BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using this appliance, follow basic precautions, including the
following.
• Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described
in this owner’s Manual.
•
Before use, the washer must be properly installed as
described in this manual.
•
Do not wash articles that have been previously cleaned in,
washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gasoline, dry cleaning
solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances,
as
they give off vapors that could ignite or explode.
•
Do not add gasoline, dry cleaning solvents, or other
flammable or explosive substances to the wash water.
These substances give off vapors that could ignite or
explode.
• Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced
in a hot water system that has not been used for 2 weeks
or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE.
If the hot water
system has not been used for such a period, before using
the washer, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water
flow from each for several minutes.
This will release any
accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable,
do not
smoke or use an open flame during this time.
•
Do not allow children to play on or in the washer. Close
supervision of children is necessary when the washer is
used near children.
•
Before the washer is removed from service or discarded,
remove the lid to prevent children from climbing inside.
•
Do not install or store the washer where it will be exposed
to the weather or freezing temperatures.
•
Do not tamper with controls.
•
Keep the area underneath and around your appliances free
of combustible materials (lint, paper, rags, etc.), gasoline,
chemicals and other flammable vapors and liquids.
•
Do not repair or replace any part of the washer or attempt
any servicing other than as described in this manual.
We
strongly recommend that any service be performed by a
qualified technician.
•
See Installation Instructions for grounding requirements.
•
ALWAYS follow the fabric care instructions supplied by the
garment manufacturer.
•
Do not place items exposed to cooking oil in your washer.
Items contaminated with cooking oils may contribute to a
chemical reaction that could cause a load to catch fire.
•
Use fabric softeners or products to eliminate static only as
recommended by the manufacturer.
• This washer is not designed for maritime use or for mobile
installations such as in RVs, aircraft, etc.
•
Turn off the water faucets and unplug the washer if the
machine is to be left for an extended period of time, such as
during vacations.
•
Do not use to dry articles containing foam rubber or
similarly textured rubber-like materials.
• Packaging material can be dangerous for children. There is a
risk of suffocation!
Keep all packaging from children.
•
Always check the inside of the washer for foreign objects
before loading laundry. Keep the lid closed when not in use.
•
Do not reach into the appliance if the tub or agitator is
moving.
•

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by

INVERTER DIRECT-DRIVE MOTOR
The inverter direct drive motor, which is directly attached to the drum, is capable of producing multiple distinct different motions
for optimal washing performance with very little noise and vibration. The motor assembly also contains fewer moving parts,
thus resulting in fewer repairs.
SMARTDIAGNOSIS™
Should you experience any technical difficulty with your washing machine, it has the capability of transmitting data by phone to
the Customer Information Center. The call center agent records the data transmitted from your machine and uses it to analyze
the issue, providing a fast and effective diagnosis (Refer to page 35).
TUB CLEAN
Regular cleaning of the tub on a monthly basis using TUB CLEAN will keep the tub clean and fresh.
CHILD LOCK
Use this option to disable the controls during a wash cycle. This option can prevent children from changing cycles or operating
the machine.
SMARTRINSE™ WITH JET SPRAY
This washer is designed to save rinse water by using the SMARTRINSE™ with jet spray in COTTON/NORMAL and HEAVY
DUTY cycles.
FULL STAINLESS STEEL DRUM
The Full stainless steel drum offers extreme durability.

POWER ON/OFF BUTTON
- Press to turn the washer ON. Press again to turn the washer OFF.
NOTE:
If the washer remains idle for 4 minutes after turning the washer off, the water in the tub will
drain. ‘dr’ will appear on the display. You may restart the washer at this time. However, once
the washer initiates draining, all functions will be suspended, and ‘dr’ will be displayed until
draining is complete.
y
CYCLE SELECTOR BUTTON
- Press the Cycle Button repeatedly until the desired cycle is selected. Once the desired cycle has
been selected, the standard presets will be shown in the display. These settings can be adjusted
using the cycle setting buttons before starting the cycle.
y
START/PAUSE BUTTON
- Press this button to START the selected cycle.
If the washer is running, use this button to PAUSE the cycle without losing the current settings.
NOTE:
If you do not press the START/PAUSE button within 5 minutes of selecting a cycle, the
washer automatically turns off.
NOTE:
If the washer remains idle for 9 minutes after pausing the cycle, the water in the tub will
drain.

CYCLE MODIFIER BUTTONS
- Use these buttons to select the desired cycle options for the selected cycle. Press the button for
that setting until the indicator light for the desired value is lit.

OPTION BUTTONS
- The option buttons allow you to select additional cycle options and will light when selected. Certain

ESTIMATED TIME REMAINING
- When the START/PAUSE button is pressed, the washer automatically detects the wash load
(weight) and optimizes the washing time based on the selected cycle and options. The display will
then indicate the estimated time remaining for the selected wash cycle.

