Important User Information
• Screen Image retention
Avoid displaying a still image, such as an image from a video game or a small fixed channel logo, on the plasma display panel for more than a few
minutes as it can cause screen image retention. This image retention is also known as “screen burn”.
If displaying a still image is unavoidable, decrease the possibility of image retention by reducing the brightness and contrast of the screen.
• Heat on the top of the Plasma TV
The top side of the TV may become hot after long periods of use as heat dissipates from the panel through the vent hole in the upper part of the TV.
This is normal and does not indicate any defect or operational failure of the unit. However, children should be prevented from touching the upper part
of the TV.
• The TV is making a ‘cracking’ noise.
A ‘cracking’ noise may occur when the TV contracts or expands due to a change in the surrounding environment such as temperature or humidity.
This is normal and not a defect.
• Cell Defects
Your plasma TV has a panel containing 2,360,000 (HD-level) to 6,221,000 (FHD-level) pixels which require sophisticated technology to produce.
However, there may be a few bright or dark pixels on the screen. These pixels will have no impact on the performance of the product.
• Avoid operating the TV at temperatures below 41°F (5°C)
• A still image displayed too long may cause permanent damage to the PDP Panel.
Watching the Plasma TV in 4:3 format for a long period of time may leave traces of the borders on the left, right, top, or bottom of the screen.
Playing a DVD or a game console may have a similar effect.
Damage caused by the above effect is not covered by the warranty.
• After-images on the Screen.
Displaying still images from Video games and PC's for longer than a certain period of time may produce partial after-images.
To prevent this effect, reduce the ‘brightness’ and ‘contrast’ when displaying still images for a long time.
• Warranty
Warranty does not cover any damage caused by image retention.
Burn-in is not covered by the warranty.
• Caution
The glass screen of your PDP TV can break if you accidently drop the TV. Handle the TV with care.
When moving the TV, always have two or more people pick it up and carry it as a safety precaution. Do not lay the TV flat on its face or
back.
Your Samsung Plasma TV is a high quality television that has been carefully packaged to protect the integrity of its glass panel and component parts during
shipment. It is, nonetheless, a fragile piece of electronics that requires careful handling. Refrain from putting undue stress on any part of the packaging when
shipping or unpacking the TV. Use care when installing the TV. Avoid placing the TV in a location where it may be struck, exposed to sharp impacts, or fall.
Panel breakage caused by a fall or impact strike is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.
Providing Proper Ventilation for Your TV
When you install your TV, maintain a distance of at least 4 inches between the TV and other objects (walls, cabinet sides, etc.) to ensure
proper ventilation. Failing to maintain proper ventilation may result in a fire or a problem with the product caused by an increase in its
internal temperature.

• If you use parts provided by another manufacturer, it may cause difficulties with the product or result in injury caused by the

Making Connections
Connect your TV to an antenna or cable connection, and then connect your peripherals. When done, connect the power cord to the TV,
and then connect the power cord to an AC wall outlet. If you are connecting your TV to a cable or satellite box using HDMI, Component,
or Composite connections, you do not need to connect the ANT IN jack to an antenna or a cable connection.
• For the best picture and audio quality, connect digital devices using an HDMI cable.
• If you connect an external device to the TV that uses an older version of HDMI, the video and audio may not work. If this occurs, ask the manufacturer of the
device about the HDMI version and, if it is out of date, request an upgrade.
• Be sure to purchase a certified HDMI cable. Otherwise, the picture may not display or a connection error may occur.
• PC/DVI AUDIO IN input is not supported.
• For a set-top box connection using an HDMI cable, we highly recommend you connect the cable to the HDMI IN 1(STB) port.
• For an HDMI to DVI cable connection, you must use the HDMI IN 2(DVI) jack.
• If you connect a device to the HDMI IN 2(DVI) port using an HDMI to DVI cable, the audio will not work. DVI does not transmit audio. You must add a separate
audio connection.
• For PCs with DVI video out jacks, use an HDMI to DVI cable to connect the DVI out on the PC to the HDMI IN 2(DVI) jack on the TV. Use the PC's speakers for
audio.

Display Modes for HDMI Input
The optimal resolution for the 4 series TVs is 1024 x 768@60Hz. For the 5 series, 1920 x 1080@60Hz. If you connect the TV to a device
such as a PC or Set-Top-Box using an HDMI input, we recommend that you set the video output of that device to the optimal resolution of
the TV. If that is not possible, you can set the device to one of the resolutions listed below.

Changing the Input Source
Source
When you are watching TV and you want to watch a movie on your DVD player or Blu-ray player or switch to your cable
box or STB satellite receiver, you need to change the Source.
1. Press the SOURCE button on your remote.
2. Select a desired external input source.

You can only choose external devices that are connected to the TV. In the Source list, connected inputs are
highlighted.
How to Use Edit Name
Edit Name lets you associate a device name to an input source, for example, Blu-ray to HDMI 1 To access Edit Name, press the TOOLS
button when the Source list is displayed. The following selections appear under Edit Name:
VCR / DVD / Cable STB / Satellite STB / PVR STB / AV Receiver / Game / Camcorder / PC / DVI PC / DVI Devices / TV / IPTV /
Blu-ray / HD DVD / DMA
Select the name of the device connected to each input jack to make your input source selection easier. When you view the Source list,the
device name and the input jack will be displayed together.

If you have connected a PC to the HDMI IN 2(DVI) port with an HDMI cable, select PC under Edit Name to enter a device name.

