KombiTool, it is important that you read,

Because a KombiEngine equipped with

a soil cultivator KombiTool is a power

tool with relatively fast turning

attachment, some special safety

In the STIHL KombiSystem a number of

different KombiEngines / KombiMotors

and KombiTools can be combined to

produce a power tool. In this instruction

manual the functional unit formed by the

KombiEngine / KombiMotor and

KombiTool is referred to as the power

tool.

The instruction manuals for the

KombiEngine / KombiMotor and

KombiTool should be used together for

the power tool.

Always read and make sure you

understand both instruction manuals

before using your power tool for the first

time and keep them in a safe place for

future reference.

All the pictograms attached to or

embossed on the machine are shown

and explained in this manual.

Symbols in Text

Many operating and safety instructions

are supported by illustrations.

The individual steps or procedures

described in the manual may be marked

Have your STIHL dealer show you how

to operate your power tool. Observe all

applicable local safety regulations,

standards and ordinances.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of personal injury, use

only KombiTools that are specifically

authorized by STIHL for use on your

KombiEngine / KombiMotor model.

WARNING

Do not lend or rent your power tool

without the instruction manuals for your

KombiEngine / KombiMotor and

KombiTool. Be sure that anyone using it

understands the information contained

in these manuals.

WARNING

The use of this power tool may be

hazardous. If the rotating cultivator

blades contact your body, they will injure

you. The cultivator blades may throw or

fling solid objects such as rocks directly

or by ricochet in the direction of

bystanders or the operator. Striking such

objects could damage the cultivator

blades and may cause them to crack,

chip or break. Thrown objects, including

broken cultivator blades, may result in

serious or fatal injury to the operator or

bystanders.

WARNING

The power tool may fling foreign objects

directly or by ricochet. Thrown objects,

including broken cultivator blades, may

cause serious or fatal injury to the

operator or bystanders. To reduce the

risk of severe personal injury, remove

stones, glass, rocks, pieces of metal or

other objects that could be thrown by the

blades, damage the blades, or cause

personal injury or property damage.

STIHL does not recommend the use of

the power tool in rocky soil, or in areas

where there is debris or other objects

that could be thrown by the blades.

Always wear proper eye protection and

keep bystanders away from the work

area.

WARNING

Use your power tool only for

rejuvenating flower beds and plantings,

and for mixing soil-improving additives

into the soil.

Do not use it for other purposes, since

misuse may result in personal injury or

property damage, including damage to

the machine.

WARNING

Minors should never be allowed to use

this power tool. Bystanders, especially

children, and animals should not be

allowed in the area where it is in use.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury to bystanders

and damage to property, never let your

power tool run unattended. When it is

not in use (e.g. during a work break),

shut it off and make sure that

unauthorized persons do not use it.

Most of these safety precautions and

warnings apply to the use of all STIHL

soil cultivators. Different models may

have different parts and controls. See

the appropriate section of your

KombiEngine / KombiMotor and

KombiTool instruction manuals for a

description of the controls and the

function of the parts of your model.

THE OPERATOR

Physical Condition

You must be in good physical condition

and mental health and not under the

influence of any substance (drugs,

be observed to reduce

the risk of personal injury.

It is important that you

read, fully understand

and observe the following

safety precautions and

warnings. Read the

instruction manuals and

the safety precautions of

your KombiEngine / Kom-

biMotor and KombiTool

periodically. Careless or

improper use may cause

serious or fatal injury.

dexterity or judgment. Do not operate

this machine when you are fatigued.

WARNING

Be alert – if you get tired, take a break.

Tiredness may result in loss of control.

Working with any power tool can be

strenuous. If you have any condition that

might be aggravated by strenuous work,

check with your doctor before operating

this machine.

Proper Clothing

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury wear proper

protective apparel.

The deflector provided with your power

tool will not protect the operator from all

foreign objects (stones, glass, wire, etc.)

that might be thrown back by the rotating

working tool. Thrown objects may also

ricochet and strike the operator.

WARNING

Be particularly alert and cautious when

wearing hearing protection because

your ability to hear warnings (shouts,

alarms, etc.) is restricted.

Avoid loose-fitting jackets, scarfs,

neckties, jewelry, flared or cuffed pants,

unconfined long hair or anything that

could become caught on branches,

brush or the moving parts of the unit.

