surface.

Operating the generator on a surface with loose

material such as sand or grass clippings can cause

debris to be ingested by the generator that could:

Block cooling vents

Block air intake system

Weather - Never operate your generator outdoors

during rain, snow or any combination of weather

conditions that could lead to moisture collecting on, in

or around the generator.

Dry Surface - Always operate the generator on a dry

surface free of any moisture.

Be sure the generator is properly

connected to earth ground before

operating. The generator must be

grounded to prevent electrical shock

due to faulty appliances.

ADDING / CHECKING ENGINE

FLUIDS AND FUEL

Before adding/checking engine

fluids and fuel, review Safety on

page 7.

Filling the fuel tank with gasoline while

the generator is running can cause

gasoline to leak and come in contact

with hot surfaces that can ignite the

gasoline.

Before starting the generator, always check the level of:

• Engine oil

Gasoline in the fuel tank

Once the generator is started and the engine gets

warm, it is not safe to add gasoline to the fuel tank or

engine oil to the engine while the engine isrunning or

the engine and muffler are hot.

Checking and / or Adding Engine

Internal pressure can build in the

engine crankcase while the engine

is running. Removing the oil fill plug/

dipstick while the engine is hot can

cause extremely hot oil to spray out

of the crankcase and can severely

burn skin. AHow engine oil to cool for

several minutes before removing the oil

fill plug/dipstick.

The unit as shipped does not contain oil in the

engine.You must add engine oil before starting the

generator for the first time. See Checking Engine

Off on page 29 and Adding Engine Off on page

30 for instructions on checking engine oil level

and the procedure for adding engine oil.

The generator does not contain engine oil as shipped.

Attempting to start the engine without adding

engine oil can permanently damage internal engine

components,

Adding Gasoline to the Fue Tank

Never refuel the generator while the

engine is running.

Always turn the engine off and allow

the generator to cool before refueling.

Required Gasoline - Only use gasoline that meets the

following requirements:

Unleaded gasoline only

Gasoline with maximum 10% ethanol added

• Gasoline with an 87 octane rating or higher

Filling the Fuel Tank - Follow the steps below to fill the

fuel tank:

Shut off the generator.

Allow the generator to cool down so all surface

areas of the muffler and engine are cool to the

touch.

Move the generator to a flat surface.

Clean area around the fuel cap.

Remove the fuel cap by rotating counterclockwise.

Slowly add gasoline into the fuel tank. Be very

careful not to overfill the tank. The gasoline level

should NOT be higher than the bottom of the filler

neck (see Figure 20).

Install the fuel cap by rotating clockwise until

you hear a click, indicating the cap is completely

installed.

Avoid prolonged skin contact with

gasoline. Avoid prolonged breathing of

gasoline vapors.

STARTING THE GENERATOR

Before starting the generator, review

Safety on page 7.

Before attempting to start the generator, verify the

following:

• The engine is filled with engine oil (see Checking

Engine Oil on page 29).

• The generator is situated in a proper location (see

Location Selection on page 22).

• The generator is on a dry surface (see Weatherand

Dry Surface on page 22).

• All loads are disconnected from the generator (see

No Connected Loads on page 22).

• The generator is properly grounded (see Grounding

the Generator on page 22).

The engine is equipped with a low oil shutdown

switch. If the oil level becomes low, the engine will

shut down and will not start until the oil is filled to the

proper level.

Be sure the engine has the proper oil level before

using. Failure to verify that the engine has the proper

oil level could result in engine damage.

Disconnect all loads from the generator before

starting. Failure to verify all loads are disconnected

prior to starting the generator could result in damage

to the connected appliances.

Manually Starting a Generator

NOTE: This procedure can also be used on an

electric start generator.

1. Make sure the circuit breakers are properly set (see

Figure 21).

Never use the generator in a location

that is wet or damp. Never expose the

generator to rain, snow, water spray or

standing water while in use. Protect the

generator from all hazardous weather

conditions. Moisture or ice can cause a

short circuit or other malfunction in the

electrical circuit.

Never operate the generator in an

enclosed area. Engine exhaust

contains carbon monoxide. Only

operate the generator outside and away

from windows, doors and vents.

Starting an Electric Start Generator

Verify the battery is properly installed and both

battery cables are attached (see Installing the

Battery (Electric Start Generators Only) on page

18).

2. Make sure the circuit breakers are properly set (see

Figure 26).

Move the choke lever to the ON position (see

Figure 28).

NOTE:

If the engine fails to start after 5 seconds,

release the engine control switch. Let the

generator sit idle for 15 seconds and then

repeat step 5. If the cranking speed drops

after each unsuccessful attempt, then the

battery may not be adequately charged.

Manually start the generator as instructed

in Manuah'y Starting a Generator on page

24.

NOTE:

The electric start generator is equipped

with a battery charging feature. Once

the engine is running, a small charge is

supplied to the battery via the battery

cables and will slowly recharge the battery.

6. As the engine starts and stabilizes, gradually move

the choke lever back to the OFF position.

STOPPING THE GENERATOR

Normal Operation

During normal operation, use the following steps to stop

your generator:

1. Remove any connected loads from the control

panel receptacles.

2. Allow the generator to run at "no load" to reduce

and stabilize engine and alternator temperatures.

3. Push the engine control switch to the OFF position.

4. Turn the fuel shutoff valve to the OFF position.

During an Emergency

If there is an emergency and the generator must be

stopped quickly, push the engine control switch to the

OFF position immediately.

MAINTENANCE

Before performing maintenance

on the generator, review Safety on

page 7and the following safety

messages.

Avoid accidentally starting the

generator during maintenance by

removing the spark plug boot from

the spark plug. For electric start

generators, also disconnect the battery

wires from the battery (disconnect the

black negative (-) wire first) and place

the wires away from the battery posts

to avoid arcing.

Allow hot components to cool to

the touch prior to performing any

maintenance procedure.

Internal pressure can build in the

engine crankcase while the engine

dipstick while the engine is hot can

cause extremely hot oil to spray out

of the crankcase and can severely

ventilated area. Gasoline fuel and fuel

vapors are extremely flammable and

can ignite under certain conditions.

Maintenance Schedule

Failure to perform periodic

maintenance or not following

maintenance procedures can cause

the generator to malfunction and could

result in death or serious injury.

Periodic maintenance intervals vary depending

on generator operating conditions. Operating the

generator under severe conditions, such as sustained

high-load, high-temperature, or unusually wet or

dusty environments, will require more frequent

periodic maintenance. The intervals listed in the

maintenance schedule should be treated only as a

general guideline.

Following the maintenance schedule is important

to keep the generator in good operating condition.

The following is a summary of maintenance items by

periodic maintenance intervals.

Always maintain proper engine oil level. Failure to

maintain proper engine oil level could result in severe

damage to the engine and/or shorten the life of the

engine.

Always use the specified engine oil. Failure to use the

specified engine oil can cause accelerated wear

and/or shorten the life of the engine.

Engine oil level should be checked before every use.

1. Always operate or maintain the generator on a flat

surface.

2. Stop engine if running.

3. Let engine sit and cool for several minutes (allow

crankcase pressure to equalize).

