instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

R600a or R134a can be used as a refrigerant. Check the compressor label on the rear of
the appliance and the rating label inside the fridge to see which refrigerant is used for the
refrigerator.

• Do not install the refrigerator in a damp place or place where it may come in contact
with water.
- Deteriorated insulation of electrical parts may cause an electric shock or fire.
• Do not install this appliance in a humid, oily or dusty location, in a location exposed to
direct sunlight and water (rain drops).
• Do not place this refrigerator in direct sunlight or expose to the heat from stoves, room
heaters or other appliance.
• Do not plug several appliances into the same multiple power board. The refrigerator
should always be plugged into its own individual electrical board which has a voltage
rating that matched the rating plate.
- This provides the best performance and also prevents overloading house wiring circuits,
which could cause a fire hazard from overheated wires.
• If the wall socket is loose, do not insert the power plug.
- There is a risk of electric shock or fire.
• Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along its length or at either end.

Most power failures that are corrected in an hour or two will not affect your refrigerator
temperatures. However, you should minimize the number of door openings while the power is off.

- Your appliance is frost free, which means there is no need to manually defrost your
appliance, as this will be carried out automatically.
- Temperature of frozen food during defrosting can shorten its storage life.
- The appliance might not operate consistently (possibility of defrosting of contents or
temperature becoming too warm in the frozen food compartment) when sited for an
extended period of time below the cold end of the range of temperature for which the
refrigerating appliance is designed.
- Temperature rising during the defrost can comply ISO requirement. But if you want to
prevent an undue rise in the temperature of the frozen food while defrosting the appliance,
please wrap the frozen in several layers of newspaper.
- The fuse on refrigerator must be changed by a qualified technician or service company.

First things first! Make sure that you can easily move your refrigerator to its final location by measuring
doorways (both width and height), thresholds, ceilings, stairways, etc.

• Allow clearance to the right, left, back and top when installing. This will help reduce power
consumption and keep your energy bills lower.
• Make sure you disconnect the water supply line BEFORE removing the freezer door.
To avoid damage, refer to ‘Separating the water line from the refrigerator’ in the manual
(page 12).
SETTING UP THE REFRIGERATOR
Now that you have your new Refrigerator installed in place, you are ready to set up and enjoy the features and
functions of the appliance. By completing the following steps, your Refrigerator should be fully operational.
If not, first check the power supply and electricity source or try the troubleshooting section at the back of
this user’s guide. If you have any further questions, contact your Samsung Electronics service center.
1. Place the Refrigerator in an appropriate location with reasonable clearance between the wall and the
Refrigerator. Refer to installation instructions in this manual.
2. Once the Refrigerator is plugged in, make sure the interior light comes on when you open the doors.
3. Set the Temperature control [Refer to ‘Freezer/Fridge(Temperature adjustment)’, page 21] to the coldest
temperature and wait for an hour. The Freezer will get slightly chilled and the motor will run smoothly.
4. After powering the Refrigerator, it will take a few hours to reach the appropriate temperature. You can
store food and drinks in the Refrigerator after the temperature is sufficiently cool.
5. Assemble the water line to the refrigerator and verify that the couplers are correctly assembled without
water leakage. (Refer to ‘Installing the water line, page 17~18)

If your entrance won’t allow the refrigerator to pass easily through it, you can remove the doors.
Tools you will need

First, open both the freezer and refrigerator doors, and then take o the front leg cover by turning the
three screws counter-clockwise.

