General information
Reading and storing the user manual
This user manual accompanies this paper shredder. It contains
important information on start-up and handling.
Before using the paper shredder, read the user manual carefully. This
particularly applies for the safety notes. Failure to heed this user
manual may result in severe injury or damage to the paper shredder.
Store the user manual for further use. Make sure to include this user manual
when passing the paper shredder on to third parties.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the
paper shredder or on the packaging.
This signal symbol/word designates a hazard
with moderate degree of risk which may lead
to death or severe injury if not avoided.
This signal symbol/word warns of possible
damage to property.
This symbol provides you with useful additional information
regarding operation or handling.

Do not reach into the inlet slot!
Not a child‘s toy! Children may only use the device if under
competent supervision.
Keep long, loose hair away from the area of the inlet slot.
Keep neckties, scarves and loose clothing away from the area of
the inlet slot!
Avoid wearing accessories (necklaces, etc.) while using the
device!
Do not insert any paper clips or staples in the inlet slot!
Do not use any spray cans / aerosols in the vicinity of the device!
Only insert a maximum of 6 sheets of paper (80 g/m²) at any
one time!
The paper shredder complies with protection class II:
It is equipped with dual protective insulation and therefore
contains no touchable metallic parts, which could conduct
voltage in the event of a fault.
The certified safety seal (GS mark) certifies that a product meets
the requirements of the German Product Safety Act (ProdSG). The
GS mark indicates that the safety and health of the user will not
be jeopardized providing the product is used properly, but also in
case of foreseeable misuse. This isa voluntary safety mark issued
by TÜV Rheinland.

Safety
Proper use
The paper shredder is only designed for cutting. It is only intended for private use
and not suitable for commercial purposes.
Only use the paper shredder as described in this user manual. Using it in any
other way is deemed improper and may result in damage to property or even
personal injury. The paper shredder is not a children’s toy.
The manufacturer or vendor cannot be held liable for damages incurred
through improper or incorrect use.
Safety notes
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
A faulty electrical installation or excessive line voltage may
result in an electric shock.
- Only connect the paper shredder in indoor areas and only to a
properly installed 120 V socket with a protective conductor.
- Plug adapters or extension cords must also be equipped
with a protective conductor.
- Only connect the paper shredder to an easily accessible
socket so that you can quickly disconnect it from the grid in
case of a failure.
- Do not operate the paper shredder if it is visibly damaged or if
the power cable or power plug is defective.
− If the power cable of the paper shredder is damaged, the
manufacturer, its customer service team or a person with
similar qualifications must replace it.

Do not open the housing; instead, have a qualified professional
perform repairs. To do so, contact the service address indicated
on the warranty card. Liability and warranty claims are waived

in the event of repairs or conversions performed by the user,
improper connection of the device or incorrect operation.
− Only parts that comply with the original device data may be
used for repairs. Electrical and mechanical parts, which are
essential for providing protection against sources of danger,
are located in this paper shredder.
− Do not operate the paper shredder with an external timer or
separate telecontrol system.
− Do not immerse the paper shredder or the power cable or
power plug in water or other liquids.
− Never touch the power plug with damp hands.
− Do not perform any other work (such as cleaning) on the
paper shredder while it is operating.

Never pull the power plug out of the socket by the power cable;
instead, always do so by taking hold of the power plug.
− Never use the power cable as a carrying strap.
− Keep the paper shredder, power plug and power cable away
from open flames and hot surfaces.
− Lay the power cable so that it does not pose a tripping hazard.
− Do not kink the power cable and do not lay it over sharp edges.
− Only use the paper shredder in indoor areas. Do not use it in
wet rooms or in the rain.
− Never store the paper shredder so that it is at risk of falling into
a bath tub or washbasin.

Never reach to retrieve the paper shredder if it has fallen in
water. In such a case, immediately disconnect the power
plug.