- This portion of the display shows which stage of the wash cycle is currently underway

Checking and choosing the proper
location
Install the washing machine on a solid floor that is strong and
rigid enough to support the weight of the washing machine,
even when fully loaded, without flexing or bouncing. If the
floor has too much flex, you may need to reinforce it to make
it more rigid. If the floor is not solid, it may cause severe
vibration and noise.

- Make sure to select solid and smooth ground.

Allow for sufficient space between the walls and the
washing machine for installation.

NOTE

Before installing the washer, make sure the floor is
clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, water and oils so the
washer feet cannot slide easily. Leveling feet that can
move or slide on the floor can contribute to excess
vibration and noise due to poor contact with the floor.

Unpacking the washer
1
After the washer is in the home, remove the carton and
Styrofoam® shipping base from the washer.
When removing the washer from the carton base, be sure
to remove the tub support in the middle of the carton base.
If you must lay the washer down to remove the base
packaging materials, always protect the side of the washer
and lay it carefully on its side. Do NOT lay the washer on its
front or back.

Remove the packing block containing the owner’s
manual, parts and laundry product samples.

Unfasten the power cord from the back of the
washer.

Connecting the water lines
1
Check the rubber seals on both sides of the hose.
- Insert a rubber seal into the threaded fittings on each
hose to prevent leaking.

Do not reuse old hoses.
Only use new hoses when
you install the washing machine. Old hoses could leak
or burst causing flooding and property damage.

Connect the water supply hoses to the HOT and COLD
water faucets tightly by hand and then tighten another
2/3 turn with pliers.
- Connect the blue hose to a cold water faucet and the
red hose to a hot water faucet.

Do not overtighten.
Damage to the coupling can result.

After connecting inlet hose to water faucets, turn on the
water faucets to flush out foreign substances (dirt, sand
or sawdust) in the water lines. Let water drain into a
bucket, and check the water temperature.

Connect the hoses to the water inlets tightly by hand and
then tighten another 2/3 turn with pliers.
- Connect the blue hose to the cold water inlet and the
red hose to the hot water inlet.

Do not overtighten the hoses.
Overtightening can
damage the valves resulting in leaking and property
damage.

Check for leaks by turning on the faucets.
- If water leaks, check steps 1 to 4 again.
NOTE
y
Periodically check the hoses for cracks, leaks and wear,
and replace the hoses every 5 years.
y
When moving or installing the machine do not stretch,
crush of kink the hoses.
y
Water supply pressure must be between 14.5 PSI and
116 PSI (100~800 kPa). If the water supply pressure is
more than 116 PSI, a pressure reducing valve must be
installed.
y
To provide optimum washing performance the hot
water temperature should be set at 120-135°F (48-57°C)
and the cold at 60°F (15°C).

Connecting the drain line
Secure the drain hose to the drain to prevent moving and
leaking.
NOTE
y
The drain hose should be properly secured. Failure to
properly secure the drain hose can result in flooding
and malfunction.
y
Total height of the house end should not exceed 96
inches (244.8 cm) from the bottom of the washer.
y
The drain must be installed in accordance with any
applicable local codes and regulations.
y
Make sure that drain hose is not stretched, pinched,
crushed, or kinked.

gently to make sure that the washing machine does not

Using the washing machine without leveling, may
result in malfunction caused by the production of
excess vibration and noise.

Only use the leveling feet to level the machine.
If you
raise the leveling feet unnecessarily, it may cause
abnormal vibration of the washing machine.
Leveling the Washing machine
The washer spins at very high speeds, up to 1,100 RPM.
NOTE
y
Adjust the leveling feet only as far as necessary to
level the washer. Extending the leveling feet more than
necessary can cause the washer to vibrate.
y
All four leveling feet must rest solidly on the floor. Rock
the washer gently from corner to corner to make sure
that the washer does not rock.
y
Before installing the washer, make sure the floor is
clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, water and oils so the
washer feet cannot slide easily. Leveling feet that can
move or side on the floor can contribute to excess
vibration and noise due to poor contact with the floor.

Position the washer in the final location,
taking special care to not pinch, strain, or crush the water
and drain lines. Place a level across the top of the washer.

Adjust the leveling feet. Turn clockwise to raise the
washer or counterclockwise to lower it.

To make sure that the washer is properly level, open
the lid and look from above to see if it is same as shown
below. If you have a level, check your washer with the
level.
• To check if the washer is level side to side, close the lid
and place a level at the back of the lid.
• To check if the washer is level front to back, place a level at
the side of the washer on the edge where the cabinet side
meets the top cover.

Plugging in the power cord and
grounding
Make sure to ground the washing machine to prevent a short
circuit or an electric shock when plugging in.
Using a 3-prong outlet
Plug in the electrical outlet without additional grounding.

