General information
Reading and storing the user manual
This user manual accompanies this 13" Laminator and contains
important information on setup and handling. For improved
readability, the 13" Laminator will be referred to only as the “laminator”
below.
Before using the laminator, read the user manual carefully. This particularly
applies to the safety notes. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or
damage to the laminator. Store the user manual for further use. Make sure to
include this user manual when passing the laminator on to third parties.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the
laminator or on the packaging.
DANGER!
This signal symbol / word designates a hazard with a high degree of risk, which
will result in death or severe injury if not avoided.
WARNING!
This signal symbol / word designates a hazard with moderate risk, which may
result in death or severe injury if not avoided.
NOTICE!
This signal word warns of possible damage to property.

The laminator complies with protection class II. The laminator is
equipped with dual protective insulation and therefore contains
no touchable metallic parts, which could conduct voltage in the
event of a fault.

Only use the laminator in indoor areas.
Products bearing the TUVus Certification Mark reflects supplier
commitment and confidence and has been independently
confirmed to meet the minimum requirements of U.S. electrical
safety standards.

The laminator is exclusively designed for laminating. It is only intended for
private use and not suitable for commercial purposes.
Only use the laminator as described in this user manual. Any other use is
considered improper and may result in damage to property.
The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages incurred
through improper or incorrect use.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed including the following. Read all
instructions.
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
A faulty electrical installation, excessive line voltage or incorrect
operation may result in an electric shock.
− Only connect the laminator in indoor areas and only to a
properly installed 120V socket with a protective conductor.
− Only connect the laminator to an easily accessible socket
so that you can quickly disconnect it from the grid in case
of a failure.
− Do not operate the laminator if it is visibly damaged or if
the power cable or power plug is defective.

− If the power cable of the laminator is damaged, the
manufacturer, its customer service team or a person with
similar qualifications must replace it.
− Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified
professional perform the repairs. Contact the service
address provided on the warranty card. Liability and
warranty claims are waived in the event of repairs or
conversions performed by the user, improper connection
of the device or incorrect operation.
− Only parts that comply with the original device data may
be used for repairs. Electrical and mechanical parts, which
are essential for providing protection against sources of
danger, are located in this laminator.
− Do not operate the laminator with an external timer or
separate telecontrol system.
− To protect against the risk of electrical shock, do not
immerse the laminator, the power cable or power plug in
water or other liquids.
− Never touch the power plug with damp hands.
− Do not perform any other work (such as cleaning) on the
laminator while it is operating.
− Never pull the power plug out of the socket by the power
cable; instead, always do so by taking hold of the power
plug.
− Never use the power cable as a carrying handle.
− Keep the laminator, power plug and power cable away
from open flames and hot surfaces.
− Lay the power cable so that it does not pose a tripping
hazard.
− Do not kink the power cable and do not lay it over sharp
edges. Do not let power cable hang over edge of table or
counter.
− Only use the laminator in indoor areas. Do not use it in wet
rooms or in the rain.
− Never store the laminator so that it is at risk of falling into a
bath tub or washbasin.

− Never reach to retrieve the laminator if it has fallen in
water. In such a case, immediately disconnect the power
plug.
− Make sure that children do not insert any objects into the
laminator.
− Always switch the laminator off and pull the power plug
out of the socket
• when you are not using the laminator,
• before you clean the laminator,
• if a fault occurs,
• in the event of a storm.
− Do not modify the plug in any way. The laminator has
a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician.
WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with impaired physical,
sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled
persons, older persons with reduced physical and mental
capacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g.
older children).
− This laminator may be used by children from the age of
eight as well as persons with impaired physical, sensory
or mental capacities or those lacking experience and
knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed
in how to safely use the laminator and have understood
the risks associated with operating it. Children must not
play with the laminator. Cleaning and user maintenance
must not be performed by unsupervised children.
− Keep children under eight years of age away from the
laminator and power cable.

