INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

E/75E
Dual electronic condensate sensor and probe sensor with time delay
NOTE: For communicating HVAC systems, refer to equipment manufacturers recommendations for specic wiring instructions.
Installation of the AG-3150E/75E:
(To ensure proper performance of product, instructions must be followed).
1. Couple the probe sensor and the AG-3150E/75E Secondary Pan Sensor using the one-way connector (g. 4)
2. Test the AG-3150E/75E: thread the probe sensor on the secondary drain line on the primary pan. Plug the condensate line
and ll the primary drain pan with water. If sensor has been installed properly, the HVAC unit will stop running and LED will
illuminate (time delay up to 1 min ON / 5 min OFF). Using two wetted ngers, simultaneously touch the two metal contacts
on the back of the AG-3150E/75E Secondary Pan sensor (g. 5). If sensor has been installed properly, the HVAC unit will stop
running and LED will illuminate (time delay up to 1 min ON / 5 min OFF).
3. After testing the probe sensor, uncouple the one-way connector to facilitate installation of the AG-3150E/75E Secondary
Pan Sensor.
4. Clean desired mounting area with included alcohol pad.
5. Using the adhesive pad or mounting clips provided with the AG-3150E/75E, afx the mounting base in the lowest point of the pan
within 25" of the secondary drain port (g. 2) and snap AG-3150E/75E Secondary Pan Sensor into mounting base.
Note: If not using a secondary drain pan, AG-3150E/75E Secondary Pan Sensor may be mounted to the side of the HVAC unit
using the adhesive pad or mounting clips. (g.3)
6. Some units have a plastic piece that extends beyond the drain hole opening which will prevent the probe sensor from sealing
properly into the auxiliary drain port. If this is the case, refer to step 7. Otherwise refer to step 8.
7. Thread the adapter tting (g. 7) into an available auxiliary drain port of the primary drain pan. Tighten with pliers to ensure a
proper seal, remove the O-ring from the probe, and replace with the at washer (included). Thread the probe sensor into the
adapter ensuring that it has been seated properly.
Note: Over tightening will cause rubber O-ring/washer to bulge out leading to potential leaks.
8. Thread the probe sensor into an available auxiliary drain port of the primary drain pan (g. 8). Ensure the probe sensor is above
the dam and make sure that the seal has been seated properly (g. 2).
9. Re-couple the one-way connector (g. 4). HVAC system should now be operational.
10. Place the included WARNING sticker on HVAC unit in a clearly visible location (g. 9).
11. Test the HVAC unit by plugging the condensate line and lling the primary drain pan with water. If AG-3150E/75E has been installed
properly, the HVAC unit will shut down prior to the pan overowing. Check for leaks (time delay up to 1 min ON / 5 min OFF).
Adapter:
Potential uses.
1. See Steps 6 & 7 of Installation section.
2. In the event the Probe Sensor encounters interference during installation use adapter ( works best with Non-Dammed drain).
Make sure to remove the O-ring from the probe, and replace with the at washer (included).

STANDARD WIRING DIAGRAM
FOR BREAKING “WALL THERMOSTAT” POWER WIRE
1. In HVAC Unit locate HVAC Power wire going to “Wall Thermostat”, (Typically RED).
Break/Disconnect 24VAC Power wire going to “Wall Thermostat”.
A. Connect “RED”, “Input 24VAC (Hot)” and “Gray” “Common” wire of AG3150E/75E to 24VAC (Hot) secondary side of 24VAC
Transformer.
B. Connect “Purple”, “Normally Closed” wire of AG3150E/75E to Thermostat’s “R” Terminal wire.
NOTE: “Purple” wire must be connected to “Thermostat”. Maximum capacity 24VAC/5Amp.
C. Connect “BLACK”, “Input: 24VAC (Common)” wire of AG3150E/75E to 24VAC (COMMON) secondary side of 24VAC Transformer or
Thermostat’s “C”Terminal.
D. Optional: Connect “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire of AG3150E/75E to the “WHITE” wire of AquaGuard, AG-9100 External Alarm
or Home Alarm System, or Communicating System, etc... If not used, wire nut and tape.
NOTE: “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire maximum capacity, 24VAC/1Amp.
2. Test the AG-3150E/75E Sensors (At start-up check initial amperage load) while the HVAC unit is on and functioning correctly.

