Important Warranty Information Regarding Television Format Viewing
• Screen Image retention
Do not display a still image (such as that from a video game) on the plasma display panel for more than a few minutes. Still images can cause screen
image retention (burn in). To avoid such image retention, reduce the degree of brightness and contrast of the screen when displaying a still image.
• Heat on the top of the Plasma TV
The top side of the TV may become hot after long periods of use as heat dissipates from the panel through the vent hole in the upper part of the TV.
This is normal and does not indicate any defect or operational failure of unit.
However, children should be prevented from touching the upper part of the TV.
• The TV is making a ‘cracking’ noise.
A ‘cracking’ noise may occur when the TV contracts or expands due to a change in the surrounding environment such as temperature or humidity.
This is normal and not a defect.
• Cell Defects
The PDP uses a panel consisting of 1,226,880(SD-level) to 6,221,000 (FHD-level) pixels which require sophisticated technology to produce.
However, there may be a few bright or dark pixels on the screen. These pixels will have no impact on the performance of the product.
• Avoid operating the TV at temperatures below 41°F (5°C)
• A still image displayed too long may cause permanent damage to the PDP Panel.
Watching the Plasma TV in 4:3 format for a long period of time may leave traces of the borders on the left, right, top, or bottom
of the screen. Playing a DVD or a game console may have a similar effect.
Damage caused by the above effect is not covered by the warranty.
• After-images on the Screen.
Displaying still images from Video games for longer than a certain period of time may produce partial after-images.
To prevent this effect, reduce the ‘brightness’ and ‘contrast’ when displaying still images for a long time.
• Warranty
Warranty does not cover any damage caused by image retention.
Burn-in is not covered by the warranty.

Using the TV’s Controller (Panel Key)
✎
The product color and shape may vary depending on the model.
Power on Turns the TV on by pressing the controller in standby mode.
Adjusting the volume Adjusts the volume by moving the controller from side to side when the power is on.
Selecting a channel Selects a channel by moving the controller up and down when the power is on.
Using the function menu
Press the controller when the power is on, then the function menu screen appears. If you press it
again, the function menu screen disappears.

) by moving the controller in the function menu screen. The OSD(On Screen
Display) of your TV’s feature appears.

Standby mode
Your TV enters Standby mode when you turn it off and continues to consume a small amount of electric power. To be safe
and to decrease power consumption, do not leave your TV in standby mode for long periods of time (when you are away on
vacation, for example). It is best to unplug the power cord.

Connecting to an Antenna
When the TV is initially powered on, basic settings proceed automatically.
✎
Connecting the power cord and antenna.

The PDP device may interfere with an amateur radio or AM radio.
✎
When using two-way radio mobile and portable units or amateur radio or AM radio near by your TV, this may cause the
TV to malfunction.
✎
The position of power input port may differ depending on the model.
Setup (Initial Setup)
When the TV is initially powered on, a sequence of on-screen prompts will assist in configuring basic settings. Press the POWER

button.
Setup is available only when the Source is set to TV.

To start the Setup, enter the password using the remote control. The default password is 0-0-0-0.
✎
To return to the previous step, press the Previous button.

• Store Demo is only for shop display. If you select it, several functions are not able to use. Please select Home Use when

3. Auto Program (1): Selecting how you watch your TV
Let’s find and store channels on your TV. Do you need to search for channels?
• Yes, I need to.: Memorize all of the available channels using RF cable.
• No, I don’t need to.: Do not need Auto program when connecting a TV to set-top box.

You can complete Setup by selecting it.
4. Auto Program (2): Selecting and memorizing channels
Select the Next to run Auto Program.
Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select Air or Cable, and then press the ENTER

The channel search will start automatically.

version of HDMI mode is connected to the TV. If such a problem occurs, ask the manufacturer of the external device

How to use Edit Name
In the Source, press the TOOLS button, and then you can set an external input sources name you want.

Channel Menu
¦ Using the INFO button (Now & Next guide)
The display identifies the current channel and the status of
certain audio-video settings.
The Now & Next guide shows daily TV program information
for each channel according to the broadcasting time.

3. Press the ▲ / ▼ buttons to select the desired program,
then press the ENTER

Set each channel using the Channel List menu options
(Program View, Edit Favorites, Lock/Unlock, Channel
Name Edit, Delete, Information, Change Antenna, Edit
Mode). Option menu items may differ depending on the
channel status.
1. Select a channel and press the TOOLS button.
2. Select a function and change its settings.
■ Program View: Displays the program when digital
channel is selected.
■ Edit Favorites

: Set channels you watch
frequently as favorites. Add or delete the selected
channel in Favorites 1-5.

■ Change Antenna: Switches to Air or Cable.
■ Edit Mode: You can select desired channels and edit it.

Using Option Menu in Edit Mode

Press the ◄/► button to select the channel mode
(Added Ch. / All Channels / Favorites 1-5).
• Added Ch.: Shows all added channels.
• All Channels: Shows all currently available
channels.
• Favorites 1-5: Shows all favorite channels.
Favorites 1-5 will be displayed when you set Edit
Favorites.
Set each channel using the menu options (Edit
Favorites, Lock/Unlock, Add/Delete, Deselect, Select
All). The option menu items that appear may differ
depending on the channel status and type.
1. Press the TOOLS button in Channel List screen,
then select the Edit Mode. A check box appears to
the left of the channel.
2. Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select the desired
channel, then press the ENTER

a favorite channel to any one of the groups.
Press the ▲/▼ buttons to select a group.
• Lock/Unlock: Lock a channel so that the channel
cannot be selected and viewed.