Secure hair so it is above shoulder level.

For further instructions on proper

clothing see the safety precautions in

the instruction manual of the

KombiEngine / KombiMotor you are

using.

WARNING

Never modify this power tool in any way.

Only attachments supplied by STIHL

and expressly approved by STIHL for

use with the specific STIHL model are

authorized. Although certain

help to protect your

Clothing must be sturdy

and snug-fitting, but allow

complete freedom of

movement. Wear long

pants made of heavy

material to help protect

your legs. Do not wear

shorts, sandals or go

barefoot.

Good footing is very

important. Wear sturdy

boots with nonslip soles.

Steel-toed safety boots

are recommended.

unauthorized attachments are useable

with STIHL power tools, their use may,

in fact, be extremely dangerous.

If this tool is subjected to unusually high

loads for which it was not designed (e.g.

heavy impact or a fall), always check

that it is in good condition before

continuing work. Check in particular that

the fuel system is tight (no leaks) and

that the controls and safety devices are

working properly. Do not continue

operating this machine if it is damaged.

In case of doubt, have it checked by your

STIHL servicing dealer.

USING OF THE POWER TOOL

Transporting the Power Tool

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury from loss of

control and blade contact, never carry or

transport your power tool with the

cultivator blades moving.

WARNING

Always shut off the engine and make

sure the cultivator blades have stopped

before putting a power tool down.

It may be carried only in a horizontal

position. Grip the shaft in a manner that

the machine is balanced horizontally.

Keep the hot muffler away from your

body and the soil cultivating attachment

behind you.

WARNING

When transporting your power tool in a

vehicle, properly secure it to prevent

turnover, fuel spillage and damage to

the unit.

Before Operation

WARNING

Always check your power tool for proper

condition before starting. Never attempt

to modify the controls or safety devices.

WARNING

Never operate your power tool if it is

damaged, improperly adjusted or

maintained, or not completely and

securely assembled.

WARNING

Do not attach any soil cultivating

attachment to a unit without proper

installation of all required parts. Failure

to use the proper parts may cause the

cultivator blades to fly off and seriously

injure the operator or bystanders.

WARNING

The soil cultivating attachment must be

properly and securely assembled.

Inspect for loose parts (nuts, screws,

etc.) and for cracked, bent, warped or

damaged blades before starting work.

Replace damaged blades before using

the power tool.

WARNING

Arrows on the cultivator blades show the

proper direction of rotation and must

match the direction of the arrows molded

into the gearbox. See chapter,

"Mounting the Deflector, Gearbox and

Cultivator Blades."

Adjust the harness and front handle to

suit your size before starting work. To be

better prepared in case of an

emergency, practice releasing the

power tool from the harness as quickly

as possible.

Keep the handles clean and dry at all

times; it is particularly important to keep

them free of moisture, pitch, oil, fuel mix,

grease and resin in order for you to

maintain a firm grip and properly control

your power tool.

Starting

WARNING

Start the engine at least 10 feet (3 m)

from the fueling spot, outdoors only.

For specific starting instructions, see the

appropriate section of your

KombiEngine / KombiMotor manual.

Place the power tool on firm ground or

other solid surface in an open area.

Maintain good balance and secure

footing.

When starting, always stand to one side

of the unit to avoid the risk of injury from

contact with the rotating cultivator

blades.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury from loss of

control, do not attempt to "drop start"

your power tool.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury from loss of

control, be sure that the cultivator blades

are clear of you and all other

obstructions and objects, including the

ground, when starting. Engine speed at

starting throttle will be fast enough for

the clutch to engage and move the

cultivator blades.

Once the engine has started,

immediately blip the throttle trigger,

which should release the starting throttle

and allow the engine to slow down to

idle.

With the engine running only at idle,

attach the power tool to the spring hook

of your harness (see appropriate

chapter of this manual).

WARNING

Your power tool is a one-person

machine. Do not allow other persons in

the general work area, even when

starting.

See also the safety precautions on

starting in the instruction manual of the

KombiEngine / KombiMotor.

During Operation

Holding and Controlling the Power Tool

WARNING

Always hold the unit firmly with both

hands on the handles while you are

working. Wrap your fingers and thumbs

around the handles.