Removing the freezer door
Make sure that you lift the door straight up so the hinges are not bent or broken.
Be careful not to pinch the water tubing and wire harness on the door.
Place doors on a protected surface to prevent scratching or damage.
With the Freezer door closed, remove the upper hinge cover

using a screwdriver, and then

LEVELING THE REFRIGERATOR
Now that the doors are back on the refrigerator, you want to make sure the refrigerator is level so that you can
make nal adjustments. If the refrigerator is not level, it will not be possible to get the doors perfectly even.
The front of the refrigerator is also adjustable.
Before leveling the refrigerator, remove the front leg cover
Open both the freezer and fridge doors, and then take o the front leg cover by turning the three
screws counter-clockwise.
When the Freezer part is lower than the Fridge part.
Insert a at-blade screwdriver into a slot on the Freezer Leg, then turn it clockwise.
When the Fridge part is lower than the Freezer part.
Insert a at-blade screwdriver into a slot on the Fridge Leg, then turn it clockwise.
Refer to the next section for the best way to make very minor adjustments to the doors.

MAKING MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO THE DOORS
Remember, a level refrigerator is necessary for getting the doors perfectly eve n. If you need help, review the
previous section on levelling the refrigerator.
When the door of the freezer is higher
than the fridge
Open the doors and adjust them, one at a time, as follows:
1. Unscrew the nut

CHECKING THE WATER DISPENSER LINE
A water dispenser is one of the helpful features on your new Samsung Refrigerator. To help promote
better health, the Samsung water lter removes unwanted particles from your water. However, it
does not sterilize or destroy microorganisms. You may need to purchase a water purifying system to
do that.
In order for the ice maker to operate properly, a water pressure of138~862 Kpa is required.
Under normal conditions, a 170 cc (5.75 oz.) paper cup can be lled in 10 seconds.
If the Refrigerator is installed in an area with low water pressure (below 138Kpa), you can install a
booster pump to compensate for the low pressure.
Make sure the water storage tank inside the Refrigerator is properly lled. To do this, press the water
dispenser lever until the water runs from the water outlet.
Water line installation kits are include with unit. You can nd it in freezer drawer.

1. First, shut o the main water supply line.
2. Locate the nearest cold, drinking water line.
3. Follow the Water line Installation Instructions in the installation kit.
4. After connecting the water supply to the water lter, turn your main water supply back on and
dispense about 3L to clear and prime the water lter.
The water line must be connected to the cold water pipe. If it is connected to the hot water
pipe, it may cause the purier to malfunction.

Connecting the water line to the refrigerator
1. Remove the cap from water line on the unit and insert compression nut to the water line on the
unit after disassembling from provided water line.
2. Connect both water line from the unit and water line in the kit.
3. Tighten the compression nut onto the compr

4. Turn water on and check for any leakage.

If you have to repair or disassemble the water line, cut o

USING THE CONTROL PANEL
Freezer/Fridge (Temperature adjustment)
Press the Freezer or Fridge button until the desired temperature is set.
For lower temperature, press the Freezer or Fridge button until more LED lights (coldest).
For higher temperature, press the Freezer or Fridge button until less LED lights (cold).
Each time you press the Freezer or Fridge button, temperature indicator will change in below order.
Lighting
This icon will light up when you activate the Lighting function. In this case, the dispenser light (under
the display) will be on constantly. If you would like the dispenser light to come on only when using the
dispenser, tur
by pressing the Lighting button.
Power Freeze
This icon will light up when you activate the Power Freeze function. Power Freeze function generates
cool air for 72 hours continuously and it makes the inside of the refrigerator cool faster. This function
is useful when you make ice more quickly. When you have enough, just press and hold the Freeze
(Hold 3 sec for Power Freeze) button again for 3 seconds to cancel the Power Freeze function.
When you use this function the energy consumption of the refrigerator may increase. Remember
to tur
when you do not need it and return the freezer to your original temperature setting.
Child Lock
This icon will light up when you activate the Lock function. In this case, you will not be able to use the
control panel. If you press and hold the Energy Saver (Hold 3 sec for Child Lock) button again for
3 seconds, you will be able to use the control panel again.
Power Cool
This icon will light up when you activate the Power Cool function. Power Cool function is great for a
quick fridge cool down. If you activate the Power Cool function, inside temperature of the Fridge will
decrease for about two and a half hours.
In some places, water drop may be generated on the door part. In this case, it is recommended

outlet and push against the dispenser pad until hearing the “click” sounds.

and fajitas.
• In order to prevent odor penetration to the ice, stored food

Door Bins

Can be used to store frozen food.
Freezer Drawer
Best used for storing meat or other frozen items. For safe keeping,
stored food should be wrapped securely using foil or other suitable
wrapping materials or containers.