If you have connected a PC to the HDMI IN 2(DVI) port with an HDMI to DVI cable, select DVI PC under Edit Name to enter a
device name.

If you connected an AV device to the HDMI IN 2(DVI) port with an HDMI to DVI cable, select DVI Devices under Edit Name to
enter a device name.

Configuring the Basic Settings in Initial Setup
When you turn the TV on for the first time, a sequence of screens and on-screen prompts will assist you in configuring the TV’s basic
settings. Plug the power cord into a wall outlet, and then press the POWER button to turn on the TV. Configure your TV's basic settings in
the initial setup by following the instructions on your TV's screen.

Setup is available only when the Source is set to TV.

If you are not using a cable box or satellite box, make you sure have connected the TV to an antenna or cable connection before
you turn on the TV.

Using the TV’s Controller (Panel Key)
The TV’s Controller, a small joy stick like button on the rear left side of the TV, lets you control the TV without the remote control. To open
a function and view it on the screen or select a setting displayed on the screen, push the controller backwards, forwards, left, or right. To
confirm a setting after you have selected it, press up on the Controller.

To close the Menu, Media Play, or Source screens, press the Controller for more than 1 second.

When selecting a function by moving the controller backwards, forwards, left, or right, be sure not to press the controller. If you
press it first, it will not operate properly when you move it.

Standby mode
Your TV enters Standby mode when you turn it off and continues to consume a small amount of electric power. To be safe and to
decrease power consumption, do not leave your TV in standby mode for long periods of time (when you are away on vacation, for
example). It is best to unplug the power cord.
Your TV’s Main and Tools menus contains functions that let you
control the TV’s features. For example, in the Main menu you can
change the size and configuration of the picture, its brightness, its
contrast and so on. There are also functions that let you control
the TV’s sound, channel configuration, energy use, and a host of
other features. To access the main, on-screen menu, press the
MENU (
m
) button on your remote. To access Tools menus, press
the TOOLS button. Tools menus are available when the TOOLS
menu Icon is displayed on the bottom right of the screen.
The illustration below displays the buttons on the remote you use
to navigate the menus and select and adjust different functions.

E-MANUAL button on your remote. Move the cursor using the right/left buttons to highlight a main category. Use

Troubleshooting
If the TV seems to have a problem, first review this list of possible problems and solution. Also review the Troubleshooting
Section in the e-Manual. If none of the troubleshooting tips apply, visit www.samsung.com/support or call Samsung customer
Service.
Issues Solutions and Explanations
Flickering and Dimming If your Samsung Television is flickering or dimming sporadically, you may need to disable some
of its energy efficient features like the Eco Sensor or the Energy Saving feature. Follow the
steps below with your remote to turn these features off or on.
• Energy Saving: User Menu → System → Eco Solution → Energy Saving
• Eco Sensor: User Menu → System → Eco Solution → Eco Sensor
Component Connections / Screen
Color
If you find that the color on your Samsung television’s screen is not correct or black and white,
first run a Self Diagnosis on the TV to make sure there are no device issues.
• Self Diagnosis: User Menu → Support → Self Diagnosis → Picture Test
If the problem does not appear in the Test Picture, making sure :
• Your connections are all consistent. For example, if you’ve used the AV In jack on your TV,
make sure you have used the AV Out jack on your video source.
• You have connected your devices to the correct jacks. For example, if you use the
Component jacks, labeled Pb, Pr, and Y, to connect your TV and video source, make sure
you have connected the blue Pb jack on the video source to the blue Pb jack on the TV, the
red Pr jack on the source to the red Pr jack on the TV, and the yellow Y jack on video source
to the yellow Y jack on the TV.
Screen Brightness If you find that the colors on your Samsung TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright, try
adjusting the following settings in the Picture option of the Main menu:
• Cell Light, Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Color, Tint (G/R) and so on.
Unwanted Powering Off If your Samsung TV appears to turn off by itself, there may be an issue with either your Timer
settings or your Eco friendly No Signal Power Off feature.
First make sure the Sleep Timer is not accidentally set. The sleep timer turns the TV off after a
certain period of time.
• Sleep Timer: User Menu → System → Time → Sleep Timer
If the Sleep Timer is not activated, you may have engaged the No Signal Power Off or Auto
Power Off feature. To turn these features off, follow the steps below with your remote.
• No Signal Power Off : User Menu → System → Eco Solution → No Signal Power Off
• Auto Power Off: User Menu → System → Eco Solution → Auto Power Off
Trouble Powering On Before you turn the TV on, find the red light on the bottom right or left of your TV. Press
the power button on the TV or remote. The light should blink about 5 times before the TV
turns on.
If you find that you are having trouble powering on your Samsung television, there are a number
of things to check before making a call to the service department.
• If you happen to be using the TV as a monitor and the stand-by light only blinks for a few
seconds when you press the power button, your PC is in sleep mode. To take your PC out
of sleep mode, press a key on your keyboard or move the mouse. Then try turning your TV
on.
If you’re sure your power cord, remote control, and PC are functioning properly, you may be
having a cable issue. If you have a cable or satellite box, your TV may appear to be off because
the cable or satellite box is not outputting a signal. To test the signal output of your cable or
satellite box, press the guide or info button on the cable or satellite box remote control. If the
screen displays the guide or info data, the problem is caused by the box.
Cannot Find a Channel Re-run Setup (Go to Menu - System - Setup) or run Auto Program. (Go to MENU -
Broadcasting - Auto Program).