4. With a damp rag, clean around the oil fill plug/

dipstick.

5. Remove oil fill plug/dipstick (see Figure 31).

6. Check oil level:

When checking the engine oil, remove the oil fill

plug/dipstick and wipe it clean. Thread the oil fill

plug/dipstick all the way back in and then remove

and check the oil level on the oil fill plug/dipstick.

• Acceptable Oil Level - Oil is visible on the cross-

hatches between the H and L lines on the oil fill

plug/dipstick (see Figure 32).

• Low Oil - Oil is below the L line on the oil fill plug/

dipstick.

Adding Engine

1. Always operate or maintain the generator on a flat

surface.

2. Stop engine if running.

3. Let engine sit and cool for several minutes (allow

crankcase pressure to equalize).

4. Thoroughly clean around the oil fill plug/dipstick.

5. Remove oil fill plug/dipstick and wipe clean.

6. Select the proper engine oil as specified in Figure

30.

7. Using the supplied funnel and tube, slowly add

engine oil to the engine. Stop frequently to check

the level to avoid overfilling (see Figure 33).

Remove the oil drain plug (see Figure 34). Once

removed, place the oil drain plug on a clean

surface.

6. Remove the oil fill plug so the oil can drain more

easily from the oil drain port.

7. Allow oil to completely drain.

8. Replace oil drain plug.

9. Fill crankcase with oil following the steps outlined in

Adding Engine Oil on page 30.

8. Continue to add oil until the oil is at the correct

level. See Checking Engine Oil on page 29.

Changing Engine

1. Stop the engine.

2. Let engine sit and cool for several minutes (allow

crankcase pressure to equalize).

3. Place oil pan (or suitable container) under the oil

drain plug.

4. With a damp rag, thoroughly clean around the oil

drain plug.

Never dispose of used engine oil by dumping the

oil into a sewer, on the ground, or into groundwater

or waterways. Always be environmentally

responsible. Follow the guidelines of the EPA or

other governmental agencies for proper disposal

of hazardous materials. Consult local authorities or

reclamation facility.

10. Dispose of used engine oil properly.

FILTER MAINTENANCE

Never use gasoline or other flammable

solvents to clean the air filter. Use only

household detergent soap to clean the

air filter.

Cleaning the Air FiWter

The air filter must be cleaned after every 50 hours of

use or 3 months (frequency should be increased if

generator is operated in a dusty environment).

1. Turn off the generator and let it cool for several

minutes if running.

Move the generator to a flat, level surface.

Turn the release knob at the bottom of the air

cleaner assembly (see Figure 35) counterclockwise

until the air cleaner cover can freely move outward.

Slowly lift up and disengage the top tabs of the air

cleaner cover (see Figure 35). Clean the air cleaner

cover with a clean rag and place on a clean surface.

Pay special attention to the metal backfire plate in

the upper left corner of the air cleaner assembly.

This metal plate must be in its proper position when

installing the foam air filter element (see Figure 37).

Remove the foam air filter element (see Figure 36).

Wash the foam air filter element by submerging

the element in a solution of household detergent

soap and warm water. Slowly squeeze the foam to

thoroughly clean.

NEVER twist or tear the foam air filter element

during cleaning or drying. Only apply slow but firm

squeezing action.

8. Rinse in clean water by submerging the air filter

element in fresh water and applying a slow

squeezing action.

Never dispose of soap cleaning solution used to

clean the air filter by dumping the solution into

a sewer, on the ground, or into groundwater or

waterways. Always be environmentally responsible.

Follow the guidelines of the EPA or other

governmental agencies for proper disposal of

hazardous materials. Consult local authorities or

reclamation facility.

9. Dispose of used soap cleaning solution properly.

10. Dry the air filter element by again applying a slow

firm squeezing action.

11. Return the air filter element to its position in the air

cleaner assembly box. Make sure the metal backfire

plate is in its proper position (see Figure 37).

12. Install the air cleaner cover by re-engaging the tabs

on the top of the air cleaner assembly and then

installing the release knob by turning clockwise

(see Figure 38).

SPARK PLUG MAINTENANCE

The spark plug must be checked and cleaned after

every 1O0 hours of use or 6 months and must be

replaced after 300 hours of use or every year,

Stop the generator and let it cool for several

minutes if running.

Move the generator to a flat, level surface.

Remove the spark plug boot by firmly pulling the

plastic spark plug boot handle directly away from

the engine (see Figure 39).

Clean area around the spark plug.

Using the 13/16" spark plug socket wrench

provided, remove the spark plug from the cylinder

head (see Figure 40).

Never apply any side load or move the spark plug

laterally when removing the spark plug. Applying a

side load or moving the spark plug laterally may crack

and damage the spark plug boot.

6. Place a clean rag over the opening created by the

removal of the spark plug to make sure no dirt can

get into the combustion chamber.

Inspect the spark plug for:

• Cracked or chipped insulator

• Excessive wear

Spark plug gap (the acceptable limit of 0.024 -

0.032 in. [0.60 - 0.80 mm]) (see Figure 41).

If the spark plug fails any one of the conditions

listed above, replace the plug with a Champion

RN9YC plug or equivalent.

Only use the recommended spark plug (Champion

RN9YC or equivalent). Using a non-recommended

spark plug could result in damage to the engine,

Install the spark plug by carefully following the steps

outlined below:

a - Carefully insert the spark plug back into the

cylinder head. Hand-thread the spark plug until

it bottoms out.

b - Using the 13/16" spark plug socket wrench

provided, turn the spark plug to ensure it is fully

seated.

c - Replace the spark plug boot, making sure the

boot fully engages the spark plug's tip.

CLEANING THE GANERATOR

it is important to inspect and clean the generator before

every use.

Clean All Engine Air Inlet and Outlet Ports - Make

sure all engine air inlet and outlet ports are clean of any

dirt and debris to ensure the engine does not run hot

(see Figure 44).

a brush to loosen and remove all dirt on or around the

engine's cooling fins (see Figure 45).

Clean All Alternator Cooling Air Inlets and Exhaust

Ports - Make sure the cooling air inlets and exhaust

ports of the alternator are free of any debris and

obstructions. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt and

debris stuck in the cooling air inlets and exhaust ports

(see Figure 46 and Figure 47).

LONG-TERM STORAGE

Never store a generator with fuel in the

tank indoors or in a poorly ventilated

area where the fumes can come in

contact with an ignition source such

as a: 1) pilot light of a stove, water

heater, clothes dryer or any other gas

appliance; or 2) spark from an electric

appliance.

Gasoline stored for as little as 60 days can go bad,

causing gum, varnish and corrosive buildup in fuel

lines, fuel passages and the engine. This corrosive

buildup restricts the flow of fuel, preventing an engine

from starting after a prolonged storage period.

Proper care should be taken to prepare the generator for

any long-term storage.

Storage Procedure for 1 - 3 Months

1. Clean the generator as outlined in Cleaning the

Generator on page 34.

2. Add a gasoline fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Follow

the recommended procedure of the fuel stabilizer

manufacturer for correct amount of stabilizer to add.

