When this appliance is installed, operated and maintained according to all supplied instructions, the following
warranty coverage applies. To arrange for warranty service, call 1-800-4-MY-HOME ® (1-800-469-4663).
" For one year from the date of purchase, free repair will be provided if this appliance fails due to defective
materials or workmanship.
• For five years from the date of purchase, a defective sealed refrigerant system will be repaired free of charge.
If this appliance is ever used for other than private family purposes, this warranty applies for only 90 days from
the date of purchase.
This warranty covers ONLY defects in material and workmanship, and will NOT pay for:
Expendable items that can wear out from normal use, including but not limited to filters, belts, incandescent light
bulbs and bags.
1. A service technician to instruct the user in correct product installation, operation or maintenance.
2. A service technician to dean or maintain this product.
3. Damage to or failure of this product if it is not installed, operated or maintained according to the all
instructions supplied with the product.
4. Damage to or failure of this product resulting from accident, abuse, misuse or use for other than its
intended purpose.
5. Damage to or failure of this product caused by the use of detergents, cleaners, chemicals or utensils
other than those recommended in all instructions supplied with the product.
6. Damage to or failure of parts or systems resulting from unauthorized modifications made to this product.

Customer's sole and exclusive remedy under this limited warranty shall be product repair as provided herein.
Implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to
one year or the shortest period allowed by law. Sears shall not be liable for incidental or consequential
damages. Some states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, or limitation on the duration of implied warranties of merchantability or fitness, so these exclusions
or limitations may not apply to you.

This Use & Care Guide provides specific operating instructions for your model. Use the
air conditioner only as instructed in this guide. These instructions are not meant to
cover every possible condition and situation that may occur. Common sense and
caution must be practiced when installing, operating, and maintaining any appliance.

the numbers may be easier by using a flashlight or by removing the cabinet front as
instructed under " Care and Cleaning. "

Prevent Accidents
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons when using your air
conditioner, follow basic precautions, including the following:
Be sure the electrical service is adequate for the model you have chosen. This
information can be found on the nameplate, which is located on the side of the
cabinet.
If the air conditioner is to be installed in a window, you will probably want to
clean both sides of the glass first. If the window is a triple-track type with a
screen panel included,remove the screen completely before installation.
Be sure the air conditioner has been securely and correctly installed according
to the separate installation instructions provided with this manual. Save this
manual and the installation instructions for possible future use in removing or
reinstalling this unit.
When handling the air conditioner, be careful to avoid cuts from sharp metal
fins on front and rear coils.
Electrical Information
The complete electrical rating of your new room air conditioner is stated on the serial
plate. Refer to the rating when checking the electrical requirements.
Be sure the air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire
hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a
three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards.
Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the
wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a
time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper
receptacle.
Do not run air conditioner without outside protective cover in place. This could
result in mechanical damage within the air conditioner.
Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.
READ THIS SECTION BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO OPERATE AIR CONDITIONER.
Unit must be upright for one hour prior to operating.
Operation of Current
Device
Plug in &
press RESET
The power supply cord contains a current device that senses damage to the
power cord.
To test your power supply cord do the following:
1. Plug in the Air Conditioner.
2. The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the
TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESETbutton pops out.
3. Press the RESETbutton. Again you will notice a click as the button engages.
4. The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. (On some
products this is also indicated by a light on the plug head).
NOTES:
• Do not use this device to turn the unit on or off.
• Always make sure the RESETbutton is pushed in for correct operation.
• The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when either the
TEST button is pushed, or it cannot be reset. A new one can be obtained by
contacting Sears at 1-800-4-MY-HOME ®.
• If power supply cord is damaged, it CANNOT be repaired. It MUST be
replaced by one obtained by contacting Sears at 1-800-4-MY-HOME ®.