Poor picture
First, perform the Picture Test and to see if your TV is properly displaying the test image.
• Go to MENU - Support - Self Diagnosis - Picture Test
If the test image is properly displayed, the poor picture may be caused by the source or
signal.
The TV image does not look as good
as it did in the store.
Store displays are typically tuned to digital, HD (high definition) channels.
• If you have an analog cable/satellite box, upgrade to a digital set top box. Use HDMI or
Component cables to deliver HD (high definition) picture quality.
• Cable/Satellite subscribers: Try HD channels from the channel line up.
• Air/Cable Antenna connection: Try HD channels after performing an Auto program.
✎ Many HD channel programs are up scaled from SD (Standard Definition) content. Look
for a channel that is broadcasting true HD content.
• Adjust the Cable/Set top box video output resolution to 1080i or 720p.
The picture is distorted: macroblock
error, small block, dots, pixelization.
• The compression of video contents may cause picture distortion, especially in programs
with fast moving pictures such as sports programs and action movies.
• A weak signal can cause picture distortion. This is not a TV problem.
• Mobile phones used close to the TV (within 3.3 ft) may cause noise in the picture on analog
and digital channels.
Color is wrong or missing. • If you’re using a Component connection, make sure the component cables are connected
to the correct jacks. Incorrect or loose connections may cause color problems or a blank
screen.
There is poor color or brightness. • Adjust the Picture options in the TV menu. (go to Picture Mode / Color / Brightness /
Sharpness)
• Adjust the Energy Saving option in the TV menu (go to MENU - System - Eco Solution -
Energy Saving)
• Try resetting the picture to the default picture settings. (go to MENU - Picture - Reset
Picture)
There is a dotted line on the edge of
the screen.
• If the picture size is set to Screen Fit, change it to 16:9.
• Change the cable/satellite box resolution.
The picture is black and white. • If you are using an AV composite input, connect the video cable (yellow) to the Green jack of
Component input 1 on the TV.
When changing channels, the picture
freezes or is distorted or delayed.
• If the TV is connected to a cable box, reset the box. (Disconnect and then reconnect the AC
cord, and then wait until the cable box reboots. It may take up to 20 minutes.)
• Set the output resolution of the cable box to 1080i or 720p.
Sound Problem
First, perform the Sound Test to determine if your TV audio is operating properly.
• Go to MENU - Support - Self Diagnosis - Sound Test
If the audio is OK, the sound problem may be caused by the source or signal.
There is no sound or the sound is too
low at maximum volume.
• Please check the volume of the device (Cable/Sat Box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to
your TV.
The picture is good but there is no
sound.
• Set the Speaker Select option to TV Speaker in the Sound menu.
• If you are using an external device, check the device’s audio output option (Ex. You may
need to change your cable box’s audio option to HDMI if you have the box connected to
your TV using an HDMI cable.).
• If you are using a DVI to HDMI cable, a separate audio cable is required.
• Reboot the connected device by disconnecting and then reconnecting the device’s power
cable.
The speakers are making an
inappropriate noise.
• Check the cable connections. Make sure a video cable is not connected to an audio input.
• For Antenna or Cable connections, check the signal information. A weak signal may cause
sound distortion.
• Perform the Sound Test as explained above.

No Picture, No Video
The TV will not turn on. • Make sure the AC power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet and the TV.
• Make sure the wall outlet is working.
• Try pressing the POWER button on the TV to make sure the problem is not the remote
control. If the TV turns on, refer to ‘Remote control does not work’ below.
The TV turns off automatically. • Ensure the Sleep Timer is set to Off in the System menu.
• If your PC is connected to the TV, check your PC's power settings.
• Make sure the AC power cord is plugged in securely to the wall outlet and the TV.
• When you are watching TV programs from an antenna, the TV will turn off after 10 - 15
minutes if there is no signal.
There is no picture/video. • Check the cable connections. (Remove and reconnect all cables connected to the TV and
external devices).
• Set your external device’s (Cable/Sat Box, DVD, Blu-ray etc) video outputs to match the
connections to the TV input. For example, if an external device’s output is HDMI, it should
be connected to an HDMI input on the TV.
• Make sure your connected devices are powered on.
• Be sure to select the TV’s correct source by pressing the SOURCE button on the remote
control.
• Reboot the connected device by disconnecting and then reconnecting the device’s power
cable.
Antenna(Air / Cable) Connection
The TV is not receiving all channels. • Make sure the coaxial cable is connected securely.
• Run Auto Program to add available channels to the channel list. There are 3 options, STD,
HRC and IRC. Most cable systems use STD.
• Verify the antenna is positioned correctly.
No Caption on digital channels. • Check the Caption Setup menu. Try changing Caption Mode Service1 to CC1.
• Some channels may not have caption data.
The picture is distorted: macroblock,
error, small block, dots, pixelization.
• The compression of video contents may cause picture distortion, especially in programs
with fast moving pictures such as sports programs and action movies.
• A weak signal can cause picture distortion. This is not a TV problem.
Others
Purple/green rolling horizontal bars
and buzzing noise from the TV
speakers with Component cable
connection.
• Remove the left and right audio connections from the set-top-box. If the buzzing stops, this
indicates that the set-top-box has a grounding issue. Replace the Component video cables
with an HDMI connection.
Plasma TV is making humming noise. • Plasma TVs typically make a soft humming sound. This is normal. It’s caused by the
electrical charges that are used to create the images on the screen.
• If the humming sound is loud, you may have set the brightness on the TV too high. Try
setting the brightness lower.
• You can also have loud humming if the back of your Plasma TV is too close to a wall or
other hard surface. Also try rerouting your connection cables.
• Improper installation of the wall mount can create excessive noise.

