TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING General Information: Environmental Factors - There are a number of factors that will affect your desired comfort level. These factors can include insulation, open or drafty doors and windows, and outside temperature. Please check and take action if any of these potential problems are affecting your heaters ability to adequately warm your room. Supplemental Heat - Portable electric heaters are intended for supplemental heating of rooms to heat the room you are in and turn down the central heat thermostat. They are not intended to replace central heating systems. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this heater. Doing so will void warranty. The inside of the heater contains no user serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only. Troubleshooting for your Heater Probable Cause Trouble • Heater Does Not Turn On. ☛ ☛ ☛ ☛ Timer activated. Tip-over switch engaged. Manual user reset is activated. Not plugged in properly. ☛ Electrical outlet does not hold plug in securely. ☛ Thermostat set too low. ☛ Obstruction causing the heater not to operate. ☛ Circuit breaker trips. • Not Enough ☛ Heater is in Low Heat setting. Solution ✔ Press the Power Button to turn on the heater. ✔ Set heater upright on a level surface. ✔ Follow reset instructions listed in this manual. ✔ Ensure plug is properly inserted. Make sure electrical outlet and circuit breaker are working. ✔ Have outlet replaced by a licensed electrician. ✔ Press the Thermostat Button to achieve the highest temperature setting. ✔ Unplug the heater and remove all obstructions. Position your heater 36 inches (91cm) away from all objects. ✔ Make sure no other high wattage appliances are operating on the same circuit and reset breaker if needed. This forces the cooler air down towards the heater, where it is warmed. This cycle continues until the desired temperature has been reached. There is no fan so operation is virtually silent. Power Button Select your desired heat settings by pressing the Heat Mode Button to cycle through the heat settings. An indicator light will illuminate to indicate that the selected setting/mode is activated: Max - HIGH Heat Setting The heater will run continuously at 1500W. Low - LOW Heat Setting The heater will run continuously at 750W. Eco - Eco-Smart™ Setting The heater will cycle between high (at 1500W) and low (at 750W) heat settings to provide heat. Timer This heater is equipped with 12-Hour Auto Shut-off Timer feature. This allows you to program your heater to shut off automatically after running for 4-hour, 8-hour or 12-hour intervals. 1. Press the Timer Button ( ) to cycle through 4-hour, 8-hour or 12-hour options. 2. Select your desired interval for the heater to shut-off automatically. The corresponding hour indicator light will illuminate. 3. To cancel the Timer feature, press the Timer Button ( ) until all Timer indicator lights go off. Press the Power On/Off Button to turn the heater on. Once on, the heater will run in the Max Heat mode. Press the Power On/Off button to manually turn off the heater at any setting. NOTE: The Power Light will remain illuminated while unit is plugged in. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Carefully unpack your heater from box, please save the carton for off-season storage. 2. Place heater on a firm, level surface. 3. Plug heater into a standard outlet. Once plugged in, the Power Light will illuminate. NOTE: Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other high wattage appliances in the same outlet. At 1500 watts, this unit draws 12.5 Amps. 4. Operate heater by pressing the Power Button ( ) and selecting the modes and settings according to your preference. Active el calefactor presionando el botón Encendido ( ) y seleccione modos y configuraciones de acuerdo con su preferencia. Encendido/Apagado AIRE FRÍO INSTRUCCIONES DE USO 1. Saque cuidadosamente el calefactor de la caja. Conserve la caja para guardar la estufa fuera de temporada. 2. Coloque el calefactor en una superficie firma y nivelada. 3. Conecte el calefactor en un tomacorriente estándar. Una vez conectado, se encenderá la luz de encendido. NOTA: Evite sobrecargar el circuito eléctrico evitando utilizar otro aparato de alta potencia en el mismo tomacorriente. A 1500 Vatios, esta unidad consume 12.5 Amperes. Presione el botón Encendido/Apagado para encender el calefactor. Una vez encendido, la temperatura del calefactor operará en modo Máxima temperatura. Presione el botón Encendido/Apagado para apagar de manera manual el calefactor cualquiera sea la configuración. NOTA: La luz de encendido eléctrica permanecerá iluminada mientras la unidad se encuentre conectada. Eco - Configuración Eco-Smart™ El calefactor alternará entre configuraciones de temperatura alta (1500 W) y baja (750 W) para calentar. Control de termostato Su calefactor está equipado con un termostato digital que le permite configurar el calefactor a un nivel de confort preciso presionando el botón Termostato ( ). Para configurar previamente un nivel de confort, presione el botón Termostato ( ). para ajustar el nivel de temperatura entre 65°F y 85°F. El Indicador de temperatura correspondiente se