To begin cutting hair:
1. The hair should be
combed in its natural
direction.
2. Using the longest
comb attachment, trim
sides from the bottom
upward. Hold clipper
lightly against the hair
with teeth of the comb
attachment pointing
up ward, yet flat against
the head. Gradually lift
the clipper upward and
outward through the hair,
trimming just a little at
a time.
Repeat around sides and
back of head.
If you want hair to be
even shorter:
A) Apply more pressure
to the head with the comb attachment that is
in place. This takes a little practice, of course.
OR
B) Just switch to a shorter comb attachment.
Remember, it’s better to
leave too much hair than
too little. For longer hair on
top, use the barber comb
and lift hair on the top of
the head, cutting over the
comb. Or hold the hair
between the fingers and
cut to desired length. Always working from
the front to the back of the head, gradually
cut the hair shorter by reducing the space
between the comb or fingers and the head.
Comb often to check for uneven strands,
and to get rid of trimmed hair.
OUTLINING
Outlining requires no
attachments. Comb hair into
the desired style. Position
the clipper between the
sideburns and the ear (see
illustration), making sure the
corner edge of the blade is
against the hairline. With the
outline of the hair as your
guide, slowly move the clip-
per over, around and behind
the ears. For the back of
the neck and the sideburns,
hold the clipper upside down (see illustration)
and, holding it against the skin at the length
desired, move the clipper downward.
STOP. COMB. CHECK.
For best results, do as the professionals do:
Comb hair often, and check clipping results
as you comb. This way you avoid uneven
sides, bangs, neckline, etc.
SHORT CUTS TO PERFECT
FLATTOPS, CREW CUTS, ETC.
Always cut from the back of the neck to
the crown, using the longest comb setting.
Hold the comb attachment flat against the
head and slowly move the clipper up through
the hair. Use the same technique for the
sides, cutting from the bottom to the
upper side of the head.
For the front to the crown,
cut the hair against the
direction in which it grows.
Then even it up with
the sides.
For a flattop, use the
flat comb, not the comb
attachment. Just cut hair
on top of the head over flat
comb (see illustration).

NOTE: Never pull on the clipper cord. Never
twist or wrap the cord around the clipper. Lay
it flat with the cord coiled up when not in use.
STORAGE: When not in use, your clipper
should be disconnected, allowed to cool and
stored in a safe, dry location, out of reach of
children.
Any other servicing should be performed by
an authorized service representative.

absence of a purchase receipt, the warranty period
shall be 60 months from the date of manufacture.

you need to achieve professional haircuts at
home. It features a powerful clipper with
adjustable taper control and Japanese steel
blades. Also included are 8 comb attachments
for different hair lengths. It also comes with a
barber comb, barber scissors, cleaning brush,
barber cape, a carry case for easy storage
and travel, lubricating oil and a blade guard
for easy maintenance of the clipper blades.
OILING THE BLADES (OIL INCLUDED)
1. Oil the clipper blades once a month

THE CONAIR GUIDE TO CUTTING
HAIR AT HOME
Before you start:
1. Inspect your clipper. Make sure it’s free of
hair and dirt, properly oiled and running
smoothly.
2. Place the barber cape or a towel around
the neck of the person whose hair is to be
cut.
3. Seat the person so that his or her head is
at your eye level. This gives you greater
visibility and control.
4. First, comb hair until it’s tangle free. Then
hold clipper in a comfortable grip. Now you’re
ready to cut.
MEDIUM TO LONG CUT
To begin, cut only a small amount of hair until
you become used to the length each
attachment leaves the hair. Try the longest
attachment on the clipper first. If you want a
shorter cut, you can then use shorter combs.
• Short comb attachment (number 1) cuts
hair to 1/8" (3mm).
• Medium-Short comb attachment (number
2) cuts hair to 1/4" (6mm).
• Medium-Long comb attachment (number 3)
cuts hair to 3/8" (10mm).
• Long comb attachment (number 4) cuts hair
to 1/2" (13mm).
• Long comb attachment (number 5) cuts hair
to 5/8" (16mm).
• Long comb attachment (number 6) cuts hair
to 3/4" (19mm).