The picture will not display in full
screen.
• HD channels will have black bars on either side of the screen when displaying up scaled
SD (4:3) contents.
• Black bars will appear on the top and bottom of the screen when you watch movies that
have aspect ratios different from your TV.
• Adjust the picture size option on your external device or change the TV to full screen.
Image Retention (Burn In) Issue. • To minimize the possibility of screen burn, this unit is equipped with Pixel Shift screen burn
reduction technology. Pixel Shift lets you set the picture so it moves slightly up and down
(Vertical Line) and side to side (Horizontal Dot). The regular, slight movement of the picture
reduces screen burn in.
The remote control does not work. • Replace the remote control batteries. Make sure you insert them with the plus and minus
ends in the correct direction.
• Clean the transmission window located on the top of the remote control.
• Try pointing the remote control directly at the TV from 5~6 feet away.
The cable/set top box remote control
does not turn the TV on or off, or
adjust the volume.
• Program the Cable/Set top box remote control to operate the TV. Refer to the Cable/Set
top box user manual for the SAMSUNG TV code.
A “Mode Not Supported” message
appears.
• Check the supported resolution of the TV and adjust the external device’s output resolution
accordingly. Refer to resolution settings in this manual.
Caption on the TV menu is greyed
out.
• You cannot select Caption in the TV menu when watching content from a device
connected via HDMI or Component.
• Caption must be activated on the external device.
There is a plastic smell from the TV. • This smell is normal and will dissipate over time.
TV Signal Information is unavailable
in the Self Diagnosis Test menu.
• This function is only available for digital channels the TV receives from an Antenna / RF/
Coax connection.
TV is tilted to the right or left side. • Remove the stand base from the TV and reassemble it.
The Broadcasting menu is greyed
out (unavailable).
• The Broadcasting menu is only available when you select the TV source.
Your settings are lost after 30 minutes
or every time the TV is turned off.
• If TV is in the Store Demo mode, it will reset audio and picture settings every 30 minutes.
If you want to change the settings from Store Demo mode to Home Use, press the
SOURCE button to select TV mode, and go to MENU → Support → Use Mode.
You have intermittent loss of audio
or video.
• Check the cable connections and reconnect them.
• Loss of audio or video can be caused by using overly rigid or thick cables. Make sure the
cables are flexible enough for long term use. If mounting the TV to the wall, we recommend
using cables with 90 degree connectors.
The PIP menu is not available. • PIP functionality is only available when you are using an HDMI or Component source.
You see small particles when you
look closely at the edge of the frame
of the TV.
• This is part of the product’s design and is not a defect.
The POP (the TV’s internal banner ad)
appears on the screen.
• Go to MENU → Support → Use Mode, and then select Home Use.
The message “This file may not be
played properly.” appears.
• This may appear because the content has a high bit rate. The content generally will play,
but could experience some playability issues.

If you mount this product on a wall, it should be mounted only as recommended by the manufacturer. Unless it is correctly

The wall mount kit (sold separately) lets you mount the TV on the wall. For detailed information about installing the wall mount, see the

Securing the TV to the Wall
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing onto the TV may cause the TV to fall. In particular, ensure that your children do
not hang over or destabilize the TV; doing so may cause the TV to tip over, resulting in serious injuries or death. Follow all
safety precautions provided on the included Safety Flyer. For added stability, install the anti-fall device for safety purposes,
as follows.
To avoid the TV from falling
Since the necessary clamps, screws, and string are not supplied, please
purchase these additionally.
1. Drive the screws into the clamps and firmly fasten them onto the wall.
Make sure the screws are firmly fixed into the wall.
2. Remove the screws from the centre back of the TV, put the screws into
the clamps, and then fasten the screws onto the TV again.
3.
Connect the clamps fixed onto the TV and the clamps fixed onto
the wall with a strong string and then tie the string tightly.

Verify all connections are properly secured. Periodically check
connections for any sign of fatigue for failure. If you have
any doubt about the security of your connections, contact a
professional installer.

Install the TV near to the wall so that it does not fall backwards.

It is safe to connect the string so that the clamps fixed on the
wall are equal to or lower than the clamps fixed on the TV. Untie

Anti-theft Kensington Lock
A Kensington Lock is a device you can use to physically fix
your TV in place when using it in a public place. You wrap the
Kensington Lock’s cable around a large, immobile object and then
attach the lock to the Kensington slot on the back of the TV.
The appearance and locking method may differ from the illustration
below depending on the manufacturer. Refer to the manual
provided with the Kensington Lock for additional information on
proper use. The Kensington Lock is not supplied by Samsung.

