• EXTENSION CORDS

A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting

from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detach-

able power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used

if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power-supply cord or

extension cord is used:

1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at

least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.

2) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the

countertop or tabletop where it can be tripped over, snagged, or pulled on

unintentionally by children or the user.

• POLARIZED PLUG

This product has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To

reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized

outlet only one way. If plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

If it still does not t contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify

the plug in any way.

BEFORE FIRST USE:

1 . Unpack the product and all of its parts. Remove all packaging materials,

including any stickers or labels.

2 . Read these instructions carefully.

3 . Clean the interior surface of the product with a damp cloth. Wipe dry

with a soft cloth immediately. Do not use abrasive materials. Wipe down

the exterior with a soft dry cloth.

4 . NEVER IMMERSE PRODUCT OR CORD IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.

5 . Position the product on a stable, dry, at, heat-resistant surface near an

electrical outlet.

6 . Unroll the electrical cord.

7 . Operate this product on a separate outlet and circuit from other

appliances to avoid overloading the circuit.

USING THE PRODUCT:

1 . This product is intended ONLY for household use of baking arepas.

2 . Premake the arepa dough following the instructions, and put aside the

dough. (See “steps to making arepas”)

3 . Lift the lid to the open position

4 . Coat the non-stick surface with a small amount of vegetable oil. This can

be done with a paper towel or with a non-stick cooking oil spray. Wipe

o any excess oil. It is recommended to periodically do this before each

use to maintain the quality of the non-stick coating.

5 . Check and conrm the voltage of the product is the same as the outlets.

Then, plug the electrical cord carefully on a separate outlet from other

appliances to prevent the circuit from being overloaded.

6 . The red indicator light will turn ON once the appliance is plugged in.

7 . Lower the lid to the closed position to preheat the appliance until the

green indicator light turns ON. The green indicator light will turn ON

when the appliance reaches the maximum operating temperature. The

appliance is ready to cook as soon as the green light turns ON. Note: The

green indicator light will turn ON and OFF; it does not reect cooking

completion only temperature cycles from minimum (green light OFF) to

maximum (green light ON).

8 . Once the green indicator light turns ON, carefully open the top lid using

CAUTION: The surfaces of the appliance get very hot. To avoid

accidental burns or scalping from the steam being released while

cooking, always open and close the lid by using an oven mitt.

9 . Place dough into the non-stick coated cavities, making sure it does not

overow on to the at plate surface.

10. Close the lid and let cook for approximately 7-10 minutes or until fully

cooked.

11. After the arepas are ready, carefully remove them by using an oven mitt

and a heat-resistant wood or plastic spatula. Do NOT use metal utensils

because they will scratch and damage the surface.

12. If cooking more than one batch in a session, after removing the rst

batch, using an oven mitt close the lid to maintain heat. Note: DO NOT

leave the appliance plugged in without any dough inside for longer than

2 mimutes.

13. As soon as you are nished cooking, unplug the product and allow it to cool

down.

Proper maintenance will ensure many years of use of your product. Clean

the product after every use following these steps. This product contains no

user serviceable parts and requires little maintenance.

WARNING: The surfaces of the item will get very hot during use,

unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning.

1. Clean the interior and exterior surfaces of the appliance with a

damp cloth or sponge. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use

abrasive or metallic materials.

2 . To remove dough baked on to the cooking surface, pour a

small amount of cooking oil on to the hardened dough. After 5

minutes, carefully wipe with a paper towel or dry cloth.

Coat with cooking oil spray. Place

• Place the arepas on a wire rack to cool down for a few minutes. Do not pile

them on top of one another after cooked, otherwise they will soften.

• Make sure the arepa dough ball does not overll the cooking surface

because the arepa will not cook all the way through.

• If the dough is too soft and hard to manage, place more our and knead

until it is easy to make a small ball. Make sure the dough is not too dry, it

should be soft to touch.

• When making the dough you can add a tablespoon of grated parmesan

cheese or salt for added avor.

• You can top with your favorite ingredient including but not limited to:

cheese, cold cuts, cooked meats, fresh vegetables such as tomato or

avocado.

• Let the arepas cool for a few minutes, then carefully by using an oven

• CABLES DE EXTENSIÓN

• ENCHUFE POLARIZADO

Este electrodoméstico tiene un enchufe polarizado (una pata del enchufe

es más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de descarga eléctrica, este

enchufe está diseñado para entrar de un sólo modo en la toma eléctrica. Si

el enchufe no entra totalmente en la toma de corriente, invierta su posición.

Si aun así no entrase, póngase en contacto con un electricista calicado. No

intente modicar el enchufe de ninguna manera.

1 . Este artefacto está diseñado sólo para uso doméstico y hornear arepas.

2 . Haga la masa de arepas siguiendo las instrucciones de la masa de maiz, y

deje a un lado para hornear las arepas. (Ver “Pasos para hacer arepas”)

3 . Suelte el pestillo y levante la tapa a la posición abierta.

