By purchasing the SilverCrest SPWSD 180 A2 bathroom scale, hereinafter referred to as the
bathroom scale, you have opted for a quality product.
Before first using it, familiarize yourself with the way the bathroom scale works and read these
operating instructions through carefully. Be careful to follow the safety instructions and only use the
bathroom scale as described in the operating instructions and for the applications given. Keep
these operating instructions in a safe place. If you pass the bathroom scale on to someone else,
make sure to give them all the relevant documents with it.
1. Safety instructions
Before using the bathroom scale for the first time, carefully read
the following instructions and obey all warnings, even if you are
familiar with handling electronic devices. Keep this user manual
safe for future reference. If you sell or give the bathroom scale
away, provide this user manual, too.
Explanation of the symbols used
This symbol identifies an impending dangerous situation that, if
not avoided, could result in major injuries or even death.
This symbol warns against possible property damage.
This symbol shows that the bathroom scale must not
be used with moist or wet feet. Also do not use it if
the surface of the scale is moist or wet. You could
slip and be injured.
This symbol indicates that the bathroom scale must
not be loaded with more than 180 kg or 396 lb or
28.3 st. Otherwise, the bathroom scale may be
damaged and you could be injured.

on the topic.
• Do not allow children to play with the bathroom scale. Also,
keep the packaging plastic bag away from children. It can
cause suffocation.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by
a person responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
• Do not step on the bathroom scale with moist or wet feet or
when the surface of the scale is moist. You could slip and be
injured.
• Do not place a load greater than 180 kg, 396 lb or 28.3 st
on the bathroom scale. Otherwise, the bathroom scale may
be damaged and you could be injured.
• Do not jump on the surface of the bathroom scale. This could
damage the device and you could be injured.
• If the batteries have leaked, remove them to avoid damaging
the bathroom scale. You can remove battery acid that has
leaked using a dry absorbent cloth. Wear appropriate
gloves while doing this! Avoid skin contact. If electrolyte
comes into contact with skin or eyes, wash the area for at
least 15 minutes using clean water and see a doctor.

• Exercise care in handling batteries in order to prevent
shorting with conducting materials, such as rings, coins,
bracelets, and keys. The battery or the conductor can
overheat and cause burns.
• Do not dispose of the battery in a fire.
• Do not open or mutilate a battery or cell. Electrolyte from the
cell is corrosive and can cause damage to the eyes or skin.
The cell contents can also be hazardous if ingested.
• Only cells or batteries identified as "rechargeable" should be
charged.
• During normal use, batteries should not reach temperature
extremes that could cause burns. To mitigate potential burns,
batteries should not be handled immediately after use of the
device or charging.
• Charging a primary battery, by any means, may result in
leakage, fire, or explosion.
• Never short-circuit batteries, as this may lead to high
temperatures, leakage, fire, or explosion.
• Batteries should not be disassembled, crushed, punctured, or
otherwise mutilated. Such abuses may result in leakage, fire,
or explosion.
• Batteries should not be heated or exposed to temperatures
exceeding the manufacturer´s recommended maximum
temperature. Such thermal exposure may lead to leakage,
fire, or explosion.
• Chemical Burn Hazard. Keep batteries away from children.

• Keep cells and batteries out of reach of children, especially
small batteries fitting within the limits of the gauge as defined
in Figure 1. Ingestion may lead to choking or acute and
serious personal injury.

• Immediately seek medical attention if a cell or battery has
been swallowed. Also, contact your local poison control
center.
• This product contains a lithium button/coin cell battery. If a
new or used lithium button/coin cell battery is swallowed or
enters the body, it can cause severe internal burns and can
lead to death in as little as 2 hours. Always completely
secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment
does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the
batteries, and keep it away from children. If you think
batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any
part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

• If you see smoke, hear unusual noises or smell odors, remove
the batteries from the bathroom scale immediately. In these
cases, do not use the bathroom scale again before it has
been checked by an expert. Do not inhale the smoke from a
possible device fire. If you have inhaled the smoke, see a
doctor. Inhaling smoke can damage your health.
• To avoid hazards, do not damage the bathroom scale.
• Do not expose the bathroom scale to direct sources of heat
(for example, heaters), to direct sunlight or artificial light.
Also avoid contact with splashed water, dripping water or
aggressive liquids. Do not use the bathroom scale near
water. In particular, do not immerse the bathroom scale (do
not place objects filled with liquid, for example, vases or
beverages, on the bathroom scale). Make sure that the
bathroom scale is not subjected to excessive vibrations or
shaking. Furthermore, do not let any foreign bodies get
inside. This could damage the bathroom scale.
• Make sure that no open fires (for example, burning candles)
are placed on or near the bathroom scale. There is the
danger of fire!
• Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most
suitable for the intended use.
• Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior
to the battery installation.
• Remove batteries from equipment that is not to be used for
an extended period of time.