USER MAINTENANCE

CARE OF YOUR CLIPPER
IF YOU DETERMINE THAT BLADE
ALIGNMENT IS INCORRECT:
Conair
®
hair clippers are carefully inspected
to ensure that the blades are in perfect align-
ment. Of course, you will need to realign the
blades after removal for cleaning or replace-
ment, or if they should be knocked out of
alignment. How can you tell if blades need
realigning? Simply match them up, point for
point, to conform with FIG. 1 below:
To prevent the clipper from contacting the
skin or cutting too closely, make certain that
the end top blade teeth are 1/32" to 1/16"
back from bottom blade.
To Align Blades:
1. Unplug clipper and slightly loosen screws.
(See FIG. 2)
2. Position the extreme left-hand tooth of the
top blade so that it either covers or appears
on the left of the first small tooth on the
bottom blade.

ADJUSTABLE TAPER LEVER
Just like professional clippers, the Conair
®
taper lever is positioned at your thumb.
You can hold the clipper in your hand and
adjust the lever at the same time... while
you’re clipping.
This taper lever eliminates the need in some
situations for a comb attachment because it
lets you gradually adjust the closeness of the
cut. For the closest cut and the shortest hair,
push taper lever up as far as it will go, to level
#1. To increase cutting length, slowly push
lever down. If you push to the lowest position,
level #5, it will leave hair about the same
length as the short comb attachment.
Because a different cutting edge is used in
each setting, the taper lever lengthens the life
of your blades.
Packed-in hair can slow down any clipper. To
remove hair without removing the blades, do
what the professionals do: Keeping the clipper
on, quickly push the taper lever back and
forth from “close” to “longer” cut a few times.
If you do this after every clipping, especially
with heavy hair cutting, the blades should
remain free of cut hair.

POWER SCREW
The power screw permits you to adjust
power to your clipper. You may need to make
this adjustment if the power in your house
is low. (The Conair
®
clipper was designed for
household use.)
1. With a screwdriver or a dime, turn the
power screw counterclockwise until the noise
stops, and then turn about 45 degrees more.

2. Then turn the screw clockwise, until the
arm strikes a coil, making a clacking noise.

GUÍA DE CONAIR PARA CORTAR
EL CABELLO EN CASA
Antes de empezar:
1. Revise el aparato. Cerciórese de que está
limpio, que funciona correctamente y que las
cuchillas están lubricadas.
2. Coloque la capa de corte alrededor del
cuello de la persona a quien le va a cortar
el cabello.
3. Siente a la persona de manera que su
cabeza esté al nivel de sus ojos, para
mayor visibilidad y control.
4. Desenrede el cabello. Sostenga la
cortadora cómodamente en su mano.
Ya está listo/a para empezar.
CORTES MEDIANOS A LARGOS
Empiece cortando poco cabello, hasta
acostumbrase a cada guía. Use la guía más
larga para empezar, y luego acorte el cabello
con guías más cortas si desea.
• Guía1 – Corta el cabello a 1/8" (3mm)
• Guía2 – Corta el cabello a 1/4
" (6mm)
• Guía3 – Corta el cabello a 3/8
" (10 mm)
• Guía 4 – Corta el cabello a 1/2
" (12.5 mm)
• Guía 5 – Corta el cabello a 5/8" (16mm)
• Guía 6 – Corta el cabello a 3/4" (19 mm)
• Guía 7 – Corta el cabello a 7/8" (22 mm)
• Guía 8 – Corta el cabello a 1" (25 mm)
Para instalar la guía,
sosténgala con
los dientes hacia
arriba, deslícela
por encima de las
cuchillas, y luego
enganche la
parte trasera.
Para quitar la guía,
jale la pata trasera
hacia arriba, según
se indica en la
ilustración.
NOTA: nunca empuje la cortadora para que
corte más rápidamente. La experiencia
profesional demuestra que funciona mejor
cuando corta a su propia velocidad.