During operation, the operator's right

hand must grip the rear handle and the

operator's left hand must hold the front

handle. This applies to all operators,

even those who are left-handed. Wrap

your fingers and thumbs around the

handles.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of injury from loss of

control, never work on a ladder or on any

other insecure support. Never hold the

soil cultivating attachment above waist

height.

WARNING

Never attempt to operate your power

tool with one hand. Loss of control and

serious or fatal injury may result. To

reduce the risk of cut injuries, keep

hands and feet away from the cultivator

blades. Never touch a moving working

tool with your hand or any other part of

your body.

WARNING

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing

and balance at all times. Special care

must be taken in slippery conditions (wet

ground, snow) and in difficult, overgrown

terrain. Watch for hidden obstacles such

as tree stumps, roots and ditches to

avoid stumbling. For better footing, clear

away scrub and cuttings. Be extremely

cautious when working on slopes or

uneven ground.

Working Conditions

Operate and start your power tool only

outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

Operate it under good visibility and

daylight conditions only. Work carefully.

WARNING

If the soil being worked on or the

surrounding ground is coated with a

chemical substance (such as an active

pesticide or herbicide), read and follow

the instructions and warnings that

accompany the substance at issue.

WARNING

Substantial or repeated inhalation of

dust and other airborne contaminants, in

particular those with a smaller particle

size, may cause respiratory or other

illnesses. Control dust at the source

where possible. Use good work

practices, such as operating the unit so

that the wind or operating process

directs any dust raised by the power tool

away from the operator. Follow the

recommendations of EPA / OSHA /

NIOSH and occupational and trade

associations with respect to dust

("particulate matter"). When the

inhalation of dust cannot be

substantially controlled, i.e., kept at or

near the ambient (background) level, the

operator and any bystanders should

wear a respirator approved by NIOSH /

MSHA for the type of dust encountered.

DANGER

Never operate this power tool in the

vicinity of any wires or cables that may

be carrying electric current. Look

carefully for concealed wires before

starting work.

Ensure that there are no buried power

cables that may be carrying electric

current that could come into contact with

the cultivator blades.

Do not rely on the power tool's insulation

against electric shock, even when

holding the power tool by insulated

gripping surfaces.

Information on the routing of cables can

be obtained from public utilities and such

service providers as "Miss Utility" or

"One Call."

Operating Instructions

WARNING

Do not operate your power tool using the

starting throttle lock, as you do not have

control of the engine speed.

In the event of an emergency, shut off

the engine immediately – move the slide

control / stop switch / momentary stop

switch to 0 or STOP.

WARNING

The cultivator blades continues to rotate

for a short period after the throttle trigger

is released (flywheel effect).

To reduce the risk of eye and other

injury, always wear proper eye

protection (see section on "Proper

Clothing") and ensure that bystanders

are at least 17 feet (5 m) away. To

reduce the risk of damage to property,

also maintain this distance from such

objects as vehicles or windows. Any

coworkers who must be in the restricted

area should also wear goggles or

protective glasses.

Stop the engine immediately if you are

approached.

WARNING

Before you start work, examine the area

for stones, glass, fence wire, metal,

trash or other solid objects. The soil

cultivating attachment could throw

objects of this kind.

WARNING

Replace a cracked, bent, warped or

damaged blade immediately, even if

damage is limited to superficial cracks.

Such attachments may shatter at high

speed and cause serious or fatal injury.

WARNING

Avoid cutting close to fences, sides of

buildings, tree trunks, stones or similar

obstacles which could damage the blade

or lead to loss of control of the unit. Be

aware of a higher risk of ricochets in

such conditions. Flying objects or

damaged blades may cause serious or

fatal injuries to the operator and

bystanders. Avoid the roots of trees.

Large roots may jam the blades and

damage the machine. The tree may also

be damaged if its roots are severed.

WARNING

If the cultivator blades or deflector are

blocked or jammed, always shut off the

engine and ensure that the cultivator

blades have stopped before attempting

to clean or free them. Grass, weeds, etc.

should be cleared from the tool at

regular intervals.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious personal

injury from the unintentional rotation of

the cultivator blades, always shut off the

engine before attempting to remove the

KombiTool or its cultivator blades.

WARNING

The gearbox becomes hot during

operation. To reduce the risk of burn

injury, do not touch the gear housing

until it has cooled.

MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND

STORING

WARNING

Always stop the engine and make sure

that the cultivator blades have stopped

before attempting any maintenance,

repair or cleaning. Do not attempt any

maintenance or repair work not

described in your KombiEngine and

KombiTool instruction manuals.

WARNING

Use only identical STIHL replacement

parts for maintenance and repair. Use of

non-STIHL parts may cause serious or

fatal injury.

Wear gloves when handling or

performing maintenance on blades.

WARNING

Never repair damaged attachments by

welding, straightening or modifying the

shape. This may cause parts of the

attachment to come off and result in

serious or fatal injuries.

Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws,

except the carburetor adjustment

screws, after each use.

Do not clean your machine with a

pressure washer. The solid jet of water

may damage parts of the machine.

Store the power tool in a dry and high or

locked location out of reach of children.

General

Preparations

N Start the engine.

N Put on the shoulder strap.

Working Technique

You can work with your cultivator in the

forward (1) and backward (2) directions,

from left to right or vice versa (3) or in a

circular motion.

Choose the best method to suit your

purpose, i.e. this depends on the shape

and size of the area and soil conditions.

Working in an alternating backwards

and forwards motion is particularly

suitable for loosening soil.

WARNING

The power tool will naturally pull away

from the operator when in contact with

the ground. Maintain a firm grip and

secure footing during operation to

reduce the risk of personal injury from

loss of control.

Typical Applications

N Breaking up soil

A few preparations are necessary before

you begin to break up soil which has

been previously tilled (e.g. last year's

vegetable or flower garden). First clear

away surface weeds, the remains of

other plants, and objects like rocks,

glass, wood, and metal that could be

thrown or flung by the cultivator blades.

Hold the power tool firmly with both

hands and till only a small area at a time

to the required depth.

Finish tilling the area by guiding the

power tool in such a way that you leave

no footprints. Use a rake to level off the

entire area.

N Loosening soil around plants

Only loosen the surface soil around

plants. Avoid going too deep as this

could damage the shallow roots of some

plants.

To avoid any damage to the power tool

or trees, be wary not to catch the

cultivator blades on the large roots of

trees.

N Working in soil improvers

The cultivator can be used for mulching

with loam, compost, leaves, other

organic material or fertilizers.

Prepare the area by removing all old

roots and the remains of large plants.

Remove objects like rocks, glass, wood,

and metal that could be thrown or flung

by the cultivator blades. Spread the

mulch evenly on the ground.

Work in the mulch with a circular or back

and forth motion.

Finish off by leveling the area with a

rake.

N Trenching or furrowing

Walk slowly backward and pull the

cultivator to create the furrow required.

Repeat as necessary to obtain deeper

furrows.

Cleaning the cultivator blades

Parts of plants, e.g. roots, can become

tightly wrapped around or between the

cultivator blades during operation. To

clean the cultivator blades:

– Shut off the power tool and wait for

the cultivator blades to stop.

– Pull the hitch pins out of the axle.

– Pull the cultivator blades off the

axle.

– Remove the material caught

between the cultivator blades.

WARNING

Cultivator blades are sharp. Always

wear heavy duty work gloves when

handling the cultivator blades to reduce

the risk of injury.

KombiEngines

Only KombiEngines supplied by STIHL

or expressly approved by STIHL for use

with the specific model are authorized.

Only use this KombiTool with the

following KombiEngines / KombiMotors:

STIHL KM 55 R, KM 56 R, KM 85 R,

KM 90 R, KM 94 R, KM 110 R,

KM 130 R, KMA 130 R, KMA 135 R

If the gearbox or deflector requires

repair or service, follow the instructions

below to ensure the KombiTool is re-

assembled properly and securely before

use. Ensure the cultivator blades are

properly mounted and secured on the

axle with the hitch pins before operation.

Deflector

N Slide the deflector (1) onto the drive

tube (2) until distance "a" is 4 in.

(100 mm).

N Line up the deflector so that it is

vertical and its clamp screw (3) is on

the top of the drive tube, in line with

the locating lug (arrow).

N Tighten the clamp screw.

NOTICE

Check that the deflector is secure – it

must not be possible to rotate it on the

drive tube.