Fruit & Vegetable Drawer
Used to preserve the freshness of your stored vegetables and fruits.
Door Bin
Designed to handle large, bulky items such as gallons of milk or other

Glass Shelf
Designed to be crack-resistant. They can be used to store food and
drinks. Circular marks on the glass surface are a normal phenomenon
and can usually be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Snack Bin
Can be used to store deli items separately.
Dairy Bin
Can be used to store smaller dairy items like butter or margarine,
yogurt or cream-cheese bricks.
Bottles should be stored tightly together so that they do not tip and fall out when the refrigerator door is
opened.

CLEANING THE REFRIGERATOR
Caring for your Samsung Side-By-Side Refrigerator prolongs the life of your appliance and helps keep it odor
and germ-free.
Cleaning the Interior
Clean the inside walls and accessories with a mild detergent and then
wipe dry with a soft cloth. You can remove the drawers and shelves for
a more thorough cleaning. Just make sure to dry them before putting
them back into place.
Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the digital panel and display panel with a clean, soft cloth.
(Especially top part of the digital panel.) Spray water onto the cleaning
cloth instead of spraying directly on the surface of the refrigerator. This
helps ensure an even distribution of moisture to the surface. The doors,
handles and cabinet surfaces should be cleaned with a mild detergent
and then wiped dry with a soft cloth.
To keep your appliance looking its best, the exterior should be polished
once or twice a year.
Do not use Benzene, Thinner or Clorox™ for cleaning.
They may damage the surface of the appliance and can
create a risk of re.
Cleaning the rubber door seals
If the rubber door seals are dirty, the doors may not close properly, and the
refrigerator will not operate eciently. Keep the door seals free of grit or
grime by cleaning the doors with a mild detergent and damp cloth.
Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth.
Do not spray the refrigerator with water while it is plugged in,
as it may cause an electric shock. Do not clean the refrigerator with
benzene, thinner or car detergent as there is a risk of re.

INSTALACIÓN DE SU REFRIGERADOR
Ahora que tiene su nuevo refrigerador instalado y en su lugar, esta preparado para instalar y disfrutar de las
características y de las funciones del electrodoméstico. Terminando los pasos siguientes, su refrigerador debe
ser completamente operacional. Si no, el primer punto a revisar es la toma de electricidad o revise la sección de
solución de problemas en la parte final de este manual de usuario. Si usted tiene alguna otra pregunta, entre en
contacto con su centro de servicio de Samsung Electronics.
1. Coloque el refrigerador en un lugar apropiado con la separación razonable entre la pared y el refrigerador.
Revisar las instrucciones de instalación en este manual.
2.
Una vez que conecte el refrigerador, cerciórese de que la luz interior encienda en cuando usted abre las puertas.
3. Observe el control de la temperatura y espere una hora. El congelador conseguirá enfriado levemente y el
motor funcionará suavemente.

CHEQUEO DE LA LÍNEA DE AGUA DEL DISPENSADOR
Un dispensador es sólo una de las características útiles de su nuevo refrigerador Samsung.
Para fomentar una mejor salud, el ltro de agua Samsung elimina partículas no deseadas del agua.
Sin embargo, no esteriliza ni destruye microorganismos. Para lograr esto último, debe adquirir un
sistema puricador de agua. Para que la máquina de hielo funcione correctamente, es necesaria
una presión de agua de 138~862 kPa. En condiciones normales, un vaso de papel de 170 cc
(5,75 onzas) debe poder llenarse en 10 segundos.
Si el refrigerador es instalado en una zona con presión de agua baja (por debajo de 138 kPa), puede
instalar una bomba auxiliar para compensar la falta de presión.
Asegúrese de que el depósito de almacenamiento de agua situado en el interior del refrigerador esté
adecuadamente lleno. Para hacerlo, pulse la palanca del dispensador de agua hasta que el líquido
salga a través de la salida.
Los conjuntos de instalación de la línea de agua están incluidos con la unidad. Puede
encontrarlos en la gaveta de la nevera.