Make sure that children do not insert any objects into the
paper shredder.
−
Always switch the paper shredder off and pull the power
plug out of the socket when you are not using the paper

shredder, cleaning it or in the event of a fault.
WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with impaired physical,
sensory or mental capacities (e.g. partially disabled per-
sons, older persons with reduced physical and mental ca-
pacities) or lack of experience and knowledge (e.g. older
children).

This paper shredder may be used by children from the age
of eight as well as persons with impaired physical, sensory
or mental capacities or those lacking experience and
knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed in
how to safely use the paper shredder and have understood
the risks associated with operating it. Children must not play
with the paper shredder. Cleaning and user maintenance
must not be performed by unsupervised children.
− Keep children under eight years of age away from the
paper shredder and connector cable.
− Do not leave the paper shredder unattended while it is
operating and do not perform any other activities during
operation.
− Make sure that children do not play with the packaging
wrapper. Children may get caught in it when playing and
suffocate.
− Keep the paper shredder away from pets.
− Clearly advise other users of the risks.

− Place the paper shredder on an easily accessible, level, dry,
heat-resistant and sufficiently stable work surface. Do not
place the paper shredder on the edge of the work surface.
− Avoid the build-up of heat by not placing the paper shredder
directly up against a wall or under cupboards or similar.
− Protect the paper shredder from direct sunlight.
− Never place the paper shredder on or near hot surfaces
(e.g. stovetops, heaters etc.).
− Ensure that the power cable does not come into contact with
hot parts.
− Never expose the paper shredder to high temperatures
(heaters etc.) or to the effects of the weather (rain etc.).
− Never fill the paper shredder with liquid.
− Never put damp documents or organic objects in the paper
cutter (e.g. flowers, leaves etc.).
− Stop using the paper shredder if its plastic parts exhibit
cracks or breaks or are deformed. Only replace damaged
parts with corresponding original spare parts.
− Never insert metallic objects (e. g. paper clips, staples etc.)
or objects other than paper which are intended for this paper
shredder into the infeed slot.

If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a
sharp knife or other pointy object, you may quickly damage
the paper shredder.

1. Take the paper shredder out of the packaging.
2. Check whether the paper shredder or the individual parts exhibit damage. If
this is the case, do not use the paper shredder. Contact the manufacturer at the
service address specified on the warranty card.
3. Check to make sure that the delivery is complete (see fig. A).
Operation
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Incorrect handling with the top document shredder can lead
to damage to the motor or to the inner rollers.
− Avoid overloading the motor by not putting more than 6
sheets of paper (80 g/m
2
) into the slot at the same time.
− Do not shred formats larger than A4 or continuous paper.
− Unplug the device if the motor cuts out because of over-
loading. Ensure that the slide switch is at OFF. Leave the
motor to cool for about 30 minutes to room temperature,
before you plug the shredder back in. You can then continue
with operations.
− Remove paper clips, staples and similar fixings before you
start shredding.
Short-term operation:
• The shredder is suitable only for short-term operation and
not for continuous use. After continuous operation of a maximum
of 1 minute, let the shredder rest for 30 minutes, to prevent
overheating of the device.
• The shredder motor switches off automatically if it overheats.
Ideally, use a round wastebasket with a diameter of between 27.5 cm and 37.5 cm.

2. Ensure that the shredder is seated firmly on the waste bin (see fig. B).

Using AUTO setting
You can shred your paper with the Auto setting.
1. Place the slide switch
1
at the AUTO position. The ON LED
2
comes on green
and the shredder is ready for use.
2. Feed the paper through the slot

into the cutters. Make sure that you push
the paper in straight and centred (see fig. B).
If the slide switch is at AUTO, the shredder switches off automatically as soon as
the paper has been shredded.
3. Place the slide switch at OFF, if you no longer need the shredder. The ON LED
goes out.
4. Unplug the shredder and empty the waste bin.
There is a paper sensor
5
in the centre of the slot, which detects
the paper inserted and activates the cutters in the shredder. For
this reason, always push smaller paper formats into the centre of
the slot

.
Using the REV setting
Use the REV setting to put the cutters into reverse.
1. Move the slide switch into the REV
1
position. The cutters run in reverse and
moves the fed paper back out of the shredder.
2. Take the paper out of the shredder in order then to continue with the
shredding process (see “Paper jam“ in the fault table).