This function is available only when the
Channel Lock is set to On.

The PIN input screen appears. Enter your
4-digit PIN, the default of which is “0-0-0-0”.
Change the PIN using the Change PIN option.
• Add/Delete: Delete or add a channel to display the
channels you want.

The Add menu is only available in All
Channels.

The Add menu only appears for deleted
channels.

A gray-colored channel indicates the channel
has been deleted.
• Deselect: Deselect the selected channels.
• Select All: Select all the channels in the channel list.

Guide
The EPG (Electronic Program Guide) information is provided
by broadcasters. Using program schedules provided by
broadcasters, you can specify programs you want to watch
in advance so that the channel automatically changes to the
selected program channel at the specified time. Program
entries may appear blank or out of date depending on a
channel status.

• Antenna: Select the desired broadcasting signal.

• Repeat: Select Once, Manual, Sat~Sun, Mon~Fri
or Everyday to set at your convenience. If you
select Manual, you can set the day you want.

• Date: You can set the desired date.

If you want to edit or cancel the schedule, select
the reserved schedule on the Booking List. Press

Auto Program
Scans for a channel automatically and stores in the TV.
■ Air: Air antenna signal.
■ Cable: Cable antenna signal.

Automatically allocated program numbers may not
correspond to actual or desired program numbers. If a
channel is locked, the PIN input window appears.

If the antenna is connected to ANT 2 IN (CABLE), select
Cable and if it is connected to ANT 1 IN (AIR), select
Air.

If both ANT 1 IN and ANT 2 IN are connected, select
both Air and Cable.
How to Stop Auto Programming

Fine Tune
(analog channels only)
If the reception is clear, you do not have to fine tune the
channel, as this is done automatically during the search and
store operation. If the signal is weak or distorted, fine tune
the channel manually.
■ Select Fine Tune in the Channel menu.

Fine tuned channels that have been saved are marked
with an asterisk “*” on the right side of the channel
number in the channel banner.

To reset the fine-tuning, select Reset.

effectively remove after-images on the screen. If
the after-image is not removed after performing the

Installing the Latest Version
■ By USB: Insert a USB drive containing the firmware
upgrade file, downloaded from “www.samsung.com”
into the TV. Please be careful not to disconnect the
power or remove the USB drive until upgrades are
complete. The TV will be turned off and on automatically
after completing the firmware upgrade. When software
is upgraded, video and audio settings you have made
will return to their default settings. We advise you to write
down your settings so that you can easily reset them
after the upgrade.
■ Alternative Software: Replace the current software with

Need-to-Know List before using Media Contents
• MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) is not supported.
• The file system supports NTFS (Read Only), FAT16 and FAT32.
• Certain types of USB Digital camera and audio devices may not be compatible with this TV.
• Media Contents only supports USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) devices. MSC is a Mass Storage Class Bulk-Only
Transport device. Examples of MSC are Thumb drives, Flash Card Readers (USB HUB are not supported). Devices
should be connected directly to the TV’s USB port.
• Before connecting your device to the TV, please back up your files to prevent them from damage or loss of data.
SAMSUNG is not responsible for any data file damage or data loss.
• The HDD (Hard Disk Drive) connected to USB is not supported.
• Do not disconnect the USB device while it is loading.
• The higher the resolution of the image, the longer it takes to display on the screen.
• The maximum supported JPEG resolution is 15360 x 8640 pixels.
• For unsupported or corrupted files, the “Not Supported File Format” message is displayed.
• MP3 files with DRM that have been downloaded from a non-free site cannot be played. Digital Rights Management
(DRM) is a technology that supports the creation, distribution and management of the content in an integrated and
comprehensive way, including the protection of the rights and interests of the content providers, the prevention of the
illegal copying of contents, as well as managing billings and settlements.
• A USB device that requires high power (more than 500mA or 5V) may not be supported.
• If the TV has been no input during time set in Auto Protection Time, the Screensaver will run.
• The power-saving mode of some external hard disk drives may be released automatically when connected to the TV.
• If a USB extension cable is used, the USB device may not be recognized or the files on the device may not be read.
• If a USB device connected to the TV is not recognized, the list of files on the device is corrupted or a file in the list is
not played, connect the USB device to the PC, format the device and check the connection.
• If a file deleted from the PC is still found when Media Contents is run, use the “Empty the Recycle Bin” function on the
PC to permanently delete the file.

• If the number of files and folders saved on a USB storage device is approximately over 4000, the files and folders may
not appear and some folders may not be opened.
Disconnecting a USB Device
• Method 1: Using the SOURCE button.
1. Press the SOURCE button.
2. Select a desired USB device, and then press the TOOLS button. The Tools menu appears.
3. Select Safely Remove USB, and then wait until the selected USB device is disconnected. You can remove a
USB device from the TV.
• Method 2: Using the Media Play home screen.
1. Go to Media Play home screen.
2. Select any category, and then press the ENTERE button.
3. Select a desired USB device, and then press the TOOLS button. The Tools menu appears.
4. Select Safely Remove USB, and then wait until the selected USB device is disconnected. You can remove a
USB device from the TV.

To remove a USB device from the TV, we recommend use Safely Remove USB function.