The power outlet must be within 60 inches (1.5 m) of either
side of the washer.

The appliance and outlet must be positioned so that the plug
is easily accessible.

Do not overload the outlet with more than one appliance.

The outlet must be grounded in accordance with current

Testing the washing machine
Check if the washing machine is properly installed and run a
test cycle.

CAUTION
y Do not wash or spin any item labeled or known to be water-
proof or water-resistant, even if the product care label on
the item permits machine washing. Failure to follow these
instructions could result in bodily injury, severe damage to
your laundry, your washer and/or property damage as a result
of abnormal vibration of the washer.
- Examples of water-proof or water-resistant items include
certain mattress pads, mattress covers, rain gear, camping
gear, skiing apparel , outdoor gear and similar items.
u Check all pockets to make sure that they are empty.
-Items such as clips, matches, pens, coins, and keys can damage
both your washer and your clothes.
u Close zippers, hooks, and drawstrings to prevent these items
from snagging or tangling on other clothes.
u Pretreat heavily stained areas before washing.
- Doing so will produce clean, stain-free results.
u Combine large and small items in a load. Load large items first.
u Large items should not be more than half of the total washload.
u The washer can be fully loaded, but the drum should not be
tightly packed with items.
u Do not wash single items, except for bulky items such as
blankets. Make sure to wash laundry in similar types of loads.
- Washing a single small item may result in the tub becoming
unbalanced, vibrating and making a noise.
u Brush heavy soil, dust, or hair off fabrics before washing.
- Laundry may not wash clean if there is dirt or sand on the
fabrics, or they may damage due to particles rubbing against
sheer fabrics.
u Wash blankets individually.
- Washing more than one blanket together may produce unclean
results due to tangling or an unbalanced load.
u Always separate fabrics according to their colors and wash them
separately to prevent colors from running.
- Fabrics may damage or become stained due to fabric dyes
running, or due to foreign objects transferring from one fabric to
another.

This compartment holds laundry detergent for the main wash
cycle, which is added to the load at the beginning of the
cycle. Always use HE (High-Efficiency) detergent with your

Never exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations when

in detergent buildup in clothing and the washer. Either
powdered or liquid detergent may be used.

Liquid or powdered color-safe bleach may be added
to the main wash compartment with detergent of the
same type.

When using liquid detergent, make sure the liquid
detergent cup and insert are in place. Do not exceed
the maximum fill line.

When using powdered detergent, remove the insert

Powdered detergent will not dispense with the liquid
detergent cup and insert in place.
Fabric Softener Compartment
This compartment holds liquid fabric softener, which will be
automatically dispensed during the final rinse cycle.
NOTE

Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations
when adding fabric softener. Do not exceed the
maximum fill line. Using too much fabric softener may
result in stained clothes.
y
Dilute concentrated fabric softeners with warm water.
Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
y
Never pour fabric softener directly onto the load or into
the drum.

PREPARATION
Liquid Bleach Compartment
This compartment holds liquid chlorine bleach, which will be
dispensed automatically at the proper time during the wash
cycle. Avoid overfilling or splashing when adding bleach
to the dispenser. The maximum capacity of the bleach
dispenser is one cup of bleach per wash cycle. Overfilling
could result in premature dispensing of bleach, which will
result in fabric damage.
NOTE
y
Do not add powdered or liquid color-safe bleach to this
compartment.
y
Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations
when adding bleach. Do not exceed the maximum fill
line. Using too much bleach can damage fabrics.
y
Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach directly onto
the load or into the drum. Fabric damage can occur.
Loading the dispenser
The detergent dispenser drawer of the washing machine has
a dispenser compartment for each detergent type. Add the
appropriate detergents into its respective compartments.

Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer.

Add the appropriate detergent to its allocated
compartment.
- If you use a liquid detergent, check if the liquid
detergent cup is in place.
- If you use a powdered detergent, remove the liquid
detergent cup and put the powder in the main wash
detergent compartment.

Close the detergent dispenser drawer slowly.
- Slamming the detergent dispenser drawer may result in
the detergent overflowing into another compartment or
pouring into the tub earlier than programmed.
NOTE
y
It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in
the dispenser compartments at the end of the cycle.

