A 12/11 1 2265QMES MODELO 2265QM GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, including the following: Read all instructions before using this Fan. 1. Make certain the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the Fan. 2. Make certain that the room is equipped with a working smoke detector. 3. Use this Fan only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons. 4. To reduce the risk of personal injury and electric shock, the Fan should not be played with or placed where small children can reach it. 5. Unplug power cord before installing, servicing, or moving the Fan. DO NOT DEPEND ON THE ON/OFF SWITCH AS THE SOLE MEANS OF DISCONNECTING POWER WHEN SERVICING OR MOVING THE FAN. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. ALWAYS TURN OFF AND UNPLUG FAN BEFORE LEAVING THE AREA. NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED WHEN THE FAN IS ON OR PLUGGED IN. 6. This Fan must NOT be used in potentially dangerous locations such as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden or wet atmospheres where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored. 7. DO NOT use Fan in or near a window. Rain may create an electrical hazard. 8. Completely assemble Fan, according to instructions, before connecting to power supply. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounded plug that must be inserted into a matching receptacle. Under no circumstances should the grounding prong be cut off the plug. Where a two-prong wall receptacle is encountered, it must be replaced with a properly grounded three-prong receptacle installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes and ordinances. This work must be done only by a qualified electrician, using copper wire only. This plug is a safety feature. It contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Discard product if the attachment plug is damaged. To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, DO NOT remove, replace, repair or tamper with the originally supplied plug. If the Fan does not function properly, it may be due to the safety device incorporated in this plug. 9. Where possible, avoid the use of extension cords because the extension cord may overheat and cause a fire. If you must use an extension cord, minimize the risk of overheating by using the shortest cord possible and ensuring that it is UL listed. NEVER use a single extension cord to operate more than one Fan. Do not plug Fan into any other cord connected device, such as a power strip, cord reel, surge protector, multiple outlet adapters or outlet-type air fresheners. The use of such devices may create a fire hazard. 10. NEVER operate any Fan with a damaged cord or plug or after the Fan malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. 11. NEVER insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the Fan. To reduce the risk of fire, DO NOT block or tamper with the Fan in any manner while it is in operation. 12. Always place the Fan on a stable, flat, level surface when operating, to avoid the chance of the Fan overturning. Locate the Power Cord so the Fan or other objects are not resting on it.Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. 13. This Fan is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. Never locate a Fan where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container. NEVER use Fan where flammable liquids are used or stored. 14. NEVER use Fan outdoors. 15. This Fan is not suitable for use in agricultural facilities including areas where livestock, poultry or other animals are confined. A 12/11 2 2265QMES ENSAMBLAJE DE LA BASE DE SOPORTE Y LA CAJA DE Control (Figuras 1 y 2) L a caja del control del ventilador debe ser montada al soporte antes de utilizar el Ventilador . 1. Cuidadosamente retire el Ventilador de la bolsa plástica y la caja. 2. Alinee los dos lados del ventilador con el soporte (Figura 1). Al presionar los botones del soporte, empújelos hasta que queden fijos en su lugar. ADVERTENCIA: Los tacos de plástico o hule, tales como las patas de esta unidad, pueden pegarse a la superficie de los muebles. La unidad podría dejar un residuo capaz de oscurecer, manchar o dejar marcas permanentes en el acabado de ciertas superficies de muebles, incluyendo superficies y pisos de madera. 3. Remover el tornillo de sujeción de la parte trasera de la caja de control del ventilador. 4. Encienda el Ventilador seleccionando la velocidad deseada con la Perilla de Encendido situada al costado del Ventilador. 0 – Apagado 3 – Alta 2 – Media 1 – Baja 10. Para ajustar el ángulo vertical, mueva el cuerpo del Ventilador hacia delante o hacia atrás hasta la posición deseada. 2. Coloque el borde trasero del pedestal en los ganchos del soporte para la pared. 3. Permita que el pedestal gire hacia abajo de modo que los pies de goma delanteros se apoyen en la pared debajo del soporte de montaje. 4. Incline la cabeza del ventilador a la posición deseada. Utilizar el paréntesis de pared como una plantilla, marca las ubicaciones de hoyo en la pared después de nivelar el paréntesis. 3. Abroche paréntesis de pared a montar superficie que utiliza 2 cierres calibrados apropiados. Taladre hoyos pilotos como sea necesario. (Vea la Figura 3). Este Ventilador NO debe ser usado en lugares potencialmente peligrosos tales como atmósferas inflamables, explosivas, cargadas de sustancias químicas o húmedas donde se usen o almacenen gasolina, pintura o líquidos inflamables. 7. NO use el Ventilador dentro de o cerca de una ventana. La lluvia podría crear un riesgo eléctrico. 