(A) NORMALLY CLOSED SIGNAL
1. In HVAC Unit locate Compressor wire going to “Wall Thermostat”, (Typically YELLOW).
Break/Disconnect Compressor wire going to “Wall Thermostat”.
A. Connect typically “YELLOW” wire, going to “Wall Thermostat” to “Gray” “Common” wires of AG-3150E/75E.
B. Connect “Purple”, “Normally Closed” wire of AG-3150E/75E to Compressor’s typically “YELLOW” wire going to compressor.
NOTE: “Purple” wire must be connected to Compressor “YELLOW” wire. Maximum capacity 24VAC/5Amp.
C. Connect “RED”, “Input: 24 VAC (HOT)” wire of AG-3150E/75E to 24VAC (HOT) of 24 VAC Transformer or Thermostat’s “R”Terminal.
D. Connect “BLACK”, “Input: 24VAC (Common) wire of AG-3150E/75E to 24VAC (Common) secondary side of 24VAC Transformer or
Thermostat’s “C” terminal.
E. Optional: Connect “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire of AG-3150E/75E to the “WHITE” wire of AquaGuard, AG-9100 External
Alarm or Home Alarm System, or Communicating System, etc... If not used, wire nut and tape.
NOTE: “WHITE”, “Normally Open” wire maximum capacity, 24VAC/1Amp.
2. Test the AG-3150E/75E Sensors (At start-up check initial amperage load) while the HVAC unit is on and functioning correctly.
See installation section.
NOTE: When the AG-3150E/75E is wired correctly, (ONLY) the Compressor unit will shut-off upon condensate detection.
Air Handler will continue to run.

Failure to read and comply with all warnings, cautions and instructions prior to starting
installation may cause personal injury and/or property damage and void warranty.
Remove electrical shock hazard – DISCONNECT THE POWER TO THE HVAC UNIT BEFORE INSTALLING
THE AQUAGUARD AG-3150E/75E to avoid electrical shock and/or equipment damage. Do not use on circuits
exceeding 24 VAC to avoid damage to sensor, shock or re hazard.
NOTICENOTICE The AG-3150E/75E must be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. The
AG-3150E/75E must be installed in accordance with all applicable local plumbing, drainage and electrical codes.
NOTICENOTICE In some situations the sensor may cause the unit to rapidly cycle on and off as water level rises
slowly in pan. After a brief period the HVAC unit will turn off completely. Condensation drain must be serviced
if this occurs.
NOTICENOTICE In any installation where property damage and/or personal injury might result from an inoperative
sensor due to power outages, a back-up system(s) and /or alarm should be installed.
NOTICENOTICE The AG-3150E/75E must only be installed by a licensed contractor. Condensation pan must be
properly maintained after installation and be kept free of foreign matter, rust or other obstructions that might
interfere with the proper operation of the AG-3150E/75E.
NOTICENOTICE If sensor is exposed to cleaning solution or has dirty probes, it may not allow the HVAC to function
properly. If such, remove probe sensor and/or secondary pan sensor, clean, and dry.
STOP/READ This device must be installed in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. This unit must be in
accordance with all applicable local plumbing, drainage and electrical codes.

1. En la unidad HVAC, ubique el cable del compresor que va al “Termostato de pared”, (generalmente AMARILLO) Rompa/Desconecte
el cable del compresor que va a “Termostato de pared”.
A. Conecte normalmente el cable “AMARILLO”, que va al “Termostato de pared” a los cables “Gris” “Común” de AG-3150E/75E.
B. Conecte el cable “Púrpura”, “Normalmente cerrado” del AG-3150E/75E al cable típicamente “AMARILLO” del compresor que
va al compresor.
NOTA: El cable “morado” debe conectarse al cable “AMARILLO” del compresor. Capacidad máxima 24VAC/5Amp.
C. Conecte el cable “ROJO”, “Entrada: 24 VCA (CALIENTE)” del AG-3150E/75E a 24 VCA (CALIENTE) del Transformador de 24 VCA o la
Terminal “R” del Termostato.
D. Conecte el cable “NEGRO”, “Entrada: 24 VCA (común) del AG-3150E/75E al lado secundario de 24 VCA (común) del terminal “C” del
transformador o termostato de 24 VCA.
E. Opcional: Conecte el cable “BLANCO”, “Normalmente abierto” de AG-3150E/75E al cable “BLANCO” de AquaGuard, AG-9100
Alarma externa o Sistema de alarma para el hogar, o Sistema de comunicación, etc... Si no se usa, conecte la tuerca y la cinta.
NOTA: Capacidad máxima de cable “BLANCO”, “Normalmente abierto”, 24VAC/1Amp.
2. Pruebe los sensores AG-3150E/75E (en el arranque, verique la carga de amperaje inicial) mientras la unidad HVAC está encendida
y funcionando correctamente. Ver instalación del sensor.
NOTA: Cuando el AG-3150E/75E está cableado correctamente, (ÚNICAMENTE) la unidad del compresor se apagará al detectar
condensación. El controlador de aire seguirá funcionando.