Special drain feature
This washer is equipped with a special feature that is
designed to make your washer as safe as possible. If the
washer is paused or shut off while there is still water in
the tub, the water will automatically drain. This helps keep
children safe by reducing the possibility of water remaining
in the tub. The washer can be restarted any time before the
drain begins.
If no action is taken for four minutes after the control shuts
off, the error code will display and the water will drain
from the tub. Once the washer begins draining the water,
the controls are disabled and the drain process cannot be
interrupted. Once the water is completely drained, the
washer will shut off.
NOTE
y
In the unlikely event that the washer experiences
a problem that causes an error code to display, the
washer will still drain after four minutes. However, only
the original error code will be displayed.
Main cycle
You can wash laundry items more thoroughly by selecting
the wash cycle that best suits the type of items to be
washed. Press the desired cycle button. When you select a
wash cycle, the light for the corresponding wash cycle will
turn on. See page 21,

Cycle setting buttons
Each cycle has preset settings that are selected
automatically. You may also customize the settings using
the cycle setting buttons. Press the button for that option to
view and select other settings.
The washer automatically adjusts the water level for the
type and size of wash load for best results and maximum
efficiency. It may seem there is no water inside the drum in
some cycles, but this is normal.
NOTE

To protect your garments, not every wash temperature,
spin speed, soil level, or option is available with every
cycle. See the Cycle Guide for details.
Setting options before cycle
You can select and add the desired optional functions before
you start the washing machine.
Setting the water temperature, WASH TEMP.

appropriate temperature, as specified in the fabric care label.

Setting RINSE + SPIN, RINSE + SPIN
Select this option to rinse and spin a load separately from a
regular cycle. This can be helpful in preventing fresh stains
from setting in fabrics. You can change spin speed by
pressing SPIN SPEED repeatedly until the desired speed is
selected.

Setting fabric softener of laundry, FABRIC
SOFTENER
Fabric softener is dispensed in the final rinse.
This washer is designed to save rinse water by
using a jet spray rinse system (SMARTRINSE) in
COTTON/NORMAL and HEAVY DUTY cycles.
Press the FABRIC SOFTENER button to change
the final rinse from spray rinse to regular rinse so
that the fabric softener is most effective.
NOTE
y
The COTTON/NORMAL cycle and the HEVY DUTY
cycle use SMARTRINE to save water. If liquid fabric
softener is to be used with either of these cycles, then
the FABRIC SOFTENER option or the EXTRA RINSE
option must be selected. Either option will cause the
cycle to end with a regular rinse instead of the spray
rinse used by SMARTRINSE. Although the softener will
still be dispensed without selecting FABRIC SOFTENER
or EXTRA RINSE during a spray rinse, failure to
select either option will result in poor fabric softener
performance.
Presetting the start time, DELAY WASH
You can set the desired start time.

Press and hold for 3 seconds during the wash cycle.

panel of the washing machine.
To disable child lock
(When the CHILD LOCK is activated.)

Once the controls are locked, they must be manually
unlocked to restore operation.
Setting add garments of laundry, ADD
GARMENTS
Laundry may be added to the load at the proper time in the
wash cycle.
When the ADD GARMENTS light is illuminated, it is safe to
pause the cycle and add more items to the load.If garments
are added when the ADD GARMENTS light is off, the washer
will not adjust for these items which could result in poor
performance or fabric damage.
To add garments while the ADD GARMENTS light is on:
1 Press button to pause the washer.
2 Open the lid when it unlocks
3 Add your additional items.
4 Close the lid.
5 Press button to resume the wash cycle.
NOTE
y
If the washer remains idle for 8 minutes after pausing
the cycle, the water in the tub will drain.

Use of Fold Down Handle
The top of the lid can be folded down if desired.

Slide the latches toward the center to unlock and fold
down the handle.

To lock the handle back in place, fold the handle back
up and slide the latches away from the center until you
hear them click.

Using the unlocked handle unexpectedly can result in
minor injury. Make sure the handle is locked after use.

Care
Cleaning the Water Inlet Filters
If the washer detects that water is not entering the
dispenser, an error message will show on the display. If
you live in an area with hard water, this may be caused by
clogged inlet filters.
NOTE
y
Use extreme care when removing and cleaning the
filters. If the filters cannot be cleaned or are damaged,
do NOT operate the washer without the inlet filters.
Contact LG Customer Service or a qualified LG servicer.

Turn off both water taps completely. Unscrew the hot and
cold water lines from the back of the washer.

Carefully remove the filters from the water inlets, and
soak them in white vinegar or a lime scale remover. Rinse
thoroughly before reinstalling. Press the filters back into
place and reattach the water lines. Do NOT operate the
washer without the inlet filters.
Inlet Filter

Unplug the power cord and turn off the faucets before
cleaning.
Failure to do so may cause electric shock.

Do not use the washing machine without the inlet
filters.
If you use the washing machine without the
inlet filters it will cause leaks and malfunction.

If you use the washing machine in an area with hard
water, the inlet filter may clog due to lime buildup.
Contact your nearest LG customer service center if the
inlet filter is not clean or is missing.

Turn off the faucets connected with the water lines.

Pour hot water on the frozen faucets to thaw the water
lines and pull them out.

Immerse the water lines in hot water to thaw them.