1. Desconecte el aparato antes de
limpiarlo.
2. No coloque ni guarde este producto donde
pueda caerse o ser empujado a una bañera o
un lavabo.
3. No lo use en el baño o la ducha.
4. No coloque el aparato ni lo deje caer al
agua u otro líquido.
5. No trate de alcanzar el aparato después
de que se haya caído al agua; desconéctelo
inmediatamente. Para uso en lugares secos
solamente; no lo exponga al agua, al vapor o
a la lluvia.
6. Siempre desconecte el aparato
inmediatamente después del uso, excepto
cuando lo está cargando.
ADVERTENCIA – Para

DE MANTENIMIENTO
MANTENIMIENTO DE SU
CORTADORA DE CABELLO
ALINEACIÓN DE LAS CUCHILLAS:
Las cortadoras Conair
®
son revisadas
para asegurarse de que las cuchillas estén
perfectamente alineadas. Sin embargo,
usted necesitará alinearlas nuevamente
después de haberlas extraído para limpiarlas
o reemplazarlas, o si se desalinean a
consecuencia de un golpe. Para determinar
si las cuchillas necesitan ser alineadas de
nuevo, simplemente hágalas coincidir según
se indica a continuación (Fig.1).
Para evitar que la cortadora corte el cabello
demasiado corto o que las cuchillas tengan
contacto con la piel, asegúrese de que la
parte superior de la cuchilla grande está a
una distancia de 1/32 de pulgada (1mm)
a1/16 de pulgada (1.5mm) por encima de la
cuchilla pequeña.
Para alinear las cuchillas:
1. Desconecte el aparato y afloje ligeramente
los tornillos (Fig. 2).
PALANCA DE AJUSTE DE
LONGITUD DE CORTE
Al igual que las cortadoras profesionales,
su cortadora Conair
®
está equipada con una
palanca de ajuste de longitud de corte
que permite ajustar el largo del corte a
medida que corta el cabello.
La palanca de ajuste de longitud de corte
permite cortar el cabello más corto o más
largo, sin tener que instalar una guía. Para
conseguir el corte más apurado y el cabello
más corto, deslice la palanca hacia arriba,
hasta la posición n.°1. Para conseguir un
corte más largo, deslice la palanca hacia
abajo. El ajuste más bajo (n.° 5) dejará el
cabello tan corto como la guía más corta.
Usar el ajuste de longitud de corte prolonga
la vida útil de las cuchillas, puesto que estas
nunca utilizan el mismo filo de corte
para cortar.
Su cortadora puede perder velocidad si
hay recortes de cabello trabados en las
cuchillas. Para quitar el pelo de las cuchillas
sin tener que sacarlas, siga el ejemplo de
los profesionales: con el aparato encendido,
mueva la palanca de ajuste de longitud de
corte desde arriba hasta abajo varias veces.
Hacer esto después de cada uso,
especialmente cuando se corta mucho
cabello, mantendrá las cuchillas en
condición óptima.

2. Posicione el diente más a la izquierda de
la cuchilla grande de tal manera que cubra o
esté a la izquierda del primer diente pequeño
de la cuchilla pequeña.
3. Asegúrese de que el diente
grande más a la derecha de
la cuchilla pequeña toca el
diente más a la derecha de la
cuchilla grande.
TORNILLO REGULADOR
El tornillo regulador permite ajustar la potencia
del aparato, lo que puede ser necesario si el
suministro eléctrico en su casa es débil (la
cortadora Conair
®
ha sido diseñada para uso
doméstico).
1. Usando un destornillador o una pequeña
moneda, gire el tornillo en sentido horario hasta
que el sonido se detenga. Luego,
gire el tornillo 45 grados más. (Fig. 1)
2. Después, gire el tornillo en sentido horario
hasta que la armadura choque con la bobina,
produciendo un sonido de repiqueteo. (Fig. 2).
