NORMAS GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD
Este ESCAREADOR tiene características que ha-
rán su trabajo más rápido y fácil. Seguridad, co-
modidad y confiabilidad fueron previstos como
prioridad para el diseño del mismo, haciendo
más fácil su operación.
ADVERTENCIA: Lea todas las advertencias
de seguridad y todas las instrucciones. La omi-
sión de alguna de las advertencias e instruccio-
nes que se enlistan a continuación puede dar
como resultado un choque eléctrico, fuego y/o
un daños serios.
CONSERVE TODAS LAS ADVERTENCIAS Y

SEGURIDAD EN EL ÁREA DE TRABAJO
Mantenga el área de trabajo limpia y bien ilu-
minada. Las áreas desordenadas y oscuras pro-
vocan accidentes.
No maneje herramientas eléctricas en atmós-
feras explosivas, tales como en presencia de
líquidos inflamables, gases o polvo. Las herra-
mientas eléctricas crean chispas que pueden
encender el polvo o los humos.

mientras maneja una herramienta eléctrica.

SEGURIDAD PERSONAL
Esté alerta, vigile lo que está haciendo y use
el sentido común cuando maneje una herra-
mienta neumática. No use una herramienta
neumática cuando esté cansado o bajo la in-
fluencia de drogas, alcohol o medicamentos.
Un momento de distracción mientras maneja
herramientas neumáticas puede causar un
daño personal serio.
Use equipo de seguridad. Lleve siempre pro-
tección para los ojos. La utilización para las
condiciones apropiadas de un equipo de segu-
ridad tal como mascarilla antipolvo, zapatos no
resbaladizos, gorro duro, o protección para los

No se sobrepase. Mantenga los pies bien asen-

todo momento. Esto permite un mejor control

joyas. Mantenga su pelo, su ropa y guantes
alejados de las piezas en movimiento. La ropa

IMPORTANTE: Este aparato no se destina
para utilizarse por personas (incluyendo niños)
cuyas capacidades físicas, sensoriales o menta-
les sean diferentes o estén reducidas, o carez-
can de experiencia o conocimiento, a menos
que dichas personas reciban una supervisión o

ADVERTENCIAS DE SEGURIDAD
PARA ESCAREADORAS NEUMÁTICAS
• Use, inspeccione y mantenga esta herramien-
ta siempre de acuerdo a todas las normativas
(locales, estatales, federales y nacionales), que
apliquen a las herramientas neumáticas de
operación y agarre manual.
• Para seguridad, óptimo funcionamiento y
máxima vida útil de piezas, use esta herramien-
ta a una presión máxima de entrada de aire de
90 PSI (6,2 bar/620 kPa) y con una manguera de
suministro de aire de 3/8”(10 mm) de diámetro
interno.
• Cortar siempre el suministro de aire y des-
conectar la manguera de suministro de aire
antes de instalar, retirar, o ajustar cualquier
accesorio de esta herramienta, antes de reali-
zar cualquier operación de mantenimiento de
la misma.
• No utilizar mangueras de aire y accesorios da-
ñados, desgastados ni deteriorados.
• Asegurarse de que todas las mangueras y los
accesorios sean del tamaño correcto y que es-
tén bien apretados. Vea el diagrama para un
típico arreglo de tuberías.
• Manténgase apartado de toda manguera de
aire que esté dando latigazos. Apague el com-
presor de aire antes de acercarse.

• No lubricar las herramientas con líquidos
inflamables o volátiles tales como queroseno,
gasoil o carburreactor.
• No saque ninguna etiqueta. Sustituir toda
etiqueta dañada.
IMPORTANTE: Las herramientas neumáticas