• Remove used batteries promptly.
• Battery contacts need to be clean, both on the battery and in
the appliance.
• Batteries should be removed from the appliance when not
being used for long periods of time (months).
• Choose the proper battery for the intended application.
Follow the recommendations supplied with the appliance.
• Never charge a battery unless the battery label specifically
states that it is a rechargeable battery.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Do not mix different types of batteries such as alkaline,
carbon-zinc, or rechargeable batteries.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Exhausted batteries is to be removed from the product.
• Batteries should be stored in a cool dry place to prevent high
temperature degradation.
• Contacts on the battery and in the device should be kept
clean.
• Follow the recommendations supplied with the device for
purchasing the proper battery.
• Proper polarity must be observed to avoid charging or
damage to either equipment or batteries.

2. Intended use
This bathroom scale is used to determine a person's weight. It may not be used outdoors or in
tropical climates. This bathroom scale has not been designed for corporate or commercial
applications. Use the bathroom scale for private purposes in residential areas only. Any use other
than that mentioned above does not correspond to the intended use. Only use the accessories
specified by the manufacturer.
Observe the regulations and laws in the country of use.

6. Before using
6.1 Activating the batteries
Remove the strip from the battery compartment (4) on the
bottom of the bathroom scale. The scale is now ready for use.
7. Getting started
7.1 Switching on the bathroom scale / measuring weight
The bathroom scale must be calibrated before first use or after having been
moved to ensure that it can determine one's weight precisely. To do so, step
briefly on to the scale surface (2), step off it again and wait until the bathroom
scale switches off automatically. The bathroom scale is now calibrated.
Due to the Step-On-Power function, the bathroom scale is switched on automatically when you step
on the scale surface (2) and starts to measure your weight immediately.
In its original state, the bathroom scale is set to the “kg” unit of weight. To change the unit of
weight, press the “Button for Setting the Weight Unit” (3). The selected unit of weight is then
indicated on the LC display (1).
Stand on the scale surface (2) of the bathroom scale so that your weight is evenly distributed.
Remain as still as possible during the weighing process as the measurement result may be distorted
otherwise. The measurement result is indicated on the LC display (1) during the weighing process.
The measurement is complete when the display flashes three times.
A solid surface is required to measure weight correctly. Thus always place the
bathroom scale on a solid, horizontal floor covering and never on carpet. This
can distort the measurement result.

To obtain comparable measurement results, you should always weigh yourself
if possible at the same time of day (preferably in the morning). Always weigh
yourself if possible under the same conditions: on an empty stomach, after
having gone to the toilet and naked.
Please note that values for the stone unit of weight are not represented as
decimal values. The display is divided into two segments by a colon. Whole
numbers are displayed only in the “st” unit of weight to the left of the colon. The
remaining weight is displayed in the “lb” unit of weight to the right of the colon.
Example: “6: 8.0 st” is shown on the display. This corresponds to 6 st and 8 lb.
7.2 Auto power off
The bathroom scale has an automatic switch-off function (Auto Power Off function).
• The bathroom scale switches off automatically approx. 15 seconds after stepping off the scale
surface (2).
• The bathroom scale also switches off automatically approx. 15 seconds after the weight
measurement if you do not step off the scale surface (2).
7.3 Replacing the batteries
Replace the batteries when they are empty. To replace the
CR2032 lithium batteries, remove the cover of the battery
compartment (4) at the rear of the bathroom scale by inserting
a finger into the recess of the battery compartment (4). Then lift
the cover of the battery compartment (4) upwards and remove
it.
To remove the batteries, slide them down a bit (see the
direction of the arrow in the illustration). You can then remove
the batteries from the holder.
Then insert two new CR2032 lithium batteries. Always pay
attention to the polarity. It is indicated in the battery
compartment (4), and the plus symbol on the CR2032 lithium
batteries must be visible, as shown in the adjacent illustration.
Next, replace the battery compartment cover on the battery
compartment (4). The bathroom scale is now ready to use.