− Do not leave the laminator unattended while it is
operating and do not perform any other activities during
operation.
− Do not allow children to play with the packaging wrapper.
Children may get caught in it when playing and suffocate.
− Keep the laminator away from pets.
− Clearly advise other users of the risks.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the laminator may damage the
laminator.
− Place the laminator on an easily accessible, level, dry,
heat-resistant and sufficiently stable work surface. Do not
place the laminator on the edge of the work surface.
− Avoid the build-up of heat by not placing the laminator
directly up against a wall or under cupboards or similar.
− Protect the laminator from direct sunlight.
− Never place the laminator on or near hot surfaces (e.g.
stovetops, heaters etc.).
− Ensure that the power cable does not come into contact
with hot parts.
− Never expose the laminator to high temperatures (heaters
etc.) or to the effects of the weather (rain etc.).
− Never fill the laminator with liquid.
− Never attempt to clean the laminator by immersing
it in water and do not use a steam cleaner to clean it.
Otherwise, you could damage the laminator.
− Never laminate damp documents or organic objects (e.g.
flowers, leaves etc.).
− Do not cut the laminating pouches into pieces before
laminating and do not in any case cut off the sealed edges
from the laminating sheets.
− Stop using the laminator if its plastic parts exhibit cracks or
breaks or are deformed. Only replace damaged parts with
corresponding original spare parts.

− Only laminate at room temperature (approx. 50–77 °F or
10–25°C).
− Never insert metallic objects (e.g. paper clips, staples
etc.) or objects other than laminating pouches which are
intended for this laminator into the laminating pouch
infeed slot.
− The laminator has vents. Never cover them with other
objects such as magazines, blankets or similar.

Checking the laminator and product contents
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a
sharp knife or other pointed objects, you may easily damage the
laminator.
− For this reason, be very careful when opening the
packaging.
1. Take the laminator out of the packaging.
2. Check whether the laminator or the individual parts exhibit damage. If
this is the case, do not use the laminator. Contact the manufacturer at the
service address specified on the warranty card.
3. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see Fig. A).
Setting up the laminator
1. Position the laminator so that there is enough space to insert a laminating
pouch

. Do not position the laminator directly in front of a wall or other
objects.
2. Connect the power plug to a properly installed socket with a protective
conductor (120V = house connection).
Activating ⁄ deactivating the laminator
1. Switch the multi-function switch

to “I” (COLD) to switch the laminator on
for cold lamination (see Fig. C).
2. Move the multi-function switch to “II” (HOT) to switch the laminator to hot
lamination.
The READY indicator with thermo-transfer-technology

will
turn from blue to red once the laminator has reached the correct
temperature for hot lamination. The preheating time may vary
depending on the ambient temperature and air humidity.
3. Move the multi-function switch to “O” (OFF) to switch the laminator off.

Improper handling of the laminator may result in injury.
− If an object (sleeves, tie etc.) is unintentionally taken into
the pouch infeed slot, immediately disconnect the power
plug.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the laminator may result in damage.
− Do not in any case laminate documents with a treated
surface, such as fax thermopaper or Polaroid pictures, and
papers with surfaces that may be altered through heat
should only be laminated using cold lamination.
− Only use one pouch per lamination, as pouches may stick
tightly together.
− Do not leave any laminating pouches in or next to the
laminator after lamination.
When using the laminator, a slight odour may be produced. Ensure
there is sufficient ventilation in the room, e.g. by opening windows.
Hot lamination
1. Move the multi-function switch

to “II” (HOT) to switch the laminator on
and operate it in hot mode.

2. Place the document that you wish to laminate between the two sides of the
laminating pouch

. Ensure that it lies flush with the closed edge.
3. Insert the laminating pouch closed-edge first into the pouch infeed slot

laminating pouch in and move it to the pouch output slot

the laminator. Do not use force to pull out the laminating pouch.

4. Move the multi-function switch to “O” (OFF) to switch the laminator off.
5. Let the laminating pouch cool off briefly.
Repeat the process if the laminating pouch has not adequately
adhered to the document.
Cold lamination
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the laminator may result in damage.
− After hot lamination, allow the laminator to cool down
sufficiently (approx. 20–30 minutes) before you use the
laminator for cold laminating.
− Make sure that only laminating pouches intended
specifically for cold lamination are used.

to “I” (COLD) to switch the laminator on
and operate it in cold mode.

