INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Completely clean the outside of the heater with detergent and warm water. Do not use
solvent-based cleaners. Make sure that the water heater is completely dry.
2. With the vinyl side out, and starting at the top edge, wrap the 75" length of the insulation
around the water heater. Mark the vinyl at the point the insulation overlaps.
3. Using a knife and a straight edge, cut the jacket along the line marked at the overlap.
Cut 3 strips of tape 6" long and tape the insulation together at the top, middle and bottom.
4. Cut out insulation over burner control area on gas units and thermostat on electric unit.
Center and apply tape down the entire length of the seam.
5. For gas heaters: Do not insulate the top of gas water heaters.
For oil heaters: Cut the remaining tape into pieces of approx. 6". Then tape the excess
insulation to the top of the water heater.
For electric heaters: Cut the excess insulation to fit around hot and cold water pipes and the
relief valve. Then use the remaining tape to fasten insulation to the top of the water heater.
Precautions: Avoid contact with skin or eyes. Wear long-sleeved, loose-fitting clothing, gloves
and eye protection. Wash with soap and water after handling.
**“R” means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R value, the greater the insulating power.

Instructions:
WARNING FOR GAS HEATERS: Make sure the blanket does not block venting across
the top of the heater and does not obstruct the air flow into the burner area.
WARNING FOR ELECTRIC HEATERS: Take care that the insulation does not cover
heating element controls or the power connection. Failure to do so can cause an
electric shock.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Limpie completamente el exterior del calentador con detergente y agua tibia. No utilice limpiadores
a base de disolvente. Asegúrese que el calentador esté completamente seco.
2. Con el lado de vinilo hacia afuera, y comenzando con el borde superior, envuelva el largo de 75"
del aislamiento alrededor del calentador de agua. Marque el vinilo en el punto de coincidencia.
3. Utilizando un cuchillo y un borde recto, corte el aislamiento a lo largo de la línea marcada en la
superposición. Corte tres tiras de cinta de 6" de largo y pegue el aislamiento juntos en la parte
superior, medio e inferior.
4. Corte el área de aislamiento sobre las unidades de control del quemador de gas y el termostato
en la unidad eléctrica. Centre y aplique cinta a lo largo de toda la junta.
5. Para los calentadores de gas: No aisle la parte superior de los calentadores de agua de gas.
Para los calentadores de aceite: Corte la cinta restante en pedazos de aprox. 6".
Pegue el exceso del aislamiento a la parte superior del calentador de agua.
Para los calentadores eléctricos: Corte el exceso de aislamiento para ir alrededor de las tuberías
de agua y la válvula de alivio. Con el restante de la cinta, pegue el aislamiento a la parte superior
del calentador de agua.
Precauciones: Evite el contacto con la piel o los ojos. Use mangas largas, ropa holgada, guantes
y protección para los ojos. Lave con agua tibia y jabón después de manipular.
**“R” significa la resistencia al flujo de calor. Cuanto mayor sea el R-valor, mayor será
el poder aislante.

Instrucciones:
AVISO PARA CALENTADORES DE GAS: Asegúrese que la manta no bloquee la ventilación
en la parte superior de la estufa y no obstruir el flujo de aire en el área del quemador.
AVISO PARA CALENTADORES ELÉCTRICOS: Tenga cuidado de que el aislamiento no cubre
los elementos de control de calefacción o de la conexión eléctrica. No hacerlo podría
causar una descarga eléctrica.