Gearbox and Cultivator

Gearbox

N Loosen the clamp screws (4).

N Push the gearbox (5) onto the drive

tube (2) until the drive tube is fully

inserted into the gearbox housing

and the drive shaft makes a

mechanical connection with the

receiver.

N Line up the gearbox (1) on the drive

tube (2) so that the axle (3) is below

the drive tube when the locating

lug (4) is facing up.

N The top clamp screw (5) on the

gearbox should line up with the

clamp screw (7) on the deflector

and the locating lug (4) on the top of

the drive tube.

N Tighten the clamp screws (5, 6)

firmly.

NOTICE

It must not be possible to rotate the

gearbox on the drive tube.

The axle (1) must be below the drive

tube (2). The arrows on the gearbox

indicate the direction the cultivator

blades will rotate.

WARNING

Cultivator Blades

Take care not to lose the two washers

on the axle.

N Arrange the blades in the order they

will be fitted on the axle, noting the

following points:

Left-hand and right-hand blades are

different. The direction of rotation is

marked with arrows on the gearbox and

blades.

N Rotate the inner right-hand

blade (7) on the axle until it can be

pushed into position – check the

direction of rotation again (arrows).

The hub of the inner blade is larger than

that of the outer blade.

N Rotate the outer right-hand

blade (8) on the axle until it can be

pushed into position – check the

direction of rotation again (arrows).

N Insert and engage the hitch pin (9)

in the hole in the axle – fold the hitch

pin flat against the blade.

N Use the same procedure to mount

the cultivator blades on the left-

hand side.

WARNING

Cultivator blades are sharp. Always

wear heavy duty work gloves when

handling the cultivator blades to reduce

the risk of injury.

An improperly mounted

N Push the locating lug (1) on the

drive tube into the slot (2) in the

coupling sleeve.

When correctly installed, the red line (3)

(arrow point) must be flush with the end

of the coupling sleeve.

N Tighten down the star knob (4) .

Removing the KombiTool

N Reverse the above sequence to

remove the drive tube.

The type and style of the harness,

carrying ring and carabiner (spring hook)

depend on the market.

Shoulder Strap

N Put on the shoulder strap (1).

N Adjust the length of the strap so that

the carabiner (2) is about a hand’s

width below your right hip.

Full Harness

N Put on the full harness (1).

N Adjust the length of the strap so that

the carabiner (2) is about a hand’s

width below your right hip.

Attaching Machine to Harness

N Attach the carabiner (1) to the

carrying ring (2) on the drive tube –

hold the carrying ring steady.

Disconnecting Machine from Harness

N Press down the bar on the

carabiner (1) and pull the carrying

ring (2) out of the carabiner.

Practice quickly detaching the power

tool from the carabiner as described

under "Disconnecting Machine from

Harness."

If you are using a shoulder strap:

Practice slipping the strap off your

shoulder.

If you are using a full harness: Practice

quickly opening the locking plate and

slipping the harness straps off your

shoulders.

The machine must be quickly thrown off

in the event of imminent danger.

Practice removing and putting down the

machine as you would in an emergency.

To avoid damage, do not throw the

machine to the ground when practicing.

Starting the Engine

Always follow the operating instructions

for the KombiEngine / KombiMotor.

N Place the machine on the ground: It

must rest securely on the machine

support. Rest the deflector end of

the drive tube on a raised support

(e.g. mound, log, brick).

To reduce the risk of injury, check that

the cultivator blades are not touching the

ground or any other obstacles.

N Make sure you have a firm footing,

either standing, stooping or

kneeling.

N Hold the machine with you left hand

and press it down firmly – do not

touch the controls on the control

handle – see KombiEngine /

KombiMotor instruction manual.

NOTICE

Do not stand or kneel on the drive tube.

WARNING

The cultivator blades may begin to rotate

as soon as the engine starts. For this

reason, blip the throttle after starting –

the engine returns to idling speed.

EL OPERADOR

Condición física

Usted debe estar en buenas

condiciones físicas y psíquicas y no

encontrarse bajo los efectos de ninguna

sustancia (drogas, alcohol, etc.) que le

pueda restar visibilidad, destreza o

juicio. No maneje esta máquina si está

fatigado.