Cleaning the detergent box
Leaving detergent in the detergent for an extended period of
time or using the washing machine for a long period of time
may cause the build-up of scales in the detergent. Pull out
and clean the detergent once a week.

Remove the drawer by pulling it straight out until it stops.
Lift up on the front of the drawer and pull it out.

Remove the inserts from the 2 compartments; rinse the
inserts and the drawer with warm water to remove traces
of accumulated laundry products.

To clean the drawer opening, use a small, non-metal
brush to clean the recess. Remove all residues from the
upper and lower parts of the recess.

Return the inserts to the proper compartments and
replace the drawer.

Periodically clean the washing machine to maintain its
performance and to prevent malfunction.
Clean the drum, TUB CLEAN
Using the washing machine in a humid space for a long
period of time may lead to a buildup of black mold and germs
in the air inside the washer tub and affect your health. If you
clean the washer tub regularly on a monthly basis using TUB
CLEAN it will keep the washer tub clean for hygienic use.

Add tub cleaner or lime scale remover into the detergent
dispenser drawer.
- Do not exceed the maximum detergent limit line when
you add it. Detergent may remain in the washer tub
after cleaning.

When you use liquid chlorine bleach,
load it into the

Normal sounds you may hear
The following sounds may be heard while the washer is operating. They are normal.
Clicking:
• Lid lock relay when the lid locks and unlocks.
• The washer will make a series of clicking noises as it changes the cleaning mode.
High pitched noise:
The wash basket spins faster to remove moisture from the load.
Spraying or hissing:
Water spraying or circulating during the cycle.
Humming or gurgling:
Drain pump pumping water from the washer at the end of a cycle.
Water sloshing sound:
A liquid in the balance ring around the wash basket helps the basket spin smoothly.
(Washer is turned off and tub is rotated.)
Sound of water being added after the washer has already been operating:
• The washer adapts to the load size and type to add more water to the cycle as needed.
• The wash load may be unbalanced. If the washer senses that the load is unbalanced, it will stop and refill to redistribute the
load.
• The washer may be diluting laundry additives to add to the wash load.
Before calling for service
Your washing machine is equipped with an automatic error-monitoring system to detect and diagnose problems at an early stage.
If your washer does not function properly or does not function at all, check the following before you call for service.

- Only use this feature when instructed to do so by the call center. The transmission sounds similar to a fax machine, and so has
no meaning except to the call center.
- SMARTDIAGNOSIS™ cannot be activated if the washer does not power up. If this happens, then troubleshooting must be done
without SMARTDIAGNOSIS™.
If you experience problems with your washer, call 1-800-243-0000 (1-888-542-2623 in Canada). Follow the call center agent’s
instructions, and perform the following steps when requested:
1. Press the to turn on the washer. Do not press any other buttons.
2. When instructed to do so by the call center, place the mouthpiece of your phone very close to the POWER button.
3. Press and hold
for three seconds, while holding the phone mouthpiece to the icon or POWER button.
4.
Keep the phone in place until the tone transmission has finished. This takes about 6 seconds, and the display will count down
the time.
• For best results, do not move the phone while the tones are being transmitted and do not touch the console with the phone.
• If the call center agent is not able to get an accurate recording of the data, you may be asked to try again.
• Pressing the POWER button during the transmission will shut off the SMARTDIAGNOSIS™.
5. Once the countdown is over and the tones have stopped, resume your conversation with the call center agent, who will then be

utilizar la lavadora, abra todas las llaves de agua caliente y deje que
el agua fluya durante algunos minutos.

INSTRUCCIONES PARA LA CONEXIÓN A TIERRA
Este aparato debe ser conectado a tierra. En el caso de descompostura o mal funcionamiento, la conexion a tierra reduce el
riesgo de recibir una descarga electrica al proveer una via de menor resistencia a la corriente electrica. Este aparato esta equipado
con un cable que tiene un conductor de equipo a tierra y una clavija de tierra. La clavija debe ser conectada en una toma de
corriente adecuada que este apropiadamente instalada y conectada a tierra de acuerdo con los codigos y ordenanzas locales.
ADVERTENCIA
Una conexion inapropiada del conductor de equipo a tierra puede resultar en riesgo de recibir una descarga electrica. Verifique con

• Bajo ninguna circunstancia deberá cortar o eliminar la tercera punta
(de toma a tierra) del cable de alimentación.
Si no se cumple con esta

electricas, o muerte.
• Para su seguridad personal, este electrodomestico debe estar
adecuadamente conectado a tierra.
Si no se cumple con esta

• El cable de corriente de este electrodomestico contiene un enchufe de

• No instale la lavadora sobre una alfombra. Instale la lavadora sobre un
piso sólido.
El incumplimiento de esta advertencia puede causar daños
provocados por fuga de agua.
• No elimine el cable de conexion a tierra. No use un adaptador o cable
de extensión. Conecte la lavadora en un tomacorriente con conexion
a tierra de 3 cables.
Si no se cumple con esta advertencia se podran
producir heridas graves, incendios, descargas electricas, o muerte.
• La lavadora deberá estar siempre conectada a un enchufe individual
con un indice de voltaje equivalente al que figura en su etiqueta de
caracteristicas tecnicas.
Esto garantiza el mejor funcionamiento y
ademas previene la sobrecarga de los circuitos del hogar, lo cual podria
ocasionar riesgos de incendio debido al recalentamiento de cables.
• Nunca desenchufe su lavadora tirando del cable de corriente. Siempre
tome el enchufe firmemente y jale el mismo hacia fuera para retirarlo.