Información importante para el usuario
• Retención de imágenes en la pantalla
Evite visualizar una imagen fija, como por ejemplo la de un videojuego o el pequeño logotipo de un canal, en el panel de plasma durante varios
minutos, ya que podría causar una retención de imágenes en la pantalla. Esta retención de imagen también se conoce como "desgaste de
pantalla".
Si no puede evitar mostrar una imagen fija, disminuya el riesgo de retención reduciendo el brillo y el contraste de la pantalla.
• Calor en la parte superior del TV de plasma
La parte superior del televisor puede calentarse tras un uso prolongado ya que el calor se disipa desde el panel a través de los orificios de
ventilación de la parte superior del aparato.
Esto es normal y no indica ningún defecto ni fallo de funcionamiento de la unidad. No obstante, debe evitarse que los niños toquen la parte superior
del televisor.
• El televisor emite una especie de ‘crujido’.
Es posible que el ‘crujido’ se produzca cuando el televisor se contrae o expande debido a un cambio en el ambiente que lo rodea, por ejemplo, en
la temperatura o humedad. Esto es normal y no constituye un defecto.
• Defectos de celda
Su televisor de plasma tiene un panel que contiene de 2.360.000 (nivel HD) a 6.221.000 (nivel FHD) píxeles que requieren tecnología sofisticada
para su producción. No obstante, es posible que existan algunos píxeles brillantes u oscuros en la pantalla. Estos píxeles no influirán en el
rendimiento del producto.
• Evite que el televisor funcione a temperaturas por debajo de 41°F (5°C)
• La imagen fija visualizada durante demasiado tiempo puede causar daños permanentes en el panel de la PDP.
Ver el televisor de plasma en formato 4:3 durante un tiempo prolongado puede dejar rastros de bordes en la izquierda, derecha, arriba o
abajo de la pantalla. Reproducir un DVD o el uso de una consola pueden tener el mismo efecto.
La garantía no cubre los daños causados por dichos efectos.
• Imágenes fantasma en la pantalla.
Visualizar imágenes fijas de videojuegos y computadora por un período superior al determinado puede producir imágenes fantasma parciales.
Para evitar este efecto, reduzca el brillo y el contraste cuando visualice imágenes fijas durante un tiempo prolongado.
• Garantía
La garantía no cubre ningún daño causado por la retención de imágenes.
La garantía no cubre el desgaste de la pantalla.
• Precaución
La pantalla de vidrio de su televisor PDP puede romperse si el televisor se cae accidentalmente. Manipule el televisor con cuidado.
Como una medida de precaución, cuando mueva el televisor, siempre haga que dos o más personas lo levanten y lo transporten. No
coloque el televisor en posición horizontal hacia arriba ni hacia abajo.
Su televisor de plasma Samsung es un televisor de alta calidad que ha sido embalado con cuidado para proteger la integridad de su panel de vidrio y sus
piezas durante el envío. No obstante, es una pieza de electrónica frágil que requiere que se la manipule con cuidado. Evite ejercer presión indebida sobre

Conexiones
Conecte su televisor a una conexión de antena o cable y luego conecte los periféricos. Cuando finalice, conecte el cable de alimentación
al televisor y luego a una toma CA de la pared. Si conecta su televisor a un receptor de cable o satélite con conexiones HDMI, de
Componente o de Cable mixto, no necesita conectar la entrada ANT IN a una conexión de antena o cable.
• Para obtener la mejor calidad de imagen y audio, conecte el televisor a dispositivos digitales utilizando un cable HDMI.
• Si conecta un dispositivo externo al televisor que utiliza una versión más antigua de HDMI, es posible que el video y el audio no funcionen. Si esto ocurre,
póngase en contacto con el fabricante del dispositivo para confirmar la versión HDMI y, si está desactualizada, solicitar una actualización.

Cambiar la fuente de entrada
Origen
Cuando está mirando televisión y desea ver una película en el reproductor de DVD o reproductor de Blu-ray, o pasar a
su receptor de cable o de satélite STB, debe cambiar el Origen.

Cómo usar Editar Nombre
Editar Nombre le permite asociar el nombre de un dispositivo a una fuente de entrada, por ejemplo, Blu-ray a HDMI 1. Para acceder a
Editar Nombre, pulse el botón TOOLS cuando se muestre la lista Origen. Las siguientes selecciones aparecen bajo Editar Nombre:

Configuración de los parámetros de configuración básicos en Configuración inicial
Cuando el televisor se enciende por primera vez, una secuencia de pantallas e indicaciones en pantalla le ayudará a configurar los
parámetros de configuración básicos del televisor. Enchufe el cable de alimentación a un toma de pared y luego pulse el botón POWER
para encender el televisor. Establezca la configuración básica de su televisor en la configuración inicial siguiendo las instrucciones de la

Uso del controlador del televisor (Tecla del panel)
El Controlador del televisor, un pequeño botón tipo joystick en la parte posterior izquierda del televisor, le permite controlar el televisor sin
el control remoto. Para abrir una función y verla en la pantalla o seleccionar una configuración que se muestre en la pantalla, empuje el
controlador hacia atrás, hacia adelante, a izquierda o derecha. Para confirmar una configuración después de seleccionarla, empuje hacia
arriba el controlador.

Modo suspensión
Su televisor ingresa en el modo Suspensión cuando lo apaga y continúa consumiendo una pequeña cantidad de energía eléctrica. Por
motivos de seguridad y para disminuir el consumo de energía, no deje su televisor en modo Suspensión durante períodos prolongados
(cuando se va de vacaciones, por ejemplo). Es mejor desenchufar el cable de alimentación.
Los menús Principal y Herramientas del televisor contienen
funciones que le permiten controlar las características del televisor.
Por ejemplo, en el menú Principal usted puede cambiar el tamaño
y la configuración de la imagen su brillo, su contraste, etc.
También cuenta con funciones que le permiten controlar el sonido,
la configuración de canales, el uso de la energía y una cantidad
de otras funciones del televisor. Para acceder al menú principal
en pantalla, pulse el botón MENU (

) en su control remoto. Para
acceder a los menús Herramientas, pulse el botón TOOLS. Los
menús Herramientas están disponibles cuando aparece el icono