ADVERTENCIA

Esté alerta. Si se cansa, tómese un

descanso. El cansancio puede provocar

una pérdida del control. El uso de

cualquier herramienta motorizada es

fatigoso. Si usted padece de alguna

dolencia que se pueda ver agravada por

la fatiga, consulte a su médico antes de

utilizar esta máquina.

Vestimenta adecuada

ADVERTENCIA

Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones, se

debe usar el equipo protector adecuado.

El deflector provisto con la herramienta

motorizada no siempre protege al

operador de todos los objetos extraños

bufandas, corbatas, joyas, pantalones

acampanados o con vueltas, pelo largo

ADVERTENCIA

Nunca modifique en modo alguno esta

herramienta motorizada. Únicamente

están autorizados los accesorios y

USO DE LA HERRAMIENTA

descalzos.

Arranque

La inhalación repetida o en grandes

cantidades de polvo y de otros

contaminantes presentes en el aire, y

especialmente de partículas pequeñas,

posible. Aplique buenas prácticas de

trabajo; por ejemplo, trabaje de manera

que el viento o el proceso de corte

EPA/OSHA/NIOSH, de las asociaciones

respecta al polvo ("materia

particulada"). Si no es posible controlar

la inhalación de polvo de manera

significativa, es decir, mantenerla al

nivel de ambiente (fondo) o cerca del

PELIGRO

Nunca utilice esta herramienta

motorizada cerca de alambres o cables

Preste atención y compruebe si hay

alambres o cables ocultos antes de

empezar a trabajar.

Instrucciones de manejo

ADVERTENCIA

No use el bloqueo del acelerador de

arranque para manejar la herramienta

motorizada, puesto que así no podrá

controlar la velocidad del motor.

En caso de emergencia, apague el

motor inmediatamente – mueva el

control deslizante / interruptor

momentáneo de parada a 0 o STOP.

ADVERTENCIA

Las cuchillas del minicultivador sigue

girando por un rato después que se

suelta el gatillo de aceleración (efecto

de volante).

Para reducir el riesgo de lesiones en los

ojos o en otras partes del cuerpo, lleve

siempre una protección adecuada

(consulte el apartado "Vestimenta

adecuada"), y asegúrese de que no hay

ADVERTENCIA

Técnica de trabajo

Se puede trabajar con el cultivador en

los sentidos de avance (1) y retroceso

(2), de izquierda a derecha o viceversa

(3), o en sentido circular.

Elija el mejor método para su trabajo, es

decir dependiendo de la forma y tamaño

del lugar de trabajo y las condiciones del

suelo.

Si se trabaja alternando el sentido hacia

adelante y hacia atrás, esto resulta

particularmente útil para soltar la tierra

compactada.

ADVERTENCIA

La herramienta eléctrica se aleja

naturalmente del operador cuando entra

en contacto con el suelo. Mantenga un

agarre firme y un pie seguro durante la

operación para reducir el riesgo de

lesiones personales por pérdida de

control.

Usos típicos

N Rotura del suelo

Hay que hacer unos pocos trabajos

preparativos antes de empezar a

romper el suelo previamente cultivado

(por ejemplo, en el jardín del año

pasado). En primer lugar, elimine las

malas hierbas de la superficie, los restos

de otras plantas y los objetos como

piedras, vidrio, madera y metal que

puedan ser lanzados o arrojados por las

cuchillas del minicultivador.

Agarre la herramienta eléctrica

firmemente con ambas manos y cultive

a la profundidad deseada solamente

una zona pequeña a la vez.

Termine el cultivo guiando la

herramienta eléctrica para evitar dejar

zona de trabajo.

los árboles grandes.

N Incorporación de mejoradores del

suelo

La cultivadora puede usarse para la

incorporación de marga, tierra de

jardinero, hojas u otros materiales

orgánicos o fertilizantes.

Prepare la zona eliminando todas las

raíces viejas y los restos de los cultivos

grandes. Elimine los objetos como

piedras, vidrio, madera y metal que

puedan ser lanzados o arrojados por las

cuchillas del minicultivador. Esparza el

mullido uniformemente sobre el suelo.

Incorpore el mulching con un

movimiento giratorio o hacia adelante y

atrás.

Termine el trabajo nivelando la zona con

un rastrillo.