8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Nothing is indicated on the LC display
• The CR2032 lithium batteries are empty. Replace the CR2032 lithium batteries with new
ones of the same type. Please note the instructions in the “Replacing the batteries” section.
• The CR2032 lithium batteries are inserted incorrectly. Please note the instructions in the
“Replacing the batteries” section.
8.2 “Lo” is indicated on the LC display, and the scale switches off
• The CR2032 lithium batteries are almost empty. Replace the CR2032 lithium batteries with
new ones of the same type. Please note the instructions in the “Replacing the batteries”
section.
8.3 “Err” is indicated on the LC display
• The weight exceeds the maximum weight of 180 kg / 396 lb. You should step off the scale
surface (2) immediately to avoid any damage to the bathroom scale.
9. Maintenance/cleaning
Maintenance is required if the bathroom scale has been damaged. For example, if the device
housing was damaged, liquid or objects penetrated the interior of the bathroom scale, or if it was
exposed to rain or moisture. Maintenance is also required if the bathroom scale does not work
properly or was dropped. If you notice any smoke, unusual noises or strange smells, disconnect the
bathroom scale immediately from the batteries. If this occurs, do not continue to use the bathroom
scale and have it checked out by an expert. All maintenance work must be carried out by qualified
specialist personnel. Never open the housing of the bathroom scale. Clean it with a clean, dry cloth
only. Never use aggressive liquids.
10. Environmental information and disposal specifications
10.1 Disposing of the packaging
Sort the packaging, before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and
cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrappings with appropriate
collection service.

10.2 Disposing of used devices
Do not dispose of used devices in household trash! If you are not going to use the bathroom scale
anymore, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable regulations in your state or country. This
ensures that used devices are recycled professionally and that there are no negative consequences
for the environment.
Make sure that disposal conforms to the local regulations and the EPA recommendations
(www.epa.gov).
10.3 Disposing of batteries
Remove the battery from the device before it is scrapped. Even used cells may cause injury. Keep
environmental protection in mind. Used batteries do not belong in household trash. You must drop
them off at a collection point for used batteries. Keep in mind that batteries may only be deposited
in the collection bin for used device batteries when discharged or if, in the case of batteries that are
only partially discharged, you have taken measures to prevent short circuits.

12. Warranty
3 years limited warranty
What does this warranty cover?
The warranty covers:
• Damage, breakage or inoperability due to defect.
• Damage not caused by normal wear and tear or failure to follow the safety and maintenance
instructions provided in the user manual.
What is not covered by the warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage caused by:
• Normal wear and tear of the product, including fragile parts (such as switches, glass, etc.);
• Improper use or transport;
• Disregarding safety and maintenance instructions;
• Accidents or acts of nature (e.g. lightning, fire, water, etc.);
• Tampering with the product (such as removing cover, unscrewing screws etc.)
Consequential and incidental damages are also not covered under this warranty. However, some
states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this
limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
What is the period of coverage and warranty resolution?
The warranty is for 3 years from the date of purchase. At our discretion, product will either be
refunded or replaced.

6. Antes de usar
6.1 Activación de las baterías
Retire la tira del compartimiento de la batería (4) en la parte
inferior de la báscula de baño. La báscula ahora ya está lista
para su uso.
7. Primeros pasos
7.1 Encendido de la báscula de baño / medición de peso
La báscula de baño debe calibrarse antes del primer uso o después de
haberla movido para garantizar que pueda determinar el peso con precisión.
Para hacerlo, pise brevemente la superficie de la báscula (2), bájese
nuevamente y espere hasta que la báscula de baño se apague
automáticamente. La báscula de baño ahora está calibrada.
Debido a la función Step-On-Power, la báscula de baño se enciende automáticamente cuando
pisa la superficie de la báscula (2) y comienza a medir su peso de inmediato.
En su estado original, la báscula de baño está ajustada a la unidad de peso "kg". Para cambiar la
unidad de peso, presione el “Botón para configurar la unidad de peso” (3). La unidad de peso
seleccionada se indica en la pantalla LCD (1).
Párese en la superficie de la báscula (2) de la báscula de baño para que su peso se distribuya
uniformemente. Permanezca lo más quieto posible durante el proceso de pesaje ya que de lo
contrario el resultado de la medición puede distorsionarse. El resultado de la medición se indica en
la pantalla LC (1) durante el proceso de pesaje. La medición se completa cuando la pantalla
parpadea tres veces.
Se requiere un piso de superficie sólida para medir el peso correctamente. Por
lo tanto, siempre coloque la báscula de baño sobre un piso sólido, horizontal y
nunca sobre alfombras. Esto puede distorsionar el resultado de la medición.