2. Place the document that you wish to laminate between the two sides of the
laminating pouch. Ensure that it lies flush with the closed edge.
3. Insert the laminating pouch closed-edge first into the pouch infeed slot

on the back of the laminator. The heating rollers will automatically pull the
laminating pouch in and move it to the pouch output slot

on the front of
the laminator. Do not use force to pull out the laminating pouch.

Removing a jammed laminating pouch
The laminator is equipped with an antiblocking system. If the laminating pouch
was not inserted straight or it becomes jammed in the laminator, push the
ABS switch

towards the left (see Fig. B). You can then take the laminating
pouch out of the laminator while holding down the ABS switch and reinsert the
document in a new laminating pouch into the pouch infeed slot

.

The laminator will become hot during operation and may cause

− Always let the laminator cool off completely before you
clean it!
NOTICE!
Risk of short circuit!
Water that has penetrated the housing may cause a short circuit.
− Never submerge the laminator in water.
− Make sure that no water penetrates the housing.

Risk due to improper operation!
Improper handling of the laminator may result in damage.
− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal
or nylon bristles, as well as sharp or metallic cleaning
utensils such as knives, hard scrapers and the like. They
could damage the surfaces.
Cleaning the laminator
1. Disconnect the power plug before cleaning.
2. Let the laminator cool off completely.
3. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the laminator. Then let all parts dry completely.
Cleaning the heating rollers
1. Move the multi-function switch

to “II” (HOT) to switch the laminator on
and operate it in hot mode.
2. Fold a sheet of paper and insert it, folded-edge first, into the pouch infeed
slot

3. Keep repeating this process until no more glue deposits cling to the paper.

Disposing of the packaging
− Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and
cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrappings with appropriate
collection service.

Dear Customer,
The ALDI warranty offers you extensive benefits compared to the statutory
obligation arising from a warranty:
Warranty period: 3 years from date of purchase.
6 months for wear parts and consumables under
normal and proper conditions of use (e.g. rechargeable
batteries).
Costs: Free repair / exchange or refund.
No transport costs.
ADVICE: Please contact our service hotline by phone, e-mail
or fax before sending in the device. This allows us to
provide support in the event of possible operator errors.
In order to make a claim under the warranty, please send us:
• together with the faulty item, the original receipt and the warranty
card properly completed.
• the faulty product with all components included in the packaging.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
• Accident or unanticipated events (e.g. lightning, water, fire).
• Improper use or transport.
• Disregard of the safety and maintenance instructions.
• Other improper treatment or modification.
After the expiry of the warranty period, you still have the possibility to have
your product repaired at your own expense. If the repair or the estimate of
costs is not free of charge you will be informed accordingly in advance.
This warranty does not limit the statutory obligation of the seller arising from
a warranty. The period of warranty can only be extended in accordance with
a legal standard. In countries where a (compulsory) warranty and / or spare
part storage and / or a system for compensation are / is required by law, the

¡Riesgo de descarga eléctrica!
Una instalación eléctrica defectuosa, un voltaje de línea
excesivo o un funcionamiento incorrecto pueden provocar una
descarga eléctrica.
− Conecte la plastificadora únicamente a tomas de corriente
de 120V con contacto de puesta a tierra debidamente
instaladas en interiores.
− Conecte la plastificadora solo a una toma de corriente bien
accesible, para que, en caso de incidente, la plastificadora
pueda desenchufarse rápidamente.
− No use la plastificadora si presenta daños visibles o si el
cable o enchufe de red están defectuosos.
− Si el cable de red de la plastificadora está dañado, debe
ser sustituido por el fabricante, el servicio al cliente o una
persona de cualificación similar.
− No abra la carcasa; permita que sea reparada por
técnicos especializados. Diríjase a la dirección de servicio
indicada en la tarjeta de garantía. Si realiza reparaciones
o modificaciones por su cuenta, se conecta de forma
inadecuada o utiliza incorrectamente el equipo, se
perderá todo derecho a garantía.
− Para las reparaciones, solo se permitirá usar aquellas pie-
zas que coincidan con los datos originales del equipo. En
esta plastificadora hay piezas eléctricas y mecánicas im-
prescindibles para la protección contra riesgos diversos.
− No use la plastificadora con un reloj programador externo
ni con un sistema de telecontrol aparte.
− Para protegerse frente al riesgo de descarga eléctrica, no
sumerja la plastificadora, el cable de red ni el enchufe de
red en agua u otros líquidos.
− Nunca toque el enchufe de red con las manos húmedas.
− Durante el funcionamiento, no haga nada más con la
plastificadora (p. ej. limpieza).

