“DAC FILTER”
Settings
FAST LINEAR Uses a steep filter to remove noise from outside the desired frequency band. The resulting sound
quality tends to be clear.
SLOW LINEAR Uses a gentle filter to remove noise from outside the desired frequency band. The resulting sound
quality tends to be more gradual with a softer attack.
FAST MINIMUM Removes noise from outside the desired frequency band with a steep filter. This gives a clear tone,
and the resulting sound quality tends to have a more powerful low end than FAST LINEAR.
SLOW MINIMUM Removes noise from outside the desired frequency band with a gentle filter. The resulting sound
quality tends to have a sharper attack than SLOW LINEAR, with a powerful low end.
APODIZING FAST Removes noise from outside the desired frequency band with a filter that has less pre-ringing than
FAST LINEAR. The resulting sound quality tends to be clear and transparent.
HYBRID FAST
Removes noise from outside the desired frequency band using a special filter with both linear
phase and minimum phase. The resulting sound quality tends to have a sharper attack with a
powerful, crisp sound.
BRICKWALL Removes noise from outside the desired frequency band by using a filter with steeper
characteristics than all the others. The resulting sound quality tends to be clear in the high end.
SHORT LATENCY
An original digital filter by Yamaha. Removes noise from outside the desired frequency band with a
filter that reduces the amount of pre-ringing, minimizing filter-based latency. The resulting sound
quality of this filter tends to have a sharper attack with a rhythmical feel.