Para obtener resultados de medición comparables, si es posible siempre debe
pesarse a la misma hora del día (preferiblemente por la mañana). Si es posible
siempre debe pesarse en las mismas condiciones: Con el estómago vacío,
después de haber ido al baño y desnudo.
Tenga en cuenta que los valores para la unidad de peso "st" no se representan
como valores decimales. La pantalla está dividida en dos segmentos por dos
puntos. Los números enteros se muestran solo en la unidad de peso “st” a la
izquierda de los dos puntos. El peso restante se muestra en la unidad de peso
“lb” a la derecha de los dos puntos.
Ejemplo: “6: 8.0 st” se muestra en la pantalla. Esto corresponde a 6 st y 8 lb.
7.2 Apagado automático
La báscula de baño tiene una función de apagado automático (función de apagado automático).
• La báscula de baño se apaga de forma automática aproximadamente 15 segundos después
de bajar de la superficie de la báscula (2).
• La báscula de baño también se apagará de forma automática aproximadamente 15 segundos
después de la medición del peso si no se baja de la superficie de la báscula (2).
7.3 Reemplazo de la batería
Reemplace las baterías cuando estén agotadas. Para
reemplazar las baterías de litio CR2032, quite la tapa del
compartimiento de la batería (4) en la parte posterior de la
escala de baño insertando un dedo en el hueco del
compartimiento de la batería (4). Luego levante la tapa del
compartimiento de la batería (4) hacia arriba y retírela.
Para quitar la baterías, deslícelas un poco hacia abajo (vea la
dirección de la flecha en la ilustración). A continuación, puede
retirar las baterías del soporte.
Luego inserte dos nuevas baterías de litio CR2032. Siempre
preste atención a la polaridad. Se indica en el compartimento
de la batería (4), y el símbolo más en las baterías de litio
CR2032 debe estar visible, como se muestra en la ilustración
adyacente.
A continuación, vuelva a colocar la tapa del compartimento de
la batería en el compartimento de la batería (4). La báscula de
baño ya está lista para usar.

8. Solución de problemas
8.1 No se indica nada en la pantalla LC
• Las baterías de litio CR2032 están agotadas. Reemplace las baterías de litio CR2032 por
otras nuevas del mismo tipo. Tenga en cuenta las instrucciones de la sección "Reemplazo de
las baterías".
• Las baterías de litio CR2032 están insertadas incorrectamente. Tenga en cuenta las
instrucciones de la sección "Reemplazo de las baterías".
8.2 "Lo" se indica en la pantalla LCD y la báscula se apaga
• Las baterías CR2032 están casi agotadas. Reemplace las baterías de litio CR2032 por otras
nuevas del mismo tipo. Tenga en cuenta las instrucciones de la sección "Reemplazo de las
baterías".
8.3 "Err" se indica en la pantalla LCD
• El peso excede el peso máximo permitido de 180 kg o 396 lb. Debe salir de la superficie
de la báscula (2) inmediatamente para evitar daños a la báscula de baño.
9. Mantenimiento y limpieza
Se requiere mantenimiento si la báscula de baño se ha dañado. Por ejemplo, si la carcasa del
dispositivo estaba dañada, líquidos u objetos penetraron en el interior de la báscula de baño, o si
estuvo expuesto a la lluvia o la humedad. También se requiere mantenimiento si la báscula de
diagnóstico no funciona correctamente o se cayó. Si nota humo, ruidos inusuales u olores extraños,
desconecte la báscula de baño inmediatamente de las baterías. Si esto ocurre, no continúe usando
la báscula de baño y haga que un experto la revise. Todo mantenimiento debe ser efectuado por
técnicos autorizados. Nunca abra la carcasa de la báscula de baño. Límpiela solo con un paño
limpio y seco. Nunca use líquidos agresivos.
10. Información ambiental y especificaciones de desecho
10.1 Desecho del empaque
Clasifique el empaque, antes de desecharlo. Deseche el papel y el cartón con el
servicio de papel reciclado y las envolturas con el servicio de recolección
adecuado.

10.2 Desecho de dispositivos usados
¡No deseche los dispositivos usados en la basura doméstica! Si ya no va a utilizar la báscula de

10.3 Desecho de las baterías