AVISO El AquaGuard AG-3150E/75E debe ser instalado únicamente por un contratista certicado o bajo
la supervisión de un contratista certicado. La bandeja de condensación debe mantenerse correctamente
después de la instalación y debe estar libre de materiales extraños, óxido u otras obstrucciones que podrían
interferir con el funcionamiento correcto del AquaGuard AG-3150E/75E.
AVISO Si el sensor está expuesto a soluciones de limpieza, o si la sonda esta sucia, la unidad de HVAC
no funcionará de manera apropiada. Si esto pasa, enjuagua completamente el sensor con agua. Se recomienda
quitar el sensor de la unidad antes de limpiar el serpentín o la bandeja.

NOTA: Para sistemas HVAC con comunicación Integrada, consulte las recomendaciones del fabricante para Instrucciones
especícas de cableado.
Instalación del sensor AG-3150E/75E:
(Para asegurar el rendimiento correcto del producto, debe seguir las instrucciones.)
1. Conecte el sensor y el AG-3150E/75E (sensor para bandeja secundaria) usando el conector polarizado. (gura 4)
2. Pruebe el AG-3150E/75E Coloque la sonda del sensor en la bandeja primaria. Obstruya la linea de conden sacion y llene la
bandeja principal con agua. Si el sensor esta instalado correctamente, la unidad HVAC se apagara (tiempo de retraso de hasta
1 min ON / 5 min OFF). Con dos dedos húmedos, toque simultáneamente los dos contactos de metal en la parte posterior del
sensor de posición secundaria AG-3150E/75E (gura 5). Si el sensor esta instalado correctamente, la unidad HVACse apagara
(tiempo de retraso de hasta 1 min ON / 5 min OFF).
3. Después de probar el sensor, desconecte el conector polarizado para facilitar la instalación del AG-3150E/75E sensor para
bandeja secundaria.
4. Limpie el área de montar con el paño de alcohol incluido.
5. Use la almohadilla adhesiva incluida con el AG-3150E/75E, y pegue la abrazadera de montar en la parte inferior de la bandeja
a 25 pulgadas (63 cm) del desagüe secundario (gura 2) y coloque el AG-3150E/75E (sensor para bandeja secundaria) en su
abrazadera.
Nota: Si NO usa una bandeja de drenaje secundaria, el AG-3150E/75E (sensor para bandeja secundaria) se puede montar al
costado de la unidad (HVAC) usando la almohadilla adhesiva o la abrazadera. (gura 3)
6. Algunas unidades tienen una pieza de plástico más allá del desagüe que no perrnite al sensor sellar bien. Si este es el caso
suyo, siga al paso 7. De lo contrario, siga al paso 8.
7. Enrosque el adaptador (gura 7) a una de las salidas disponibles de la bandeja principal. Apriete con alicates así asegurando un
sello Asegúrese de guitar la junta del sensor y reemplazarlo con la arandela plana (incluida). Enrosque el sensor al adaptador
asegurando que encaje bien.
Aviso: Si aprieta dema, siado lajunta/arandela esta puede deforma,rse y causar goteras o fuga de agua.
8. Enrosque el sensor a una de las salidas de la bandeja principal (gura8). Verique que el sensor esté encima de la represa y
asegúrese que encaje bien. (gura 2)
9. Vuelva a enchufar el conector polarizado (gura 4). El sistema HVAC deberá funcionar.
10. Pegue la calcomanía de ADVERTENCIA incluida a la unidad HVAC en un lugar claramente visible. (gura 9)
11. Pruebe la unidad HVAC tapando la línea de condensación y llenando la bandeja principal con agua. Si el AG-3150E/75E está
instalado debidamente, la unidad HVAC se apagará antes que la bandeja derrame agua. Revise que no haya goteras. (tiempo de
retraso de hasta 1 min ON / 5 min OFF).
Aviso: Si elige "Cableado Opcional" SOLAMENTE el compresor se apagara cuando detecte condensación. El manejador de aire
seguira funcionando.
Adaptador:
Usos potenciales.
1. Consulte los pasos 6 y 7 de la sección Instalación.
2. Si el sensor detecta interferencia durante la instalación, use el adaptador (funciona mejor con desagüe sin represa). Asegúrece
de guitar la junta del sensory reemplazarlo con la arandela plana (incluida).