Installing the Wall Mount
Wall or Ceiling Mounting
The product should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer. Unless it
is correctly mounted, the product may slide or fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious
damage to the product.
Installing the Wall Mount Kit
The wall mount kit (sold separately) allows you to mount the TV on the wall.
For detailed information on installing the wall mount, see the instructions provided with the wall mount. Contact a technician for
assistance when installing the wall mount bracket. Samsung Electronics is not responsible for any damage to the product or
injury to yourself or others if you elect to install the TV on your own.

Securing the TV to the Wall
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing onto the TV may cause the TV to fall. In particular, ensure that your children do not hang over or
destabilize the TV; doing so may cause the TV to tip over, resulting in serious injuries or death. Follow all safety precautions provided on
the included Safety Flyer. For added stability, install the anti-fall device for safety purposes, as follows.
¦ To avoid the TV from falling
1. Put the screws into the clamps and firmly fasten them onto the wall.
Confirm that the screws have been firmly installed onto the wall.

You may need additional material such as an anchor
depending on the type of wall.
✎
Since the necessary clamps, screws, and string are not
supplied, please purchase these additionally.
2. Remove the screws from the center back of the TV, put the screws
into the clamps, and then fasten the screws onto the TV again.

Screws may not be supplied with the product. In this case,
please purchase the screws of the following specifications.

Screw Specifications

3. Connect the clamps fixed onto the TV and the clamps fixed onto
the wall with a strong string and then tie the string tightly.

NOTE
• Install the TV near to the wall so that it does not fall
backwards.
• It is safe to connect the string so that the clamps fixed on
the wall are equal to or lower than the clamps fixed on the
TV.
• Untie the string before moving the TV.
4. Verify all connections are properly secured. Periodically check
connections for any sign of fatigue for failure. If you have any doubt
about the security of your connections, contact a professional
installer.
Anti-theft Kensington Lock
The Kensington Lock is not supplied by Samsung. It is a device used to physically fix the system when using it in a public
place. The appearance and locking method may differ from the illustration depending on the manufacturer. Refer to the manual
provided with the Kensington Lock for additional information on proper use.

To lock the product, follow these steps:
1. Wrap the Kensington lock cable around a large, stationary object
such as desk or chair.
2. Slide the end of the cable with the lock attached through the
looped end of the Kensington lock cable.
3. Insert the locking device into the Kensington slot on the product.
4. Lock the lock.

Troubleshooting
If the TV seems to have a problem, first try this list of possible problems and solutions. If none of these troubleshooting tips
apply, visit “www.samsung.com”, then click on Support, or call Samsung customer service.
Issues Solutions and Explanations
Poor picture
First of all, please perform the Picture Test and confirm that your TV is properly displaying the test image.
●
Go to MENU - Support - Self Diagnosis - Picture Test
If the test image is properly displayed, the poor picture may be caused by the source or signal.
The TV image does not look as
good as it did in the store.
●
If you have an analog Cable/Set top box, upgrade to a digital set top box. Use HDMI or Component cables to
deliver SD (Standard definition) picture quality.
●
Cable/Satellite subscribers: Try digital stations from the channel line up.
●
Air/Cable Antenna connection: Try digital stations after performing Auto program.
●
Adjust the Cable/Set top box video output resolution to 480p.
The picture is distorted:
macroblock error, small block,
dots, pixelization.
●
Compression of video contents may cause picture distortion, especially in fast moving pictures such as sports
and action movies.
●
Low signal level can cause picture distortion. This is not a TV problem.
●
Mobile phones used close to the TV (up to 3.3 ft) may cause noise in picture on analog and digital TV.
Color is wrong or missing.
●
If you’re using a component connection, make sure the component cables are connected to the correct jacks.
Incorrect or loose connections may cause color problems or a blank screen.
There is poor color or brightness.
●
Adjust the Picture options in the TV menu. (go to Picture Mode / Color / Brightness / Sharpness)
●
Adjust Energy Saving option in the TV menu (go to MENU - System - Eco Solution - Energy Saving)
●
Try resetting the picture to view the default picture setting. (go to MENU - Picture - Reset Picture)
There is a dotted line on the
edge of the screen.
●
If the picture size is set to Screen Fit, change it to 16:9.
●
Change cable/satellite box resolution.
The picture is black and white.
●
If you are using an AV composite input, connect the video cable (yellow) to the Green jack of component input
1 on the TV.
When changing channels, the
picture freezes or is distorted or
delayed.
●
If connected with a cable box, please try to reset the cable box. Reconnect the AC cord and wait until the
cable box reboots. It may take up to 20 minutes.
●
Set the output resolution of the cable box to 480p.
Sound Problem First of all, please perform the Sound Test to confirm that your TV audio is properly operating. (go to
MENU - Support - Self Diagnosis - Sound Test)
If the audio is ok, the sound problem may be caused by the source or signal.
There is no sound or the sound
is too low at maximum volume.
●
Please check the volume of the device (Cable/Sat Box, DVD, Blu-ray etc) connected to your TV.
The picture is good but there is
no sound.
●
If you are using an external device, check the device’s audio output option (ex. you may need to change your
cable box’s audio option to HDMI when you have a HDMI connected to your TV).
●
Reboot the connected device by reconnecting the device’s power cable.
The speakers are making an
inappropriate noise.
●
Check the cable connections. Make sure a video cable is not connected to an audio input.
●
For Antenna or Cable connections, check the signal information. Low signal level may cause sound distortion.
●
Perform the Sound Test as explained above.

