PRESENTATION OF THE PRODUCT
Dimensions
Recommendations
Read the installation instructions and
directions for use before installation
and actual usage.
Also be sure to follow your stove's
directions for use.
We strongly recommend you entrust
the installation of this Stûv cladding to
a qualified professional.
Once the cladding has been installed,
hand these instructions to the user.
This cladding has been designed
to be fitted to a wall, and is not for
installation in the middle of the room.
It is extremely important to insulate
the stove using the insulation kits
provided.
The guarantee only covers damage
incurred during transport if it is
reported within 48 hours of delivery
and a complaint is made upon receipt.
Adhere to the maintenance guidelines.
Any modification carried out to this
cladding may create a dangerous risk.
Furthermore, it will also exempt it
from cover under the guarantee.
Only use Stûv spare parts for repair.
The installation of the stove, its
accessories and surrounding materials
must adhere to all regulations (local
and national) and all standards
(national and European).
Some national and local regulations
require the installation of an access
flap in the connection between the
stove and the smoke flue.
The stove has to be installed in such
a way as to facilitate access to sweep
the stove, the connection duct and
the smoke flue.

Combustion air inlet
PREPARATION OF THE AREA
Smoke flue
Outside air inlet :
The outside air for combustion can be
fed in :
– either through the wall
(Ø 170 mm, distance from the
ground :140 ± 5 mm) - [diagram 1].
– or through the ground [diagram 2
& 3].
Thickness : between 0.4 mm and
2 mm.
Ø of the hole for the duct 285 mm.
Outlet to the back [diagram 1] :
– Connection to a rigid duct single
wall or double wall flush with the
wall,
– in-line distance between rear outlet
and the floor 1912 mm
Outlet going upwards
[diagram 2] :
– double-wall insulated duct up to
just above the cladding, if height
extension is used (in order to
prevent heat radiation reaching the
cladding),
– in-line distance between rear outlet
and the wall 165 mm.

Holding capacity of the structure
The stove's surroundings and decoration
Ensure that the resistance of the
floor is sufficiently strong to support
the stove and the construction of
the cladding. If in any doubt, please
consult a specialist.
Convection
With installation of a "stove version"
or "fireplace column version" where
the wall is not plumb, there will be a
gap between the cladding and/or the
extension and the wall.
The recess (semi-recessed
configuration)
Check the dimensions of the recess
[diagram 1]. Minimum depth of the
recess : 330 mm.
The cladding must be able to expand
freely. The brickwork or decorative
materials must not enter into
contact with the stove under any
circumstances; leave a gap of at least
5 mm.
This recess around the cladding
must be ventilated to prevent "heat
traps" [see the stove’s installation
instructions].
Radiated heat
Significant heat may be radiated
through the glass door. Ensure the
materials exposed to this radiated heat
are resistant to high temperatures.
The air inlet in the Stûv 21 convection
hood has to be open (rectangular base
for fan).
The 4 upper air outlets in the Stûv
21 convection hood also have to be
open. With installation of the "semi-
recessed" version using ducts, then
2 or 4 depending on the number of
ducts required.
Never open the side or rear outlets
(refer also to the Stûv 21 installation
instructions "convection" and
"ventilation" sections).

Circulation of convection air
Natural or forced convection ?
Natural convection is sufficient in most
cases [photo 1].
This method of heat diffusion
obviously enables easier installation
(no electrical connection) is less
expensive and ensures completely
silent operation.
However, a fan unit :
– enables the amount of air to be
increased and for it to be distributed
further : this is vital if you set up
an air circuit with longs lengths of
ducting,
– allows the temperature to be made
constant more quickly in the space
to be heated,
– enables the air temperature to
be reduced in the outlet vents
(therefore preventing combustion
of the ash and the depositing of ash
on the surrounding plasterwork).
Especially recommended when the
ceiling is lower than 2.40 m.
Please note...
With installation of the "stove" and
"fireplace column" versions, the air
inlets and outlets are in the cladding.
With installation of the semi-recessed
version :
– for the inlets, use 2 feed ducts of
150 mm in diameter,
– hot air outlets directly through the
façade of the cladding or via ducts
(see stove recommendations).
The air inlets and outlets have to be
set up so they cannot be obstructed.
If you install grills on the air inlets/
outlets, ensure that the passage of
useful air in these grills is at least
equivalent to the section of the air
inlets/outlets to prevent pressure loss.
Forced convection : Please note !
Only use the ventilation kit for
the SF15! Please refer to the
stove's instructions and other
recommendations.