• Utilizar siempre un dispositivo de retención,

que se encuentren cerca contra la posibilidad
de que un accesorio salga disparado.
• Esta herramienta no ha sido diseñada para
trabajar en ambientes explosivos.
• Esta herramienta no está aislada contra des-
cargas eléctricas.
• Evite respirar el polvo y partículas nocivos
que se producen al utilizar la herramienta, así
como exponerse a ellos:
Ciertos tipos de polvo que se producen al li-
jar, serruchar, rectificar o taladrar y durante
otras actividades de la construcción contienen
sustancias químicas que son conocidos como
causantes de cáncer, defectos de nacimiento y
otros daños reproductivos. Algunos ejemplos
de estas sustancias químicas:
· el plomo de las pinturas con base de plomo,
· la sílice cristalina de ladrillos y hormigón y
otros productos asociados con la albañilería, y
· el arsénico y el cromo que produce la madera
sometida a tratamientos químicos.
El riesgo a la persona que presenta una expo-
sición de este tipo varia en función de la fre-
cuencia con que se realiza esta clase de traba-
jo. Para reducir la exposición a estas sustancias
químicas: trabaje en una zona bien ventilada y
utilice equipo de protección homologado, por
ejemplo una mascarilla especialmente diseña-
da para filtrar partículas microscópicas.
• No juegue. La distracción puede causar acci-
dentes.
• Mantenga sus manos y dedos fuera de la pa-
lanca de mando hasta que esté preparado para
usar la herramienta.
• No apoye nunca la herramienta sobre el pie.
• No apunte nunca la herramienta a nadie.
• El aire comprimido es peligroso. No apunte
nunca la manguera de aire hacia usted o sus
compañeros. No quite nunca el polvo de su
ropa con aire comprimido.
• Asegúrese que las conexiones de aire estén
bien apretadas. Una manguera floja no sola-
mente pierde aire sino que puede salirse com-
pletamente de la herramienta y dar latigazos
mientras tenga presión, pueden herir al ope-
rario y a otros que se encuentren en esa zona.
Ponga cables de seguridad a todas las mangue-
ras por si se rompen accidentalmente.
• No desconecte nunca una manguera de aire
con presión. Desconecte siempre el suministro
de aire y purgue la herramienta antes de des-
conectar una manguera.
• Conozca lo que hay debajo del material que
está trabajando. Esté alerta por si hay escondi-
das conducciones de agua, gas, alcantarillado,
teléfono o suministro eléctrico.
• Use solamente los disolventes apropiados
para la limpieza de las piezas. Use solamente
los disolventes de limpieza que cumplan las
normas actuales de salud y seguridad. Use los
disolventes de limpieza en una zona bien ven-
tilada.
• No limpie la herramienta ni ninguna de sus
piezas con gasoil. Los residuos del gasoil se
inflamarán en la herramienta cuando se use,
dañando así las piezas internas.
• Cuando use modelos con gatillos o palancas
de mando externos, tenga cuidado cuando
descanse la herramienta para evitar que se
ponga en marcha accidentalmente.
• No use la herramienta con piezas rotas o da-
ñadas.
• No ponga en marcha nunca la herramienta
cuando esté tumbada sobre el suelo.

INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
LUBRICACIÓN
Use siempre un lubricante de aire con esta he-
rramienta.
Recomendamos una Unidad Reguladora - Lu-
bricadora - Filtradora.
Antes de conectar la manguera, ponga 3 cc
de Aceite en la entrada de aire. Esto deberá
hacerse diariamente, aun cuando se usa un lu-
bricador de linea.
Durante la jornada de trabajo, examine la he-
rramienta para asegurar que los componentes
están lubricados.
Después de cada dos o tres horas de uso, a
menos que se haya puesto lubricante de línea
de aire, desconecte la manguera e inyecte unos
3 cc de Aceite en la entrada de aire.
Si la escareadora no funciona bien, ponga
unos 3 cc de una solución de limpieza apro-
piada en la entrada de aire y accione la herra-
mienta por no más de treinta segundos.
MANTENIMIENTO
Inmediatamente después de la limpieza de la
herramienta, ponga 3 cc de Aceite en la entra-
da de aire y accione la herramienta por unos
treinta segundos para lubricar todas las piezas
internas.
Antes de almacenar la escareadora o si
va a estar parada por un período mayor
de veinticuatro horas, ponga 3 cc de en la
entrada de aire y funcione la herramienta por
5 segundos para cubrir de aceite las piezas in-
ternas.
Esto cubrirá de aceite las piezas internas y evi-
tará el óxido mientras la herramienta esté pa-
rada.
No use nunca un aceite pesado ni tampo-
co un aceite que se espese. Porque atascará
las piezas pequeñas, restringirá el movimiento
de la válvula y causará perdida de eficacia.

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Your NEEDLE SCALER has many features that
will make your job faster and easier. Safety,
performance and reliability have been given
top priority in the design of this tool, qualities
to make easy to maintain and to operate.
WARNING: Read and understand all in-
structions. Failure to follow all indications list-
ed below, may result in electric shock, fire and/
or serious personal injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
SAFETY IN WORKING AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. Clut-
tered benches and dark areas may cause acci-
dents.
Do not operate power tools in explosive atmo-
spheres, such as in the presence of flammable
liquids, gases or dust. Some power tools create
sparks which may provoke fire.
Keep away observers, children and visitors
while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Don't use the tool if you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while operating power
tools may cause a serious personal injury.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing
or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away of moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be
caught in moving parts.
Avoid an accidental starting. Be sure that the
switch is OFF before plugging in. Carrying
tools with the finger on the switch or plug in
the tool switch in ON may cause accidents.
Remove the adjusting keys or wrenches be-
fore turning the tool on. A wrench or a key
that is left close to a rotating part of the tool
may provoke a personal injury.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times. Proper footing and bal-
ance enables better control of the tools on un-
expected situations.
Use safety equipment. Always wear eye pro-
tection. Dust mask, nonskid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection must be used for ap-
propriate conditions.
Before connecting the tool to a power source
(receptacle, outlet, etc.) be sure that the volt-
age supplied is the same as that one specified
on the nameplate of the tool. To use a not
specified voltage may cause a serious injury to
the user as well as damage the tool.
IMPORTANT: This appliance is not intended
for use by persons (including children) with re-
duced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
may be different or reduced, or lack of experi-
ence or knowledge, unless such persons are su-
pervised or trained to operate the product by
a person responsible for their safety. Children
should be supervised to ensure they do not use
the devices as toys.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR
AIR NEEDLE SCALERS
• Always operate, inspect and maintain this
tool in accordance with all regulations (local,
state, federal and country), that may apply to
hand held/hand operated pneumatic tools.
• For safety, top performance, and maximum
durability of parts, operate this tool at 90 PSI
(6.2 bar/620 kPa) maximum air pressure at the
inlet with 3/8” (10 mm) inside diameter air sup-
ply hose.
• Always turn off the air supply and disconnect
the air supply hose before installing, removing
or adjusting any accessory on this tool, or be-
fore performing any maintenance on this tool.
• Do not use damaged, frayed or deteriorated
air hoses and fittings.
• Be sure all hoses and fittings are the correct
size and are tightly secured.
• Keep clear of whipping air hoses. Shut off the
compressed air before approaching a whip-
ping air hose.
• Always use clean, dry air at 90 PSI maximum
air pressure. Dust, corrosive fumes and/or ex-
cessive moisture can ruin the motor of an air
tool.
• Do not lubricate tools with flammable or vol-
atile liquids such as kerosene, diesel or jet fuel.
• Do not remove any labels. Replace any dam-
aged label.