Issues Solutions and Explanations
No Picture, No Video
The TV will not turn on.
●
Make sure the AC power cord is securely plugged into the wall outlet and the TV.
●
Make sure the wall outlet is working.
●
Try pressing the POWER button on the TV to make sure the problem is not the remote control. If the TV turns
on, refer to ‘Remote control does not work’ below.
The TV turns off automatically.
●
Ensure the Sleep Timer is set to Off in the System menu.
●
Make sure the AC power cord is plugged in securely to the wall outlet and the TV.
●
When watching TV from an antenna or cable connection, the TV will turn off after 10 - 15 minutes if there is no
signal.
There is no picture/video.
●
Check cable connections. (remove and reconnect all cables connected to the TV and external devices).
●
Set your external device’s (Cable/Set top box, DVD, Blu-ray etc) video outputs to match the connections to
the TV input. For example, if an external device’s output is HDMI, it should be connected to an HDMI input on
the TV.
●
Make sure your connected devices are powered on.
●
Be sure to select the TV’s correct source by pressing the SOURCE button on the remote control.
●
Reboot the connected device by reconnecting the device’s power cable.
Antenna(Air/Cable) Connection
The TV is not receiving all
channels.
●
Make sure the coaxial cable is connected securely.
●
Please try Auto Program to add available channels to the channel list. go to MENU - Channel - Auto
Program then select Auto and make sure the correct Cable TV signal type is set in the menu.
●
Verify the Antenna is positioned correctly.
No Caption on digital channels.
●
Check Caption setup menu.
●
Some channels may not have caption data.
The picture is distorted:
macroblock, error, small block,
dots, pixelization.
●
Compression of video contents may cause picture distortion, especially on fast moving pictures such as

A low signal can cause picture distortion. This is not a TV problem.

Purple/green rolling horizontal
bars and buzzing noise from the
TV speakers with Component
cable connection.
●
Remove the left and right audio connections from the set-top-box. If the buzzing stops, this indicates that the
set-top-box has a grounding issue. Replace the Component video cables with an HDMI connection.
The picture will not display in full
screen.
●
HD channels will have black bars on either side of the screen when displaying up scaled SD (4:3) contents.
●
Black bars on the top and bottom will appear during movies that have aspect ratios different from your TV.
●
Adjust the picture size options on your external device or TV to full screen.
Plasma TV is making humming
noise.
●
Plasma TVs typically make a soft humming sound. This is normal. It’s caused by the electrical charges that are
used to create the images on the screen.
●
If the humming sound is loud, you may have set the brightness on the TV too high. Try setting the brightness
lower.
●
You can also have loud humming if the back of your Plasma TV is too close to a wall or other hard surface.
Also try rerouting your connection cables.
●
Improper installation of wall mount can create excessive noise.

Issues Solutions and Explanations
Image Retention (Burn In) Issue.
●
To minimize the possibility of screen burn, this unit is equipped with Pixel Shift screen burn reduction
technology. Pixel Shift lets you set the picture so it moves slightly up and down (Vertical Line) and side to side
(Horizontal Dot). The regular, slight movement of the picture reduces screen burn in.
The remote control does not
work.
●
Replace the remote control batteries with the poles (+/–) in the right direction.
●
Clean the sensor’s transmission window on the remote.
●
Try pointing the remote directly at the TV from 5~6 feet away.
The cable/set top box remote
control doesn’t turn the TV on or
off, or adjust the volume.
●
Program the Cable/Set top box remote control to operate the TV. Refer to the Cable/Set top box user manual
for the SAMSUNG TV code.
A “Mode Not Supported”
message appears.
●
Check the supported resolution of the TV, and adjust the external device’s output resolution accordingly.
Caption on TV menu is grayed
out.
●
Caption can not be selected in the TV menu when connected via HDMI or Component.
●
Caption must be activated on the external device.
There is a plastic smell from the
TV.
●
This smell is normal and will dissipate over time.
The TV Signal Information is
unavailable in the Self Diagnosis
Test menu.
●
This function is only available with digital channels from an Antenna / RF / Coax connection.

This is part of the product’s design and is not a defect.

it to watch TV.

Información importante sobre la garantía relativa al formato de visualización del
televisor
• Retención de imágenes en la pantalla
No deje imágenes fijas (como las de los videojuegos) en el panel de la pantalla de plasma durante varios minutos. Las imágenes fijas pueden causar
retenciones de imágenes (desgaste). Para evitar que se produzca esa persistencia de la imagen, reduzca el nivel de brillo y de contraste de la
pantalla cuando muestre imágenes fijas.
• Calor en la parte superior del TV de plasma
La parte superior del televisor puede calentarse tras un uso prolongado ya que el calor se disipa desde el panel a través de los orificios de
ventilación de la parte superior del aparato.
Esto es normal y no indica ningún defecto ni fallo de funcionamiento de la unidad.
No obstante, debe evitarse que los niños toquen la parte superior del televisor.
• El televisor emite una especie de ‘crujido’.
Es posible que el ‘crujido’ se produzca cuando el televisor se contrae o expande debido a un cambio en el ambiente que lo rodea, por ejemplo, en
la temperatura o humedad. Esto es normal y no constituye un defecto.
• Defectos de celda
La PDP utiliza un panel compuesto de 1.226.880 (nivel SD) a 6.221.000 (nivel FHD) píxeles que requieren una sofisticada tecnología para su
producción. No obstante, es posible que existan algunos píxeles brillantes u oscuros en la pantalla. Estos píxeles no influirán en el rendimiento del
producto.
• Evite que el televisor funcione a temperaturas por debajo de 41°F (5°C)
• La imagen fija visualizada durante demasiado tiempo puede causar daños permanentes en el panel de la PDP.
Ver el televisor de plasma en formato 4:3 durante un tiempo prolongado puede dejar rastros de bordes en la izquierda,
derecha, arriba o abajo de la pantalla. Reproducir un DVD o el uso de una consola pueden tener el mismo efecto.
La garantía no cubre los daños causados por dichos efectos.
• Imágenes fantasma en la pantalla.
Visualizar imágenes fijas de videojuegos por un período superior al determinado puede producir imágenes fantasma parciales.
Para evitar este efecto, reduzca el brillo y el contraste cuando visualice imágenes fijas durante un tiempo prolongado.