Risk of short circuit!
Water that has penetrated the housing may cause a short
circuit.
− Disconnect the power plug before cleaning.
− Never submerge the paper shredder in water.

− Make sure that no water penetrates the housing.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the paper shredder may result in dama-
ge to the paper shredder.
− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or
nylon bristles, sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as
knives, metal sponges and the like. They could damage the
surfaces.
− Do not in any case place the paper shredder in the dish-
washer. It would be destroyed as a result.
− Use a damp cloth to wipe off the paper shredder. Let all parts dry completely
afterwards.
The device is maintenance-free and the cutting mechanism need
not be treated with special oil.
Storage
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Improper storage of the paper shredder may result in dama-
ge to the paper shredder.
− Never store the paper shredder next to a heat source.
− Do not fold or crush the power cable.
− Only stow the paper shredder if it is dry.
− Always store the paper shredder in a clean, dry area that it is protected from
direct sunlight and is not accessible for children.
− Use the original packaging for storage.

Disposal
Disposing of the packaging
− Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and
cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrappers with appropriate
collection service.
Disposing of old devices
Old devices must not be disposed of with household waste!
− Should the paper shredder no longer be capable of being used at some point
in time dispose of it in accordance with the regulations in force in your
federal state or country.
− Please ensure your recycling information does apply to the local regulations

La destructora de documentos solo está diseñada para cortar.
Solo está concebida para uso privado y no es apta para el ámbito industrial.
Utilice únicamente la destructora de documentos de la forma como se describe

− No abra nunca la carcasa. Si es necesario, encargue las

garantía. La responsabilidad y la garantía pierden su validez
en caso de reparaciones o conversiones realizadas por el
usuario, conexión incorrecta del dispositivo o uso inadecuado.
− Utilice solo piezas que cumplan con los datos del dispositivo
original para las reparaciones. Esta destructora de documentos
incluye piezas eléctricas y mecánicas esenciales como
protección frente a posibles riesgos.
− No utilice la destructora de documentos con un temporizador
externo o un sistema de control remoto independiente.
− No introduzca la destructora de documentos ni el cable de
alimentación o el enchufe en agua o en otros líquidos.

Comprobar la destructora de documentos y el volumen
de suministro

Si abre el embalaje con un cuchillo afilado o con otros objetos
puntiagudos sin tener cuidado, la destructora de documentos
puede dañarse rápidamente.

Al abrir el embalaje, proceda con sumo cuidado.
1. Saque la destructora de documentos de su embalaje.
2. Compruebe si la destructora de documentos o las piezas individuales
presentan daños. Si está dañada, no utilice la destructora de documentos.
Contacte con el fabricante a través de la dirección de servicio técnico indicada
en la tarjeta de garantía.
3. Compruebe si el suministro está completo (ver la fig. A).

rior puede causar daños en el motor o en los rodillos internos.
− No coloque más de 6 hojas de papel (80g/m

) juntas en la
alimentación para evitar sobrecargar el motor.
− No utilice formatos mayores que A4 ni papel continuo.
− Desenchufe el dispositivo si el motor se apaga por
sobrecarga. Asegúrese de que el interruptor deslizante está
en la posición OFF. Deje que el motor se enfríe durante unos
30 minutos a temperatura ambiente antes de volver a

enchufar la destructora de documentos. A continuación,
puede seguir utilizándola.
− Retire los clips de papel, grapas y fijaciones similares antes
de empezar a triturar.
Uso en períodos cortos:
• La destructora es apta solo para operación durante períodos
cortos, no para un uso continuado. Después de usar la destructora
de documentos
durante un máximo de un minuto, deje que
descanse durante 30 minutos para evitar el sobrecalentamiento.
• El motor se apaga automáticamente si alcanza una temperatura
excesiva.
Idealmente, utilice una papelera con un diámetro de entre 27.5 cm y
37.5 cm.

y coloque la destructora sobre
la papelera.
2. Asegúrese de que la destructora de documentos está apoyada firmemente
sobre la papelera (ver fig. B).

