1. Work area safety

a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite

accidents.

b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in

the presence of ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create

sparks, which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool.

Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2. Electrical safety

a) Double insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade

is wider than the other.) This plug will t in a polarized outlet only one

way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still

does not t, contact a qualied electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do

not change the plug in any way. Double insulation eliminates the need for

the three-wired grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.

b) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a

power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

c) Handle the cord carefully. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling

or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp

edges and moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of

electric shock.

d) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protected supply. Use of a

GFCI reduces the risk of electric shock.

e) When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord

marked “W-A” or “W”. These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce

the risk of electric shock.

f) Do not use the equipment close to ammable objects.

3. Personal safety

a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when

operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired

or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of

inattention while operating power tools may result in serious the risk of

personal injury.

b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.

Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat,

or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal

injuries.

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position

before connecting to power source, picking up or carrying the tool.

Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or energizing power

tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool

on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool

may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This

enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair,

clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long

hair can be caught in moving parts.

4. Power tool use and care

a) Do not force the power tool. Use the power tool correctly for your

application. The correct use will do the job better and safer at the rate for

which the tool was designed.

b) Do not use the power tool if the switch doesn’t turn it on & off. Any

power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must

be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any

adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such

preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool

accidentally.

d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow

persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate

the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts,

breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s

operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many

accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.

f) Use the power tool, accessories etc. in accordance with these

instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work

to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those

intended could result in a hazardous situation.

g) Do not attempt to modify the power tool in any way. The use of any

attachment or accessory other than those included could result in damage to

the power tool and injury to the operator.

h) Service should only be carried out by qualied professional technician

using original spare parts. Failure to do so may result in considerable

danger to the user, including electric shock or injury.

i) Always observe general re safety precautions when using certain

power tools inside your house or workshop. It is recommended that you

have an appropriate re extinguisher available at all times while working.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNINGS

1) Always use proper guard with grinding wheel. A guard protects the

operator from broken wheel fragments. When using grinding wheel

attachments, the guard must always be attached to the tool and positioned

for maximum safety, so the least amount of wheel is exposed from the side

the tool is being operated.

2) Accessories must be rated for at least the speed recommended on the

tool warning label. Wheels and other accessories running over rated speed

can y apart and cause injury. Grinding wheels or any other accessory must

have a maximum safe operating speed greater than the “no load RPM”

marked on the tool’s nameplate.

3) Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation

where the cutting tools may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and

shock the operator.

4) Always use auxiliary handle for maximum control over torque reaction

or kick-back. Operation of the grinder without the side handle could cause

loss of control of the grinder, resulting in possible serious personal injury.

5) Before using a grinder or installing a new wheel, inspect the grinding

wheel for chips and cracks. Remove bad wheels immediately. Run the tool

at no load for one minute, holding the tool in the direction away from people.

Wheels with aws will normally break apart during this time.

6) Carefully handle both the tool and individual grinding wheels to avoid

chipping or cracking. Install a new wheel if tool is dropped while grinding.

Do not use a wheel that may be damaged. Fragments from a wheel that

bursts during operation will y away at great velocity possibly striking you or

bystanders.

7) Do not use grinding wheel that is larger than the maximum

recommended size for your tool, or worn down damaged wheels from

larger grinders. Wheels intended for large angle grinders are not suitable

for the high speed of a small angle grinder. These wheels may easily burst

and the fragments strike you or bystanders.

8) Do not use depressed hub grinding wheels for cut-off operations.

Depressed hub wheels or type 27 wheels are not intended for side loading

and may shatter under overload.

9) Position the cord clear of the spinning grinding wheel or any other

accessory. Do not wrap the cord around your arm or wrist. If you lose

control and have the cord wrapped around your arm or wrist it may entrap

you and cause injury.

10) Avoid bouncing and snagging the wheel especially when working

corners, sharp edges etc. this can cause loss of control and kick-back.

11) Clean out your tool often, especially after heavy use. Dust and grit

containing metal particles often accumulate on interior surfaces and could

create an electric shock hazard.

12) Do not grind or sand near ammable materials. Sparks from the wheel

could ignite these materials.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNINGS

Some examples of these chemicals are:

1. Lead from lead-based paints.

2. Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products.