Uso del controlador del televisor (Tecla del panel)

El color y la forma del producto pueden variar según el modelo.
Encendido Enciende el televisor pulsando el controlador en modo de espera.
Ajuste del volumen Ajusta el volumen moviendo el controlador de lado a lado cuando el televisor está encendido.
Selección de un canal
Selecciona un canal moviendo el controlador hacia arriba y hacia abajo cuando el televisor está
encendido.
Uso del menú de funciones
Pulse el controlador cuando el televisor está encendido, luego aparece la pantalla del menú de
funciones. Si lo vuelve a pulsar, la pantalla del menú de funciones desaparece.

el controlador. Si lo presiona antes, no estará operativo para moverlo hacia arriba/abajo/izquierda/derecha.
Modo suspensión
Su televisor ingresa en el modo Suspensión cuando lo apaga y continúa consumiendo una pequeña cantidad de energía
eléctrica. Por motivos de seguridad y para disminuir el consumo de energía, no deje su televisor en modo Suspensión durante
períodos prolongados (cuando se va de vacaciones, por ejemplo). Es mejor desenchufar el cable de alimentación.

Este control remoto tiene puntos Braille en los botones de encendido, de canales y de volumen, y puede ser utilizado
por personas con discapacidades visuales.

Conexión a una antena
Cuando se enciende el televisor por primera vez, los parámetros de configuración básicos se establecen automáticamente.

Conexión del cable de alimentación y la antena.
✎
El dispositivo PDP puede interferir con una radio amateur o radio AM.
✎
Usar unidades portátiles y móviles emisoras/receptoras o radios amateur o AM cerca de su televisor puede hacer que
el televisor funcione incorrectamente.

La posición de la entrada de alimentación puede variar según el modelo.
Configuración (Configuración inicial)
Cuando se enciende el televisor por primera vez, una secuencia de indicaciones en pantalla le ayuda a configurar los parámetros de
configuración básicos. Pulse el botón POWER

Es posible que la imagen no se visualice normalmente (si se visualiza) o que el audio no funcione si se conecta al
televisor un dispositivo externo que utiliza una versión más antigua del modo HDMI. En este caso caso, póngase en
contacto con el fabricante del dispositivo externo para confirmar la versión HDMI y, si está desactualizada, solicitar
una actualización.

Asegúrese de comprar un cable HDMI certificado. De lo contrario, la imagen puede no aparecer o puede producirse
un error de conexión.

Se recomienda usar un cable HDMI básico de alta velocidad o un cable HDMI con Ethernet. Este producto no admite

¦ Uso del botón INFO (Guía actual y Siguiente)
La pantalla identifica el canal actual y el estado de
determinadas configuraciones de audio-video.
La guía Ahora y Siguiente muestra información de
programación de televisión diaria para cada canal según el
horario de emisión.

deseado mientras mira el canal actual.

Configure cada canal usando las opciones del menú
Lista de canales (Vista prog., Edit. favoritos, Bloquear/
Desbloquear, Edición de nombre de canal, Borrar,
Información, Cambiar antena, Modo Editar). Los
elementos del menú de opciones pueden variar según el
estado del canal.
1. Seleccione un canal y pulse el botón TOOLS.
2. Seleccione una función y cambie su configuración.
■ Vista prog.: Muestra el programa cuando se selecciona
un canal digital.
■ Edit. favoritos

: Configure los canales que mira
con frecuencia como favoritos. Añada o borre el canal
seleccionado en Favoritos 1-5.

■ Modo Editar: Puede seleccionar los canales deseados

canal(Can. agrds. / Todos los canales / Favoritos 1-5).
• Can. agrds.: Muestra todos los canales añadidos.
• Todos los canales: Muestra todos los canales
disponibles actualmente.
• Favoritos 1-5: Muestra todos los canales favoritos.
Se mostrará Favoritos 1-5 cuando se encuentra
configurada la opción Edit. favoritos.
Configure cada canal usando las opciones del menú
(Edit. favoritos, Bloquear/Desbloquear, Añadir/
Borrar, Quitar selec., Seleccionar todo). Los
elementos del menú de opciones pueden variar según el
tipo y el estado del canal.

• Añadir / Borrar: Borrar o añadir un canal para que
se muestren los canales que se desee.