Air Conditioner Features
To begin operating the air conditioner, follow these steps:
1. Set the temperature selector to the highest number (coldest or coolest setting).
2. Set the made control to the High Coo! setting.
3. Adiust the louvers for comfortable air flow (see Air Directional Louvers).
4. Once the room has cooled, adiust the temperature selector to the setting you find mast comfortable. Refer to the
instructions below.
Temperature Selector
This is used to set the desired room temperature when the unit is being
operated in the "COOL MODE".
To set the desired room temperature, rotate the selector switch to the desired
setting. After the set temperature is achieved, the thermostat will automatically
start and stop the compressor in order to maintain the desired set temperature.
Rotate the temperature selector clockwise for higher cool setting. Higher cool
settings will provide lower room temperature.
Rotate the temperature selector counter-clockwise for lower cool settings.
Lower cool settings will provide higher room temperature.
Cool Mode
The desired cool setting is selected by rotating the MODE knob to the
appropriate location.
"High Cool" has maximum cooling effect and airflow.
"Low Cool" has minimum cooling effect and airflow.
Fan Mode
Rotate the MODE knob to select your choice of fan speeds for air circulation
only.
Note: When selecting a fan speed, the compressor will not run.
ADDiTiONAL THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Please always wait 3 minutes when turning unit off then on again, and when changing from cool to fan and back to
cool. This prevents compressor from overheating & possible circuit breaker tripping.
Failure to follow these instructions may be harmful to your unit.
Models with a key hole overflow drain hole can use drain kit 5304481680 to connect a 1/2 inch drain hose for safe
disposal of excess system water. This part can be ordered at www.SearsPartsDirect.com.
LOUVERS
AUGER WHEEL
Air directional louvers control air flow direction. Your air
conditioner has the 2-way directional system described below.
The louvers will allow you to direct the air Left or Right throughout the
room as needed. Rotate the Auger Wheel until the desired Left or Right
direction is obtained. There are a total of 2 possible air directional
orientations available with this system.

Care and Cleaning
Energy Saving ideas
Clean your air conditioner occasionally to keep it looking new. Be sure to
unplug the unit before cleaning to prevent shock or fire hazards.
Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is
necessary.
Trapped particles in the filter can build up and block air from flowing to
cooling coils and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.
• Remove filter by sliding out from the right side.
• Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse
filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure filter is
thoroughly dry before replacing
• Or instead of washing, you may vacuum the filter dean.
Cabinet Cleaning
• Be sure to unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire hazard. The
cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a
cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing
detergent.Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
• Never use harsh cleaners, wax or polish on the cabinet front.
• Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the
controls.Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the
air conditioner.
• Plug in air conditioner.
Winter Storage
If you plan to store the air conditioner during the winter, remove it carefully
from the window according to the installation instructions. Cover it with cloth
or return it to the original carton.
NOTE: Store air conditioner in a dry place in upright position (horizon=
tal with base down).
The capacity of the room air conditioner must fit the room size for efficient
and satisfactory operation.
Install the room air conditioner on the shady side of your home. A window
that faces north is best because it is shaded most of the day.
Do not block inside airflow around air conditioner with blinds, curtains or
furniture; or outside with shrubs, enclosures, or other buildings.
Close the fireplace damper, floor and wall registers so cool air does not
escape up the chimney and into the duct work.
Keep blinds and drapes in other windows dosed during the sunniest part of
the day.
Clean the air filter as recommended in the section "Care and Cleaning."
Proper insulation and weather stripping in your home will help keep warm air
out and cool air in.
External house shading with trees, plants or awnings will help reduce the
air conditioner's work load.
Operate heat producing appliances such as ranges, washers, dryers and
dishwashers during the coolest part of the day.

cable. Para comprobar su cable de corriente haga Io siguiente:
1. Enchufe el aparato de aire acondicionado.
2. El cable de corriente tiene DOS botones en el enchufe. Presione el bot6n TEST.
Perdbir6 un sonido al tiempo que et bot6n RESETsale hacia fuera.
3. Presione el bot6n RESET.De nuevo percibir6 un sonido al encajar el bot6n en su
lugar.
4. El cable de corriente estar6 en este momento suministrando electricidad a la unidad.
(En algunos productos esto se indica adem6s con un piloto en el enchufe)
ATENCION:
* No use este dispositivo para encender y apagar la unidad.

Funcionalidades dei acondicionador
Para comenzar a operar el aparato de alre acondicionado, siga estos pasos:
1. Configure el selector de temperatura al n0mero mbs alto (configuraci6n mbs fria o mbs c61ida).
2. Configure e! control de modo en la opci6n de High Cool (frio).
3. Aiuste las palas para conseguir un fluio de aire c6modo (vea 'Palas de direcci6n del aire').
4. Una vez la estancia se haya enfriado, aiuste el selector de temperatura a la configuraci6n m6s c6moda para usted.
Consulte las instrucciones de abaio.
Selector de temperatura
Se usa para establecer la temperatura deseada para la estancia cuando la
unidad est6 siendo operada en "COOL MODE" (modo frJo).
Para seleccionar la temperatura deseada para la estancia, rote el selector hasta la
configuraci6n deseada. Despu_s de haber alcanzado la temperatura especificada,
el termostato arrancarb y detendr6 autom6ticamente el compresor para mantener
dicha temperatura.
Rote el selector de temperatura en sentido horario para establecer una configuraci6n
de frJo m6s alta. Una configuraci6n altamente fria provocar6 una temperatura m6s
baia en la estancia.
Rote el selector de temperatura en sentido anti-horario para establecer una
configuraci6n m6s baia de frJo.
Una configuraci6n de frio baia provocar6 una temperatura m6s alta en la estancia.
Modo ffio
La configuraci6n de frio deseada es seleccionada rotando la rueda MODE al lugar
apropiado.
"High Cool" (frio alto) provoca un efecto mbximo de frio y fuerza del aire.
"Low Cool" (frio baio ) provoca un efecto minimo de frio y fuerza del aire.
Modo ventilador
Rote la rueda MODE para seleccionar la velocidad deseada del ventilador para
la operaci6n de s61o ventilaci6n.
Nora: Cuando seleccione una velocidad de ventilador, el compresor no arrancar6.