− Nunca tire del cable del enchufe de red para
desconectarlo de la toma de corriente; agarre siempre el
enchufe de red.
− Nunca use el cable de red como asa de transporte.
− Mantenga la plastificadora, el enchufe de red y el cable de
red alejados del fuego abierto y de superficies calientes.
− Tienda el cable de red de forma que no provoque traspiés.
− No doble el cable de red, y no lo tienda por bordes
afilados. No deje que el cable de red cuelgue fuera de la
mesa o encimera.
− Utilice la plastificadora sólo en interiores. Nunca la emplee
en locales húmedos ni en condiciones de lluvia.
− No guarde nunca la plastificadora de forma que pueda
caerse en una bañera o en un lavabo.
− Nunca agarre la plastificadora si se ha caído al agua. En tal
caso, desconecte inmediatamente el enchufe de red.
− Procure que los niños no inserten objetos en la
plastificadora.
− Apague siempre la plastificadora y desconecte el enchufe
de red de la toma de corriente
• si no usa la plastificadora,
• antes de limpiar la plastificadora,
• si se da una avería,
• en caso de tormenta.
− No modifique el enchufe de ninguna manera. La
plastificadora tiene un enchufe polarizado (una clavija es
más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descarga
eléctrica, este enchufe solo se podrá insertar de una
manera en una toma de corriente polarizada. Si el enchufe
no encaja bien en la toma de corriente, dele la vuelta al
enchufe. Si sigue sin encajar, contacte con un electricista
cualificado.

− Evite la acumulación de calor, no colocando la
plastificadora directamente en una pared o debajo de
armarios colgantes o similares.
− Proteja la plastificadora de la radiación solar directa.
− Nunca coloque la plastificadora encima o cerca de
superficies calientes (p. ej. placas de cocina, calefacción,
etc.).
− El cable de red no debe entrar en contacto con piezas
calientes.
− La plastificadora no ha de exponerse nunca a altas
temperaturas (calefacción, etc.) o inclemencias
meteorológicas (lluvia, etc.).
− Nunca llene la plastificadora con líquido.
− No intente nunca limpiar la plastificadora sumergiéndola
en agua ni use un limpiador a vapor para limpiarla. Si no,
podría dañar la plastificadora.
− Nunca plastifique documentos mojados ni objetos
orgánicos (p. ej. flores, hojas, etc.).
− Antes de plastificar, no recorte las fundas de plastificar ni
corte los bordes sellados de las fundas de plastificar.
− No utilice la plastificadora si sus componentes de
plástico tienen grietas o fisuras, o se han deformado. Los
componentes dañados solo deben sustituirse por piezas
de repuesto originales y adecuadas.
− Plastifique solo a temperatura ambiente (aprox. 50–77 °F
o 10–25°C).
− Nunca introduzca en la entrada de las fundas de plastificar
objetos metálicos (p. ej. grapas, clips, etc.) u otros objetos
que no sean fundas de plastificar previstas para la
plastificadora.
− La plastificadora posee ranuras de ventilación. Nunca
las cubra con otros objetos como periódicos, mantas o
similares.

Primera puesta en servicio
Comprobar la plastificadora y el volumen de
suministro
¡AVISO!
¡Riesgo de daños!
Si abre el embalaje con un cuchillo afilado o con otros objetos
puntiagudos sin tener cuidado, la plastificadora puede
dañarse rápidamente.
− Al abrir el embalaje, proceda con sumo cuidado.
1. Saque la plastificadora de su embalaje.
2. Compruebe si la plastificadora o las piezas individuales presentan daños. Si
está dañada, no utilice la plastificadora. Contacte con el fabricante a través
de la dirección de servicio técnico indicada en la tarjeta de garantía.
3. Compruebe si el suministro está completo (véase la fig. A).
Colocar la plastificadora
1. Ubique la plastificadora de forma que quede suficiente espacio para
introducir una funda de plastificar

