Handling

below

neck

allow space

for

expansion.

Replace

gasoline

cap

and tighten

it

engine

and

equipment.

unit

to

another

area.

Wait

minutes

before

starting

the

reduce

Clean

up

oil

fuel

spillage

remove

any

fuel

Never

machine

OPERATION

Do

not put

hands

and

feet

rotating

parts

feeding

chambers

the

rotating

impeller

can

amputate

fingers,

hands,

and

feet.

Before

starting

the

machine,

make

sure

the

chipper

chute, feed

intake,

and

cutting

chamber

are

empty

and

free

of

all

debris.

Thoroughly

inspect

all

material

to

be

shredded

and

remove

any

metal,

rocks,

bottles,

cans,

or

other

foreign objects

which

could

cause

personal

injury

or

damage

to

the

machine.

If

it

becomes

necessary

to

push

material

through

the

shredder

hopper,

use

a

small

diameter

stick.

Do

not use

your

hands

or

feet.

If

the

impeller

strikes

a

foreign

object

or

if

your

machine

should

start

making

an

unusual

noise

or

vibration,

immediately

shut

the

engine

off.

Allow

the

impeller

to

come

to

a

complete

stop.

Disconnect

the

spark

plug

wire,

ground

it

against

the

engine

and

perform

the

following

steps:

a.

Inspect

for

damage.

b.

Repair

or

replace

any

damaged

parts.

c.

Check

for

any

loose

parts

and tighten

to

assure

continued

safe

operation.

Do

not

allow

an

accumulation

of

processed

material

to

build up

in

the

discharge

area.

This

can

prevent

proper

discharge

and

result

in

kickback

of

material

through

the

feed

opening.

Do

not

attempt

to

shred

or

chip

material

larger

than

specified

on

the

machine

or

in

this

manual.

Personal

injury

or

machine

damage

could

result.

Never

attempt

to

unclog

either

the

feed

intake

or

discharge

opening

while

the

engine

is

running.

Shut

the

engine

off,

wait

until

all

moving

parts

have

stopped,

disconnect

the

spark

plug

wire

and

ground

it

against

the

engine

before

clearing

debris.

Never

operate

without

the

shredder

hopper, chipper

chute,

or

chute

deflector

properly

MAINTENANCE

&

STORAGE

Never

tamper

with

safety

devices.

Check

their

proper

operation

regularly.

Check

bolts

and

screws

for

proper

tightness

at

frequent

intervals

to

keep

the

machine

in

safe

working

condition.

Also,

visually

inspect

machine

for

any

damage

and

repair,

if

needed.

Before

cleaning,

repairing,

or

inspecting,

stop

the

engine

and

make

certain

the

impeller

and

all

moving

parts

have

stopped.

Disconnect

the

spark

plug

wire

and

ground

it

against

the

engine

to

prevent

unintended

starting.

engine

governor

settings

overspeed

engine.

The

governor

controls

the

maximum

safe

operating

speed

of

the

engine.

Maintain

replace

instruction

be

built

stringent

the

United

States,

new

non-road,

spark-ignition

engines

certified

for

model

year

1997

and

later

must

meet

similar

standards

set

forth

by

the

U.S.

EPA.

Sears

must

warrant

the

emission

control

system

on

your

engine

for

the

periods

of

time

listed

below,

provided

there

has

been

no

abuse,

neglect

or

improper

maintenance

of

your

small

off-road

engine.

Your

emission

control

system

includes

parts

such

as

the

carburetor,

air

cleaner, ignition

system, muffler

and

catalytic

converter.

Also

included

may

be

connectors

and other

emission

Where

a

warrantable

condition

exists,

Sears

will

repair

your

small

off-road

engine

at

no cost

to

you

including

diagnosis,

parts

and

covered

Responsibilities

the

small

off-road

engine

owner,

you

are

responsible

for

the

performance

of

the

required

maintenance

listed

in

your

Operating

and

Maintenance

Instructions.

Sears

recommends

that

you

retain

all

your

receipts

covering

maintenance

on

your

small

off-road

engine,

but

Sears

cannot

deny

warranty

solely

for

the

lack

of

receipts

or

for

your

failure

to

ensure

the

performance

of

all

scheduled

maintenance.

As

the

small

off-road

engine owner,

you

should

however

be

aware

that

Sears

may

deny

you

coverage

disefiados,

construidos

Unidos,

los

motores

nuevos

todo

terreno

de

encendido

por

chispa

certificados

para

el

afio

1997

deben

cumplir

estandares

similares

garantizar

el

sistema

control

de

emisiones

de

su

motor

para

los

periodos

de

tiempo

enumerados

sistema