• Repare o reemplace de inmediato todos los cables de corriente pelados

trasladar el electrodomestico.

bajo cero o a condiciones climáticas en áreas exteriores.

controles en la posicion OFF (apagado) no desconecta el
electrodomestico de la toma de corriente.

El motor inverter direct drive, montado en el tambor, puede producir diferentes movimientos para lograr unos resultados de
lavado óptimos, con muy poco ruido y vibraciones. El conjunto del motor también contiene menos partes en movimiento, lo que
supone menos reparaciones.
SMARTDIAGNOSIS™
Si experimenta alguna dificultad técnica con su lavadora, éste tiene la capacidad de transmitir información por teléfono al Centro
de Atención al Cliente. El agente de servicio al cliente guarda la información transmitida de su máquina y la utiliza para analizar el

La limpieza regular del tambor, una vez al mes, con TUB CLEAN mantendrá el tambor limpio y fresco.

Use esta opción para desactivar los controles durante un ciclo de lavado.Esta opción evita que los niños puedan cambiar los
ciclos o el funcionamiento de la máquina.

BOTÓN DE ENCENDIDO/APAGADO
- Pulse para encender la lavadora. Pulse de nuevo para apagarla.
NOTA:
Si la arandela permanece inactiva durante 4 minutos tras apagar la lavadora, el agua del
tambor se drenará.
NOTA:
Sonará una alarma 1 minuto antes del vaciado de agua y aparecerá “dr” en la pantalla. Puede
reiniciar la lavadora en este momento. Sin embargo, una vez que la lavadora haya iniciado el
vaciado de agua, todas las funciones se suspenderán y se mostrará “dr” hasta que el vaciado
de agua haya terminado.

el ciclo, la lavadora se apagara automaticamente.
NOTA:
Si la lavadora permanece inactiva durante 8 minutos después de la pausa del ciclo, el tambor

Comprobación y elección de la ubicación
adecuada
Instale la lavadora sobre un suelo con la resistencia y rigidez
suficiente para soportar el peso de la máquina, incluso con
la carga completa, sin que se flexione o rebote. Si el suelo
tiene una flexibilidad excesiva, quizás deba reforzarse para
hacerla más rígida. Si el suelo no es resistente, puede causar
vibraciones y ruidos intensos.

Desembalaje de la lavadora

Cuando reciba la lavadora en su casa, retire la base
de cartón y poliestireno utilizada para el envío del
electrodoméstico.
Al retirar la lavadora de la caja de cartón, asegúrese de retirar
el Soporte de base del medio de la base de cartón.
Si debe asentar la lavadora hacia abajo para quitar los
materiales de embalaje de la base, siempre proteja el lado
de la lavadora y deposítela con cuidado sobre su lado. NO
asiente la lavadora sobre su parte frontal o posterior.

Conecte las tuberias de agua a las llaves de paso de agua
caliente y fria y apriete las conexiones con la mano. A
continuacion, utilice unos alicates para apretarlas otro 2/3
de vuelta.
- Conecte la manguera azul a un grifo de agua fría y la
manguera roja a un grifo de agua caliente.

mano a continuación, utilice unos alicates para apretarlas
otro 2/3 de vuelta.

temperatura de su agua caliente debe ser entre 120-
135˚F (48-57˚C) y el de su agua fría debe ser 60˚F(15˚C).

Nivelado de la lavadora
La lavadora centrifuga a velocidades muy elevadas, de hasta
1000 rpm.
NOTA

Ajuste el pie de nivelación sólo si es preciso para nivelar
la lavadora. La lavadora puede vibrar si extiende el pie
de nivelación más de lo necesario.
y
Los cuatro pies de nivelación deben apoyarse con
firmeza en el suelo. Balancee la lavadora con cuidado
apoyándose en un lado y otro, para comprobar si está
debidamente equilibrada.
y
Antes de instalar la lavadora, asegúrese de que el
suelo está limpio, seco y sin polvo, suciedad, agua o
restos de aceite para evitar que el pie de apoyo de la
lavadora se deslice fácilmente. Si el pie de nivelación
se mueve o desliza por el suelo contribuirá a que haya
más vibración y ruido debido a la falta de contacto con
el suelo.

cuidado de no pinzar, forzar o aplastar las líneas de agua

Clasificación de las cargas de lavado
Precauciones para el cuidado de los tejidos antes del ciclo de lavado
Lea y cumpla con las siguientes instrucciones para evitar que la ropa se encoja o se dañe.