Cómo usar la posición AUTO
Puede utilizar la posición AUTO para destruir papel.
1. Coloque el interruptor deslizante

en la posición AUTO. Cuando el LED de
encendido

se ilumine en verde, la destructora estará lista para usar.
2. Introduzca el papel por la ranura

hasta las cuchillas. Asegúrese de colocar el
papel recto y centrado (ver fig. B).
Si el interruptor deslizante está en AUTO, la destructora se apaga auto-
máticamente después de triturar el papel.
3. Coloque el interruptor deslizante en OFF si no necesita seguir usando la
destructora. El LED de encendido se apagará.
4. Desenchufe la destructora y vacíe la papelera.

en el centro de la ranura de entrada que
detecta el papel y activa las cuchillas de la destructora. Por este
motivo, debe introducir los formatos de papel más pequeños por el
centro de la ranura

Cómo usar la posición REV
Utilice la posición REV para poner las cuchillas en marcha atrás.
1. Coloque el interruptor deslizante en la posición REV

. Las cuchillas giran en
sentido contrario para sacar el papel de la destructora.
2. Retire el papel de la destructora para seguir triturando (ver «Papel atascado»
en la tabla de errores).
Limpieza
¡ADVERTENCIA!
¡Riesgo de cortocircuito!
El agua que haya entrado en la carcasa puede provocar un
cortocircuito.
− Desconecte el cable antes de limpiar la destructora.
− No sumerja nunca la destructora de documentos en el agua.
− Asegúrese de que no entre agua en la carcasa.
¡AVISO!
¡Riesgo de daños!
El manejo inapropiado de la destructora de documentos pue-
de provocar daños en la misma.
− No utilice productos de limpieza agresivos, cepillos con
cerdas de metal o nylon, utensilios de limpieza afilados o
metálicos como cuchillos, estropajos de metal y similares,
pues pueden dañar las superficies.
− Nunca coloque la destructora de documentos en el
lavavajillas, pues la destruiría.
− Utilice un paño húmedo para limpiar la destructora de documentos. Deje que
todas las piezas se sequen por completo.
El dispositivo está exento de mantenimiento y el mecanismo de corte no necesi-
ta ser tratado con aceites especiales.

The ALDI warranty offers you extensive benefits compared to the statutory
obligation arising from a warranty:
Warranty period: 3 years from date of purchase.
6 months for wear parts and consumables under normal
and proper conditions of use (e.g. rechargeable batteries).
Costs: Free repair/exchange or refund.
No transport costs.
ADVICE: Please contact our service hotline by phone, e-mail or
fax before sending in the device. This allows us to provide
support in the event of possible operator errors.
In order to make a claim under the warranty, please send us:
• together with the faulty item, the original receipt and the warranty
card properly completed.
• the faulty product with all components included in the packaging.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
• Accident or unanticipated events (e.g. lightning, water, fire).
• Improper use or transport.
• Disregard of the safety and maintenance instructions.
• Other improper treatment or modification.
After the expiry of the warranty period, you still have the possibility to have
your product repaired at your own expense. If the repair or the estimate of
costs is not free of charge you will be informed accordingly in advance.
This warranty does not limit the statutory obligation of the seller arising from
a warranty. The period of warranty can only be extended in accordance with
a legal standard. In countries where a (compulsory) warranty and/or spare
part storage and/or a system for compensation are/is required by law, the