Si cree que el televisor tiene un problema, compruebe primero esta lista de posibles problemas y soluciones. También analice
la sección Solución de problemas en el e-Manual. Si no se aplica ninguna de las sugerencias para la solución de problemas,
visite www.samsung.com/support o llame al Servicio al Cliente de Samsung.
Problemas Soluciones y explicaciones
Parpadeo y atenuación Si su televisor Samsung parpadea o se atenúa esporádicamente, quizá deba desactivar
algunas de sus características de energía eficiente como el Sensor Eco o la función de Ahorro
de energía. Siga los pasos siguientes con el control remoto para activar o desactivar estas
funciones.
• Ahorro de energía: Menú del usuario → Sistema → Solución Eco → Ahorro de
energía
• Sensor Eco: Menú del usuario → Sistema → Solución Eco → Sensor Eco
Conexiones de componentes /Color
de pantalla
Si descubre que el color de la pantalla de su televisor Samsung no es correcto o se ve solo en
blanco y negro, primero realice un Autodiagnóstico en el televisor para asegurarse de que no
haya problemas con el dispositivo.
• Autodiagnóstico: Menú del usuario → Soporte técnico → Autodiagnóstico → Prueba
de imagen
Si el problema no aparece en la Prueba de imagen, asegúrese de que:
• Sus conexiones son todas consistentes. Por ejemplo, si ha utilizado la entrada AV In en su
televisor, asegúrese de haber utilizado la entrada AV Out en su fuente de video.
• Ha conectado sus dispositivos en las entradas correctas. Por ejemplo, si utiliza las entradas
Componente, rotuladas Pb, Pr e Y para conectar su fuente de TV y video, asegúrese
de haber conectado la entrada Pb azul en la fuente de video a la entrada Pb azul en el
televisor, la entrada Pr roja en la fuente a la entrada Pr roja en el televisor y la entrada Y
amarilla en la fuente de video a la entrada Y amarilla en el televisor.
Brillo de la pantalla Si detecta que los colores en su televisor Samsung son correctos pero demasiado oscuros o
brillantes, intente ajustar los siguientes valores en la opción Imagen del menú principal:
• Luz de la celda, Contraste, Brillo, Definición, Color, Tinte (V/R), etcétera.
Apagado no deseado Si su televisor Samsung se apaga por sí mismo, puede haber un problema con su
configuración de Temporizador o la función ecológica Apagado por no señal.
Primero asegúrese de que su Temporizador no se haya configurado accidentalmente. El
temporizador apaga el televisor después de un período determinado.
• Temporizador: Menú del usuario → Sistema → Tiempo → Temporizador
Si el Temporizador no está activado, es posible que haya activado la función Apagado por
no señal o Apagado autom.. Para desactivar estas funciones siga estos pasos con el control
remoto.
• Apagado por no señal: Menú del usuario → Sistema → Solución Eco → Apagado por
no señal
• Apagado autom.: Menú del usuario → Sistema → Solución Eco → Apagado autom.
Problemas de encendido Antes de encender el televisor, busque la luz roja en la parte inferior izquierda o derecha
de su televisor. Pulse el botón de encendido del televisor o del control remoto. El
indicador parpadeará 5 veces antes de que se encienda el televisor.
Si está teniendo problemas para encender su televisor Samsung, hay una cantidad de cosas
para comprobar antes de hacer una llamada al departamento de servicio.
• Si está utilizando el televisor como monitor y la luz de espera sólo titila unos segundos
cuando pulsa el botón de encendido, su PC esté en modo suspendido. Para sacar a su PC
del modo suspendido, pulse cualquier tecla del teclado o mueva el mouse. Luego pruebe
encender su televisor.
Si está seguro de que el cable de alimentación, el control remoto y la PC funcionan
correctamente, es posible que haya un problema con el cable. Si tiene un receptor de cable
o satélite, su televisor puede parecer apagado debido a que el receptor de cable o satélite
no emite una señal. Para probar la salida de señal de su receptor de cable o satélite, pulse el
botón de guía o información en el control remoto del receptor de cable o satélite. Si la pantalla
muestra la guía o la información, el problema es causado por el receptor.
No encuentra un canal Vuelva a ejecutar la Configuración (Vaya a Menú - Sistema - Configuración) o ejecute Prog.