Eliminación de cualquier sustancia residual del interior de la toma de
suministro de agua tras la instalación del ltro de agua
1. Abra el suministro de agua principal.
2. Presione el botón de agua y presione la palanca del despachador.
Referierase a “Revisando el panel de control” en el manual (Página 20).
3. Deje correr 3 galones de agua a través del ltro antes de su uso,
(Deje correr aproximadamente 6 minutos.)
Limpiará el sistema de suministro de agua y eliminará aire de los conductos.
4. Algunos hogares podría necesitarse una descarga mayor.
5. Abra la puerta del refrigerador y asegúrese de que no existen fugas
de agua procedentes del ltro.
Asegúrese de enjuagar a fondo el dispensador, de lo contrario el
agua podría gotear. Esto signica que aún queda aire la toma.
Revisé la cantidad de agua suministrada a la bandeja de hielos
1. Levante y extraiga la cubierta de la Máquina de hielo en el congelador.
2. Al pulsar el botón de prueba durante 3 segundos,
el contenedor de cubitos de hielo se llena con
agua del suministro de agua del grifo.
Ponga un recipiente antes de pulsar el botón de
prueba y de vericatión para asegurarse de que
la cantidad de agua es correcta (vea la ilustración).
Si el nivel del agua es demasiado bajo, los cubitos
de hielo serán pequeños. Esto no es un problema
con la máquina de hielo, sino de la presión del agua
en la tubería.
3. En caso de que no salga el hielo, sacar el cubo de hielo y
el botón de prueba de la prensa localizó en el fondo de la máquina del hielo.

Si usted sale de vacaciones o viaje de negocios o no necesita usar el refrigerador,
presione el botón “Vacation”. Cuando seleccione el botón Vacation para el
compartimento del refrigerador OFF, el LED de Vacation estará encendido.
Se solicita fuertemente que remueva los alimentos del compartimiento Fresh-food y no deje la puerta
abierta del refrigerador cuando seleccione la función Vacation.

Refrigerador/Congelador(Ajuste de temperatura)
Oprimir el botón Freezer o Fridge hasta alcanzar la temperatura deseada.
Para mayor temperatura, oprima el botón Freezer o Fridge hasta que prendan más las luces de LED (Más Frío).
Para menor temperatura, oprima el botón Freezer o Fridge hasta que se apaguen las luces de LED (Frío).
Cada vez que presione el botón Freezer o Fridge , el indicador de temperatura cambiará como las imágenes de abajo.
Lighting
Este icono prendera cuando active la función de Lighting. En este caso, la luz del despachador (Abajo
de la pantalla) será constante. Si a usted le gusta que la luz se active únicamente cuando se use el
despachador apague la función Lighting presionando el botón Lighting .
Power Freeze
Este icono se encenderá cuando usted active la función de la Power Freezer. La función de la Power Freezer
genera aire fresco por 72 horas continuamente y hace que el interior del refrigerador este más fresco. Esta
función es útil cuando usted hace hielo rápidamente. Cuando usted tiene bastantes, mantenga presionado
el botón de Freezer (Hold 3 sec for Power Freezer) otra vez por 3 segundos para cancelar esta función.
Cuando usted use esta función el consumo de energía del refrigerador puede incrementarse.
Recuerde apagar esta función cuando no la necesite y regrese el congelador a su temperatura establecida.
Child Lock
Este icono prenderá cuando active la función de Lock. En este caso usted no podrá usar el panel de
control. Si usted presiona y mantiene oprimido el botón de Energy Saver (Hold 3 sec for Child Lock)
nuevamente por 3 segundos podrá volver a usar el panel de control.
Power Cool
Este icono prenderá cuando active la función de Power Cool. La función Power Cool es ideal para
enfriar rápidamente el congelador. Si activa esta función la temperatura dentro del congelador podrá
disminuir alrededor de dos horas y media.
En algunas ocasiones, se puede presentar goteo de agua en las puertas. En este caso, se
recomienda apagar la función de ahorro de energía.