Por favor, espere siempre por 3 minutos entre apagado y encendido de la unidad, y cuando cambie de modo frio a
ventilador y de vuelta. Esto evitar6 que el compresor se sobrecaliente y una eventual rotura del cortacorrientes.

Los modelos con orificio de drenaie pueden usar el kit de drenaie 5304481 680 para conectar una manguera de

RUEDECILLAS SIN FIN
Las palas de direccionamiento del aire controlan la direcci6n del fluio
de aire. Su acondicionador tiene el sistema direccional de 2 vias descrito
a continuaci6n.
Las palas permiten dirigir el fluio de aire a la habitaci6n hacia la izquierda
o la derecha seg0n sea necesario. Gire las ruedecillas hasta conseguir la
direcci6n deseada hacia la izquierda o la derecha. Puede configurar un
total de 2 orientaciones diferentes para el fluio de aire con este sistema.

Limpleza del flJtro de alre
El filtro de aire debe ser revisado al menos una vez al mes par si acaso es
necesario limpiarlo.
Las parficulas atrapadas en el filtro pueden apilarse y bloquear el flujo normal
del aire en el circuito refrigerante, causando una acumulaci6n de escarcha en el
mismo.
Remueva el filtro deslizandolo hacia fuera par el lado derecho.
* Lave el filtro usando jab6n liquido y agua templada. Aclare el filtro
cuidadosamenteo Sacuda suavemente el exceso de agua del filtroo Aseg6rese
de que el filtro esta completamente seco antes de volverlo a colocarlo.
Coma alternativa a lavarlo, puede limpiar el filtro con una aspiradora.
Limpieza de la carcasa
, Aseg6rese de desconectar el equipa de la corriente antes de limpiarlo para
evitar incendios y choques el_ctricos. La carcasa y el frontal pueden sacudirse
con un pa_a sin aceites o lavarse con un pa_o humedecido en una soJuci6n de
agua tibia y jab6n liquido suave. Aclare cuidadosamente y seque.
. Nunca utilice limpiadores duros, ni cera o pulidores en el frontal de la carcasa.
. Aseg6rese de escurrir el exceso de agua del pa_o antes de limpiar alrededor
de los controles. El exceso de agua en los controles o su alrededor puede causar
da_os al aparato.
o Conecte el aparato de aire acondicionado a la corriente.
Almacenamlento en invierno
Si tiene pensado guardar el acondicionador de aire durante el invierno, quitelo
con cuidado de la ventana de acuerdo alas instrucciones de instalaci6n. C6brala
con una tela o devu_lvala a suembalaje original.
NOTA: AImacene el acondlclonador de aire en un lugar seco y en la
posici6n normal hacia arriba (horizontal con la base hacia abaio).
La capacidad del aparato de aire acondicionado debe ser adecuada para la
estancia para conseguir una operaci6n eficiente y satisfactoria.
Instale el aparato de aire acondicionado en el lado de su casa donde no
pegue el sol Una ventana que encare al narte es mejor ya que queda a la
sombra la mayor parte del dia.
No bloquee el flujo interior de aire alrededor del acondicionador can persianas,
cortinas o muebles; ni en el exterior con setos, cercas ni otros edificios.

Mantenga los cortinas y persianas de los dem6s ventanas cerradas durante
la hora m_s soleada del dia.
Limpie el filtro del aire coma se recomienda en la secci6n "Cuidados y
limpieza".
Un aislamiento adecuado y burletes en puertas y ventanas de su hagar
ayudaran a mantener el aire c61ido fuera y el frio dentro.
Tener la casa a la sombra de arboles, plantas o toldos contribuye a reducir
la cargo de trabajo del aparato de aire acondicionado.