General Cleaning of the Generator - Use a damp rag

to clean all remaining surfaces.

Clean the generator as outlined in Cleaning the

Generator on page 34.

Drain all gasoline from the fuel tank as best as

possible.

With the fuel shutoff valve open, start the engine

and allow the generator to run until all the remaining

gasoline in the fuel lines and carburetor is

consumed and the engine shuts off.

Close the fuel shutoff valve.

Change the oil (see Changing Engine Oil on page

30).

Remove the spark plug (see Spark Plug Maintenance

on page 32) and place about 1 tablespoon of oil

in the spark plug opening. While placing a clean rag

over the spark plug opening, slowly pull the recoil

handle to allow the engine to turn over several times.

This will distribute the oil and protect the cylinder wall

from corroding during storage.

Replace the spark plug (see Spark Plug

Maintenance on page 32).

Move the generator to a clean, dry place for storage.

date of purchase, WESTPRO agrees to repair or replace at WESTPRO's discretion, any defective product free of

charge at any authorized WESTPRO Authorized Service Dealer within the below listed applications, time periods,

limitations, and exclusions. THiS LiMiTED WARRANTY IS EXTENDED TO THE ORiGiNAL PURCHASER ONLY

OWNER'S RESPONSIBIUTY

To ensure trouble free warranty coverage it is important that you register your WESTPRO Westinghouse generator.

You may register on-line at www.westpropower.com, by automated phone at 1-855-944-3571, or by filling out

and returning to WESTPRO the warranty registration card supplied with your generator. Registering your product

confirms your warranty coverage and provides a direct link between you and WESTPRO if we find it necessary to

contact you.

Your receipt for purchase including date, model and serial number must be maintained and presented to a

WESTPRO Authorized Service Dealer for warranty service. Proof of purchase rests solely with you, the or_q__q.inal

You must demonstrate reasonable care and use, and follow preventive maintenance, storage, fuel and oil usage

as prescribed in the operator's manual for your WESTPRO Westinghouse unit. Should a product difficulty occur,

Dealer for warranty repairs (which must occur within the applicable warranty period), and arrange for pick-up or

CONSUMER APPLICATION

For the purpose of this limited warranty "Consumer Application" means usage by the _ purchaser for the

purpose of personal residential household or recreational use.

Parts and labor will be covered at 100% for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase.

Medical and Life Support Uses - This product is not recommended for and is NOT warranted for the use to power

Medical and Life Support equipment or devices,

Prime Power - This warranty does not apply to generators used for Prime Power (primary source of power) in

place of utility power where utility power service is present or where utility power service does not normally exist,

regardless of whether a Consumer Application or Commercial Application is involved,

EXCLUSIONS

• WESTPRO portable generators that utilize non-WESTPRO replacement parts,

• Costs of normal maintenance and adjustments.

Failures caused by any contaminated fuels, oils, or lack of proper oil levels.

Repairs or diagnostics performed by individuals other than WESTPRO authorized dealers not authorized in

writing by WESTPRO.

• Failures due to normal wear and tear, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence or improper use. As with all

mechanical devices, the WESTPRO engines need periodic part(s) service and replacement to perform as

designed. This warranty will not cover repair when normal use has exhausted the life of a part(s) or engine.

• Failures caused by any external cause or act of God, including but not limited to, collision, theft, vandalism,

riot, war, fire, freezing, lightning, earth-quake, windstorm, hail, water, flood, tornado, or hurricane.

• Damage related to rodent and/or insect infestation.

Products that are modified or altered in a manner not authorized in writing by WESTPRO.

• Any incidental, consequential or indirect damages caused by defects in materials or workmanship, or any

delay in repair or replacement of the defective part(s).

• Failure due to misapplication.

• Telephone, cellular phone, facsimile, internet access, or other communication expenses.

• Expenses related to "customer instruction" or troubleshooting where no manufacturing defect is found.

Overnight freight or special shipping costs for replacement part(s).

Overtime, holiday or emergency labor.

Starting batteries, fuses, light bulbs and engine fluids.

DISCLAmMER OF H' PLIED WARRANTIES

This limited warranty is in lieu of all other expressed or implied warranties, including any warranty of FITNESS FOR

A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE and any implied warranty of MERCHANTABiLiTY otherwise applicable to

WESTPRO's Westinghouse line of generators. WESTPRO and its affiliated companies shall not be liable for any

special, incidental or consequential damage, including lost profits. There are no warranties extended other than as

provided herein. This limited warranty may be modified only by WESTPRO. Any implied warranties allowed by law

shall be limited in duration to the terms of the express warranty provided herein. Some states do not allow limitations

on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Some states do not allow the

"fOUR WARRANTY RmGNTS AND OBLIGATIONS

Westpro Power Systems, LLC, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and, for those products

certified for sale in the state of California, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) are pleased to explain the

emission (evaporative and/or exhaust) control system (ECS) warranty on your outdoor 2012 and later small off-road

spark-ignited engine and equipment(outdoor equipment engine). In California, new outdoor equipment engines must

be designed, built and equipped to meet the state's stringent anti-smog standards (in other states, 1997 and later

model year equipment must be designed, built, and equipped to meet the U.S. EPA small off-road, spark ignition

engine regulations). Westpro Power Systems, LLC must warrant the ECS on your outdoor equipment engine for the

period of time listed below provided there has been no abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of your outdoor

equipment engine.

Your ECS may include parts such as the carburetor, fuel-injection system, the ignition system, catalytic converter,

fuel tanks, fuel lines, fuel caps, valves, canisters, filters, vapor hoses, clamps, connectors, and other associated

emission-related components.

Where a warrantable condition exists, Westpro Power Systems, LLC will repair your outdoor equipment

engine at no cost to you including diagnosis, parts and labor.

MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:

This emission control system is warranted for two years. If any emission-related part on your outdoor equipment

engine is defective, the part will be repaired or replaced by a Westpro Power Systems, LLC Authorized Warranty

Service Dealer.

OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSBILITIES:

As the outdoor equipment engine owner, you are responsible for performance of the required maintenance listed in

your owner's manual. Westpro Power Systems, LLC recommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance

on your outdoor equipment engine, but Westpro Power Systems, LLC cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of

receipts or your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled maintenance.

As the outdoor equipment engine owner, you should however be aware that Westpro Power Systems, LLC may deny

you warranty coverage if your outdoor equipment engine or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, or improper

maintenance or unapproved modifications.

You are responsible for presenting your outdoor equipment engine to a Westpro Power Systems, LLC's Authorized

Warranty Service Dealer as soon as the problem exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonable

amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.

DEFECTS WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS

Westpro Power Systems, LLC warrants to the original, end-use purchaser/owner and each subsequent purchaser

that the outdoor equipment engine is:

1. Designed, built and equipped so as to conform with all applicable regulations

2. Free from defects in materials and workmanship that can cause the failure of a warranted part at any time during

the ECS Warranty period.

3. Warranted parts are identical in all material respects to that part as described in Chongqing Zongshen General

Power Machine Co., LTD's application for certification.

The warranty period begins on the date the outdoor equipment engine is delivered to the original, end-use

purchaser/owner or first placed into service. The warranty period is two years.