IMPORTANT: Air powered tools can vibrate
in use. Vibration, repetitive motions or un-
comfortable positions may be harmful to your
hands and arms. Stop using any tool if discom-
fort, tingling feeling or pain occurs. Seek medi-
cal advice before resuming use.
• Never operate a Percussion Tool unless an ac-
cessory is properly installed and the tool is held
firmly against the work.
• Always use a retainer, when furnished, in ad-
dition to proper barriers to protect persons in
surrounding or lower areas from possible eject-
ed accessories.
• This tool is not designed for working in ex-
plosive atmospheres.
• This tool is not insulated against electric
shock.
• Prevent exposure and breathing of harmful
dust and particles created by power tool use:
Some dust created by power sanding, sawing,
grinding, drilling and other construction activi-
ties contains chemicals known to cause cancer,
birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some
examples of these chemicals are:
- lead from lead based paints,
- crystalline silica from bricks and cement and
other masonry products, and
- arsenic and chromium from chemically treat-
ed lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depend-
ing on how often you do this type of work. To
reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work
in a well ventilated area, and work with ap-
proved safety equipment, such as those dust
masks that are specially designed to filter out
microscopic particles.
• Do not indulge in horseplay. Distraction can
cause accidents.
• Keep hands and fingers away from the throt-
tle lever until it is time to operate the tool.
• Never point the tool at anyone.
• Compressed air is dangerous. Never point an
air hose at yourself or co-workers.
• Never blow clothes free of dust with com-
pressed air.
• Be sure all hose connections are tight. A loose
hose not only leaks but can come completely
off the tool and while whipping under pres-
sure, can injure the operator and others in the
area. Attach safety cables to all hoses to pre-
vent injury in case a hose is accidentally bro-
ken.
• Never disconnect a pressurized air hose. Al-
ways turn off the air supply and bleed the tool
before disconnecting a hose.
• Know what is underneath the material being
worked. Be alert for hidden water, gas, sewer,
telephone or electric lines.
• Use only proper cleaning solvents to clean
parts. Use only cleaning solvents which meet
current safety and health standards. Use clean-
ing solvents in a well ventilated area.
• Do not flush the tool or clean any parts with
diesel fuel. Diesel fuel residue will ignite in the
tool when the tool is operated, causing dam-
age to internal parts. When using models with
outside triggers or throttle levers, take care
when setting the tool down to prevent acci-
dental operation.
• Do not operate the tool with broken or dam-
aged parts.
• Never start the tool when it is lying on the
ground.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
LUBRICATION
Always use an air line lubricator with these
tools. We recommend a Filter-Lubricator-Reg-
ulator Unit.

Before attaching the air hose, place about 3
cc Oil into the air inlet. This should be done
each day, even when an air line lubricator is
used. During the working day, check the tool
to ensure that the retainer components are
lubricated.
After each two or three hours of operation, if
an air line lubricator is not used, disconnect the
air hose and pour about 3 cc of Oil into the air
inlet of the tool.
If the action of the Scaler becomes sluggish,
pour about 3 cc of a suitable cleaning solution
into the air inlet and run the tool for not more
than thirty seconds.
MAINTENANCE
Immediately after flushing the tool, pour
about 3 cc of Oil into the air inlet and run the
tool for about thirty seconds to lubricate inter-
nal parts.
Before storing a Scaler or if the Scaler is to
be idle for a period exceeding 24 hours, pour
about 3 cc of Oil into the air inlet and operate
the tool for 5 seconds to coat the internal parts
with oil.
Never use a heavy oil or an oil that forms gum.
Either will clog the small parts, restrict valve
motion and cause loss of efficiency. If the op-
eration of the Hammer becomes sluggish, pour
3 cc of a clean, suitable cleaning solution into
the air inlet and operate the tool for 30 sec-
onds. Lubricate in the regular manner immedi-
ately after flushing.