3. Arsenic and chromium from chemically-treated lumber.

Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of

work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area,

and work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are

specially designed to lter out microscopic particles.

some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other

construction activities, contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects

or other reproductive harm. !

13) This tool can be converted to a sander. When grinding is resumed the

proper guard and wheel anges must be reinstalled before proceeding with

grinding. The guard must always be attached to the tool and positioned for

maximum safety, so the least amount of wheel is exposed from the side the

tool is being operated. The grinding wheel guard cannot be used for most

sanding operations or for wire brushing.

14) When sanding, do not use an oversized sanding disc. A larger sanding

disc will extend beyond the sanding pad causing snagging, tearing of the disc

or kick-back. Extra paper extending beyond the sanding pad can also cause

serious lacerations.

15) When sanding chemically pressure-treated lumber, paint that may be

lead-based, or any other materials that may contain carcinogens, use

special precautions. A suitable breathing respirator must be worn by all

personal entering the work area. Work area should be sealed by plastic

sheeting and persons not protected should be kept out until work area is

thoroughly cleaned.

16) Direct the discharge of the spinning wire brush away from you. Small

particles and tiny wire fragments may be discharged at high velocity during the

“cleaning” action with these brushes and may become imbedded in your skin.

Intended Use

The 4. 5” angle grinder is intended for cutting, roughing and brushing metal

and stone materials without using water. For cutting stone, a cutting guide is

required.

Carefully remove the tool from its packaging and check if the following parts are

ASSEMBLY

Wheel guard

Place the wheel guard (7) on the spindle collar (4). Adjust the position of the wheel guard

(7) to the requirements of the work process. Close the screw to secure the guard.

The closed side of the wheel guard (7) must always point towards the operator.

Auxiliary Handle (see gure B)

When working with the grinder, always mount the auxiliary handle.

Screw in the auxiliary handle (2) on the motor head depending on the chosen working method.

This tool has two holes to change the auxiliary handle position, please select the proper one

from “1” to “2”

Mounting the grinding/cutting accessories

Before performing any modications on the tool itself, pull the power plug.

Grinding Wheels

Clean the grinder spindle and all parts to be mounted. Place the mounting ange

onto the spindle. Place the grinding wheel onto the mounting ange. The arbor

(mounting hole) in the grinding wheel must t properly onto the mounting ange

without looseness. Thread the clamp nut onto the spindle. Engage the spindle

lock, then tighten the clamp nut using the spanner.

Do not overtighten the clamp nut.

Flap disc

Depending on the application and if necessary, remove the Wheel guard (7). Place

the special retainer mounting ange (8) and the ap disc on the grinder spindle

(5). Screw on the clamping nut (10) and tighten it with the two-pin spanner.

Cup brush

Depending on the application and if necessary, remove the Wheel guard (7) The

grinding tool must be screwed onto the grinder spindle (5) until it rests rmly

against the grinder spindle ange at the end of the grinder spindle threads. Tighten

with an open-ended spanner.

WARNING!

Ensure the tool is unplugged from the power source when making adjustments

or when installing and removing accessories.

ATTENTION

After mounting the grinding, wheel/disc or accessory, ensure that it is mounted

correctly and turns freely prior to turning the tool on.

WARNING!

Use only grinding wheels, discs and accessories that are rated for speeds that

are at least as fast as the maximum speed of the tool. Grinding wheels, discs

and accessories may become hot during use. Do not touch them until they have

OPERATION

Tip: Test run

Check the grinding tool before use. The grinding wheel, disc or

accessory must be awlessly mounted and be able to rotate freely.

Perform a test run of at least 30 seconds without load. Do not use

damaged or vibrating grinding tools.

WARNING

Wheels used for edge grinding may break or kick-back if they bend or

twist while the tool is being used to do deep grinding. To reduce the risk

of serious injury, limit the use of these wheels with a standard Type 27

guard to shallow notching (less than 1/2” in depth). The open side of the

guard must be positioned away from the operator.

Always use the correct voltage: The voltage of the power supply must match

with the values on the nameplate of the tool.

Switching On and Off

To start the tool, press the button and at the same time move the button forward.

Then the tool will run continuously. To turn the tool off, just press the button.