encenderá una vez seleccionado. Cuando llegue a la temperatura preseleccionada, el calefactor se apagará. Cuando la temperatura ambiente esté por debajo de la temperatura preestablecida, el calefactor se encenderá nuevamente de manera automática a fin de mantener el nivel de temperatura preestablecido. NOTA: Es normal que el calefactor se encienda y se apague para mantener la temperatura preestablecida. Aumente la configuración del termostato para evitar que el calefactor se apague y se encienda. NOTA: Para apagar el calefactor cualquiera sea la configuración, presione el botón Encendido ( ) hasta que todas las luces indicadoras se apaguen. El termostato digital tiene memoria. Registrará la última configuración de temperatura antes que se apague el calefactor. Sin embargo, si el calefactor no está conectado, el termostato digital no registrará la configuración previa de temperatura. Deberá restablecer el termostato digital si se desconecta el calefactor. If the heater shuts down: 1. Stand the heater upright. 2. Unplug the heater and allow 30 minutes for the heater to cool down. 3. After 30 minutes plug the heater in and operate normally. 4. If the heater does not work normally, repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 again. When the heater is accidentally knocked over, it will instantly shut off. The heater may also shut off if it is moved or bumped. To reset, simply place the heater in an upright position, and press Power On/Off Button to resume operation. When a potential overheat temperature is reached, the system will automatically shut the heater off. It can only resume operation when the user resets the unit. Clean the unit with a soft cloth moistened with a mild soap solution. 2. NEVER use abrasive or flammable solvents to clean the unit. 3. After cleaning, be sure to completely dry the unit with a cloth or towel. 4. Store heater in a cool, dry location. 5. It is recommended that you store the unit in its original carton. TIP: Over time, dust may accumulate on the grills. This can be removed by wiping the unit with a damp cloth. Your heater is equipped with a digital thermostat that allows you to set your heater to a precise comfort level by pressing the Thermostat Button. To preset a precise comfort level, press the Thermostat Button to adjust the temperature level ranging from 65°F to 85°F. The corresponding Temperature Indicator will illuminate once selected. When the preset temperature is reached, the heater will shut off. When the room temperature drops below the preset temperature, the heater will automatically turn on again to maintain the preset temperature level. NOTE: It is normal for the heater to cycle on and off to maintain the preset temperature. Raise the thermostat setting to prevent the heater from cycling. NOTE: To shut the heater off at any setting, press the Power Button ( ) until all indicator lights shut off. The digital thermostat has memory; it will remember the last temperature setting before the heater is turned off. However, if the heater is unplugged, the digital thermostat will no longer remember the previous temperature setting. You will need to reset the digital thermostat if the heater is unplugged. Esto permite programar el calefactor para que se apague de manera automática luego de haber estado en funcionamiento por 4, 8 ó 12 horas. 1. Presione el botón Temporizador ( ) para que sigan la secuencia por 4, 8 ó 12 horas. 2. Seleccione el intervalo deseado en el que el calefactor se apagará automáticamente. La luz indicadora de horario correspondiente se encenderá. 3. Para cancelar la función Temporizador, presione el botón Temporizador ( ) hasta se apagarán todas las luces indicadoras del Temporizador. LIMPIE ZA Y MANTENIMIENTO A PA G A D O A U T O MAT IC O D E S EG U R ID A D LIMPIEZA / MANTENIMIENTO APAGADO AUTOMATICO DE SEGURIDAD Siempre desenchufe el calefactor y deje que se enfríe antes de limpiarlo. 1. Limpie la unidad con un paño suave, humedecido en una solución de jabón suave. 2. NUNCA utilice solventes abrasivos o inflamables para limpiar la unidad. 3. Luego de limpiarla, asegúrese de secar completamente la unidad con un trapo o toalla. 4. Guarde el calefactor en un lugar fresco y seco. 5. Se recomienda guardar la unidad en su embalaje original. *CONSEJO: Con el transcurso del tiempo se acumulará polvo en las rejillas delanteras que puede eliminarse con un paño húmedo. Este calefactor está equipada con un sistema de seguridad tecnológicamente avanzado y que requiere que el usuario la reactive si se produce un recalentamiento. Si la unidad se recalienta, el sistema la apagará automáticamente y sólo podrá volver a funcionar si el usuario la reactiva manualmente. Si el calefactor se apaga: 1. Coloque el calefactor en forma vertical. 2. Desenchufe el calefactor y deje que se enfríe durante 30 minutos. 3. Al cabo de 30 minutos enchufe el calefactor para que funcione de forma normal. 4. Si el calefactor no funciona normalmente, repita los pasos 1, 2 y 3 de nuevo. Apagado de inclinación: Cuando el calefactor se encuentre accidentalmente inclinada, se apagará de manera inmediata y la luz de encendido eléctrica permanece iluminada. El calefactor también se apagará si se la mueve o golpea.