On taking delivery of the equipment
Checking the contents
If accessories have been ordered
(fan kit, outside air inlet kit, fireplace
extension), they will be in an seperate
package. Please check all accessories
are supplied as ordered.
The installation instructions and the
directions for use are attached to the
packaging.
The cladding contains...
[a] stove insulation kit (3 panels)
[b] Upper insulation kit for cladding
(2 panels with pre-cut piece + lug
+ M5 fixing screw for the upper
insulation part)

Unpacking
Moving the cladding
– with a pallet truck : leave it on its
pallet,
– using a hand-lift truck, turn the
cladding on its back and leave the
palette in position.
Using a hand-lift truck or pallet loader,
move the main part of the SF15
cladding close to its final destination.
Remove the cardboard packaging.

Preparing the cladding
Unscrew the 2 top locking screws
(Allen key 3) on the façade [photo 1].
Open the façade and take it off
its hinges [photo 1]. Put it down
carefully.
Using the cutting pliers, cut the
fasteners holding the side panels
[photos 3 & 4].
Remove the side panels [photos 5
& 6].

Using a size 10 spanner, unscrew the
hinges (at the top and the bottom)
[photos 1 & 2] and the bearing
[photo 3].
Using the size 3 Allen key, unscrew
the 12 screws on the front part of the
structure (left and right) [diagram 4].
Remove the front part of the structure
[photo 5].
Unscrew and remove the structure's
support from the wooden palette (2
screws with PZ2 heads at the back)
[photo 6].
With a rear smoke outlet, knock out
the pre-cut piece from the back of the
structure's support [photo 7].
With a combustion air inlet at the
rear, knock out the filling plate from
the bottom of the structure's support
[photo 8].

Using a slot screwdriver, bend the 2
attachment "lugs" (brackets) of the
structure's support [photos 1 & 2].
Attach the vertical insulation into
the top of the structure's support
[photo 3].
With a rear connection, knock out the
pre-cut piece (U-shaped) from the
insulation and position it with the “U”
opening facing upwards [photo 3].
Positioning of the combustion air inlet
Put the support in its final position.
Positioning of the combustion air
inlet (optional).
Using the screw gun (hexagonal size
10 head), screw in the 2 self-cutting
screws at the bottom for attaching the
valve. [photo 1].
If you plan to put the combustion air
inlet at the back, slide the flexible duct
(diam 150 to 160 mm) into the circle
in the plate [photo 2].
Fix the valve in the flexible duct with
the clamp collar [photo 3]. Ensure the
control is put on the left or on the
right to prevent it from butting up
against the fan.
Fit the valve to the cladding. Screw
in the upper screw and the 2 lower
screws [photo 4].
Unscrew the ball grip and one of the
locknuts in the control of the outside
air inlet valve.

Attachment of combustion air
inlet valve control (optional).
Attach the valve's open/close control
in the position provided on the front
part of the structure [photo 1].
Using the thread, screw in the control
[photo 2].
Insert the ball grip [photos 4 & 5].
Check the mechanism [photos 5 & 6].
Attachment of the structure's
support.
Using the size 13 open spanner,
position the support. Please note that
if this task is not carried out properly,

Connection to the smoke flue
In the case of a connection duct for
just one room, leave a gap of 2 mm/m
lengthways to allow for expansion.
Using a hammer, knock out the
stove's 4 convection air outlets
[photo 1].
Remove the cappings (do not drop
them into the double convection
wall).
Using a size 10 Allen key, unscrew
the smoke chamber's fixing screws
[photo 2]. Position the smoke
chamber facing the right way
[photo 3]. Screw it back in. The rear
part is screwed in from inside the
smoke chamber [photo 4].
If you intend to put the smoke outlet
at the rear, invert the outlet with the
filling plate [photo 5].
Using the screw gun and the size 10
socket wrench, fit the Stûv 21/65H
extension (total elevation) [photo 6].
Position the stove's large insulation
panel at the rear (on the 21/65H)
[photo 7].
Put the Stûv 21/65H into its SF15
cladding. Use the grips [photo 8].

