Getting Ready
Prepare a household power outlet or batteries.
•Be sure to comply with the “Safety Precautions”
provided in the separate “READ THIS!” sheet.
Incorrect use of this product creates the risk of
electric shock and fire.
•Always make sure that the Digital Keyboard is
turned off before plugging in or unplugging the AC
adaptor, or before loading or removing batteries.
Make sure that you use only the AC adaptor specified for
this keyboard. Use of a different type of AC adaptor can
cause malfunction.
*Check with your dealer for the name of the AC adaptor
to be used.
•The AC adaptor will become warm to the touch
after very long use. This is normal and does not
indicate malfunction.
•To prevent breaking of the wire, take care to avoid
putting any type of load on the power cord.
Use 6 commercially available size AA alkaline batteries
or NiMH rechargeable batteries.
•Commercially available size AA manganese batteries
can also be used, but because some types of usage
may require high power consumption, the use of
alkaline batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries is
recommended.
Note the precautions below when using rechargeable
batteries.
•Use Panasonic Group AA-size eneloop rechargeable
batteries. Do not use any other type of batteries.
•Use only the specified charger to charge batteries.
•Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the
product for charging.
•For information about using eneloop batteries or their
specified charger, be sure to read the user
documentation and precautions that come with each
item, and use them only as directed.
Open the battery cover on the bottom of the Digital
Keyboard, load the batteries, and then close the cover.
•Take care to ensure that the positive + and negative
- ends of the batteries are facing correctly.
•Battery life is approximately 12 hours of
continuous use (based on alkaline batteries,
normal play). Any of the symptoms below may
indicate batteries are low and need to be replaced
as soon as possible.
•The Digital Keyboard will turn off automatically to
preserve battery power if you do not perform any
operation for about six minutes (Auto Power Off).
Hold down the TONE button while turning on the
keyboard to disable Auto Power Off.

User’s Guide, and then enter its number
using the numbers or the plus (+) and

•Enter a 2-digit tone number.
For example, to select “05 ELEC.PIANO 2”, press
“0” and then “5”.
•You can also use plus (+) and minus (–) buttons to
change the number. (“+” increases the number
and “–” decreases the number.) Holding the button
down changes the number continuously.
•Press “+” and “–” at the same time to return to the
original setting.
3.
Use  (Keyboard) to play the tone you
chose.
•You can use  (PIANO, TRUMPET, DRUMS) to
quickly and easily select the GRAND PIANO (00),
TRUMPET (50) and DRUM SET (99) tones.
1.
Press  (SUSTAIN).
This enables sustain.
•Changing the tone cancels sustain.

Sustaining Notes After Keyboard Keys Are
Released
You can use the procedure below to layer two tones and
output the resulting sound. The part that is played using
a single tone is the main part, while the second part that
is layered over the main part is the layer part.
1.
Press  (LAYER).
This enables layering.
2.
Use the numbers or plus (+) and minus (–)
buttons  to change the tone of the layer
part.
3.
To cancel the layer, press  (LAYER)
again or press  (PIANO, TRUMPET,
DRUMS).
1.
Press  (METRONOME).
The metronome starts up.
2.
Press  (METRONOME) again to stop the
metronome.
•For information on how to change the metronome
tempo, see “Changing the Speed (Tempo) of a
Rhythm or Built-in Song”.
You can use the procedure below to configure the
settings so that the Digital Keyboard sounds a chime on
the first beat of each measure and a click on the
remaining beats.
1.
Press  (METRONOME).
2.
Use the numbers or the plus (+) and minus
(–) buttons  to enter the beat.
•Choose a beat setting from 0-9.
•If you choose “0”, no chime sounds on the first
beat.
You can have rhythms from various musical genres play
as backing while you play the Digital Keyboard.

Press (RHYTHM).
2.
Choose your favorite rhythm from
(Rhythm list) or from the rhythm list in
this User’s Guide, and then enter its
number using the numbers or the plus (+)
and minus (–) buttons .
•The procedure for entering the number is the same
as for tone numbers.
3.
Press  (START/STOP) to play the rhythm
you chose.
•To stop the rhythm, press  (START/STOP)
again.