Subject to certain conditions and exclusions as stated below, the warranty on emission-related parts is as follows:

Any warranted part that is not scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in the written instructions

supplied, is warranted for the warranty period stated above. If the part fails during the period of warranty

coverage, the part will be repaired or replaced by Westpro Power Systems, LLC according to subsection (4)

below. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty will be warranted for the remainder of the period.

Any warranted part that is scheduled only for regular inspection in the written instructions supplied is warranted

for the warranty period stated above. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty will be warranted for

the remaining warranty period.

Any warranted part that is scheduled for replacement as required maintenance in the written instructions

supplied is warranted for the period of time before the first scheduled replacement date for that part. If the part

fails before the first scheduled replacement, the part will be repaired or replaced by Westpro Power Systems,

LLC according to subsection (4) below. Any such part repaired or replaced under warranty will be warranted for

the remainder of the period prior to the first scheduled replacement point for the part.

Repair or replacement of any warranted part under the warranty provisions herein must be performed by a

Westpro Power Systems, LLC Authorized Warranty Service Dealer at no charge to the owner.

The owner must not be charged for diagnostic labor that leads to the determination that a warranted part is in

fact defective, provided that such diagnostic work is performed at a Westpro Power Systems, LLC Authorized

Warranty Service Dealer.

Westpro Power Systems, LLC is liable for damages to other engine or equipment components proximately

caused by a failure under warranty of any warranted part. Throughout the off-road engine and equipment

warranty period stated above, Westpro Power Systems, LLC will maintain a supply of warranted parts sufficient

to meet the expected demand for such parts.

Any authorized Westpro Power Systems, LLC replacement part may be used in the performance of any

warranty maintenance or repairs and must be provided without charge to the owner. Such use will not reduce

the warranty obligations of Westpro Power Systems, LLC.

Add-on or modified parts that are not exempted by the EPA or CARB may not be used. The use of any non-

exempted add-on or modified parts by the original, end use purchaser/owner and each subsequent purchaser/

owner will be grounds for disallowing warranty claims. Westpro Power Systems, LLC will not be liable to warrant

failures of warranted parts caused by the use of a non-exempted add-on or modified part.

The manufacturer issuing the warranty shall provide any documents that describe that manufacturer's warranty

procedures or policies within five working days of request by the CARB.

WARRANTED PARTS:

The repair or replacement of any warranted part otherwise eligible for warranty coverage may be excluded from

such warranty coverage if Westpro Power Systems, LLC demonstrates that the outdoor equipment engine has

been abused, neglected, or improperly maintained, and that such abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance was the

direct cause of the need for repair or replacement of the part. That notwithstanding, any adjustment of a component

that has a factory installed, and properly operating, adjustment limiting device is still eligible for warranty coverage.

Further, the coverage under this warranty extends only to parts that were present on the off-road engine and

equipment purchased.

Siempre debe solicitar ayuda para

levantar el generador. El generador

es pesado, levantarlo puede causarle

lesiones ffsicas.

Evite cortar sobre o cerca de grapas

para evitar lesiones personales.

Herramientas requeridas: trincheta o dispositivo

similar,

Corte con cuidado la cinta de embalar que esta en

la parte superior de la caja.

Pliegue las aletas superiores para dejar a la vista el

manual y las instrucciones del m6dulo de arranque

EZ Start que estan sobre la parte superior de la

unidad. Retire ambos documentos y guArdelos para

consultas.

Saque la caja de cart6n de los accesorios del kit de

las ruedas.

Corte con cuidado dos costados de la caja para

extraer el generador.

Coloque el generador sobre una superficie plana.

Coloque un trozo de cart6n u otro material blando

para inclinar el generador sobre _1,a fin de proteger

la pintura del bastidor y evitar que el generador

se deslice. Incline el generador de costado como

se indica en la Figura 5 (el motor debe estar en la

base).

Coloque tacos de goma en las patas usando los

dos pernos de brida M6 x 18 (vea la Figura 6).

4. Coloque los pies de montaje al bastidor usando los

cuatro pernos M6 x 18 mm y las contratuercas de

cierre M6 (vea la Figura 7).

Coloque el perno de brida del eje de la rueda M12

x 105 mm a trav_s de la rueda (vea la Figura 8).

Enrosque la tuerca de brida dentada M12 al perno

con los bordes dentados orientados en sentido

contrario a la rueda. Ajuste la tuerca (vea la Figura

8).

Coloque las manijas usando el pasador de horquilla

y la chaveta de horquilla. Coloque las arandelas de

nylon en el exterior y el interior de la manija como

se indica en la Figura 10.

Coloque el pasador del eje de 16 mm x 105 mm

por entre el soporte del eje en el bastidor.

Coloque la chaveta de horquilla por entre el

pasador del eje.

Coloque las almohadilla de caucho en el pie de

montaje usando pernos de brida M6 x 18 mm.

Para evitar descargas el_ctricas:

positivo (+) (capuch6n rojo) de la

baterfa cuando conecte los cables de

la baterfa.

SIEMPRE desconecte primero el

cable negativo (-) (capuch6n negro)

de la baterfa cuando desconecte los

cables de la bateria.

* NUNCA conecte el cable negativo

(-) (capuchbn negro) de la baterfa al

terminal positivo (+) de la baterfa.

* NUNCA conecte el cable positivo

(+) (capuchon rojo) de la bateria al

terminal negativo (-) de la baterfa.

* NUNCA conecte ambos terminales de

la baterfa simult_neamente.

* NUNCA coloque una herramienta

met_lica cruzando ambos terminales

de la baterfa.

* SIEMPRE use herramientas aisladas

o no conductoras cuando instale la

baterfa.

NOTA: El generador viene equipado con el cable

de baterfa positivo (capuch6n rojo) ya

conectado.

Verifique que el cable positivo (+) de la bateria

(capuch6n rojo) est_ bien ajustado al terminal

positivo (+) de la bateria. Compruebe que el

capuch6n quede sobre el terminal de la bateria.

Quite con cuidado la envoltura protectora que

rodea la lengeeta del cable negativo (-) de la

bateria (capuch6n negro).

Localice el cable negativo (-) acoplado a cable del

alternador, retire conexi6n y canalice al terminal de

la bateria negativa (-).

Tire hacia atr&s el capuch6n negro y sujete bien el

cable negro (-) de la bateria (capuch6n negro) al

terminal negativo (-) de la bateria como se indica

en la Figura 15.Reponga el capuch6n negro para

que proteja la lengeeta del cable y el terminal de la

bateria.

Nacional (NEC, en ingles), as[ como numerosos

c6digos electricos locales, exigen que se conecte el

generador a tierra antes de su operaci6n. Antes de

poner en marcha el generador, compruebe que este

conectado a tierra conectando el terminal de tierra

del panel de control (vea la Figura 19) a tierra usando

alambre de cobre (10 AWG como m[nimo). Consulte a

un electricista calificado para conocer los requisitos de

conexi6n a tierra locales.

Opere siempre el generador sobre

una superficie nivelada. Si se coloca

un generador sobre superficies que

no est_n niveladas puede tumbarse,

derramando combustible y aceite.