Insulating the fireplace
Screw or unscrew (size 5 Allen key)
from inside the combustion chamber
to level the stove [photos 1 and 2].
Attach the duct connection.
Note : the stove must be insulated
using the insulation kits provided.
Insert the 2 side insulation panels of
the Stûv 21/65H [photo 1].
Using the cutter, cut the U shape out
of the cladding's upper insulation
[photo 2]. The cut-out is to pass
the duct through or for access for
sweeping later.
Slide in the SF15 cladding's upper
insulation with the "U" facing the rear
[photos 3 & 4].
Insert the front part of the SF15
structure [photo 5 & 6]. To do this,
use the two levelling blocks to raise
the front part by around 2.5 cm and
position the mounting holes in line
with the structure support holes.

Positioning of the side panels
Insert the side panels, hooked part at
the top, on the wall side [photo 1].
If no cladding extension is being
fitted, bend the hooked parts of the
panels outwards [photo 2].
Inserting fireplace extension (optional)
Unpack the fireplace extension.
Remove the cardboard [photo 1].
Unscrew the extension from the
palette, PZ2 heads [photo 2].The
height of this part is 96.2 cm. It can be
cut with a disc saw or a jig saw.
Measure the distance between the
ceiling and the top of the SF15
structure [photo 3].
Cut as necessary. Leave a gap of 8 to
10 mm to insert the coving and for
decompression (hot air passage).
To do this, remove the coving.
After cutting, replace the coving on
the extension [photo 4]. Bend the lugs
on the coving [photo 5].
Slide the entire piece onto the top of
the structure and insert it into the two
notches provided at the back.

Connecting the upper insulation plate to the extension
Insert the lug included in the
insulation kit through the opening of
the convection air outlet.
From the top of the structure, attach
the lug by sandwiching the extension
(M5x20 countersunk heads) [diagrams

Positioning of the opening grip of the stove’s glass door
Using the cold grip, open the stove's
door in tilt mode [photo 1].
Unscrew the cylinder of the glass door
opening grip on the side where you
want to install the new grip [photo 2].
Use a powerful torque because the
parts are screwed in and stuck.
Using the round-headed self-adhesive
M6x12 screw and the size 4 Allen key,
screw in the parallel-piped rectangle
for the glass door grip. Reinsert the
grip cylinder into this parallel-piped
rectangle [photo 3 & 4].
Re-close the door of the Stûv 21/65H
keeping the grip at the bottom to
prevent the glass door from coming
up [photo 5] (avoid using the grip
which has just been stuck on). Close
the façade of the SF15 [photo 6].
Finalising the position of the stove
Move the stove forwards until it is
flush (against the inside of the front
part of the structure).
Centre the stove (left - right)

Screw/unscrew the adjustable feet
from inside the combustion chamber
to make the stove flush with the
bottom of the opening of the SF15

Handling
Please note
Some parts of the cladding can
become very hot even during normal
usage (nominal power).
Opening the façade
There is a gripping point for opening
the façade. It is located at the same
height as the oven door opening
mechanism.[photo 1 & diagram 2].
Open the façade by hand. If you do
not use this gripping point, watch
your fingers.
Opening the sliding door
Insert the cold grip into the cylinder of
the SF15 grip. Slide to open and close
[photos 3 & 4].
Using the open fire valve
The valve control is found in the
opening on the front of the structure.
(See Stûv 21 instructions for use).
Using the fan
The fan control is found on the front
of the structure.
Always wait until the stove is hot
(around 15 to 30min.) before
starting the fan in order to increase
the temperature in the combustion
chamber. (See Stûv 21 instructions for
use).

Chimney-sweeping
In case of problems...
Do the sweeping at least once a year
in accordance with local and national
regulations in force. If part of the
connecting duct is horizontal, we
advise 2 sweepings in every season of
heating use.
Pass on this information to the
chimney sweep (see Stûv 21
instruction for use).
For installation with a duct going
upwards, see the Stûv 21 instructions
for use.
For installation based on the "stove"
version with a rear duct :
– remove the supporting piece from
the insulation plate [photo 1].
– slide the insulation plate forwards
[photo 2].
– remove the valve disc and open the
top of the smoke flue [photo 3],
– sweep and reassemble in reverse
order.
Serial number
When making a complaint, always
indicate the serial number which is
visible on the support of the cladding
structure. This can be seen through
the rectangular gap [photo 1].
Problems and solutions
The fit between the façade and
the front of the oven is not
right [diagram 2] :
On the inside of the façade (at
top and bottom) you will find a
magnet that is adjustable for height
that enables you to adjust the fit
[diagram 3]. Using the size 8 key,
unscrew the lock-nut, adjust the
magnet by turning it clockwise or
anti-clockwise. Lock it by screwing the
lock-nut back on [diagram 4].