Esta Añadir sólo está disponible en el Todos

Un canal de color gris quiere decir que se ha
suprimido.
• Quitar selec.: Se cancelan los canales

No vea la televisión en formato 4:3 durante largos

■ Desplazamiento: Esta función elimina las imágenes
fantasma de la pantalla moviendo todos los píxeles en
el PDP siguiendo un patrón. Utilice esta función cuando
haya imágenes o símbolos fantasma en la pantalla,
especialmente cuando se mostró una imagen fija en la
pantalla durante largos períodos.

La función de eliminación de imágenes fantasma
debe ejecutarse durante un tiempo prolongado
(aproximadamente 1 hora) para eliminar

Muestra el código de registro autorizado para el televisor.
Si se conecta al sitio Web de DivX y se registra usando
el código de 10 dígitos, puede descargar el archivo de
activación VOD. Una vez que lo reproduce con Media Play, el
registro se ha terminado.

Autodiagnóstico
■ Prueba de imagen (Sí / No): Se utiliza para comprobar
si hay problemas de imagen.
Sí: Si la imagen de prueba no aparece o si hay ruido
en la imagen de prueba, seleccione Sí. Puede haber
un problema con el televisor. Comuníquese con el
Centro de Servicio al cliente de Samsung para obtener
asistencia.
No: Si se muestra correctamente la imagen de prueba,
seleccione No. Puede haber un problema con su equipo
externo. Compruebe sus conexiones. Si el problema
persiste, consulte el manual del usuario del dispositivo
externo.
■ Prueba de sonido (Sí / No): Utilice el sonido de la
melodía incorporada para comprobar si hay problemas
con el sonido.

Se escuchará la melodía durante la prueba
aunque haya configurado haya apagado el sonido
pulsando el botón MUTE.
Sí: Si puede oír sonido sólo de un altavoz o nada
durante la prueba de sonido, seleccione Sí. Puede
haber un problema con el televisor. Comuníquese con el
Centro de Servicio al cliente de Samsung para obtener

Actualización del software
La Actualización del software se puede realizar
descargando el último firmware de "www.samsung.com" a
un dispositivo de memoria USB.

Instalación de la última versión
■ Por USB: Inserte una unidad USB que contenga el
archivo de actualización de firmware, descargado de
“www.samsung.com”, en el televisor. Tenga cuidado de
no desconectar la alimentación o retirar la unidad USB
hasta que la actualización esté completa. El televisor
se apagará y encenderá automáticamente después
de completar la actualización del firmware. Cuando
se actualice el software, todas las configuraciones de
audio y video regresarán a sus valores predeterminados.
Aconsejamos tomar nota de sus configuraciones
para poder restablecerlas fácilmente después de la
actualización.

• No se admite MTP (Protocolo de Transferencia de Medios).
• El sistema de archivos admite NTFS (sólo lectura), FAT16 y FAT32.
• Ciertos tipos de cámaras y audio digitales USB quizá no sean compatibles con este televisor.
• Contenidos multimedia sólo admite dispositivos USB de clase de almacenamiento masivo (MSC). MSC es un dispositivo
de clase de almacenamiento masivo sólo de transporte de gran capacidad. Algunos ejemplos de MSC incluyen las
unidades de almacenamiento en miniatura y las lectoras de tarjetas flash (no se admiten los HUB USB). Los dispositivos
deben conectarse directamente al puerto USB del televisor.
• Antes de conectar su dispositivo al televisor, haga una copia de seguridad de sus archivos para evitar daños o pérdidas
de datos. SAMSUNG no se hace responsable de ningún daño de archivo de datos ni de ninguna pérdida de datos.
• La unidad de disco duro (HDD) conectada a USB no es compatible.
• No desconecte el dispositivo USB mientras se está cargando.
• Cuanto mayor sea la resolución de la imagen, más tiempo tardará en visualizarse en la pantalla.
• La máxima resolución JPEG admitida es 15360 x 8640 píxeles.
• Para archivos no admitidos o dañados, aparece el mensaje "Formato de archivo no admitido".
• No se pueden reproducir los archivos MP3 con DRM descargados de un sitio no gratuito. La tecnología Gestión de
Derechos Digitales (DRM) admite la creación de contenidos, la distribución y gestión de éstos de modo integrado y
general, incluida la protección de los derechos e intereses de los proveedores de contenidos, la prevención de copias
ilegales de los contenidos, así como la gestión de cobros y acuerdos.
• Es posible que un dispositivo USB que requiera mucha potencia (más de 500mA o 5V) no sea compatible.
• Si el televisor no recibe señal de entrada durante el tiempo establecido en Tpo. protección auto., se iniciará el Protector
de pantalla.
• El modo de ahorro de energía de algunas unidades de disco duro externas pueden desactivarse automáticamente
cuando éstas se conecten al televisor.
• Si se utiliza un cable de extensión USB, el dispositivo USB puede no ser reconocido o los archivos en el dispositivo
pueden no ser leídos.
• Si no se reconoce un dispositivo USB conectado al televisor, la lista de archivos del dispositivo está dañada o un archivo
de la lista no se reproduce, conecte el dispositivo USB a la computadora, formatee el dispositivo y compruebe la
conexión.
• Si un archivo eliminado del ordenador se puede encontrar todavía cuando se ejecuta Contenido multimedia, utilice la
función “Vaciar la papelera de reciclaje” de la computadora para eliminarlo en forma permanente.