4 . Cubra la capa antiadherente con una pequeña cantidad de aceite

vegetal. Esto puede hacerse con una toalla de papel o con un spray de

aceite para cocinar. Limpie el exceso de aceite. Se recomienda hacer

periódicamente este paso después de cada uso para mantener la calidad

de la capa antiadherente.

5 . Verique y conrme que la tensión del artefacto sea la misma que el

circuito de la red doméstica. A continuación, conecte el cordón eléctrico

al tomacorriente con cuidado. Asegúrese de que sea un tomacorriente

separado de otros artefactos para evitar que el circuito se sobrecargue.

6 . La luz indicadora roja se enciende cuando conecta el artefacto.

7 . Baje la tapa para precalentar el aparato hasta que la luz verde se

encienda. La luz indicadora verde se encenderá tan pronto como

el artefacto alcance la temperatura máxima de funcionamiento. El

artefacto estará listo para usar cuando la luz verde se enciende. Nota:

la luz indicadora verde se encenderá y se apagará durante el uso, más

no reeja las condiciones de cocción, solo los ciclos de temperatura de

mínimo a máximo.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO:

cierre la tapa utilizando un guante de cocina para evitar quemaduras mien-

tras cocina.

8 . Una vez la luz verde se encienda, abra cuidadosamente el artefacto

con un guante de cocina para evitar quemaduras al tocar la supercie

caliente.

9 . Coloque la masa en la horma de la placa inferior de su Arepa Maker.

Asegurese de no sobrellenar.

10. Cierre la tapa y deja cocinar de 7-10 minutos, o hasta que esté

completamente cocido.

11. Después de que las arepas estén listas, retire con cuidado con un

guante de cocina y un utensilio de madera o plástico resistente al calor.

No use utensilios de metal, porque pueden rayar y dañar la supercie.

12. Si cocina más de un lote, después de retirar el primer lote, utilice un

guante de cocina y cierre la tapa para mantener el calor, luego coloque

el lote siguiente. Nota: el tiempo de cocción puede variar entre lotes. No

deje el artefacto sin ninguna masa en su interior por mas de 2 minutos.

13. Tan pronto como haya terminado de cocinar, desconecte el artefacto y

deje que se enfríe.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO

El mantenimiento adecuado asegurará muchos años con su artefacto.

Limpie el artefacto después de cada uso. Este artefacto no contiene piezas

reparables por el usuario y requiere poco mantenimiento.

ADVERTENCIA: Desenchufe el artefacto y déjelo enfriar antes de limpiarlo

SÓLO PARA USO DOMÉSTICO

• Coloque las arepas sobre una rejilla para dejarlas enfriar por unos minu-

tos. No apile una encima de la otra ya que se pueden ablandar.

• Asegurese de no colocar mas masa de la necesaria, porque no se cocinara

completamente.

• Si la masa de maíz es demasiado blanda y difícil de manejar, vierta más

harina y amase hasta que sea fácil de manejar y luego haga una pequeña

bola. La masa no debe de estar dura, debe ser suave al tacto.

• Se puede añadir una cucharada de queso parmesano rallado y/o sal para

darle más sabor a la masa.

• Puede rellenar con su ingrediente preferido como por ejemplo queso,

embutidos, carne o pollo y/o vegetales frescos como tomate y aguacate.

Queso y Tomate

• Coloque todos los ingredientes, excepto la salsa de pesto, queso y

tomates, en un tazón grande y amasar bien con las manos

Queso Crema

• Mezclar la leche, el queso crema y la sal en un tazón.

• Mezcle hasta que quede suave

• Añadir el azúcar y la harina de maíz

• Mezclar bien con una espátula hasta que la masa este lista

• Coloque todos los ingredientes, excepto la carne mechada, en un tazón

Aguacate

• Coloque el harina, agua, sal y aceite en un tazón grande y amasar bien

con las manos

HOLSTEIN HOUSEWARES hereby warrants, subject to the terms and conditions

herein stated, that should this product become defective by reason of mechanical or

workmanship manufacturing defects during the specied warranty period, HOL-

STEIN HOUSEWARES will, at its option, either repair or replace this product found

to be defective. HOLSTEIN HOUSEWARES warrants that from the date of purchase,

this product will be free from mechanical manufacturing defects for a period of 180

days.

Transportation charges on parts, or products in whole, submitted for repair or re-

placement, under this warranty, must be borne by the purchaser.

ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT WARRANTY

The warranty service would NOT apply if the product damage occurred because of

misuse, lack of routine maintenance, shipping, handling, warehousing, or improper

modied. During the Retailer Return Policy, the Retailer may exchange or refund any

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of

the following: negligent use or misuse of the product; improper voltage or current;

use contrary to the operating instructions and manual; deviation from instructions

regarding storage and transportation; repair or alteration by anyone other than

HOLSTEIN HOUSEWARES or an authorized service center. Further, the warranty

does not cover Acts of God, such as re, ood, hurricanes, and tornadoes.

HOLSTEIN HOUSEWARES shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential

damages caused by the breach of any express or implied warranty. Except to the

extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty of merchantability or

tness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above

warranty. Some states, provinces or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limi-

tation of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied

warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. This