8. Arme el Ventilador completamente, siguiendo las instrucciones, antes de conectarlo a la fuente de alimentación eléctrica. Este aparato tiene un enchufe polarizado (una hoja es más ancha que la otra). Para reducir el riesgo de choque eléctrico, este enchufe está diseñado para encajar en un tomacorriente polarizado en solo un sentido. Haga coincidir la hoja ancha del enchufe con la ranura ancha. Inserte completamente. Si el enchufe no encaja completamente en el tomacorriente, invierta el enchufe. Si aún así no encaja, comuníquese con un electricista calificado. Si debe usar un cable de alargue, minimice el riesgo de sobrecalentamiento usando el cable más corto posible y garantizando que esté autorizado por UL (Underwriters Laboratories). NUNCA use un solo cable de alargue para hacer funcionar a más de un Ventilador. No conecte el Ventilador a cualquier otro dispositivo conectado a un cable, como un cable de contactos múltiples, protector de sobrecargas, adaptadores de tomacorrientes múltiples o refrescantes de aire tipo tomacorriente. El uso de tales dispositivos podría crear un riesgo de incendio. 10. NUNCA ponga en funcionamiento ningún Ventilador con un cable o enchufe dañado o después que el Ventilador haya tenido fallas de funcionamiento, haya sido arrojado o dañado de cualquier manera. 11. NUNCA inserte o permita que los dedos u objetos extraños ingresen en ninguna abertura de ventilación o escape, ya que esto podría causar un choque eléctrico o incendio, o dañar el Ventilador. Para reducir el riesgo de incendio, NO bloquee ni altere el Ventilador de ninguna manera mientras esté en funcionamiento. 12. Siempre coloque el Ventilador en una superficie estable, plana y nivelada mientras esté en funcionamiento, para evitar la posibilidad de que el Ventilador se caiga. Coloque el Cable Eléctrico de modo tal que el Ventilador u otros objetos no estén apoyados sobre el mismo.No coloque el cable de corriente debajo de alfombras. No cubra el cable de corriente con tapetes, alfombras estrechas o artículos de coberturas similares. No coloque el cable de corriente debajo de muebles o artefactos. Coloque el cable de corriente lejos del tráfico de la habitación, donde las personas no se tropiecen con éste. 13. Este Ventilador no está destinado para ser usado en lugares húmedos o mojados. Nunca coloque un Ventilador donde pueda caer dentro de una tina de baño u otro recipiente de agua. NUNCA use un Ventilador donde se usen o almacenen líquidos inflamables. 14. NUNCA use el Ventilador al aire libre. 15. Este Ventilador no es adecuado para usar en instalaciones de agricultura incluyendo áreas donde se almacene ganado, aves de corral u otros animales. Por favor consulte el Articulo 547-7 (20082) del Código Eléctrico Nacional (NEC), o los códigos o normas estatales o locales aplicables con relación a los requisitos eléctricos para edificios destinados a las agricultura. ESTE VENTILADOR NO CUMPLE CON LOS REQUISITOS DEL ARTICULO 547-7 DEL NEC (2008). 16. Este Ventilador no es adecuado para usar en lugares peligrosos. Por favor consulte el Artículo 500 del Código Eléctrico Nacional (NEC), o los códigos o normas estatales o locales aplicables con relación a los requisitos eléctricos para lugares peligrosos. ESTE VENTILADOR NO CUMPLE CON LOS REQUISITOS DEL ARTICULO 500 (2008). A 12/11 6 2265QMES (Figures 1 and 2) FAN CONTROL BOX MUST BE MOUNTED TO STAND BEFORE USING FAN. Stand Button 1. Carefully remove the Fan from the plastic bag and the carton. 2. Align the two sides of the fan to the stand (Figure 1). By pressing in the stand buttons - push down until they lock in place. CAUTION: Plastic or rubber tabs, like the feet on this unit, may stick to furniture surfaces and/or hardwood floors. The unit may leave a residue that could darken, stain or leave permanent blemishes on the finish of certain furniture surfaces, including wood surfaces, and/or hardwood floors. 3. Remove the holding screw from the rear of the fan control box. 4. Make sure wire from fan control box to motor is outside the stand leg and the grill as shown. 5. Insert the holding screw from the rear of the fan through the hole in the stand leg as shown.(Figure 2) 6. Align the fan control box with the holding screw. 7. Tighten the holding screw by hand. Do not over tighten. Stand Button Figure 1 REAR VIEW FRONT VIEW 8. Plug the cord set into a 120 volt outlet. Be sure that the plug fits tightly into outlet. When plugs fit loosely into receptacles, they may slip partially or completely out of the receptacle with only the slight movement of the attached cord. Receptacles in this condition may overheat and pose a serious fire hazard; if covered by a curtain or drape, the fire hazard is even greater. 9.Turn the Fan on by selecting the desired speed with the Power Knob on the side of the Fan. 0 - Off 3 - High 2 - Medium 1 - Low 10.To adjust the vertical angle, tilt the Fan body forward or backward to the desired position. Figure 2 5/16” Lag Screw X 2” Long (minimum) QUICKMOUNT® SYSTEM Your fan may be wall mounted using the new QuickMount ®wall bracket supplied with your fan. (Figures 3 and 4) Figure 3 WALL BRACKET MOUNTING 1. Choose a mounting location which will allow installation of hardware (not supplied) directly into wall studs or adequate structural support. 2. Using the wall bracket as a template, mark the hole locations on the wall after leveling the bracket. 3. Fasten wall bracket to mounting surface using 2 appropriately sized fasteners. Drill pilot holes as necessary. (See Figure 3). CAUTION: Check for electrical and/or gas lines before installing the wall bracket. HANGING FAN ON WALL BRACKET 1. Hold fan in an upright position, just as it would sit on the floor. 2. Place back edge of stand in wall bracket hooks. 3. Slowly allow the stand to rotate downward so that rubber feet at front rest against the wall below the mounting bracket. 4. Tilt head of fan to desired angle. Rev. A 12/11 Figure 4 3 2265QMES