Vacation
Si usted sale de vacaciones o viaje de negocios o no necesita usar el refrigerador, presione el botón
“Vacation”. Cuando seleccione el botón Vacation para el compartimiento del refrigerador OFF, el

USANDO EL DESPACHADOR DE HIELO Y AGUA FRÍA.
Usando el despachador de Agua
Presione el botón Water en el panel de control. Ponga su vaso de agua
en el tubo de salida y presione otra vez el PAD del despachador hastar
escuchar el sonido “click”. Asegurarse que el vaso (GLASS) está alineado
con el despachador para prevenir que el agua se salpique.
Para obtener agua fría
- El agua despachada es fría, no helada.
- Cuando quieres agua más fría con hielo, despacha primero el hielo en
tu vaso, después llenalo con agua para prevenir salpicar.
Usando el despachado de hielo
Presiona el botón Ice Type para seleccionar el tipo de hielo que quieras. Coloca tu vaso bajo la
salida de hielo y presiona nuevamente despacio el PAD del dispenser. Asegúrate de que el vaso
esté alineado con el despachador para prevenir que el hielo rebote. Cuando el cubo de hielo es
seleccionado antes de estar usando el hielo triturado, puede producirse un poco de hielo triturado.

El Refrigerador Samsung Side-By-Side ha sido diseñado con características y funciones para

Con el n de prevenir la penetración de olor en el hielo, la comida
almacenada debe ser envuelta de forma segura.

Pueden ser usados para paquetes pequeños de comida congelada.
Parrillas Metálicas
Pueden ser usadas para comida congelada.
Cajón del Congelador
Es el mejor usado para almacenar carne u otras cosas congeladas.
Para mayor seguridad, la comida almacenada debe ser envuelta de
forma segura usando papel aluminio u otro material envolvente o
contenedor adecuado.
Almacenando Comida en el Refrigerador
Cajó n d e Frutas & Verduras
Usado para conservar la frescura de tus frutas y verduras
almacenadas.
Compartimientos en Puerta
Diseñados para manejar grandes artículos voluminosos como son
galones de leche u otras botellas grandes y contenedores.
Parrillas de Vidrio
Diseñadas para ser resistente a las grietas. Pueden ser usadas
para almacenar comida y bebidas. Las marcas circulares sobre la
supercie del vidrio son un fenómeno normal y pueden ser limpiadas
con un trapo húmedo.
Compartimientos de
Botanas
Pueden ser usados para almacenar artículos delicados por separado.
Compartimientos de lácteos
Pueden ser usados para almacenar pequeños artículos lácteos como
mantequilla o margarina, yogurt o barras de queso crema.
Las botellas deben ser almacenadas muy juntas para que no se inclinen y se caigan cuando la puerta del
refrigerador este abierta.
Si planeas salir por un tiempo signicativo, vacíe el refrigerador y apáguelo. Limpie el exceso de
humedad en el interior del aparato y deje las puertas abiertas. Esto ayudará a evitar el mal el olor y el
desarrollo del moho.
Si el refrigerador no es usado por un periodo de tiempo largo, desconectar el enchufe de alimentación.
- El deterioro en el cable de alimentación puede causar un incendio.