Grinding

The best grinding results can be achieved with a 30° to 40° approach angle.

Move the tool back and forth with moderate pressure. In this manner, the work

piece will not over-heat nor discolor and no ridges will be formed.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance and Cleaning

lBefore performing any work on the power tool, disconnect the power cord plug

from the power source from the power source.

lFor safe and proper working, always keep the tool and ventilation slots clean.

lRegularly check to see if any dust foreign material has entered the slots near the

motor and around the on/off switch. Use a soft brush to remove any accumulated

dust. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes while cleaning.

lIf the body of the tool needs cleaning, wipe it with soft damp cloth. A mild

detergent can be used but nothing containing alcohol, petrol or any other strong

cleaning agent.

lNever use caustic agent to clean plastic parts.

lRegularly check the hardware. They may vibrate and loosen over time.

1. Seguridad en el área de trabajo

2. Seguridad eléctrica

a) Las herramientas con aislamiento doble vienen equipadas con un

el enchufe no entra por completo en el tomacorriente, intente ponerlo

4. Uso y mantenimiento de la herramienta eléctrica

desintegrarse y ocasionar heridas. Los discos de amolar y otros accesorios deben tener

una velocidad máxima de operación segura mayor a las “RPM en vacío” que se indican

en la placa de identicación de la herramienta.

3) Cuando realice una operación donde la herramienta de corte pueda entrar en

contacto con cableado oculto o con su propio cable, sujete la herramienta por

las supercies de asimiento aisladas. El contacto con un cable con corriente hará

que la corriente circule por las partes metálicas expuestas de la herramienta y podrá

electrocutar al operario.

4) Siempre utilice el mango auxiliar para tener un control máximo sobre una reacción

del par motor o un contragolpe. Utilizar la amoladora sin el mango lateral puede

causar la pérdida de control de la misma y provocar lesiones personales graves.

5) Compruebe el disco cuidadosamente para ver si tiene grietas o daños antes de

comenzar la operación. Reemplace un disco dañado de inmediato. Haga funcionar la

herramienta en vacío durante un minuto aproximadamente, sujetándola alejada de otras

personas. Normalmente, si el disco está defectuoso, se romperá durante esta prueba.

6) Manipule cuidadosamente la herramienta y los discos de amolar individuales

para evitar roturas o rajaduras. Instale un disco nuevo si la herramienta se cae al

amolar. No use un disco que pueda estar dañado. Si un disco se rompe durante el

funcionamiento, sus fragmentos saldrán despedidos a gran velocidad y posiblemente le

golpearán a usted o a las personas que lo rodean.

7) No use un disco de amolar de mayor tamaño que el máximo recomendado para

su herramienta, ni uno desgastado y dañado perteneciente a una amoladora

más grande. Los discos diseñados para amoladoras angulares grandes no son

convenientes para la alta velocidad de una amoladora angular pequeña. Estos

8) No utilice discos de amolar de centro hundido para operaciones de corte. Estos

discos o los de tipo 27 no están diseñados para carga lateral y pueden romperse si se

los sobrecarga.

9) Coloque el cable lejos del disco o cualquier otro accesorio en funcionamiento.

No enrolle el cable alrededor de su brazo o muñeca ya que si pierde el control podría

causarle lesiones.

10) Evite que el disco rebote o se atasque, especialmente cuando trabaja en esquinas,

bordes alados, etc., esto puede causar la pérdida de control y un contragolpe.

11) Limpie su herramienta con frecuencia, especialmente después de un uso

intensivo. Con frecuencia, en las supercies interiores se acumula polvo que contiene

partículas metálicas las cuales pueden provocar una descarga eléctrica.

12) Nunca se debe amolar ni lijar cerca de materiales inamables. Las chispas del disco

NORMAS DE SEGURIDAD ESPECÍFICAS

un aparato de respiración adecuado. El área de trabajo debe cerrarse con láminas de

plástico y las personas sin protección deben mantenerse fuera de la misma hasta que esté

completamente limpia.

16) Dirija la descarga del cepillo de alambre en funcionamiento lejos de usted. Cuando se

realiza una “limpieza” con estos cepillos, pequeñas partículas y diminutos fragmentos de

alambre pueden salir disparados a alta velocidad e incrustarse en la piel.

materiales metálicos y piedra sin utilizar agua. Para cortar piedra se requiere

una guía de corte.

