Start curling with a hair section that is 1 inch wide and no more than 1⁄2 inch thick. Open the spoon and place a hair section on the barrel, rolling up, close to the scalp. Release the pressure on the handle and allow the hair section to slide out. Repeat process on additional sections of hair until you achieve the hairstyle you desire. It may be necessary to repeat process on certain areas, depending on the texture of your hair. Some experience is necessary when learning to use this curling iron. The UNLOCK symbol on the control panel will change to the LOCK symbol. This setting prevents the temperature setting from accidentally changing during use. To change the locked temperature setting, simply slide the Temperature Lock/Unlock Slide Switch to the UNLOCK position. Select a new temperature, and slide the Temperature Lock/ Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz) only. This unit is designed to be operated at 120V AC. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