LIMPIANDO EL REFRIGERADOR
Cuidados para prolongar la vida de tu Refrigerador Samsung Side-By-Side y ayudar a mantenerlo libre de olor y
gérmenes.
Limpiando el Interior
Limpiar las paredes internas y accesorios con un detergente suave
y después secar con una prenda suave. Puedes quitar los cajones y
parrillas para un limpiado más exhaustivo. Asegúrate que estén secos
antes de ponerlos en su sitio.
Limpieza del Exterior
Limpia el panel digital y la pantalla con un trapo suave y limpio.
(Especialmente la parte superior del panel digital). Rocía agua encima
del trapo limpiador en lugar de rociarla directamente en la supercie
del refrigerador. Esto ayudará a asegurar que una distribución pareja
de humedad en la supercie. Las puertas, agarraderas y supercies
del gabinete deben ser limpiadas con un detergente suave y después
secadas con un trapo suave. Para mantener la mejor apariencia de tu
aparato, el exterior debe ser pulido una o dos vece por año.
No use Benceno, Thinner o Clorox™ para el limpiado. Pueden
dañar la supercie de su aparato y crear un riesgo de incendio.
Limpiando el sello de las Puertas
Si el sello de goma de la puerta esta sucio, las puertas no pueden cerrar
apropiadamente, y el refrigerador no operará ecientemente. Mantener
el sello de la puerta libre de espuma o mugre, limpiando las puertas con
un detergente suave y un trapo húmedo. Secar con un trapo limpio y
suave.
No rociar el refrigerador con agua mientras este conectado,
eso puede causar una descarga eléctrica. No limpiar el
refrigerador con benceno, thinner o detergente de carro,
ya que existe un riesgo de incendio.
Cambiando el LED de iluminación.
No desensamblar o remplazar el LED de tipo de iluminación. Para cambiar el LED de
iluminación, contactar a un centro de servicio Samsung.

¿Al refrigerador le da directamente la luz del sol o esta junto a una fuente de calor?
¿El respaldo del refrigerador esta muy cerca de la pared y por lo tanto
reteniendo la circulación del aire?
Vericar si la función de cooling o está encendida. Si el indicador de
temperatura del Congelador/Refrigerador esta movido, regrese a la pág. 22
para cancela la función de cooling o.
La comida en la nevera
esta congelada.
¿El control de temperatura en la pantalla del panel muestra la temperatura correcta?
Intenta colocar en una temperatura más cálida.
¿La temperatura en el compartimento es muy baja?
¿Almacenaste los alimentos con alto contenido de agua en la parte más fría de la nevera?
Escuchas ruidos o
sonidos extraños.
Verica que el refrigerados este nivelado y estable.
-¿El respaldo del refrigerador esta muy cerca de la pared y por lo tanto
reteniendo la circulación del aire?
-¿Se cayó algo detrás o debajo del refrigerador?
Un sonido de “tic-tac” se escucha de adentro del refrigerador. Esto es normal
y se produce porque varios accesorios se están contrayendo o expandiendo
en relación a la temperatura del interior del refrigerador.
Las esquinas frontales del
aparato están calientes
y esta ocurriendo
condensación.
Algo de calor es normal ya que anti-condensación son instalados en las
esquinas frontales del refrigerador para prevenir la condensación.
-¿La puerta del refrigerador esta entre abierta? La condensación puede ocurrir
cuando dejas la puerta abierta por un tiempo largo.

¿Esperaste 12 horas después de la instalación de suministro agua a la línea antes
de hacer hielo?
¿Está la línea de agua conectada y abierto la llave de la válvula?
¿Detuviste manualmente la función de hacer hielo? Asegúrate que Ice Type
está colocado en Cubed or Crusher.
¿Hay algo de hielo bloqueando dentro del cubo de la máquina de hielos?
¿La temperatura del congelador es muy cálida? Intenta escoger una temperatura
más baja del congelador.
Escuchas burbujeo