Compruebe las piezas de entrega

Retire con cuidado la herramienta de su embalaje y compruebe si las siguientes

MONTAJE

Protección del disco

Coloque la protección del disco (7) en el collarín del eje (4). Ajuste la posición de la

protección del disco (7) según los requerimientos del proceso de trabajo. Ajuste el

tornillo para sujetar la protección.

La parte cerrada de la protección del disco (7) siempre debe apuntar hacia el operador.

Mango auxiliar (ver gura B)

Cuando se trabaja con la amoladora siempre se debe montar el mango auxiliar.

Atornille el mango auxiliar (2) en la cabeza del motor en función del método de trabajo elegido.

Esta herramienta tiene dos agujeros para cambiar la posición del mango auxiliar, seleccione el

apropiado entre “1” y “2”.

Montaje de los accesorios para amolar/cortar

Siempre desenchufe la herramienta antes de realizarle alguna modicación.

Ruedas de amolar

Limpie el eje de la amoladora y todas las piezas a montar. Coloque la brida de

montaje en el eje. Coloque la rueda de amolar en la brida de montaje. El mandril

(agujero de montaje) de la rueda de amolar debe ajustarse adecuadamente a la

brida de montaje sin holgura. Enrosque la tuerca de jación en el eje. Enganche

la traba del eje y apriete la tuerca de jación con la llave. No apriete demasiado la

tuerca de jación.

Disco de láminas

Dependiendo de la aplicación y si es necesario, retire la protección de la rueda (7).

Coloque la brida de retención de montaje especial (8) y el disco de láminas en el eje de

la amoladora (5). Atornille la tuerca de jación (10) y ajústela con la llave de dos tetones.

Cepillo de vaso

Dependiendo de la aplicación y si es necesario, retire la protección de la rueda (7) La

herramienta de amolar debe estar atornillada al eje (5) hasta que se asiente rmemente

contra la brida del eje al nal de la rosca del eje. Ajustar con una llave ja.

¡ADVERTENCIA!

Asegúrese de que la herramienta esté desconectada de la fuente de energía al

realizar ajustes o al instalar y retirar accesorios.

ATENCIÓN

Después de montar la rueda/disco de amolar o accesorio, asegúrese de que esté

montada de forma correcta y que gire libremente antes de encender la herramienta.

de tipo 27 estándar para hacer supercial el marcado (menos de 1/2” de profundidad). El

lado abierto de la protección debe colocarse lejos del operador.

Utilice siempre la tensión correcta: la tensión de la fuente de alimentación

debe coincidir con los valores indicados en la placa de identicación de la

herramienta.

Encendido y apagado

Para iniciar la herramienta, presione el botón y al mismo tiempo muévalo hacia

adelante. A continuación, la herramienta se ejecutará de forma continua. Para

activar la herramienta, basta con pulsar el botón.

Amolado

Los mejores resultados para amolar pueden obtenerse con un ángulo

de aproximación de 30° a 40°. Mueva la herramienta de un lado a otro

aplicando una presión moderada. De esta manera, la pieza de trabajo no se

sobrecalentará ni se decolorará y no se formarán crestas.

MANTENIMIENTO

Mantenimiento y limpieza

l Antes de realizar algún trabajo en la herramienta eléctrica, desconecte el cable de

alimentación de la fuente de alimentación.

lPara un trabajo seguro y adecuado, mantenga siempre limpias las ranuras de ventilación de

la herramienta.

lRevise periódicamente que no haya entrado ningún tipo de polvo en las ranuras cerca

del motor y alrededor del interruptor de encendido/apagado. Utilice un cepillo suave para

eliminar el polvo acumulado. Use anteojos de seguridad para proteger sus ojos durante la

limpieza.

lSi el cuerpo de la herramienta necesita limpieza, límpielo con un paño suave y húmedo.

Puede utilizar un detergente, pero nada que contenga alcohol, gasolina ni cualquier otro

agente de limpieza concentrado.

lNunca use agentes cáusticos para limpiar las piezas de plástico.

l Compruebe regularmente los accesorios. Con el paso del tiempo pueden vibrar y aojarse.