. No ponga la plastificadora justo
delante de una pared ni de otros objetos.
2. Conecte el enchufe de red a una toma de corriente debidamente instalada
con contacto de puesta a tierra (120V = conexión doméstica).
Encender ⁄ Apagar la plastificadora
1. Sitúe el interruptor multifunción

en “I” (COLD) para encender la
plastificadora en el modo de plastificación en frío (véase la fig. C).
2. Pase el interruptor multifunción a “II” (HOT) para que la plastificadora pase al
modo de plastificación en caliente.
El indicador READY con tecnología de transferencia térmica

pasará de azul a rojo cuando se alcance la temperatura
adecuada para la plastificación en caliente. El tiempo de
precalentamiento puede variar según la temperatura ambiental
y la humedad del aire.
3. Para apagar la plastificadora, sitúe el interruptor multifunción en “O” (OFF).

La manipulación errónea de la plastificadora puede provocar
lesiones.
− En caso de que un objeto (manga, corbata, etc.) entre sin
querer en la entrada de las fundas de plastificar, tire del
enchufe de red de inmediato.
¡AVISO!
¡Riesgo de daños!
Un manejo inapropiado de la plastificadora puede provocar
daños.
− Nunca plastifique documentos con superficies tratadas
(p. ej. papel de fax o térmico, fotografías de Polaroid, etc.).
Los papeles con superficies que se puedan ver alteradas
con el calor se debería plastificar únicamente con
plastificación en frío.
− Utilice siempre solo una funda de plastificar en cada
proceso de plastificación. Las fundas de plastificar se
pueden adherir entre sí.
− Tras la plastificación, no deje ninguna funda de plastificar
dentro ni cerca de la plastificadora.
Al usar la plastificadora, se puede generar un ligero olor. Procure
suficiente ventilación en la habitación, p. ej. abriendo ventanas.
Plastificación en caliente

llevan hasta la salida de las fundas de plastificar

la plastificadora. No tire con fuerza de la funda de plastificar.
4. Para apagar la plastificadora, sitúe el interruptor multifunción en “O” (OFF).
5. Deje que la funda de plastificar se enfríe un poco.
Si la funda de plastificar no se ha adherido bien al documento,
repita el proceso.
Plastificación en frío
¡AVISO!
¡Riesgo de daños!
Un manejo inapropiado de la plastificadora puede provocar
daños.
− Tras la plastificación en caliente, deje que la plastificadora
se enfríe suficientemente (unos 20–30 minutos) antes de
emplearla para la plastificación en frío.
− Asegúrese de utilizar solo fundas de plastificar previstas
específicamente para la plastificación en frío .

Extraer la funda de plastificar atascada
La plastificadora está equipada con un sistema antibloqueo. Si no ha
introducido recta la funda de plastificar o si esta se atasca en la plastificadora,
mueva el interruptor ABS

a la izquierda (véase la fig. B). Puede sacar la
funda de plastificar de la plastificadora manteniendo presionado el interruptor
ABS, y volver a insertar el documento en una nueva funda de plastificar dentro
de la entrada de las fundas de plastificar

Limpieza

La plastificadora se calienta durante su funcionamiento y
puede provocar lesiones.
− Antes de cada limpieza, deje que la plastificadora se enfríe
por completo.
¡AVISO!
¡Riesgo de cortocircuito!
El agua que haya entrado en la carcasa puede provocar un
cortocircuito.
− No sumerja nunca la plastificadora en el agua.
− Asegúrese de que no entre agua en la carcasa.

Un manejo inapropiado de la plastificadora puede provocar
daños.
− No utilice productos de limpieza agresivos, cepillos
con cerdas de nylon o metálicas, ni objetos de limpieza
afilados o de metal, como cuchillos, estropajos metálicos y
similares, pues podrían provocar daños en las superficies.

Limpiar la plastificadora
1. Antes de la limpieza, saque el enchufe de red.
2. Deje enfriar la plastificadora por completo.
3. Limpie la plastificadora con un paño ligeramente humedecido. Deje después
que todos los componentes se sequen del todo.
Limpiar los rodillos térmicos