El combustible derramado puede

encenderse si entra en contacto con

una fuente de ignici6n como una

superficie muy caliente.

Antes de encender el generador, controle siempre el

nivel de:

Aceite de motor

Gasolina en el dep6sito de combustible.

Despues de encender el generador y de que se

caliente el motor, no es seguro agregar gasolina al

dep6sito de combustible ni aceite de motor al motor

mientras el motor esta en funcionamiento o mientras el

motor y el silenciador estan calientes.

Procedimiento para controlar y/o

agregar el aceite para motor

Asegerese de que el generador est_

correctamente conectado a tierra

antes de usarlo. El generador se debe

conectar a tierra para evitar descargas

el_ctricas causadas pot artefactos

defectuosos.

La presi6n interna puede acumularse

en el c_rter del motor mientras el motor

est_ en marcha. Si se extrae el tap6n de

Ilenado/la varilla de medici6n del aceite

mientras el motor est_ caliente, se

puede salpicar aceite extremadamente

caliente hacia el exterior del c_rter que

puede producir quemaduras graves en

la piel. Deje que se enfrie el aceite del

motor durante varios minutos antes de

extraer el tap6n de Ilenado/la varilla de

medici6n del aceite.

La unidad como se envfa no contiene aceite en

el motor. Debe agregar aceite del motor antes

de encender el generador pot primera vez. Vea

Procedimiento para controlar el aceite de! motor

en la p_gina 30 y Procedimiento para agregar

el aceite de! motor en la p_gina 31 para obtener

instrucciones sobre el control del nivel de aceite

del motor y el procedimiento para agregar el aceite

del motor.

El generador no contiene aceite de motor cuando

se envia. Si se intenta encender el motor sin

agregarle aceite de motor, se pueden da5ar de forma

permanente los componentes internos del motor.

Instale el tap6n de combustible gir&ndolo en

el sentido de las agujas del reloj hasta que se

escuche un clic que indica que el tap6n esta

completamente instalado.

Procedimiento para agregar gasoHna

dep6sito de combustible

Nunca haga la recarga de combustible

del generador mientras el motor est_

en marcha.

Siempre debe apagar el motor y dejar

que el generador se enfrfe antes de

recargar combustible.

Gasolina requerida: S61o debe usar gasolina que

cumpla con los siguientes requisitos:

Gasolina sin plomo 0nicamente

Gasolina con etanol agregado hasta un m&ximo del

10%

= Gasolina con 87 de octanaje o superior

Procedimiento para cargar el dep6sito de

combustible: Siga los pasos a continuaci6n para

cargar el dep6sito de combustible:

Apague el generador.

Permita que el generador se enfrie de manera que

toda la superficie del silenciador y el motor est_

fresca al tacto.

Traslade el generador a una superficie plana.

Limpie la zona que rodea al tap6n de combustible.

Quite el tap6n de combustible gir&ndolo en sentido

contrario alas agujas del reloj.

Agregue gasolina lentamente dentro del dep6sito

de combustible. Tenga mucho cuidado de no Ilenar

el dep6sito en exceso. El nivel de gasolina NO debe

superar la base del cuello de Ilenado (vea la Figura

20).

Evite el contacto prolongado de la piel

con la gasolina. Evite respirar durante

periodos prolongados los vapores de

la gasolina.

ENCENDIDO DEL GENERADOR

Antes de encender el generador,

revise Seguridad en la p#gina 7.

Antes de intentar encender el generador, verifique Io

El motor se carga con aceite de motor (vea

Procedimiento para contro/ar el aceite del motor en

la pbgina 30).

El generador se ubica en un lugar adecuado (vea

Eleccidn de la ubicacidn en la pbgina 23).

El generador estA sobre una superficie seca (vea

Clima y Superficie seca en la pbgina 23).

Se desconectan todas las cargas del generador (vea

No debe haber cargas conectadas en la pbgina 23).

El generador estA adecuadamente conectado a

fierra (vea Conexidn a tierra del generador en la

pbgina 23).

Nunca use el generador en lugares

mojados o hemedos. Nunca e×ponga

el generador a Iluvia, nieve, rociado

de agua o agua estancada durante el

uso. Proteja el generador de todas las

condiciones clim_ticas peligrosas. La

humedad o el hielo pueden causar un

cortocircuito u otto tipo de problema

de funcionamiento en el circuito

el_ctrico.

Nunca opere el generador en un lugar

cerrado. El escape del motor contiene

rnon6xido de carbono. S61o debe

operar el generador en exteriores

y alejado de ventanas, puertas y

ventilaciones.

2. Mueva la valvula de cierre del combustible hasta la

posici6n ON (encendido) (vea la Figura 22).

El motor cuenta con un interruptor de desconexi6n

por nivel bajo de aceite. Si el nivel del aceite es bajo,

el motor se apagara y no se encendera hasta que se

cargue aceite hasta el nivel adecuado.

AsegQrese de que el motor tenga el nivel de aceite

adecuado antes de usarlo. Si no se verifica que el

motor tenga el nivel de aceite adecuado se podr[a

daSar el motor.

Desconecte todas las cargas del generador antes

de encenderlo. Si no se verifica que todas las

cargas esten desconectadas antes de encender el

generador se podrian da_ar los artefactos que esten

conectados.

Arranque manua deJ generador

NOTA: Este procedimiento tambi_n se puede

utilizar en un generador con arranque

el_ctrico.

1. Compruebe que los diyuntores est_n configurados

adecuadamente (vea la Figura 21).

Tome con firmeza y tire de la manija de retroceso

lentamente hasta que sienta que aumenta la

resistencia. En este punto, d_ un tir6n rApido

mientras tira hacia arriba y alejandose ligeramente

del generador (vea la Figura 25).

Optima y mantenga apretado el interruptor

de control del motor en la posici6n START

(encendido) hasta que el motor arranque. Despu_s

de que se encienda el motor, suelte el interruptor

de control del motor; se mover& automaticamente

a la posici6n RUN (funcionamiento) (vea la Figura

29).

Si no se suelta el interruptor de control del motor

despues del encendido del motor, se podria da_ar

el generador.

Nunca empuje el interruptor de control del motor

hasta la posici6n START (encendido) mientras

el motor esta en marcha; esto podria da_ar el

generador.

NOTA:

Si el motor no arranca despu_s de 5

segundos, suelte el interruptor de control

del motor. Deje que el generador quede

inactivo durante 15 segundos y luego

repita el paso 5. Si la velocidad de arranque

se reduce luego de carla intento fallido, es

posible que la baterfa no est_ bien cargada.

Arranque el generador manualmente

como se indica en Arranque manual del

generador en la pbgina 2&

NOTA:

El generador de arranque el_ctrico est_

equipado con una funci6n de carga de

baterfas. Despu_s de que el motor est_ en

funcionamiento, se suministra una peque_a

carga a la baterfa a tray,s de los cables de

la baterfa y se la recarga lentamente.

Mientras el motor se enciende y estabiliza, mueva

gradualmente la palanca de cebado nuevamente a

la posici6n OFF (apagado).