No lave o seque por centrifugado ningún artículo
etiquetado o que se sabe que es a prueba de agua o
resistente al agua, aún cuando la etiqueta de cuidados
del producto permita usar lavadora.
El no seguir estas instrucciones puede resultar en lesiones
corporal, daño severo para sus prendas, su lavadora y/o
propiedad como resultado de la vibración anormal de la lavadora.
- Ejemplos de artículos a prueba de agua o resistente al agua
incluyen ciertos tapetes para colchón, fundas para colchones,
equipo para la lluvia, equipo para acampar, ropa para esquiar,
equipo para exteriores y artículos similares.
u Revise todos los bolsillos para asegurarse de que esten vacios.
- Articulos como clips, cerillos, plumas, monedas y llaves

ropa voluminosa, como mantas o similares. Asegúrese de
lavar la ropa en tipos similares de cargas.
- Si lava una sola prenda, puede desequilibrarse el tambor
y se producirán vibraciones y ruidos.
u Cepille la suciedad, polvo o cabello de los tejidos antes del lavado.
- La ropa no quedará limpia si hay suciedad o arena en
los tejidos, o podría dañarse debido al frotamiento de
las partículas contra tejidos delicados.
u Lave las mantas individualmente.
- Si lava más de una manta junta puede resultar en
mantas no limpias si las mantas se enredan o si se
desequilibra la carga.
u Separe las prendas por colores y lávelas por separado para
evitar que se corran los colores.
- Los tejidos pueden dañarse o quedar manchadas debido
al teñido de los colores o por objetos extraños que se
transfieren de un tejido a otro.

de detergente, siguiendo las instrucciones en la etiqueta del
empaque del detergente.

Cuando utilice detergente líquido, asegúrese de que la
cajita e inserto se encuentren colocados en su sitio. No
exceda la linea de llenado máximo.

Cuando utilice detergente en polvo, quite el inserto y la
cajita de detergente liquido del compartimiento.

Un llenado excesivo puede causar una dosificación prematura
de la lejía, y dañar los tejidos.

color liquido o en polvo a este compartimiento.

Siga siempre las recomendaciones del fabricante
cuando agregue blanqueador. No exceda la linea de

El cajón dispensador de detergente de la lavadora tiene un

TUB CLEAN
Utilice este ciclo cuando quiera limpiar la tina de su lavadora.
Función De Drenaje Especial
Esta lavadora está equipada con una función especial
diseñada para que su lavadora sea lo más segura posible. Si
la lavadora se detiene o se apaga cuando todavía hay agua
en la tina, el agua drenará automáticamente. Esto ayuda
a proteger a los niños ya que reduce la posibilidad de que
quede agua en la tina. Si la lavadora está apagada por tres
minutos, mientras aún hay agua en la tina, sonará una alarma
para notificarle que está a punto de drenar el agua de la tina.
La lavadora se puede reiniciar en cualquier momento antes
de que comience a drenar. Si la lavadora está en pausa
durante cuatro minutos, la pantalla se apagará y se perderán
todos los ajustes del ciclo. Tres minutos después de que
se apague el control, sonará la alarma para notificarle que la
lavadora está a punto de drenar el agua de la tina. Se puede
prender la lavadora e iniciar otro ciclo antes de que comience
el drenaje.
Si no se registra actividad por cuatro minutos luego de que el
control se apaga, aparecerá un código de error y el agua se
drenará de la tina. En cuanto la lavadora comience el proceso
de drenaje, se deshabilitarán los controles y no se podrá
interrumpir el proceso de drenaje. Cuando se haya drenado
completamente el agua, la lavadora se apagará.

En el improbable supuesto de que la lavadora
experimente un problema que ocasione que se
muestre un código de error, la lavadora aún drenará
luego de cuatro minutos. Sin embargo, sólo se
mostrara el código de error original.

Botones de ajuste de ciclo
Cada ciclo tiene ajustes preprogramables que se seleccionan
automaticamente. Tambien puede personalizar los ajustes utilizando
los botones de programacion de ciclos. Apriete el boton para ver
esa opcion y seleccionar otros ajustes.
La lavadora ajusta automaticamente el nivel de agua segun el
tipo y tamano de la carga de lavado para proporcionar los mejores
resultados y eficiencia maxima. Puede parecer que no hay agua
dentro del tambor en algunos ciclos, pero esto es normal.