Choose a song from (Song list) and then
enter its number using the numbers or the
plus (+) and minus (–) buttons .
•When using numbers to choose a song, start by
entering “0”. The procedure for entering the
number is the same as for tone numbers.
•To listen through all the songs, display “AL” on the
LCD panel. To display “AL”, either use the plus (+)
and minus (–) buttons, or just press one of the
number buttons “1-9” without first pressing “0”.

Press  (START/STOP) to play the song
you chose.
•To stop the song, press  (START/STOP) again.
•For information on how to change the tempo of the
rhythm, see “Changing the Speed (Tempo) of a
Rhythm or Built-in Song”.
•If you change the tempo, tone or any other setting for a
song while listening to all the songs “AL”, the changed
song settings revert to their initial values when the next
song is played.

Hold down  (SONG).
This mutes the melody for built-in songs.
2.
Press  (START/STOP).
The melody is not played, so you can play it yourself
on the keyboard .

Press (TEMPO yt).
2.
Use (TEMPO yt) or the numbers or
plus (+) and minus (–) buttons  to
change the tempo value.
•You can change the tempo in increments of 10
using (TEMPO yt) or in single increments
using the plus (+) and minus (–) buttons .
•You can set any value between 20 and 255.

scale tuning by pressing a key on the keyboard .
•Press “+” and “–” at the same time to return to the
original setting.
•The original display returns after a few moments.
You can adjust the contrast of the LCD panel.

•You can set any value between 1 and 8.

•The LCD contrast setting is retained even if you switch
the Digital Keyboard off.
When you turn the Digital Keyboard off, all settings such
as the tone numbers and song numbers revert to their
original settings. You cannot save your settings before
turning the Digital Keyboard off.
Connect headphones or audio equipment to the PHONES/
OUTPUT jack on the back of the Digital Keyboard.
•If the plug you are using does not match the jack, use
a commercially available adaptor plug.
•Do not listen to very high volume output over
headphones for long periods. Doing so creates the
risk of hearing damage.
•When connecting a musical instrument amplifier,
set the Digital Keyboard volume to a low level and
use the amplifier’s volume control to adjust to the
desired volume level.

tonos) o de la lista de tonos de esta Guía
del usuario y luego introduzca su número

•Introduzca un número de tono de 2 dígitos.
Por ejemplo, para seleccionar “05 ELEC.PIANO 2”,
pulse “0” y luego “5”.
•Los botones de más (+) y menos (–) también se
pueden utilizar para cambiar los números. (el
número aumenta con “+” y disminuye con “–”).
Si mantiene pulsado el botón, el número cambia
continuamente.
•Para volver a la configuración original, pulse
simultáneamente “+” y “–”.
3.
Utilice  (Teclado) para reproducir el tono
seleccionado.
•Puede utilizar  (PIANO, TRUMPET, DRUMS) para
una selección rápida y fácil de los tonos GRAND
PIANO (00), TRUMPET (50) y DRUM SET (99).

Pulse  (SUSTAIN).
Se habilita el sostenimiento.
•El sostenimiento se cancela al cambiar el tono.

El siguiente procedimiento le permite superponer dos
tonos y producir el sonido resultante. La parte principal
es aquella que se ejecuta con un solo tono, mientras que
la parte estratificada es aquella que se superpone sobre
la parte principal.
1.
Pulse  (LAYER).
Se habilita la estratificación.
2.
Utilice los botones  numéricos o de más
(+) y menos (–) para cambiar el tono de la
parte estratificada.
3.
Para cancelar la estratificación, pulse de
nuevo  (LAYER) o pulse  (PIANO,
TRUMPET, DRUMS).

Pulse  (METRONOME).
El metrónomo se activa.
2.
Pulse de nuevo  (METRONOME) para
detener el metrónomo.
•Para obtener información sobre cómo cambiar el
tempo del metrónomo, consulte “Cambiar la velocidad
(tempo) de un ritmo o de una canción incorporada”.
El siguiente procedimiento describe cómo realizar los
ajustes si desea hacer sonar una campanilla en el primer
tiempo de cada compás y un clic en los tiempos
restantes de la canción.