Funcionamiento norma

Durante el funcionamiento normal, use los siguientes

pasos para detener el generador:

Retire las cargas conectadas de los receptaculos

del panel de control.

Deje que el generador funcione "sin carga" para

reducir y estabilizar las temperaturas del motor y el

alternador.

Oprima el interruptor de control del motor hasta la

posici6n OFF (apagado).

Cambie la v&lvula de cierre del combustible a la

posici6n OFF (apagado).

Durante una emergencia

Si surje una emergencia y se debe detener el

generador rapidamente, optima el interruptor de

control del motor hasta la posici6n OFF (apagado) de

inmediato.

Antes de realizar el mantenimiento

del generador debe revisar

Seguridad en la p#gina 7 y los

siguientes mensajes de seguridad.

Extraiga de la bujfa el capuch6n de

la bujfa de encendido para evitar

encender accidentalmente el generador

durante el mantenimiento. Para los

generadores con arranque el_ctrico,

tambi_n debe desconectar de la baterfa

los cables de la baterfa (desconecte

pdmero el cable negativo (-) de color

negro) y ubique los cables alejados de

los terminales de la baterfa para evitar

la formaci6n de un arco.

Deje que los componentes calientes

se enfrfen al tacto antes de realizar los

procedimientos de mantenimiento.

La presi6n interna puede acumularse

en el c_rter del motor mientras el motor

est_ en marcha. Si se extrae el tap6n de

Ilenado/la varilla de medici6n del aceite

rnientras el motor est_ caliente, se

puede salpicar aceite extremadamente

caliente hacia el exterior del c_rter que

la piel. Deje que se enfrfe el aceite del

motor durante varios minutos antes de

extraer el tap6n de llenado/la varilla de

medici6n del aceite.

Siempre debe realizar el mantenimiento

en una zona bien ventilada. La gasolina

y los vapores del combustible son

extremadamente inflamables y pueden

encenderse en ciertas condiciones.

Evite que la piel est_ en contacto con

el aceite del motor o la gasolina. El

contacto prolongado de la piel con el

aceite del motor o la gasolina puede

set perjudicial. El contacto frecuente

y prolongado con el aceite del motor

puede causar c_ncer de piel. Tome

medidas de protecci6n y utilice

vestimenta y equipos de protecci6n.

Lave con agua y jab6n toda la piel que

haya quedado expuesta.

Cronograma de mantenimiento

Si no se realiza un mantenimiento

peri6dico o no se realizan

procedimientos de mantenimiento el

generador puede funcionar real y podrfa

causar lesiones graves o la muerte.

Los intervalos del mantenimiento periSdico varian

en funciSn de las condiciones de funcionamiento del

generador. Si se usa el generador en condiciones

adversas, como con cargas elevadas sostenidas,

temperaturas elevadas o en entornos inusualmente

hQmedos o con abundante polvo, serA necesario

hacer un mantenimiento periSdico mAs frecuente.

Los intervalos mencionados en el cronograma de

mantenimiento se deben tratar Qnicamente como una

orientaciSn general.

Es importante respetar el cronograma de

mantenimiento para mantener el generador en buenas

condiciones de funcionamiento. A continuaciSn se

incluye un resumen de las tareas de mantenimiento

segQn los intervalos de mantenimiento periSdicos.

Mantenga siempre un nivel de aceite del motor

adecuado. Si no se mantiene el nivel de aceite del

motor adecuado se podria daSar gravemente el

motor y/o acortar su vida Qtil.

Siempre use el aceite del motor especificado. Si no

se usa el aceite del motor especificado se puede

acelerar el desgaste del motor y/o acortar su vida Qtil.

6. Controle el nivel de aceite:

Cuando controle el nivel de aceite, retire el tap6n

de Ilenado/la varilla de medici6n del aceite y

limpielos. Enrosque el tap6n de Ilenado/la varilla

de medici6n del aceite completamente y luego

saquelos para controlar el nivel de aceite del tap6n

de Ilenado/la varilla de medici6n del aceite.

* Nivel de aceite aceptable: se puede ver el aceite

sobre las rayas que hay entre las lineas H (alto)

y L (bajo) del tap6n de Ilenado/la varilla de

medici6n del aceite (vea la Figura 32).

Retire el tap6n de Ilenado/la varilla de medici6n del

aceite y limpielos.

Seleccione el aceite de motor correcto segt3n Io

especificado en la Figura 30.

Usando el embudo y el tubo suministrado, agregue

aceite de motor lentamente al motor. Pare con

frecuencia para controlar el nivel y evitar asi que se

desborde (vea la Figura 33).

Procedimiento para cambiar aceite

motor

1. Pare el motor.

Deje que el motor quede inactivo y se enfrie

durante varios minutos (deje que la presi6n del

carter se equilibre).

Coloque un recogedor de aceite (o un recipiente

adecuado) debajo del tap6n de drenaje del aceite.

Con una tela hQmeda, limpie completamente

alrededor del tap6n de drenaje del aceite.

5. Retire el tap6n de drenaje del aceite (vea la Figura

34). Despu6s de hacerlo, coloque el tap6n de

drenaje del aceite sobre una superficie limpia.

Nunca use gasolina ni otros

disolventes inflarnabies para lirnpiar

el filtro de aire. Debe usar Qnicarnente

detergente para el hogar para lirnpiar el

filtro de aire.

Retire el tap6n de Ilenado del aceite para que el

aceite se pueda drenar mAs fAcilmente del orificio

de drenaje del aceite.

Deje que se drene totalmente el aceite.

Coloque nuevamente el tap6n de drenaje del

aceite.

Llene el carte de aceite siguiendo los pasos que se

detallan en Procedimiento para agregar el aceite

del motor en la p4gina 31.

Limpieza fiJtro de sire

El filtro de aire debe limpiarse despues de 50 horas de

uso o cada 3 meses (se debe aumentar la frecuencia si

el generador funciona en un entorno donde abunda el

polvo).

Apague el generador y d6jelo enfriar durante varios

minutos si esta en funcionamiento.

Mueva el generador hasta una superficie plana y

nivelada.

Gire la perilla de liberaci6n que esta en la base

del conjunto del filtro de aire (vea la Figura 35)

en el sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj hasta

que la cubierta del filtro de aire se pueda mover

libremente hacia afuera.

Levante lentamente y desenganche las aletas

superiores de la cubierta del filtro de aire (vea la

Figura 35). Limpie la cubierta del filtro de aire con

una tela h_meda y col6quela sobre una superficie

limpia.

Nunca deseche el aceite de motor usado arrojandolo

en un desag(Je, en la tierra o en aguas subterraneas

o vfas fiuviales. Siempre debe ser responsable con

el medio ambiente. Siga los lineamientos de la EPA o

de otras agencias gubemamentales para el desecho

adecuado de materiales peligrosos. Consulte alas

autoridades locales o las instalaciones de reciclado.

10. Deseche el aceite de motor usado de manera

adecuada.

Retire el elemento de espuma del filtro de aire (vea

la Figura 36).

Lave el elemento de espuma del filtro de aire

sumergi_ndolo en una soluci6n de detergente para

el hogar y agua caliente. Apriete lentamente la

espuma hasta que quede completamente limpia.