Para proteger sus prendas de vestir, no todas las
temperaturas de lavado, velocidades de centrifugado,

Ajuste de RINSE + SPIN, RINSE + SPIN
Utilice este ciclo para obtener un enjuague intenso seguido
de un centrifugado a alta velocidad. Puede cambiar la
velocidad del centrifugado pulsando los boton SPIN SPEED.

Ajuste del suavizante de la colada,
FABRIC SOFTENER
El suavizante se distribuye en el enjuague final.
Esta lavadora está diseñada para ahorrar agua
en el enjuague mediante el uso de un sistema
de enjuague con rociado a chorro en los ciclos
COTTON/NORMAL y HEAVY DUTY. Presione
el botón FABRIC SOFTENER para cambiar
el enjuague final de enjuague con rociado al
enjuague normal para que el suavizante sea más
eficaz.
NOTA
y
Los ciclos COTTON/NORMAL y HEAVY DUTY
usan SMARTRINSE para ahorrar agua. Si se va a
usar suavizante en alguno de estos ciclos, se debe
seleccionar la opción FABRIC SOFTENER o EXTRA
RINSE. Ambas opciones harán que el ciclo finalice
con un enjuague normal en lugar del enjuague con
rociado que usa SMARTRINSE. Si bien el suavizante
también se distribuirá aunque no se seleccione FABRIC
SOFTENER o EXTRA RINSE durante el enjuague con
rociado, el resultado de no seleccionar una de estas
opciones será el pobre rendimiento del suavizante.

Los productos se añaden a la carga en el
momento adecuado durante el ciclo de lavado
Cuando se ilumina el indicador ADD GARMENTS
(Añadir ropa), se puede hacer una pausa en el ciclo y añadir
más prendas. Si se añaden prendas con el indicador ADD
GARMENTS apagado, la lavadora no se ajustará para estas
prendas y puede reducirse el rendimiento de lavado o
dañarse los tejidos.
Para añadir ropa con el indicador ADD GARMENTS iluminado:

Limpieza de los filtros de entrada de agua
Si la lavadora detecta que el agua no está entrando en el
dispensador, un mensaje de error se mostrará en la pantalla.
Si usted vive en una zona con agua dura, esto puede ser
causado por filtros de entrada obstruida.

Tenga sumo cuidado al retirar y limpiar los filtros. Si los
filtros no pueden ser limpiados o están dañados, no
ponga en marcha la lavadora sin los filtros de entrada.

Limpieza
Limpie la lavadora periódicamente para mantenerla en
perfecto estado y evitar fallos de funcionamiento.
Limpieza del tambor, TUB CLEAN
La utilización de la lavadora en un lugar con humedad
durante un período de tiempo prolongado puede causar
la acumulación de moho negro y gérmenes en el aire del
interior del tambor y afectar su salud.
Si limpia el tambor regularmente una vez al mes con la TUB
CLEAN, mantendrá el tambor limpio y en buenas condiciones
higiénicas.

Añada un limpiador para tambor o removedor de cal en el
cajón dispensador de detergente.
- Cuando lo añada, no exceda la línea del nivel máximo
para detergente. Puede quedar detergente en el tambor
tras la limpieza.

Cuando utilice blanqueador con lejía,
cárguelo en el
compartimento de la lejía.

Cuando utilice un limpiador en polvo,
saque la cajita del
detergente líquido y añádalo en el compartimento del

Chasquidos:
• La cerradura de la puerta cuando el relé de la cerradura de la puerta se abre.
• La lavadora hará una serie de chasquidos mientras se cambia el modo de limpieza.
Ruido de alta frecuencia:
La cesta de lavado gira más rápido para quitar la humedad de la carga.
Pulverización o silbidos:
La pulverización de agua o circulación durante el ciclo.
Zumbido o gorgoteo:
La bomba de desagüe de bombeo de agua de la lavadora al final de un ciclo.
Sonido del agua salpicando:

5. Daños o fallos resultantes de un uso inadecuado, abusos,

COBERTURA DE LA GARANTÍA:
LG Electronics U.S.A., Inc. (“LG”) garantiza su lavadora LG (“producto”) contra cualquier defecto en materiales o mano de obra bajo un uso doméstico normal, durante el
periodo de garantía indicado más adelante, y LG podrá reparar o sustituir el producto, bajo su exclusivo criterio. Esta garantía limitada tiene validez sólo para el comprador
minorista original del producto, no puede cederse o transferirse a cualquier comprador o usuario posterior, y se aplica sólo cuando el producto se haya adquirido a través de
un distribuidor LG autorizado y se haya utilizado en Estado Unidos (“EE.UU.”), incluidos los Territorios de EE.UU.
Nota: Los productos de sustitución o piezas de reparación pueden ser nuevos o remanufacturados en fábrica y tendrán garantía para el tiempo restante del