Problemas Soluciones y explicaciones
Imagen deficiente
En primer lugar, realice la Prueba de imagen para confirmar que el televisor muestre
correctamente la imagen de prueba.
• Vaya a MENU - Soporte técnico - Autodiagnóstico - Prueba de imagen
Si la imagen de la prueba se muestra correctamente, la imagen deficiente puede provenir de
la fuente o de la señal.
La imagen del televisor no se ve tan
bien como en la tienda.
Las visualizaciones en las tiendas por lo general están sintonizadas en canales digitales, HD
(alta definición).
• Si tiene un receptor de cable/satélite analógico, cambie a un receptor digital superior.
Utilice cables HDMI o de componentes para conseguir la mejor calidad de imagen de alta
definición (HD).
• Suscriptores de cable/satélite: Pruebe con las emisoras de alta definición (HD) en la oferta
de canales.
• Conexión de antena de aire/cable: Pruebe las emisoras de alta definición (HD) después de
realizar una programación automática.
✎ Muchos programas de canales de alta definición (HD) mejoran los contenidos SD
(definición estándar). Busque un canal que emita verdadero contenido HD.
• Ajuste la resolución de la salida de video del receptor de cable o satélite en 1080i o 720p.
La imagen se ve distorsionada: error
de macrobloques, microbloques,
puntos, pixelización.
• La compresión de los contenidos de video puede causar imágenes distorsionadas
especialmente en programas con escenas de movimiento rápido, como en los deportes y
las películas de acción.
• Un nivel de señal débil puede causar imágenes distorsionadas. Este no es un problema del
televisor.
• Los teléfonos móviles utilizados cerca del televisor (dentro de los 3,3 pies) pueden causar
ruido en la imagen en canales analógicos y digitales.
El color es de mala calidad o falta. • Si utiliza una conexión de componentes, compruebe que los cables de los componentes
estén conectados en las entradas correctas. Las conexiones incorrectas o sueltas pueden
originar problemas o que la pantalla se quede en blanco.
El color o el brillo es de mala calidad. • Ajuste las opciones de Imagen en el menú del televisor. (vaya a Modo de Imagen / Color /
Brillo / Definición)
• Ajuste la opción Ahorro de energía en el menú del televisor (vaya a MENU - Sistema -
Solución Eco - Ahorro de energía)
• Intente reiniciar la imagen para ver la configuración de imagen predeterminada. (vaya a
MENU - Imagen - Restablezca imagen)
Hay una línea de puntos en el borde
de la pantalla.
• Si el tamaño de la imagen está establecido en Ajuste pantalla, cámbielo a 16:9.
• Cambie la resolución del receptor de cable/satélite.
La imagen se ve sólo en blanco y
negro.
• Si está utilizando una entrada mixta AV, conecte el cable de video (amarillo) en el conector
Verde de la entrada 1 de Componente del televisor.
Al cambiar de canal, la imagen se
congela o se ve distorsionada o
aparece con retraso.
• Si el televisor está conectado a un receptor de cable, pruebe reiniciarlo. (Desconecte y
vuelva a conectar el cable de CA y espere hasta que el receptor de cable se reinicie. Puede
tardar unos 20 minutos.)
• Establezca la resolución de salida del receptor de cable en 1080i o 720p.
Problemas de sonido
Primero, realice la Prueba de sonido para determinar si el audio de su televisor funciona
correctamente.
• Vaya a MENU - Soporte técnico - Autodiagnóstico - Prueba de sonido
Si el audio es correcto, el problema del sonido puede provenir de la fuente o la señal.
No hay sonido o se oye demasiado
bajo con el volumen al máximo.
• Compruebe el volumen del dispositivo (receptor de cable/satélite, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.)
conectado al televisor.
La imagen es buena pero no hay
sonido.
• Configure la opción Seleccionar altavoz en Altavoz de TV en el menú Sonido.
• Si está usando un dispositivo externo, compruebe la opción de salida de audio del
dispositivo (Por ej., quizá deba cambiar la opción de audio de su receptor de cable a HDMI
si el receptor está conectado a su televisor por medio de un cable HDMI.)
• Si está utilizando un cable DVI a HDMI, se requiere un cable de audio distinto.
• Reinicie el dispositivo conectado desconectando y volviendo a conectar el cable de
alimentación del dispositivo.
Los altavoces hacen un ruido
inapropiado.
• Compruebe las conexiones de los cables. Asegúrese de que no haya un cable de video
conectado a una entrada de audio.
• Para la conexión de la antena o el cable, compruebe la potencia de señal. Un nivel de señal
débil puede causar distorsiones en el sonido.
• Realice la Prueba de sonido como se explicó anteriormente.

No hay imagen, no hay video
El televisor no enciende. • Compruebe que el cable de alimentación CA esté bien conectado en la toma de la pared y
en el televisor.
• Asegúrese de que la toma de pared funcione.
• Pruebe pulsar el botón POWER del televisor para asegurarse de que el problema no esté
en el control remoto. Si el televisor se enciende, consulte la sección "El control remoto no
funciona" a continuación.
El televisor se apaga
automáticamente.
• Compruebe si la opción Temporizador está establecida en Apagado en el menú Sistema.
• Si el televisor está conectado a una PC, compruebe la configuración de la alimentación de
la PC.
• Compruebe que el cable de alimentación CA esté bien conectado en la toma de la pared y
en el televisor.
• Cuando se ven programas de televisión con una antena, el televisor se apaga tras 10-15
minutos si no hay señal.
No hay imagen ni video. • Compruebe las conexiones de los cables. (Desconecte y vuelva a conectar todos los
cables del televisor y de los dispositivos externos.)
• Establezca la salida de video del dispositivo externo (receptor de cable/satélite, DVD, Blu-
ray, etc.) de modo que coincida con las conexiones de la entrada del televisor. Por ejemplo,
si la salida de un dispositivo externo es HDMI, se debe conectar a una entrada HDMI en el
televisor.
• Compruebe que los dispositivos externos estén encendidos.
• Asegúrese de seleccionar la fuente correcta del televisor pulsando el botón SOURCE del
control remoto.
• Reinicie el dispositivo conectado desconectando y volviendo a conectar el cable de
alimentación del dispositivo.
Conexión de la antena (aire/cable)
El televisor no recibe todos los
canales.
• Compruebe que el cable coaxial esté firmemente conectado.
• Ejecute Prog. Automática para agregar canales disponibles a la lista de canales. Hay tres
opciones, STD, HRC e IRC. La mayoría de los sistemas de cable usan STD.
• Compruebe la posición correcta de la antena.
No hay subtítulos en los canales
digitales.
• Compruebe el menú de configuración de los Subtítulo. Intente cambiar el Servicio1 del
Modo de Subtítulo a CC1.
• Algunos canales no tienen datos de subtítulos.
La imagen se ve distorsionada: error
de macrobloques, microbloques,
puntos, pixelización.
• La compresión de los contenidos de video puede causar imágenes distorsionadas
especialmente en programas con escenas de movimiento rápido, como en los deportes y
las películas de acción.
• Un nivel de señal débil puede causar imágenes distorsionadas. Este no es un problema del

• Desconecte los terminales de audio izquierdo y derecho del receptor de satélite. Si los
zumbidos cesan, esto indica que el receptor de satélite tiene un problema en la conexión a

demasiado cerca de una pared o de otra superficie dura. Además, intente volver a enrutar
sus cables de conexión.