NUNCA tuerza o rasgue el elemento de espuma del

filtro de aire durante la limpieza o el secado. $61o

debe apretarlo lenta pero firmemente.

8. Enjuaguela en agua limpia sumergiendo el

elemento del filtro de aire en agua dulce y

apretandolo lentamente.

Preste especial atenci6n a la placa metalica de

explosiones al carburador que est& en el v@tice

superior izquierdo del conjunto del filtro de aire.

Esta placa metalica debe estar en la posici6n

correcta cuando se instala el elemento de espuma

del filtro de aire (vea la Figura 37).

Nunca deseche la soluci6n jabonosa usada para

limpiar el filtro de aire arrojandola en un desagQe,

en la tierra o en aguas subterraneas o vias fiuviales.

Siempre debe ser responsable con el medio

ambiente. Siga los lineamientos de la EPA o de

otras agencias gubernamentales para el desecho

adecuado de materiales peligrosos. Consulte alas

autoridades locales o las instalaciones de reciclado.

Deseche la soluci6n jabonosa usada de manera

Seque el elemento del filtro de aire apretandolo

firmemente otra vez.

Regrese el elemento del filtro de aire a su posici6n

en la caja del cojunto del filtro de aire. Compruebe

que la placa metalica de explosi6n al carburador

est_ ubicada correctamente (vea la Figura 37).

Coloque la cubierta del filtro de aire enganchando

nuevamente las aletas de la parte superior del

conjunto del filtro de aire y colocando luego la

perilla de liberaci6n gir_ndola en el sentido de las

agujas del reloj (vea la Figura 38).

Se debe controlar y limpiar la bujia de encendido cada

100 horas de uso o 6 meses y se la debe reemplazar

despues de 300 horas de uso o todos los afros.

Detenga el generador y deje que se enfrie durante

varios minutos siesta en funcionamiento.

Traslade el generador hasta una superficie plana y

nivelada.

Retire el capuch6n de la bujia de encendido tirando

firmemente de la manija plAstica del capuch6n de

la bujia, alej&ndolo directamente del motor (vea la

Figura 39)

Limpie la zona que rodea a la bujia de encendido.

Con la Ilave de cubo de 13/16" para bujias

suministrada, retire la bujia de la cabeza del cilindro

(vea la Figura 40).

Nunca debe aplicar una carga lateral ni mover la

bujia hacia los costados cuando extraiga la bujia. Si

se aplica una carga lateral o se mueve la buj[a hacia

los costados se puede agrietar y se puede da_ar el

capuch6n de la bujia.

Coloque una tela limpia sobre la abertura que

se gener6 al extraer la bujia de encendido para

asegurar que no pueda ingresar suciedad en la

cAmara de combusti6n.

7. Inspeccione la bujia de encendido para detectar:

• Si el ais[ador esta agrietado o astillado.

Siesta excesivamente desgastada

Si la separaci6n de la bujia de encendido es

incorrecta (el I[mite que se acepta es de 0,024 -

0,032 pu[gadas [0,60 - 0,80 mm]) (vea la Figura

41).

Si la bujia de encendido tiene algQn problema

en re[aci6n con [as condiciones establecidas

precedentemente, debe reemp[azar[a por una

Champion RN9YC o equivalente.

$6[o debe usar [a bujia de encendido recomendada

(Champion RN9YC o equivalente). Si se uti[iza una

bujia de encendido no recomendada se podria da_ar

el motor.

Es importante inspeccionar y impiar el generador antes

de cada uso.

Limpie todos los orificios de entrada y salida de aire

del motor. Compruebe que todos estos orificios esten

impios y no haya desechos o sucedad a fin de asegurar

que el motor no funcione en HOT (calente) (vea la

Figura 44).

toda la suciedad que haya sobre o alrededor de las

el generador para un almacenamiento de largo plazo.

Procedimiento para almacenar la unidad

Limpie el generador como se indica en Limpieza del

generador en la p&gina 36.

Agregue un estabilizador de gasolina al dep6sito de

combustible. Siga el procedimiento recomendado

del fabricante del estabilizador de combustible para

saber la cantidad correcta de estabilizador que debe

agregar.

Procedimiento para almacenar la unidad

durante m_s de tres meses

Limpie el generador como se indica en Limpieza del

generador en la p&gina 36.

Drene toda la gasolina del dep6sito de combustible

Io mejor posible.

Con la v&lvula de cierre del combustible abierta,

encienda el motor y deje que el generador funcione

hasta que se consuma la gasolina que haya

quedado en las lineas de combustible yen el

carburador y se apague el motor.

4. Cierre la v&lvula de cierre del combustible.

Cambie el aceite (vea Procedimiento para cambiar

el aceite del motor en la p&gina 31).

Retire la bujia de encendido (yea Mantenimiento de

la bujfa de encendido en la p&gina 34) y coloque

aproximadamente 1 cucharada de aceite en la

abertura de la bujia. Mientras coloca una tela limpia

sobre la abertura de la bujia de encendido, tire

lentamente de la manija de retroceso para permitir

que el motor gire varias veces. Asi se distribuir&

el aceite y se proteger& la pared del cilindro de la

corrosi6n durante el almacenamiento.

Coloque nuevamente la bujia (vea Mantenimiento

de la bujfa de encendido en la p&gina 34).

Traslade el generador a un lugar limpio y seco para

almacenarlo.

EXCLUSIONES

Los generadores portb.tiles WESTPRO que utilizan piezas de reemplazo que no son WESTPRO.

Los costos del mantenimiento y los ajustes normales.

Las fallas ocasionadas por combustibles contaminados, aceites o la falta de niveles adecuados de aceite.

Las reparaciones o los diagn6sticos realizados por personas que no son distribuidores WESTPRO

autorizados por escrito por WESTPRO.

Las fallas ocasionadas por el desgaste normal, accidentes, uso indebido, abuso, negligencia o uso

inadecuado. Como todos los dispositivos mecanicos, los motores WESTPRO necesitan un servicio y

Los gastos relacionados con las "instrucciones del cliente" o la detecci6n de problemas cuando no se

encuentran defectos de fabricaci6n.

Los costos de transporte nocturno o de envio especial para el reemplazo de piezas.

Los pagos de horas extras, feriados o trabajos de urgencia.

Las baterias de arranque, los fusibles, las I,;4.mparasy los liquidos para motor.

EXCLUSIONES DE GARANTiAS IMPL/C TAS

DERECHOS Y OBLIGACIONES QUE LE CORRESPONDEN EN VIRTUD DE LA

Westpro Power Systems, LLC, la Agencia de Protecci6n Ambiental (EPA, en ingles) de los Estados Unidos, y, para

los productos certificados para la venta en el estado de California, la Junta de Recursos del Aire de California

(CARB, en ingles) se complacen en explicar la garantia del sistema de control de emisiones (ECS, en ingles) (de

evaporaciones y/o escapes) del motor pequefio encendido por chispa para uso fuera de carreteras del modelo

2012 y posteriores (motor de equipos de exteriores). En California, los nuevos motores de equipos de exteriores

deben disefiarse, construirse y equiparse de manera que cumplan con las rigurosas normas anticontaminaci6n

del estado (en otros estados, los equipos del modelo 1997 y posteriores deben disefiarse, construirse y equiparse

para cumplir con las normativas de la EPA de EE. UU. para los motores pequefios encendidos por chispa para

uso fuera de carreteras). Westpro Power Systems, LLC debe garantizar el ECS del motor del equipo de exteriores

durante el plazo que se menciona a continuaci6n siempre que no haya habido abuso, negligencia ni mantenimiento

inadecuado de dicho motor.

