MODELO 5622 FUNCIONES DE SEGURIDAD IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS OPERATING MANUAL CONSEJOS DE SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS 1. Un Interruptor de Seguridad Basculante está incorporado para evitar el funcionamiento si el Calentador se cae. 2. Se incorpora un protector contra sobrecargas térmicas para impedir el sobrecalentamiento. 3. Si su Calentador apaga inesperadamente o falla de operar, uno de las características ya mencionadas de seguridad se puede haber activado para prevenir recalentar. 1. Never leave children unattended when the heater is on or plugged in. • The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug that must be inserted into a matching receptacle. Under no circumstances must the grounding prong be cut off the plug. Where a two-prong wall receptacle is encountered, it must be replaced with a properly grounded three-prong receptacle installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes and ordinances. This work must be done only by a qualified electrician, using copper wire only. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. • DO NOT use the Heater in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored. DO NOT use Heater in locations where flammable or explosive chemicals are stored, or in wet atmospheres. • Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the Heater malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. To disconnect Heater, turn the Heater OFF then remove the plug from the outlet. • Always unplug Heater when not in use. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the Heater. • Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock, fire, or damage the Heater. Arrange Power Cord away from room traffic and where it will not be tripped over. • This Heater is HOT when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Always use handle when moving this Heater. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the Heater and keep them at least 1 foot (0.3 m) from the sides and rear. • This Heater is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. This Heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Figura 2 CONTROL AUTOMÁTICO DE TEMPERATURA (Figura 3) 1. Cuando el botón ( ) o el botón ( ) esté presionado, la pantalla exhibirá la temperatura fijada y el símbolo ( ) aparecerá. 2. Cuando alcance la temperatura en la cual desea establecer la unidad, la temperatura fijada titilará varias veces y luego la pantalla volverá a indicar la temperatura actual y cambiará gradualmente a medida que cambia la temperatura de la habitación. NOTA: la pantalla de la temperatura no indica la temperatura del aire caliente emitido por el calentador. 3. Cuando la temperatura del aire alcance los 2° por encima de la temperatura fijada, el Calentador se apagará. 4. Cuando la temperatura del aire alcance un 1° por debajo de la temperatura fijada, el Calentador se encenderá. 5. Esta función se cancelará si el botón ( ) es oprimido. El Calentador ahora estará en calor Alta ( ). 4. ENCIENDA el Calentador oprimiendo el Botón de Encendido ( ). 5. Cuando se lo encienda por primera vez, el Calentador mostrará la temperatura actual de la habitación en ° Fahrenheit. Oprima los botones ( ) y ( ) al mismo tiempo para cambiar la pantalla a ° Celsius. Oprima los dos botones al mismo tiempo nuevamente para cambiar la pantalla y volver a ° Fahrenheit. 6. Al encender el Calentador, la unidad estará en calor ALTA ( ) (1500 vatios) y mostrará la temperatura actual de la habitación (Figura 1). 7. Para APAGAR el Calentador, presione el Botón de Encendido ( ) y desconecte el Calentador del tomacorriente eléctrico. Pantalla al ser encendido por primera vez La pantalla refleja la función de Control Automático de Temperatura Figura 1 FUNCIÓN DE TEMPORIZADOR La función de temporizador puede ser activada cuando la pantalla del Calentador está en cualquier función. (Figura 2) Esta función le permite fijar la cantidad de tiempo que el Calentador estará funcionando antes de apagarse automáticamente, de 1 hora a 8 horas. Presionar el Botón de Temporizador ( ) aumentará la cantidad de tiempo en 1 hora cada vez que dicho botón sea oprimido. Después que la pantalla refleje 8 horas, si presiona el Botón de Temporizador ( ) una vez más, se reiniciará el Calentador para función continua. El Calentador se apagará cuando el tiempo fijado haya transcurrido. La unidad puede ser encendida nuevamente presionando el Botón de Encendido ( ). Rev. No intente alterar esta característica de seguridad. • No use el Calentador en áreas donde se almacene o use gasolina, pintura o líquidos inflamables. NO use el Calentador en lugares donde sustancias químicas inflamables o explosivas, sean almacenadas, o en atmósferas húmedas. • No ponga en funcionamiento ningún Calentador con un cable eléctrico o enchufe dañados, después que un Calentador haya funcionado mal o haya sido arrojado o dañado en cualquier modo. Para desconectar el Calentador, APAGUE el Calentador y luego retire el enchufe del tomacorriente. Siempre desconecte el Calentador cuando no esté en uso. Plastic or rubber tabs, like the feet on this unit, may stick to furniture surfaces and/or hardwood floors. The unit may leave a residue that could darken, stain or leave permanent blemishes on the finish of certain furniture surfaces, including wood surfaces, and/or hardwood floors. 3. Plug the cord set into a 120 volt outlet. The Heater can not be plugged into a 220 volt outlet. Timer Function in Automatic Temperature Control Be sure that the plug fits tightly into outlet. When plugs fit loosely into receptacles, they may slip partially or completely out of the receptacle with only the slight movement of the attached cord. Receptacles in this condition may overheat and pose a serious fire hazard; if covered by a curtain or drape, the fire hazard is even greater. 4. Turn the Heater ON by pressing the ( ). 5. When initially turned on, the Heater will display the current room temperature in ° Fahrenheit. Press the ( ) and ( ) buttons at the same time to change the display to ° Celsius. Press the same two buttons together again to change the display back to ° Fahrenheit. 6. Upon turning the Heater on, the unit will display Heat ( ) (1500 Watts) and will display the current room temperature. To turn the Heater OFF, press the ( ) and unplug the Heater from the electrical outlet. Figure 2 AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL (Figure 3) 1. When the ( ) or ( ) button is pressed, the displayed temperature will begin to flash and the ( ) symbol will appear. 2. When you reach the temperature at which you want to set the unit, the set temperature will flash several times and then the display will return to indicate the current room temperature and will gradually change as the room temperature changes. NOTE: the temperature display does not indicate the temperature of the heated air being emitted by the heater. 3. When the air temperature reaches 2° above the set temperature, the Heater will shut off. 4. When the air temperature reaches 1° below the set temperature, the Heater will turn on. 5. This function will cancel if the ( ) button is pressed. The Heater will now be in continuous Heat ( ). (Figure 2) This function allows you to set the length of time the Heater will run before turning itself off, from 1 hour to 8 hours. Pressing the Timer Button ( ) will increase the length of time by 1 hour each time this button is pressed. After the display reflects 8 hours, pressing the Timer Button ( ) once more will reset the Heater to run continuously. The Heater will turn off when the set time has elapsed.