Problemas Soluciones y explicaciones
La imagen no se muestra en la
pantalla completa.
• En cada lado se muestran barras negras en los canales de alta definición (HD) cuando se
muestran contenidos SD mejorados (4:3).
• Aparecerán barras negras en la parte superior e inferior de la pantalla cuando mire películas
que tienen relaciones de aspecto distintas de las de su televisor.
• Ajuste la opción del tamaño de imagen del dispositivo externo o del televisor al modo de
pantalla completa.
Problema de retención de imágenes
(desgaste).
• Para minimizar la posibilidad de desgaste de pantalla, esta unidad está equipada con
tecnología de reducción de desgaste de pantalla Cambio de píxel. Cambio de píxel le
permite configurar la imagen para que se mueva ligeramente hacia arriba y hacia abajo
(línea vertical) y de lado a lado (punto horizontal). El movimiento leve regular de la imagen
reduce el desgaste de la pantalla.
El control remoto no funciona. • Cambie las pilas del control remoto. Asegúrese de insertarlas con los extremo con el signo
más y menos en la dirección correcta.
• Limpie la ventana de transmisión ubicada en la parte superior del control remoto.
• Apunte con el control remoto directamente al televisor desde una distancia de 1,5 - 2
metros.
El control remoto del receptor de
cable/satélite no enciende ni apaga el
televisor, ni ajusta el volumen.
• Programe el control remoto del receptor de cable/satélite para que haga funcionar el
televisor. Consulte el manual del usuario del receptor de cable/satélite para conocer el
código del televisor Samsung.
Aparece un mensaje de “Modo no
compatible”.
• Compruebe la resolución que admite el televisor y ajuste en consecuencia la resolución de
salida del dispositivo externo. Consulte cómo configurar la resolución de este manual.
Subtítulo en el menú del televisor
aparece atenuado.
• No puede seleccionar Subtítulo en el menú del televisor cuando está conectado a través
de HDMI o Componente.
• Se debe activar Subtítulo en el dispositivo externo.
Se advierte un olor a plástico que
proviene del televisor.
• Este olor es normal y desaparece con el tiempo.

restablecerá cada 30 minutos. Si desea cambiar la configuración del Demo comercio al
Uso domiciliario, pulse el botón SOURCE para seleccionar el modo TV y vaya a MENU
→ Soporte técnico → Modo de uso.
Pérdida intermitente de audio o video. • Compruebe las conexiones de los cable y vuelva a conectarlas.
• La pérdida de audio o video se puede deber a que los cables son demasiado rígidos o
gruesos. Asegúrese de que los cables queden lo suficientemente flexibles para un uso
prolongado. En un montaje de pared del televisor, es aconsejable utilizar cables con
conectores de 90 grados.
El menú PIP no está disponible. • La función PIP sólo está disponible cuando utiliza una fuente de HDMI o Componente.
Ve pequeñas partículas cuando mira

importantes en el producto.
Instalación del kit de montaje de pared
El kit de montaje de pared (se vende por separado) le permite instalar el televisor en una pared. Si desea más información sobre la
instalación del montaje de pared, consulte las instrucciones que se facilitan con dichos elementos. Si necesita ayuda con la instalación del

Fijación del televisor a la pared
Precaución: Tirar del televisor, empujarlo o colgarse de él puede provocar su caída. En especial, procure que los niños
no se cuelguen del televisor ni lo desestabilicen, ya que el televisor podría caerse sobre ellos y causarles lesiones graves
o incluso la muerte. Siga las precauciones de seguridad del folleto de seguridad incluido con el producto. Para mejorar la
estabilidad instale un dispositivo antivuelco, como se explica a continuación.
Para impedir que el televisor se caiga
Dado que las grapas, los tornillos y la cadena necesarios no se suministran con
el producto, deberá adquirirlos por separado.
1. Coloque firmemente las grapas sobre la pared con los tornillos. Asegúrese
de que los tornillos estén bien fijados en la pared.
2. Quite los tornillos de la parte central posterior del televisor, colóquelos en
las grapas y luego vuelva a ajustar los tornillos en el televisor.

con una cadena fuerte y ténsela firmemente.

Bloqueo antirrobo Kensington
Un bloqueo Kensington es un dispositivo que puede usar para
fijar físicamente su televisor en un lugar cuando lo utiliza en un
lugar público. Usted enrolla el cable del Bloqueo Kensington en un
objeto inmóvil voluminoso y luego conecta el bloqueo en la ranura
Kensington en la parte posterior del televisor.
El aspecto y el método de bloqueo puede diferir de la ilustración
que sigue según el fabricante. Consulte el manual proporcionado
con el bloqueo Kensington para obtener más información sobre