El ECS puede incluir piezas como el carburador, el sistema de inyecci6n de combustible, el sistema de encendido,

el convertidor catalitico, dep6sitos de combustible, lineas de combustible, tapones de combustible, valvulas, botes,

filtros, mangueras de vapor, abrazaderas, conectores y otros componentes relacionados con la emisi6n.

Cuando se presente una circunstancia cubierta pot la garantia, Westpro Power Systems, LLC reparar_ el

motor del equipo de exteriores sin costo para usted, incluido el diagn6stico, las piezas y la mano de obra.

COBERTURA DE LA GARANTiA DBL FABRICANTE:

Este sistema de control de emisiones se garantiza por dos afios. Si alguna pieza del motor del equipo de exteriores

requerido que se menciona en el manual del propietario. Westpro Power Systems, LLC le recomienda conservar

todos los recibos correspondientes al mantenimiento del motor del equipo de exteriores, pero Westpro Power

Systems, LLC no puede negar la garantia s61oporque le falten recibos o porque usted no asegur6 la realizaci6n del

mantenimiento programado.

Como propietario del motor del equipo de exteriores, debe saber sin embargo que Westpro Power Systems, LLC

puede rehusarse a brindarle la cobertura de la garantia si el motor del equipo de exteriores o una pieza fall6 por

abuso, negligencia, mantenimiento inadecuado o modificaciones no autorizadas.

Usted es responsable de presentar el motor del equipo de exteriores ante el Distribuidor de servicio de garantia

autorizado de Westpro Power Systems, LLC tan pronto como surja el problema. Las reparaciones de la garantia

REQUISITOS DE LA GARANTiA DE DEFECTOS

Westpro Power Systems, LLC le garantiza al propietario/comprador final original y a cada comprador posterior, que

el motor del equipo de exteriores:

1. Esta disefiado, construido y equipado para que cumpla con todas las normativas aplicables.

2. Esta libre de defectos en los materiales y la mano de obra que pueden ocasionar la falla de una pieza

garantizada en cualquier momento durante el periodo de la garantia del ECS.

3. Las piezas garantizadas son id_nticas en todos los aspectos materiales a la pieza que se describe en la

solicitud de certificaci6n de Chongqing Zongshen General Power Machine Co., LTD.

Sujetoaciertascondicionesyexclusionescomoseestableceacontinuaci6n,lagarantiadelaspiezas

relacionadasconlasemisioneseslasiguiente:

Toda pieza garantizada que no estA programado que se reemplace conforme al mantenimiento requerido

en las instrucciones escritas suministradas, esta garantizada durante el periodo de garantia establecido

precedentemente. Si la pieza falla durante el plazo de cobertura de la garantia, Westpro Power Systems, LLC la

reparara o reemplazarA de acuerdo con el inciso (4) a continuaci6n. Las piezas reparadas o reemplazadas en

virtud de la garantia se garantizarAn por el resto del periodo.

Las piezas garantizadas que estan programadas s61opara una inspecci6n habitual en las instrucciones escritas

suministradas se garantizan durante el periodo de la garantia establecido precedentemente. Las piezas que se

reparen o reemplacen en virtud de la garantia se garantizarAn por el resto del periodo de la garantia.

Toda pieza garantizada que estA programado que se reemplace conforme al mantenimiento requerido en

las instrucciones escritas suministradas, estA garantizada durante el periodo anterior a la primera fecha de

reemplazo programada para dicha pieza. Si la pieza falla antes del primer reemplazo programado, Westpro

Power Systems, LLC la repararA o reemplazarA de acuerdo con el inciso (4) a continuaci6n. Las piezas que se

reparen o reemplacen en virtud de la garantia se garantizarAn por el resto del periodo anterior al primer punto

de reemplazo programado de la pieza.

La reparaci6n o el reemplazo de una pieza garantizada de acuerdo con las disposiciones de la garantia que

se incluyen en este documento debe Ilevarlas a cabo un Distribuidor de servicio de garantia autorizado de

Westpro Power Systems, LLC sin cargo para el propietario.

AI propietario no se le debe cobrar el trabajo de diagn6stico necesario para determinar que una pieza

garantizada esta de hecho defectuosa, siempre que dicho trabajo de diagn6stico Io realice un Distribuidor de

servicio de garantia autorizado de Westpro Power Systems, LLC.

Westpro Power Systems, LLC es responsable por los dahos a otros componentes del motor o del equipo

causados por una falla durante el plazo de la garantia de una pieza garantizada. Durante todo el plazo de

la garantia del equipo y el motor para uso fuera de carreteras Westpro Power Systems, LLC mantendra un

suministro de las piezas garantizadas que sea suficiente para satisfacer la demanda esperada de tales piezas.

Se puede usar cualquier pieza de reemplazo autorizada por Westpro Power Systems, LLC para Ilevar a cabo el

mantenimiento o las reparaciones de la garantia y se deben suministrar sin cargo para el propietario. Dicho uso

no reducir& las obligaciones de la garantia de Westpro Power Systems, LLC.

No se pueden usar piezas agregadas o modificadas que no est_n exentas por la EPA o CARB. El uso de piezas

modificadas o agregadas no exentas por parte del propietario/comprador final original y de cada propietario/

comprador posterior se considerar& causal para rechazar reclamos de la garantia. Westpro Power Systems,

LLC no ser& responsable de la garantia por las fallas de las piezas garantizadas ocasionadas por el uso de

piezas modificadas o agregadas no exentas.

El fabricante que emite la garantia proporcionara los documentos en los que se describen los procedimientos o

politicas del fabricante en relaci6n con la garantia dentro de los cinco dias h&biles despu_s de que los solicite

la CARB.

PIEZAS GARANTIZADAS:

La reparaci6n o el reemplazo de cualquier pieza garantizada que de otro modo pudiese estar cubierta por la

garantfa puede excluirse de tal cobertura de la garantia si Westpro Power Systems, LLC demuestra que hubo

abuso, negligencia o mantenimiento inadecuado al usar el motor de equipos de exteriores y dicho abuso,

negligencia o mantenimiento inadecuado caus6 directamente la necesidad de reparar o reemplazar dicha pieza.

No obstante Io mencionado precedentemente, cualquier ajuste de un componente que cuenta con un dispositivo

de limitaci6n de ajuste que se instal6 en la fabrica y funciona correctamente sigue estando cubierto por la garantia.

Ademas, la cobertura en virtud de esta garantia se extiende solamente alas piezas que estaban presentes en el

equipo y el motor para uso fuera de carreteras adquiridos.
