CONVERSION INSTRUCTIONS FOR GENIE® & OVERHEAD DOOR®
FIXED CODE DIP SWITCHES
What do xed code dip switches look like and how do I convert them to button presses on my new universal remote?
If you have a group of 9 switches with 3 positions per switch (TRINARY):
• Switch in the UP position = Press button 1
• Switch in the MIDDLE position = Press button 2
• Switch in the DOWN position = Press button 4
In this example, the button presses would be:
If you have a group of 9-12 switches with 2 positions per switch (BINARY):

STEP 1: Each shaded box below represents a DIP switch position. In these boxes, write in the number 1, 2 or 4 as it corresponds to
the UP, MIDDLE or DOWN switch position you see on the remote, opener head or receiver.
Convert the code:
Each box should contain a 1, 2, or 4. Each box should
correspond to the position of the switch on your remote
opener head or receiver. If you have less than 12 switches,
only ll in what you have.
*You will need to reference this section in STEP 3.4 below.
STEP 2: Determine which specication/combination you have from the CHART B below:

Circle the number of button presses in Chart B above or write it below. This will tell your remote what brands/spec’s you have.
STEP 3: Programming the Universal Remote:
CHART B
This box should say 1, 2 or 3.
*You will need to reference this section in STEP 3.9 below.
In this example, the button presses would be:
• Switch in the UP position = Press button 1
• Switch in the DOWN position = Press button 4
ENTER LEARN MODE:
1. On the universal remote, press and hold down button #1.
2. While still holding down button #1, press button #4 on the universal remote four times.
3. Release both buttons - The WHITE LED on the remote will quickly ash 4 times.
ENTER DIP SWITCHES:
4. *On the universal remote, enter in order the numbers 1, 2 or 4 as you have written in STEP 1. The LED lights with each button press..
5. After the last DIP switch position entry, simply wait for the BLUE LED to quickly ash 4 times and go out.
ENTER BUTTON SELECTION MODE:
6. On the universal remote, press and hold down button #2.
7. While still holding down button #2, press button #3 on the universal remote four times.
8. Release both buttons - the BLUE LED on the remote will begin ashing.
9. Press the button of your choice on the universal remote the required number of times indicated from Chart B in STEP 2 above*. You
will have 10 seconds to complete your entry.
10. After your press(es), simply wait the remainder of the 10 seconds - the BLUE LED will give a long blink and then go out.
11. Test the remote.
PROGRAMMING ASSISTANCE: If the opener does not activate after the steps shown, repeat steps or call 1-800-929-3667 for program-
ming assistance.

remoto universal?
Si usted tiene un grupo de 9 interruptores con 3 posiciones por interruptor (TRINARIOS):
• Interruptor en la posición de ARRIBA = Oprima el botón 1
• Interruptor en la posición del MEDIO = Oprima el botón 2

3. Suelte ambos botones - el LED BLANCO en el control remoto destellará rápidamente 4 veces.
INGRESE LOS INTERRUPTORES DIP:
4. *En el control remoto universal, ingrese en orden los números 1, 2 o 4 como se hayan escrito en el PASO 1. El LED se ilumina cada vez que se
oprima el botón.
5. Después del ingreso de la última posición del interruptor DIP, simplemente espere que el LED AZUL emita 4 destellos rápidos y luego se apague.
INGRESE EL MODO DE SELECCIÓN DE BOTÓN:
6. En el control remoto universal, oprima y mantenga oprimido el botón número 2
7. Mientras aún mantiene oprimido el botón número 2, oprima el botón número 3 en el control remoto universal cuatro veces.
8. Suelte ambos botones - El LED AZUL en el control remoto comenzará a destellar.
9. * Oprima el botón de su elección en el control remoto universal las veces necesarias indicadas en el PASO 2 arriba. Del Cuadro B. Tendrá 15
segundos para completar la tarea.

ÉTAPE 1 : Chaque case ombragée ci-dessous représente la position d’un commutateur DIP. Dans ces cases, écrivez le chire 1, 2 ou
4 correspondant à la position HAUTE, MÉDIANE OU BASSE du commutateur que vous voyez sur votre télécommande, sur la tête de
l’ouvre-porte ou sur le récepteur.
Convertissez votre code :
Chaque case devrait contenir un 1, 2 ou 4. Chaque case
devrait correspondre à la position du commutateur de la
tête de l’ouvre-porte de télécommande ou du récepteur.
Si vous avez moins de 12 interrupteurs, remplissez
uniquement ce que vous avez. *Vous devrez vous

Encerclez sur le tableau B ci-dessus le nombre de fois que vous appuyez sur le bouton ou notez-le ci-dessous. Ceci communiquera vos

2. En maintenant toujours le bouton n° 1 enfoncé, appuyez sur le bouton n° 4 de la télécommande universelle quatre fois.
3. Relâchez les deux boutons : la DEL BLANCHE de la télécommande clignotera rapidement 4 fois.
PASSEZ AUX COMMUTATEURS DIP :
4. *Sur la télécommande universelle, entrez les chires 1, 2 ou 4 dans l’ordre, comme vous les avez notés à l’ÉTAPE 1. La DEL
s’illuminera chaque fois que vous appuierez.
5. Après la saisie de position du denier commutateur DIP, attendez simplement que la DEL BLEUE clignote rapidement 4 fois, puis s’éteigne.
PASSEZ AU MODE DE SÉLECTION DES TOUCHES :
6. Sur la télécommande universelle, appuyez sur le bouton n° 2 et maintenez-le enfoncé.
7. En maintenant toujours le bouton n° 2 enfoncé, appuyez sur le bouton n° 3 de la télécommande universelle quatre fois.
8. Relâchez les deux boutons. La DEL BLEUE de la télécommande commencera à clignoter.
9. *Appuyez sur le bouton de votre choix sur la télécommande universelle le nombre de fois requis, tel qu’indiqué à l’ÉTAPE 2 ci-dessus à
partir du tableau B. Vous aurez 15 secondes pour terminer votre saisie.
10. Après avoir appuyé (une fois ou quelques fois), attendez simplement le reste des 10 secondes - la DEL BLEUE émettra un long
clignotement, puis s’éteindra.
11. Vériez la télécommande.