• Contenidos multimedia sólo admite el formato jpeg secuencial.
• Las funciones de búsqueda de escena y miniaturas no se admiten en Videos.
• Si el número de archivos y carpetas guardados en un dispositivo de almacenamiento USB supera aproximadamente
los 4000, puede ocurrir que los archivos y carpetas no se muestren y que algunas de las carpetas no se abran.
Desconexión de un dispositivo USB
• Método 1: Utilizando el botón SOURCE.
1. Pulse el botón SOURCE.
2. Seleccione un dispositivo USB y pulse el botón TOOLS. Aparece el menú Herramientas.
3. Seleccione Retire el dispositivo USB con seguridad y luego espere hasta que se desconecte el dispositivo
USB seleccionado. Puede quitar un dispositivo USB del televisor.
• Método 2: Uso de la pantalla de inicio de Media Play.
1. Vaya la pantalla de inicio de Media Play.
2. Seleccione una categoría y pulse el botón ENTERE.
3. Seleccione un dispositivo USB y pulse el botón TOOLS. Aparece el menú Herramientas.

Instalación del montaje de pared
Montaje en pared o techo

Fijación del televisor a la pared

¦ Para impedir que el televisor se caiga
1. Coloque firmemente las grapas sobre la pared con los tornillos.
Confirme que los tornillos se hayan instalado firmemente en la
pared.

adicional para el anclaje.

Dado que las grapas, los tornillos y la cadena necesarios
no se suministran con el producto, deberá adquirirlos por

2. Quite los tornillos de la parte central posterior del televisor,
colóquelos en las grapas y luego vuelva a ajustar los tornillos en el
televisor.

3. Conecte las grapas unidas al televisor y las grapas unidas a la

Si cree que el televisor tiene un problema, compruebe primero esta lista de posibles problemas y soluciones. Si ninguna de
estas sugerencias de solución de problemas funciona, visite “www.samsung.com”, y haga clic en Soporte técnico o llame al
centro de atención al cliente de Samsung.

Imagen deficiente
En primer lugar, realice la Prueba de imagen para confirmar que el televisor muestre correctamente la
imagen de prueba.

Vaya a MENU - Soporte técnico - Autodiagnóstico - Prueba de imagen
Si la imagen de la prueba se muestra correctamente, la imagen deficiente puede provenir de la fuente o de
la señal.
La imagen del televisor no se ve
tan bien como en la tienda.
●
Si tiene un receptor de cable/satélite analógico, cambie a un receptor digital superior. Utilice cables HDMI o
de componentes para conseguir la mejor calidad de imagen de definición estándar (SD).
●
Suscriptores de cable/satélite: Pruebe con las emisoras digitales en la oferta de canales.
●
Conexión de antena de aire/cable: Pruebe las emisoras digitales después de realizar la programación
automática.
●
Ajuste la resolución de la salida de video del receptor de cable o satélite en 480p.
La imagen se ve distorsionada:
error de macrobloques,
microbloques, puntos,
pixelización.
●
La compresión de los contenidos de video puede causar imágenes distorsionadas especialmente en las
escenas de movimiento rápido, como en los deportes y las películas de acción.
●
El bajo nivel de señal puede causar distorsión de la imagen. Este no es un problema del televisor.
●
Los teléfonos móviles utilizados cerca del televisor (hasta 0,9 mts) pueden causar ruido en la imagen en un
televisor analógico y digital.
El color es de mala calidad o
falta.
●
Si utiliza una conexión de componentes, compruebe que los cables de los componentes estén conectados
en las entradas correctas. Las conexiones incorrectas o sueltas pueden originar problemas o que la pantalla
se quede en blanco.
El color o el brillo es de mala
calidad.
●
Ajuste las opciones de Imagen en el menú del televisor. (vaya a Modo de Imagen / Color / Brillo /
Definición)
●
Ajuste la opción Ahorro de energía en el menú del televisor (vaya a MENU - Sistema - Solución Eco -
Ahorro de energía)

Intente reiniciar la imagen para ver la configuración de imagen predeterminada. (vaya a MENU - Imagen -
Restablezca imagen)
Hay una línea de puntos en el
borde de la pantalla.

Si el tamaño de la imagen está establecido en Ajuste pantalla, cámbielo a 16:9.

Cambie la resolución del receptor de cable/satélite.
La imagen se ve sólo en blanco
y negro.

Si está utilizando una entrada mixta AV, conecte el cable de video (amarillo) en el conector Verde de la entrada
1 de Componente del televisor.
Al cambiar de canal, la imagen
se congela o se ve distorsionada
o aparece con retraso.

Si está conectado a un receptor de cable, pruebe reiniciarlo. Vuelva a conectar el cable de CA y espere hasta
que el receptor de cable se reinicie. Puede tardar unos 20 minutos.
●
Establezca la resolución de salida del receptor de cable en 480p.
Problemas de sonido Primero, realice la Prueba de sonido para determinar si el audio de su televisor funciona correctamente.

Si el audio es correcto, el problema del sonido puede provenir de la fuente o la señal.
No hay sonido o se oye
demasiado bajo con el volumen
al máximo.

Compruebe el volumen del dispositivo (receptor de cable/satélite, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) conectado al televisor.
La imagen es buena pero no
hay sonido.

Si utiliza un dispositivo externo, compruebe que la opción de salida de audio del dispositivo (por ejemplo,
quizás deba cambiar la opción de audio del receptor de cable a HDMI si tiene conectado HDMI al televisor).