N Zanjeo o apertura de surcos

Camine lentamente hacia atrás y tire de

la cultivadora para formar el surco

requerido. Repita según sea necesario

para formar surcos más profundos.

Limpieza de cuchillas del minicultivador

Las piezas de plantas, tales como las

raíces, pueden enrollarse alrededor de

las cuchillas del minicultivador o entre

las mismas durante el trabajo. Para

limpiar las cuchillas del minicultivador:

– Apague la herramienta eléctrica y

espere a que las cuchillas del

minicultivador se detengan.

– Extraiga los pasadores de

enganche del eje.

– Quite las cuchillas del

minicultivador del eje.

– Retire el material atrapado entre las

cuchillas del minicultivador.

ADVERTENCIA

Las cuchillas del minicultivador están

afiladas. Utilice siempre guantes de

trabajo resistentes cuando manipule las

cuchillas del minicultivador para reducir

el riesgo de lesiones.

Si la caja de engranajes o el deflector

necesitan ser reparados o revisados,

siga las siguientes instrucciones para

asegurarse de que el KombiTool se

vuelve a montar correctamente y de

forma segura antes de utilizarlo.

Asegúrese de que las cuchillas del

minicultivador estén bien montadas y

aseguradas en el eje con los pasadores

de enganche antes de la operación.

Deflector

N Deslice el deflector (1) en el tubo de

mando (2) hasta que la distancia "a"

sea de 4 in. (100 mm).

N Alinee el deflector de manera que

quede en posición vertical y su

tornillo de sujeción (3) esté en la

parte superior del tubo de

transmisión, en línea con la oreja de

fijación (flecha).

N Apriete el tornillo de sujeción.

INDICACIÓN

Verifique que el deflector esté bien fijado

– no debe ser posible girarlo en el tubo

impulsor.

Caja de engranajes

N Suelte los tornillos de fijación (4).

N Empuje la caja de cambios (5)

sobre el tubo de accionamiento (2)

hasta que el tubo de accionamiento

esté completamente insertado en la

caja de cambios y el eje de

accionamiento haga una conexión

mecánica con el receptor.

N Alinee la caja de cambios (1) en el

tubo de transmisión (2) de manera

que el eje (3) quede por debajo del

tubo de transmisión cuando la

lengüeta de fijación (4) esté

orientada hacia arriba.

N El tornillo de sujeción superior (5)

de la caja de cambios debe

alinearse con el tornillo de sujeción

(7) del deflector y con la orejeta de

fijación (4) de la parte superior del

tubo de transmisión.

N Apriete los tornillos de fijación (5, 6)

bien firmes.

INDICACIÓN

No debe ser posible girar la caja de

engranajes en el tubo de mando.

El eje (1) debe quedar debajo del tubo

de transmisión (2). Las flechas de la

caja de cambios indican el sentido de

giro de las cuchillas del minicultivador.

Procure no perder las dos arandelas en

N Arregle las cuchillas en la secuencia

de instalación en el eje, observando

los siguientes puntos:

Las cuchillas izquierdas y derechas son

diferentes. El sentido de giro está

marcado con flechas en la caja de

engranajes y en las cuchillas.

N Gire la cuchilla derecha interior (7)

en el eje hasta que sea posible

empujarla a su posición – Verifique

otra vez el sentido de giro (flechas).

La cuchilla giratoria interior tiene un

cubo más grande que el de la cuchilla

exterior.

N Gire la cuchilla derecha exterior (8)

en el eje hasta que sea posible

empujarla a su posición - Verifique

otra vez el sentido de giro (flechas).

N Coloque y enganche el pasador de

enganche (9) en el agujero del eje –

doble el pasador de enganche

hasta que esté plano contra la

cuchilla.

N Utilice el mismo procedimiento para

colocar las cuchillas del

minicultivador en el lado izquierdo.

ADVERTENCIA

Las cuchillas del minicultivador están

afiladas. Utilice siempre guantes de

trabajo resistentes cuando manipule las

cuchillas del minicultivador para reducir

el riesgo de lesiones.

N Empujar el vástago de ubicación (1)

en el tubo de mando en la ranura (2)

del manguito acoplador.

Cuando la instalación es correcta, la

raya roja (3) (punta de la flecha) debe

estar a ras con el extremo del manguito

de acoplamiento.

N Apriete la perilla (4) firmemente.