Pulse  (METRONOME).
2.
Para ingresar el tiempo, utilice los botones
 numéricos o de más (+) y menos (–).
•Seleccione un ajuste de tiempo de 0 a 9.
•Si selecciona “0”, la campanilla no suena en el
primer tiempo.
Podrá tocar el teclado digital junto al ritmo de diversos
géneros musicales.

Elija su ritmo favorito de la (Lista de
ritmos) o de la lista de ritmos de esta Guía
del usuario y luego introduzca su número
utilizando los botones  numéricos o de
más (+) y menos (–).
•El procedimiento para ingresar el número es el
mismo que para los números de tono.
3.
Pulse  (START/STOP) para reproducir el
ritmo seleccionado.
•Para detener el ritmo, pulse de nuevo  (START/
STOP).
•Para obtener información sobre cómo cambiar el
tempo del ritmo, consulte “Cambiar la velocidad

•Cuando utilice números para seleccionar una
canción, comience a partir de “0”. El procedimiento
para ingresar el número es el mismo que para los
números de tono.
•Si desea escuchar todas las canciones de forma
continua, muestre “AL” en el panel LCD. Para
visualizar “AL”, utilice los botones de más (+) y
menos (–), o bien pulse uno de los botones
numéricos “1-9” sin pulsar “0” previamente.
3.
Pulse  (START/STOP) para reproducir la
canción seleccionada.
•Para detener la canción, pulse de nuevo
 (START/STOP).
•Para obtener información sobre cómo cambiar el
tempo del ritmo, consulte “Cambiar la velocidad
(tempo) de un ritmo o de una canción incorporada”.
•Si cambia el tempo, el tono u otros ajustes de una
canción mientras escucha todas las canciones “AL”,
los ajustes de la canción volverán a los valores
iniciales predeterminados cuando se reproduzca la
canción siguiente.

Mantenga pulsado  (SONG).
Se enmudece la melodía de las canciones
incorporadas.
2.
Pulse  (START/STOP).
La melodía no se reproduce, para que usted pueda
tocar el teclado  por su cuenta.

Para cambiar el valor de tempo, utilice
(TEMPO yt) o los botones 

•Puede cambiar el tempo en incrementos de 10
utilizando (TEMPO yt) o en incrementos
individuales mediante los botones  de más (+) y
menos (–).
•Puede ajustar cualquier valor entre 20 y 255.

Utilice el procedimiento descrito a continuación para
cambiar los ajustes de las funciones.

Pulse  (FUNCTION).
•El ajuste cambia cada vez que pulsa
 (FUNCTION). Aparece 6 a la izquierda del
valor de ajuste.
2.
Para ingresar un valor, utilice los botones
 numéricos o de más (+) y menos (–).
•También puede presionar una tecla  y cambiar
el ajuste de la nota base para la afinación de
escala.
•Para volver a la configuración original, pulse
simultáneamente “+” y “–”.
•La pantalla original se restablece después de unos
momentos.
Puede ajustar el contraste del panel LCD.

Mantenga pulsado  (FUNCTION) y pulse
“0” en .
2.
Para ingresar un valor, utilice los botones
 numéricos o de más (+) y menos (–).
•Puede ajustar cualquier valor entre 1 y 8.
3.
Para salir del ajuste, pulse cualquier botón
que no sean los botones  numéricos o de
más (+) y menos (–).
•El ajuste del contraste de LCD se retiene aunque se
apague el teclado digital.
Al apagar el teclado digital, todos los ajustes, como los
números de tono y los números de canción, vuelven a
sus valores originales. No es posible guardar los ajustes
configurados antes de apagar el teclado digital.
Conecte los auriculares o el equipo de audio a la toma
PHONES/OUTPUT en la parte trasera del teclado digital.
•Si la clavija en uso no coincide con la toma, utilice una
clavija adaptadora disponible en el mercado.
•No utilice los auriculares con el volumen
demasiado alto durante períodos de tiempo
prolongados. Correría el riesgo de sufrir daños
auditivos.
•Cuando conecte un amplificador, baje el volumen
del teclado digital y ajuste el volumen al nivel
deseado mediante el mando de volumen del
amplificador.