Reinicie el dispositivo conectado volviendo a conectar el cable de alimentación del dispositivo.
Los altavoces hacen un ruido
inapropiado.
●
Compruebe las conexiones de los cables. Asegúrese de que no haya un cable de video conectado a una
entrada de audio.
●
Para la conexión de la antena o el cable, compruebe la potencia de señal. El bajo nivel de señal puede causar

No hay imagen, no hay video
El televisor no enciende.
●
Compruebe que el cable de alimentación CA esté bien conectado en la toma de la pared y en el televisor.
●
Asegúrese de que la toma de pared funcione.
●
Pruebe pulsar el botón POWER del televisor para asegurarse de que el problema no esté en el control
remoto. Si el televisor se enciende, consulte la sección "El control remoto no funciona" a continuación.
El televisor se apaga
automáticamente.
●
Compruebe si la opción Temporizador está establecida en Apagado en el menú Sistema.
●
Compruebe que el cable de alimentación CA esté bien conectado en la toma de la pared y en el televisor.
●
Cuando se ve la televisión con una conexión de antena o cable, el televisor se apaga tras 10-15 minutos si no
hay señal.
No hay imagen ni video.
●
Compruebe las conexiones de los cables. (desconecte y vuelva a conectar todos los cables del televisor y de
los dispositivos externos.)
●
Establezca la salida de video del dispositivo externo (receptor de cable/satélite, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) de modo
que coincida con las conexiones de la entrada del televisor. Por ejemplo, si la salida de un dispositivo externo
es HDMI, se debe conectar a una entrada HDMI en el televisor.
●
Compruebe que los dispositivos externos estén encendidos.
●
Asegúrese de seleccionar la fuente correcta del televisor pulsando el botón SOURCE del control remoto.
●
Reinicie el dispositivo conectado volviendo a conectar el cable de alimentación del dispositivo.
Conexión de la antena (aire/cable)
El televisor no recibe todos los
canales.
●
Compruebe que el cable coaxial esté firmemente conectado.
●
Ejecute Prog. Automática. para añadir los canales disponibles a la lista de canales. Vaya a MENU - Canal -
Prog. Automática. luego seleccione Automático y asegúrese de que en el menú esté establecido el tipo de
señal de televisión por cable correcto.
●
Compruebe la posición correcta de la antena.
No hay subtítulos en los canales
digitales.
●
Compruebe el menú de configuración de los Subtítulos.
●
Algunos canales no tienen datos de subtítulos.
La imagen se ve distorsionada:

Barras horizontales rodantes de
color púrpura/verde y zumbidos

Desconecte los terminales de audio izquierdo y derecho del receptor de satélite. Si los zumbidos cesan, esto
indica que el receptor de satélite tiene un problema en la conexión a tierra. Sustituya los cables de video de
componentes por una conexión HDMI.
La imagen no se muestra en la
pantalla completa.
●
En cada lado se muestran barras negras en los canales de alta definición (HD) cuando se muestran
contenidos SD mejorados (4:3).
●
Aparecerán barras negras en las partes inferior y superior cuando se vean películas que tienen diferentes
formatos que el televisor.
●
Ajuste la opción del tamaño de imagen del dispositivo externo o del televisor al modo de pantalla completa.

Problemas Soluciones y explicaciones
El televisor de plasma hace un
ruido.
●
Los televisores de plasma por lo general hacen un zumbido suave. Esto es normal. Este zumbido es
producido por las cargas eléctricas que se utilizan para crear las imágenes en la pantalla.
●
Si el zumbido es fuerte, es posible que haya ajustado el brillo en el televisor demasiado alto. Pruebe configurar
el brillo más bajo.
●
También puede escuchar un zumbido fuerte si la parte trasera de su TV de plasma está demasiado cerca de
una pared o de otra superficie dura. Además, intente volver a enrutar sus cables de conexión.
●
La instalación inadecuada del montaje de pared puede generar demasiado ruido.
Problema de retención de
imágenes (desgaste).
●
Para minimizar la posibilidad de desgaste de pantalla, esta unidad está equipada con tecnología de reducción
de desgaste de pantalla Cambio de píxel. Cambio de píxel le permite configurar la imagen para que se mueva
ligeramente hacia arriba y hacia abajo (línea vertical) y de lado a lado (punto horizontal). El movimiento leve
regular de la imagen reduce el desgaste de la pantalla.
El control remoto no funciona.
●
Coloque las pilas del control remoto con los polos (+/–) en la dirección correcta.
●
Limpie la ventana de transmisión del sensor en el control remoto.
●
Apunte con el control remoto directamente al televisor desde una distancia de 1,5 - 2 metros.
El control remoto del receptor
de cable/satélite no enciende
ni apaga el televisor, ni ajusta el
volumen.
●
Programe el control remoto del receptor de cable/satélite para que haga funcionar el televisor. Consulte el
manual del usuario del receptor de cable/satélite para conocer el código del televisor Samsung.
Aparece un mensaje de “Modo
no compatible”.
●
Compruebe la resolución que admite el televisor y ajuste en consecuencia la resolución de salida del
dispositivo externo.
Subtítulo en el menú del
televisor aparece atenuado.
●
Subtítulo no se puede seleccionar en el menú del televisor cuando está conectado mediante HDMI o
Componente.
●
Se debe activar Subtítulo en el dispositivo externo.
Se advierte un olor a plástico
que proviene del televisor.
